Fantastic experience: Everyone at this office is friendly, professional and knowledgeable! My son has language and learning delays and this is where we went for his first dental experience. Dr. Lindley and her team handled everything perfectly! My son feels comfortable and cared for. He looks forward to his visits. I feel well communicated with as the parent and learn something new about how to support his dental health every time we go or have a consultation. Dr. Lindley has gone above and beyond to help us explore early intervention options my son may need. We'll never go anywhere else!

Fantastic experience: As always, Dr. Lindley is amazing! She is so wonderful, caring and kind. I would recommend her for children of any age and especially kiddos with special challenges in their lives. I am so thankful to have a children’s dentist like Dr. Lindley that can create a positive experience for children. She has a very calming presence. Everything from the lobby, the treatment room and the check in area always looks so beautiful! Creates a positive environment. Her staff is the best! All of them are just wonderful!! Fantastic experience: We’ve seen Dr Lindley for years and she has been consistently awesome. She is so patient and kind with the kids. Her entire staff is friendly and professional. I appreciate how they pull the parent back to discuss the treatment that’s been done and costs while kids are finishing up so that I can understand the billing without distractions. They always explain everything thoroughly and will even offer costs on specific treatments that are optional first so that the parent can make sure we are okay with the cost. I drive pretty far to come here because I love this office so much ♥️

Fantastic experience: We love Dr Shields and his staff. Hayden is 20 and has seen Dr Shields since he was 2. They have always treat us like we special, in a world like today this means everything!!!

Negative experience: We love dr. Lindley for both of our kids, but unfortunately won't return anymore due to their billing practices. The office constantly changes what your portion due is. They change it after the visit, blaming the insurance of not billing properly- we should have been informed regarding this before the appointment.

Fantastic experience: Dr Lindley is very kind and personable. She will spend time answering any questions or concerns. All staff in office are very friendly, super nice and knowledgeable.

Negative experience: After being a double customer for some time now and spent quite some money here I'm upset with the late charges received by the clinic due tonot being informed in advance that our insurance suddenly became out of network. You lose customers with this kind of behavior.

Fantastic experience: We love love love Dr. Shields! He and his entire staff are amazing with my little one. Edited years later... not sure how many, but it is now 2026 and since Dr. Shields has retired, we now see Dr. Lindley. My daughter loves Dr. Lindley and everyone is still amazing. No complaints.

Negative experience: This place is great with the kids and they have loved it here. The issue is that each time we go there is a balance and always changes. Now to be fair to them we understand that it is out of network but we have always asked to know the bill in anticipation. They have let us know an estimate based on what the dentist will do but every single time they keep charging us more a few months later. Their explanation is that some charges were not approved by insurance but each time we have gone the treatment has yet to change and they always do the same things and unsure why the charges are always different. I would give it 2 stars for not providing clarity to the patients which is the least they can do since we’re paying for insurance plus their extra costs.

Fantastic experience: Edited review. Dr Anne Lindley took over for Dr. Shields a few years ago after he retired and she has been such a blessing to our family. She is very smart and has a deep love for children. My kids feel like she is family and she is highly trusted and respected by my children and family. We are so incredibly grateful for the love and care she puts into her work. My son knocked the bottom half of his 2 front teeth out the other day and she made an emergency visit with us on a Sunday night and then rebuild his sweet smile for us today. We are eternally grateful for Dr Lindley and the amazing staff in the front office. Dr. Shields really knew what he was doing when he passed the baton. We love Dr. Shields! His entire staff is full of love and warmth. While my 2.5 year old daughter waited to be seen today I stood back and watched as Dr. Shields finished with another patient, then stood at the side of the room and smiled as my daughter played on a jelly floor mat. I could tell he truly cares about the children he helps. We have 3 children who see him. I will NEVER use another dentist!!!

She was our second opinion and did such a great job at not talking over ahead but also being very clear with what her assessment was. Cannot recommend her more! Her team cared for our older girls so well, even when they weren’t the patients!

Fantastic experience: Always a great experience here at JBS pediatric dentistry. A few months ago, my son ended up really sick and we couldn’t tell if it was viral or an abscesses tooth. Dr Shields went above and beyond in a holiday weekend to help me figure what my next steps were (we’d been to a local urgent care facility earlier that day and received terrible care). He helped me remain calm, and it allowed us to sleep that night. Moms know that’s a tremendous factor in hiring a provider to care for a child. My son has seen him since age 3. He’s always content and happy to go for his checkups and visits. We are forever grateful we were referred here when he was a toddler. Friendly staff and always “old school” professional customer service. This 50+ Mom really appreciates that kind of customer care! Update: Here we are, age 12 and the service, the consultation, the experience, the staff and Dr Shield’s expertise, is still unparalleled. We feel so blessed and lucky to have him provide dental care for our son.

Fantastic experience: My son was going to mint dentistry but for anything passed cleaning they always referred him to Shields. So I decided why not make this his primary and only dentist. Best decision ever. My son even likes it better. The change in dentist has not changed this place and my kids love it. If you can make it here with your kids you should.

Fantastic experience: We were patients of Dr Shields before, so we were a little weary of a new dentist taking over the practice. However, it seems all the staff have remained on which is fantastic, and Dr Lindley is genuinely just as great at her art as Dr Shields was. We drive almost an hour to get here and pass numerous pediatric dentists on the way, and it’s totally worth it. My kids actually get excited to go to the dentist!

We have been using them for over 8 years and so grateful that we found Dr Shields and his staff. They are easy to get to off of Highway 80 and Collins. Highly recommend him and his staff to anyone. Fantastic experience: Dr Shields is a wonderful and great dentist. My son is 46 years old and mentally challenged and Dr Shields has won all my son’s confidence in his work. My son has been seeing Dr Shields for about 6 years now and does not have to be sedated in anyway for the cleans. Before Dr Shields he had to be half way sedated or totally sedated to have any dental work done. I see a lot of children there and they all look very comfortable there during their work. The whole staff is extremely exceptional from the front office to all the dental staff. I thank the good Lord for Dr Shields office. I recommend Dr Shields to any one with children. Especially if you have an adult son or daughter with a Mental Challenge! Dr Shields have more patience and respect than any dentist my son has see in the past. I Highly Recommend Dr Shields!!

Fantastic experience: We love the office staff. Dr. Anne is the sweetest and most attentive. Dr. Joel Shields handpicked Dr. Anne and we make a 30 minute drive to stay with our Dental family. We miss Dr. Joel Shields dearly, but he has earned his time off and is most deserving of a peace filled, healthy, next era in his long and blessed life.

Fantastic experience: My son is autistic so we’ve been burned by bad experiences with dentists with him. He’s not even that difficult but most dentists looked very uncomfortable when handling him. Even dentists who advertise that they handle children with special needs were clearly not, and don’t hold a candle to this place. We’ve been here several times and It’s still the best experience for my son.

Fantastic experience: I was feeling nostalgic and decided to look up my middle school orthodontist, and I'm so glad he's still in business. I was a patient in the 90s when Dr. Shields' office was off Gus Thomason, and I have to say that he was always, and I'm sure remains, a wonderful, thorough, and knowledgable dental professional. Fantastic experience: I've been bringing my son to Dr. Shields since he was 1 year old and he is now 7 years old. From the very first visit, my son loved it. In the beginning he cried because he didn't know what was going on but once they calmed him down he enjoyed it. My son now tells me he wants to be a dentist when he grows up. The facility is always clean. The office ladies are always courteous and dressed nicely. Everyone makes you feel comfortable. I wish they would see adults because I'd be the first to sign up. Update 9/27/23: Yesterday was the first day that my son was seen by the new dentist. Dr. Lindsey was an absolute pleasure. I can see why Dr. Shields entrusted her with his practice. We will continue to call this place home.

Fantastic experience: There are not enough words of praise for Dr. Shields and his phenomenal staff! We've been going to Dr. Shields for 14 years now. I have to say one of the things that I have absolutely loved most about doing business with him is the braces process. So many of my daughter's friends were getting braces before they were 10years old and I always thought that seemed odd. Dr. Shields observed Brady and gave her teeth time to make some moves, pulled some teeth to allow for some things to shift/drop down then once he saw it was absolutely necessary, recommended we do braces. He wasn't in a hurry to slap them on there and take our money and I deeply appreciate that! We really liked how he spaced out getting the top and bottom done rather than doing it all at one time where she couldn't eat for a week like majority of her friends. As I mentioned, his staff is phenomenal! They are literally THE most kind and friendly staff of ANY business we go to.
