Aspen Dental - Cedar Rapids, IA

Negative experience: Had an appointment for yesterday was going to be 20 mins late because of a car accident.( wasn't involved but stuck behind it) They made me reschedule for today at 11. Still sitting in the waiting room at 1130. Good thing the Dentist is great. The scheduling is ridiculous. Sitting here watching people walk in and go right back.

Negative experience: Will never go to an Aspen Dental office again! I’ve been in pain with a broken tooth for a few weeks had a appointment with Aspen Dental on Edgewood rd, my bank account was hacked the week of my appointment, credit and bank cards were cancelled and reordered, they would not continue with my appointment and made me reschedule the appointment out for another 2 weeks, I have dental insurance, I also had multiple appointments scheduled to have teeth pulled and 4 implants with dentures planned, over $12k dollars worth of work and they wouldn’t bill me for the $168 dollar tooth extraction! Horrible customer service! Took me 3-4 days to get them to send my prescription to the right pharmacy, and then come to find out I didn’t even need to pay for the appointment I had $2,300 in financing available so there was no purpose in the receptionist rescheduling the appointment to have the tooth pulled! I have no cancelled all future appointments with them and will never go back!

Negative experience: Of the last 3 times I’ve scheduled with aspen, 2 of them I was told the appointment needed rescheduled the day before the appointment. Ridiculous.

Fantastic experience: I was here from out of town and had a super horrible toothache. I can't remember everyones name but everybody in the office was extremely nice and helpful from the front desk rep to the dental assistant to the Dentist himself. Very thankful for the help and kindness they gave me especially while in so much pain I would definitely recommend.

Negative experience: 1st appointment took over an hour half and then I scheduled a cleaning because they don’t do that with your 1st appointment. They have then rescheduled my appointment 3 times and I’m now well overdue for a cleaning and they can’t get me in for 6 months.

Fantastic experience: Crystal was friendly, professional, and made the visit quick and comfortable. Great experience! Abby was amazing! Super thorough, gentle, and made my teeth feel the cleanest they’ve been in a long time. Really appreciated how friendly and professional she was.

Negative experience: Not very helpful or friendly when trying to set up appointment. Often need to reschedule preplanned appointments the same week and won’t have openings for 5 + months

Fantastic experience: New to the area and needed to a checkup. Everyone I interacted with from scheduling through the appointment were kind, helpful, and kept things moving. Crystal and Abby were great to work with for x-rays and cleaning. Dr. Chamberlain was very clear in conveying information on my smile and next steps.

Fantastic experience: Quick and very knowledgeable. Kenzie was awesome. She listened and took care not to cause anymore pain. They got me in right away and made sure I knew all my options and helped me decide what’s best for me.

Fantastic experience: My first visit.So far nicer than last two places.The last did great job but they don't take my insurance. Aspen does. They were all very nice. My dentist for many years at another office retired and was replaced by a very mean creature from hell and so this place was wonderfull and closer to home.

Fantastic experience: I WANT TO LET EVERYONE HOW KIND AND CONSIDERATE EVERYONE AT ASPEN WAS TODAY, THEY WERE GREAT AND THE SERVICE WAS PERFECT.

Negative experience: I had an appointment scheduled, they called me 10 minutes before the appointment that I had to either cancel or reschedule because I was not their 15 minutes prior for paperwork that was sent to me that morning through a text link to fill out so I didnt have to come in 15 minutes early. ( Nothing in my email, the text reminder, the voicemail that morning or the phone call that morning there was never a mention of a 15 minute arrival) I asked why I was never informed to arrive 15 minutes early and was met with "you have to reschedule or cancel bc you wont be seen today". The lady was rude on the phone and refused to answer why I was being turned down, I then asked for her name and she hung up on me. The whole interaction was very frustrating and I felt like I was not cared for. In fact I am actually happy that did happen because why would I want to go to a place of medicine practice that performs on you and treat you like that as a patient. I called to reschedule for another day at a different location and the lady I spoke with on the phone was super apologetic and explained that in the 7.5 years she has worked for Aspen she has never heard of anyone ever treating a patient like that before. I would happily exercise everyone to no longer use this location, I know that I won't.

Over the past two weeks, this office has been incredibly responsive and accommodating during a very stressful situation. They were able to get me in for an emergency appointment the next day, explained everything clearly, and made sure I understood my options. Crystal was patient, respectful, and efficient, and I genuinely felt cared for throughout the entire process. I appreciate the level of professionalism and support she provided during a difficult time.

Negative experience: I went in to get a price quote for partials. I waited at least 15 over my appointment time. After x-rays, I was taken back to the exam area and the tech took some more pictures of my teeth. She left and I waited for the dentist. I waited about 15 minutes before the tech came back and said the dentist was running behind because of a difficult problem. I waited another 20 minutes before anyone came by. I was told I would have to have 2 other procedures before they could consider doing the partials. Since, my insurance is not accepted there I am paying out of pocket. I was told I could get a consultation with someone to help with payment. I never saw anyone. I was shown the door after I was given an appointment for a cleaning. I never got any answers I was hoping for. I felt all they saw were $$. I will not return.

Fantastic experience: I hadn't visited a dentist since I was a kid and now as an adult with insurance for the first time it was time to fix my smile and Im so thankful I came here! I was petrified but everyone here was so warm and welcoming and make me feel so seen and accepted! From my first xray struggles with poor T and Lauryn who had to deal with my terrible gag reflex to my first step of fixing my smile! Dr. Shach and Lauryn were so warm and friendly and made me feel like we had all the time in the world and didn't rush me through the daunting surgery. They answered questions I didn't know i had, gave me a goodie bag full of everything I could need for healing (even a cold compress!)and made sure i knew to contact them ASAP with ANY concerns. Lauryn giving me special attention when I was nervous and keeping me occupied and distracted when I needed it. They are so good at making sure I didn't feel like like a bother and take the time at every appointment during my healing process to make sure I know what's going on and comfortable with all the steps. Coming in for my follow up appointment I got to meet Connie who was more than happy to answer my last minute questions and gave me additional info I never would have thought to ask but is SUPER HELPFUL! T even came in to check on me when she happened to walk by and see me. Shes so genuine and sweet and wanted to know how everything was going. Everyone in the office seems to remember me by name without my prompting and I dont feel like a random patient among the hundreds they must see weekly. They recognize me at a glance and are all to happy to check in and provide encouragement. Make an appointment. It'll be the best decision you have ever made!

Crystal was excellent at answering all of my questions and making sure I was comfortable throughout the procedure. She did a great job preparing the temporary crown. Dr. Chamberlain was skilled preparing my teeth for the crown. Their calm nature and confidence put me at ease.

Fantastic experience: I had such a great experience thanks to Demya! She was incredibly kind, professional, and made me feel completely at ease from the moment I sat down. You can tell she genuinely cares about her patients—she took the time to explain everything clearly and made sure I was comfortable the entire visit. It’s not always easy going to the dentist, but Demya made it a smooth and positive experience. Definitely one of the best dental assistants I’ve ever had. Highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: Today was my 3rd appointment w Aspen Dental to do the molding for 2 crowns. Crystal was absolutely wonderful & such a beautiful person! My temporary crowns fit & matched perfectly!! She & the dentist worked so well as a team! I am so happy that I was directed to Aspen Dental & finally able to get my teeth fixed the right way! It's been a long time coming & I am so thankful for Aspen Dental & their team!

Negative experience: This practice has terrible patient management. My appointment was cancelled 3 times in the span of 4 months. They proceeded to not take responsibility for their screw up and blamed their machine. If you value your time I recommend seeking another practice.

Fantastic experience: Had a tooth pulled today. Avery the technician was a sweetheart. Dr. Chamberlain made the whole experience of the extraction painless. Between Avery and the Doc everything went smoothly. Also I found out while in the chair my insurance no longer covered extraction. The young lady at the front desk let me know they would not charge me. I let her know how great full I was. I couldn't of went to a better place then Aspen Dental. Now I will be looking for a new insurance company
