Alpha Dental Akron

Negative experience: This dentist is understaffed and unprofessional. I cant speak to anyone on the phone and my appointments have been canceled multiple times! The staff is rude and evidently doesn't actually want ti help anyone

Negative experience: My review seems to have disappeared so let's do this again. My fiancé came here and had a tooth pulled. They wanted to pull several others but he wanted a 2nd opinion. We got our 2nd opinion and they suggested the teeth weren't restorable, but this dentist didn't pull teeth so they sent us back to Alpha Dental. They refused to see him again because apparently, we hurt their feelings when we wanted a 2nd opinion. So we finally managed to find another dentist that takes his insurance. We saw them today and they took new xrays and they said the teeth are restorable and started the process of doing that today. Imagine that. Don't take Alpha Dentals word if they say your teeth are not restorable and need pulled. That may not be the case. They dont care about saving teeth. I wish I could give them zero stars. Good riddance. We will never be back and we will tell everyone we know to beware of Alpha Dental.

Negative experience: As much as I wanted to love this place this is the second time that I went with them to get extractions and never got a call back to set up an appointment or talk about what was going on It took over a month to contact them and figure out what was going on the first time the 2nd time i was told I've received a call back within the next day and never got the call back I called a week later trying to figure out what was going on the lady didn't know so she told me they would contact me again and never did 2 weeks later I'm still trying to contact them about extractions when I finally got a hold of the secretary and was explaining to her what was going on she rudely interrupted me and dismissed what i was telling her about not receiving a call back I found it rude and dismissive when an apology would have went along way but to just dismiss it and not care about the customer was crazy

Fantastic experience: I love Alpha Dental. Everyone in the office is so welcoming, helpful, and professional. The dentist takes his time, explains everything, and make sure you're comfortable from start to finish. They've earned my trust completely. I wouldn't go anywhere else.

Negative experience: I had an appointment scheduled with Alpha Dental for weeks. I called them 3-4 times to confirm if they accepted my insurance. I never received call backs. It wasn't until the Friday afternoon prior to my Monday appointment someone finally decided to check about insurance and informed me I was not in their network. I cancelled work for this appointment. I need this dental work done ASAP but now I am starting all over again and waiting weeks again. Because Alpha Dental call center is inept.

Negative experience: So my fiancé had a tooth pulled here. They dont allow anyone to go back with the patient. He has anxiety and did not understand that some of his teeth are not restorative. So they sent him to a different dentist and they were kind enough to explain to me, what was going on with him. So the dentist we went to does not do extractions so they sent us back to Alpha Dental. I called and left a message and they never called back. So I showed up there today and now they are refusing to do anymore extractions on him. They would not explain why, only said it varies by case. And as soon as she looked his name up, she immediately started saying something about not seeing him again then said she had to talk to her boss. So their refusal to see him must be because they are butt hurt that he wanted a 2nd opinion since they already pulled one of his teeth successfully. So this decision has also earned them a 1 star since they dont want to explain anything to us. So thanks for nothing, rest assured we will find a dentist, one that actually calls people back. Your star rating is going down and will continue to go down as you are very unprofessional.

Negative experience: I was seen here for a molar extraction and I am highly unsatisfied by the service. I was only numb enough for about 2/3 of the procedure and was noticeably uncomfortable due to the pain. They also did not use the correct equipment to hold my mouth open they just had me open my mouth wide and held my cheek away from the tooth that was getting worked on. The dentist was also pushing on my front teeth with the surgical pliers to try and pry out my molar. Before the procedure I was told that my tooth would come out in 2-4 pieces and during the procedure I felt at least 6 pieces of my tooth break off. After I had the molar extracted I was consistently bleeding heavily for 12 hours after. Within those 12 hours I soaked at least 25 gauze pads with blood. My blood clot was not healing correctly because the hole in my gums was too big to hold it in. I returned here the next morning to try and get the bleeding to slow down and see if they could do anything to speed up the recovery. At this point I haven’t ate or drink anything for at least 24 hours. I told the dentist/dental assistant this and they took my X-rays. Then I waited for at least 25-30 minutes for the dentist to examine my gums/teeth for less than a minute. He insincerely told me it was healing the way he wanted it to. Then he quickly reviewed recovery information I was given at the time of the procedure. Then they discharged me without asking if I needed anything else or had any further concerns. I felt that my needs and concerns weren’t a priority here. This experience has been an ordeal compared to another tooth I had extracted a few years ago. I would respect this establishment more if they would’ve just told me from the start they can’t effectively perform this procedure and ensure decent recovery.

Fantastic experience: Nicest people, Ive never been to dentists so I was very nervous but Ive had a couple appointments and they have all went well. the other day I had a very bad infection and it was very important I got it taken care of and I was there the next day and they got it and set up my next appointments to make sure that would fully be taken care of the right way and they were just the sweetest people!

Fantastic experience: I had all of my teeth removed, it was local anesthesia. I dont get numb very so when I came to I was in a lot of pain on the bottom. They accommodated me for that. My appointment was at 940 and I was home by noon. They a very friendly and the Dr's are very informative. All in all 5 stars

Negative experience: Friendly staff and Dentist but he seems to be in a hurry most of the time. I needed 2 teeth pulled. I got one pulled out and the other he said he would send me to a surgeon when I should have got sent for both. This was the most uncomfortable longest tooth extraction I’ve ever had. Even when I got home I was crying in pain when the numbness wore off. I would not recommend them for teeth extractions. Only simple work

Fantastic experience: I cannot recommend this Dentist enough! If I could give it more stars, I would! The moment I walked in, They never belittled me and maybe feel anything less. I had a bad anxiety from my dental care. Dr Mendal always made me feel comfortable and made sure that I was in any kind of pain. He always took my concern seriously answered any questions every time I had questions Megan Janette was always there, Explained everything nicely and not disrespectfully. Sarah always lead a hand ;) through the process i trust them. And so glad I did! The front desk staff were always welcoming Michelle & Melaina always smiles greeted me. They took the time to make my Thanksgiving great by checking to see if my dentures were in before that was HUGE and I will always recommend anyone here! The girls at the front desk are so sweet and welcoming, Dr. Mendel was very informative in educating me on what work I needed done, they are very accommodating as after my very first visit they scheduled me for my fillings the very next day. And Janette was very efficient. My last office wasn’t a great experience so this is definitely an upgrade, I highly recommend them.

I am so happy they were able to do the for her. All of the staff is moving here. Everyone has there part and does it. The lady's at the front desk are lovely. Negative experience: Michelle & Melaina are so sweet and the office is super clean and everyone is so sweet. ***Update the nurse Megan and the Dr are complete jerks and treated my daughter like trash. She is terrified of needles and had some issues during the work and the Dr threw the tools down and walked out because she was in pain and crying. The nurse came to get me and let me know they won't be doing her work. Not only did this Dr have poor bedside manner he lost 5 patients because I canceled all of our appointments and we will not be returning. The front ladies tho truly are a blessing and deserve wayyyyy better than this place. They still deserve 5* but not the Dr or the nurse also when I said everyone was nice it was the crazy lady and the front staff we had never met the nurse yet.

Fantastic experience: Love this place. My kids are normally never the dentist. Front desk ladies Michelle and Melaina are friendly a courteous. Megan the dental assistant put my kid’s fears to rest and answered their questions with patience and kindness. Dr. Mendel was friendly and was able to examine my kids with patience and willing to explain his findings so my children understood.

Fantastic experience: I switched to Alpha Dental after my old dentist referred me to them for a procedure he was unable to perform. I had such a great experience that I decided to switch to them for all of my dental work needs. The staff is professional and attentive and always available to help. All of the staff is great but Michelle and Melaina at the front desk are top notch as is the staff in the back Sarah, Megan and Janette and of course Dr Mendel is wonderful.

Fantastic experience: Kind, patient and caring staff here. I'm happy with how quickly I was able to get an appointment. *Update Jan 7, 2025 - 4 appointments later and another 1 to go and I still feel the same. I've never actually liked a dentist and his staff as much as I do at Alpha. Thank you Dr Mendel, Megan, Janette and Michelle:)

Fantastic experience: I recommend this Dental Office to everyone! I went in for my first visit about a week ago. The atmosphere was peaceful and office was clean and in order. The music playing was inspirational and the whole office was decorated with encouraging words. The front desk staff were very professional and kind. They made me feel comfortable and they cared. The assistants were professional and kind as well, they made me feel as if we knew each other for a long time. I appreciate the whole staff taking the time to listen and answering all my questions. I went in today to have my tooth pulled and OMG, Dr. Mendel was amazing! He was very professional and kind. He is very knowledgeable in his profession and made me feel very comfortable with having my tooth pulled. He came in the room and did a great job pulling my tooth out, he was quick and the procedure was not painful. I am so grateful for everyone in this office and I pray many blessings over the staff and their families. This office has the right ones in the right position, I will definitely recommend all my family and friends to this office.
