Negative experience: Every treatment I received at this office caused new, costly issues. Dr. Chung performed multiple root canals and crowns -- specialists later showed me on X-rays that he missed roots in every single tooth, leading to reinfections and expensive retreatments. Years later, Dr. Barry perforated my tooth during a root canal, hid the damage, lied that it went fine, and sold me an unsavable crown. During an extraction, she also scraped the adjacent tooth so severely it is now decaying. This office prioritizes high volume over quality care, never providing a proper treatment plan. I am now paying thousands out-of-pocket to correct their mistakes and repair outright damage. Find a dentist who takes their time -- it will save you a fortune. I will never trust them again.

Negative experience: Well I originally had an appointment back in 2025 for teeth cleaning the office called me and they had to cancel it for scheduling conflicts with the office so I had to reschedule it to Aug 1, 2026. I go for the appointment and get there ten minutes early and sat and waited for 45 minutes meanwhile no one has said anything to me before hand that they were running behind and when I asked why it’s taking so long the answer I got was because of a new computer system we’re using it’s making us run behind and couldn’t tell me how much longer of a wait it would be. I’m just very disappointed because my mother has gone here for years and loves Dr Marino and speaks very highly of him.

Negative experience: Went in April for tooth pain and was told I needed a root canal and a bridge. I was shuffled out very quickly and told I'd receive a letter in the mail from my insurance company to see what I would owe. My former doctor left this practice after Botox, fillers and cosmetic procedures started taking over the office. Went to a second dentist for a second opinion and told, I needed none of that work. This is not the same practice it was once was and I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND finding another practice. They're just fleecing the insurance companies and ruining people's mouths.

Fantastic experience: As always, a very great experience. My tech is such a warm individual. Today was cleaning , flossing and polishing. It was so great. Never once was there a sign of pain. And the Dentist in place of Carlos was very pleasant and professional.

Fantastic experience: Once again, Dr Chung is the best! Had a crown redone yesterday. A seamless experience with a professional and kind dentist. Also the reception, billing and dental staff are very helpful and communicative. And a beautiful view of nature outside the window is extremely relaxing... a special perk to help get you through a procedure.

Positive experience: They're great; they're helpful; they're knowledgeable in their profession and extremely helpful and knowledgeable about insurance companies. Just don't expect them to call you back when they say they will. I kept calling to see if my insurance company had approved what I needed. They kept telling me we will call you when it does, we will call you when it does. A couple weeks later I got the paper in the mail saying it was approved and figured they would be calling soon. Life got busy for me in 3 months later I realized they never called. The same thing also happened to my mother. So.. my advice is to keep calling them even though they tell you 'they will call you'.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been coming here for years, and I can say without hesitation that my hygienist, Denni, is the best in the business. Book early—her schedule fills up fast—because she absolutely rocks. I used to receive care at DentalWorks in Stow, and switching providers was one of the best decisions I’ve made. Dr. Barry has done multiple crowns and fillings for me, and she’s an expert through and through. Minimal discomfort, great communication, and always receptive to feedback. After my previous experiences elsewhere, this place was a breath of fresh air. I haven’t been back to DW since. I even voted for them as Beacon’s Best this year because, in my opinion, nobody else comes close. To the rest of the team—Sr., Jr., and the entire office staff—you’re all amazing. Every visit feels like walking into a family. Highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: BEST DENTIST ive ever had...The staff and doc are always friendly!!! They always go above and BEYOND to take care of the issue causing your pain/discomfort. My husband and I both, have been going here for years because of teeth problems and numbing issues, but there is never any problem with the doc taking our comfort into consideration. I'd recommend STATE VALLEY DENTAL to anyone & everyone!!!

Negative experience: I was told I needed a crown on one of my teeth at my check up in the beginning of February. Was told it would be submitted to my insurance. Got a call back in March, the claim was submitted to the wrong insurance company. They said they would submit it again through the correct insurance. A month later, beginning of April, still nothing from them. I contacted my insurance company to see if the claim had been submitted, they said no. My insurance called State Valley Dental to confirm I was covered for the procedure, and that State Valley Dental would be contacting me to set up an appointment. That was three weeks ago. Poor, poor customer service. Update: Today is Tuesday, April 28th. It has 3 weeks since my insurance company contacted State Valley Dental to inform them I was approved for the procedure. State Valley Dental informed my insurance company to pass onto me that they " would be contacting me soon" to schedule the appointment. Three. Weeks. Ago. Followup from owner response: Apparently you did not fully read the original review...

Negative experience: Very pleased with the way I was treated. That was innitialy Until the office screwed up. I had insurance coverage for implant. It was the office negligence or mistake or whatever . They did not sent the prior authorization on time. Ins did not pay because of that. And they now want to collect money from me. Shame! And they never apologized Let me add more: today April 12. 2026 I am a senior of 76 .I came to USA 35 yr ago. The office messed up, they did not apologized, and because I had the courage to tell the truth they discriminated against me. They refused to do the tooth cleaning . I had the appointment and they just rejected me. Horrible!

Positive experience: They do a great job, and even at 7 in the morning the people are friendly.

Negative experience: This was the most horrible experience of my life. I am completely traumatized. Will never go there again or bring my young adult children there. I believe I have a Malpractice case on my hands which I I plan on pursuing after my visit today. Absolutely unprofessional and appalling. From the first visit I should have known. I wasted a year of my life going to appointments that should have taken 3 months tops. Not only did they waste my time and money they pulled teeth that didn’t need to be pulled and never were able to complete a partial in 1 year. Worst dentist ever and I have lived in many states been to several dentist offices and this is by far the worst I have ever been too. Don’t go there

Fantastic experience: I had a really great experience at State Valley Dental. Dr. Mike was extremely gentle and I felt little to no pain during my extraction, which honestly made a huge difference for me. He made me feel comfortable the entire time talking me through it and eased a lot of my anxiety. The staff was also very friendly and welcoming. Thanks to him, I definitely feel much better about going to the dentist from now on. Highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: After a tooth 'cap' popped off, I was able to schedule an appointment for noon thefollowing day. By 12:30, I was back in my car with the cap glued in placed. This was a 10 experience.

Negative experience: The receptionists are very very rude I got to my appointment a minute pass there grace period they didn’t want to take me which was totally okay I understand they have rules but what was not okay was the two lady’s in the back made very loud rude remarks about me and mind you I’m 17 years old and two grown woman sat there and made comments about me and stared at me it was a very uncomfortable situation for me and every other experience me and my mom have had there has been pretty bad they chipped my tooth while working on it the wouldn’t take accountability there just not very nice people and they need to be trained better Dr.mike is a good dentist and I do appreciate him but that’s about it everyone else there who I’ve met and spoken to is beyond rude and snarky I’m very disappointed in the way they think that can treat people

Positive experience: I came to Dr. Barry for my very first fill in she speaks so softly and makes what’s a very unpleasant experience much easier. They also got me in quickly with the cancellations as we all know good customer service is hard to find no problem at State Valley Dental though.

Fantastic experience: Doctor Michael is the best. I had a dental emergency. I called them at 7:30 AM. I was in by 8 AM the same day and I was walking out of there by 9:30. They took care of my emergency. They took away my pain. Those people were awesome and his assistant was amazing thank you Dr. Michael I will be back and I will be telling my friends and family about you and your office thank you.

Negative experience: I called when I made the appointment three months ago. I told them what I was coming for. I was given prices for options if they were not able to retreat I was Quoted $350 for a partial, but I was told they did retreats here. They allowed me to drive all the way from Massillon even though I contacted them before I left the house this morning to confirm everything I never got a prior a call yesterday to confirm my appointment so I had to call and make sure I still had an appointment and then to find out that you don’t even do the service that I was told that you did by your employee I think it’s really shitty customer service, very non apologetic. Just “oh that girl only worked here 4 days” clearly, better training is in order

Fantastic experience: Today (12/23/2025) another great visit to State Valley Dental. This was just a cleaning and check-up but the staff was attentive and discussed whatever questions I had. Great work by Dr. Carlos Marino again. For years I went to another dentist and lost many teeth, looked terrible, and could barely chew. I have been with Marino for about 10 years, and all his work has been excellent!

Negative experience: Called yesterday and was told to come in at 6:30am for dental emergencies. So I used my last half vacation day and got a baby sitter. 8am hits and I ask for an update and was told- probably not until 11. The procedure would probably take an hour, meaning my half day was gone and I wouldn’t be able to get work done. My back tooth is broken and I was unable to get it fixed. The staff was extremely sarcastic and not helpful when I explained my situation. I asked if I could be notified if I go to my car, I have medical complications and needed a break and wasn’t able to even get that. Do not recommend

Fantastic experience: I am extremely happy with Dr Barry and the staff at State Valley. I had been to other dentists that just didn't listen to me. They recommended treatment that my insurance didn't cover which resulted in thousands of dollars out of pocket.. State Valley actually listened to me, put together a treatment plan that fits my budget and treats the problems I'm having without sacrificing my smile. I'm actually excited to get started.

Negative experience: I will never go back here. I cancelled all my future appointments here as well. I got filling done here and they said I had 16 cavities. I got what I thought was half the fillings done here and they wrecked my mouth. They had to numb me 3 times and it still didn’t work. I had pain in my mouth over two weeks after the fact. 6 months later and I still can not chew on the side I got the fillings done because of how sensitive they are. They also hit right by my growing wisdom tooth when they tried to inject me 3 times and it is still swollen to this day and they had to give me antibiotics for it at the time and were so rude when I had called. My bite is off as well. I went to a new dentist and they said I only have 7 fillings and one of them is one that state valley just “filled”. They made me feel awful about my teeth and said I grind them in my sleep and basically degraded me about it and just kept saying how bad it is and how horrible my teeth are. New dentist says that’s not the case and that my teeth are in pretty good condition and they will get me a fitted nightguard. Do not go here.

Fantastic experience: State Valley Dental in Cuyahoga Falls is an amazing, professional and outstanding office. The staff there is incredibly efficient and professional. My hygienist, Melissa knows my fear of dentistry and she goes the distance to help me relax and does such a wonderful job. She is always respectful and personable. She’s the best!!!

Fantastic experience: I had my first toothache this year and have been turned away from my own dentist and had to find an Oral surgeon to remove it. I found State Valley dental , they took my insurance AND, has walk ins 4 days a week! While everyone else wanted to schedule me months out, they said come in by 6:30 and we can help! And they did! I can’t not express how smooth and painless this whole process was from start to finish! The Dentist and all the techs there that I encountered were FANTASTIC!!! I am so thankful she was able to get the tooth out without invasive measures and she was just all around wonderful! Thank you so much State Valley Dental! You literally SAVED MY LIFE TODAY!

Fantastic experience: The other day was my first appointment at State Valley Dental, and I was very pleased with the care I received there. I made another appointment to get a root canal done, then (hopefully) get a crown made for that tooth. I love that this clinic takes my Medicaid Buckeye Health Plan Insurance, and I can finally get this dental work done! I also need a deep gum treatment done every three months, and can get everything done there, at one place. I'm giving this office a five star review, because they deserve it, and the whole staff was very polite and kind.

Fantastic experience: Top notch dental care. The dental hygienists are very kind making your experience as comfortable as possible. The only negative(if you can call it that)is it can be hard to get an appointment because everyone else wants to go there.

Fantastic experience: The Hygienist called me in early. We arrived early because we didn't know abut any traffic problems with snow. She got my xrays, cleaned and polished my teeth and had Dr. Marino examine me. He explained what my problems were and we set up a visit to correct them. As a former Dentist I am familiar with what a quality practice is and this is one of them.

Negative experience: Had a consultation visit over 2 months ago and haven’t been contacted about anything. Have called and requested my information on my procedure be faxed to my insurance company. Was told it was and that wasn’t true. Have called numerous times over the past 2 weeks and they have still not received it. Called today and some lady told me it would be done today and yet it wasn’t. It’s stressful enough to have this done but not as stressful as basically being lied to. Very very disappointed in the lack of concideration for my request. Basically zero help on this from anyone.

Negative experience: Had a appointment at 8:30, was asked to sit and wait for my name. I sat there for an hour only to be told it'll be another 10-15 minutes. So I sat for another half hour. In the hour and a half I sat there, 6-7 patients went in ahead of me, people who had just arrived. I won't be returning.

Negative experience: I really loved this dentist. But I unfortunately got dropped as a patient because I gave no notice to not being able to make my appointment. I not only had woke up late but woke up sicker than a dog. I wasn’t about to go into their office sick out of respect. But they said they couldn’t see me anymore and would be happy to transfer my records. I am not one to even no call no show either. I’m extremely disappointed because I had finally found a dentist I really liked and trusted.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been a patient of Dr.Carlo Marino for many years and always have a good experience when being seen by him and his professional staff. I recently had my teeth cleaned and the hygienist was wonderful. I was also seen by Dr. Mike Marino who appears to have the same mild touch as his dad.

Negative experience: “They” Don’t hear you, they don’t care about you. They Don’t treat you in a timely manor when they do, They don’t treat you right! So many other places for dentistry in this area Nobody deserves this kind of treatment. Regardless of their dental hygiene Everybody deserves more than this processing factory can ever give!! Fact!

Positive experience: Visited as a first time patient with Dr. Barry for a crown and want not impressed. They claim they never received my records from previous dentist but I confirmed they were emailed a week prior. Additionally they tried to schedule out my next visit 4 1/2 weeks! Claimed that's how long it would take for approval. My last approval was done in 3 days and confirmed with my insurance it would take 7 days max but usually less. Also tried to tell me I had to have the estimate "released" from my previous dentist or it would be declined. Another falacy disproved in a discussion with my insurance. Staff was generally nice but did not give me confidence they knew what they were doing. I'd rather paid out of network than come back here and have them work on my teeth. Disappointing first impression.

Negative experience: Dr. Barry did my crowns and I look like Roger Rabbit! Let’s not get started with Kayla who does the insurance authorizations. It took an entire year to finally get approved because she continued to send the incorrect X-rays or paperwork from dentist. She told me that they would never get approved since they were denied several times and they finally did after I had to request for her to send additional information every single time. When I wasn’t happy with my crowns and asked for them to be fixed they decided to kick me out of the practice. Again this is another day after asking lazy Kayla to confirm an additional authorization because she obviously hates her job! I have now requested my records and file three different times with no prevail! I will be seeking an attorney for this horrible experience! Dr Barry hasn’t been practicing cosmetic dentistry for long! I believe that she’s a very new addition to this office. Run! Do not go here!!!

Fantastic experience: I had an emergency a recorded message called me back and said to be one of the first three people there the next morning by 6:45 am. I was the there at six. I got in to see one of the best dentist's I've ever been too. Trust me when I say I hate going to the dentist. State Valley Dental has changed my mind about being afraid to go to the dentist.

They even take the time to clean and inspect my night guard and check for proper fit. Dr Marino and his staff always take their time and make me feel at ease. Fantastic experience: I had tooth pain and I was going on a trip the following week. I went into the office without an appointment knowing that they schedule months in advance. They called me a half hour later and took an x-ray and saw that I had a small cavity and filled it immediately. These guys are pros and I have been working with them since 2009

Fantastic experience: Dr Chung is a genious! I speak so highly about him because he has not let me down, I’ve been going to state valley dental for 20+ years! Dr. Chung is kind, professional, and administers the most pain free novocaine shot I’ve ever experienced! He explains in detail all options to make a dental repair. I have a problematic overbite! He has gone above and beyond to make my 5 crowns perfect! Thank you Dr Chung for always getting me in quickly and for repairing my mouth with 5 beautiful crowns and several fillings! Fantastic experience: I hadn't been to the dentist in years because my phobia is so bad. I had to go because I lost a tooth in the front and another one was cracked. I had been to another dentist a few months before and got an exam and treatment plan. Not only was the dentist rude, i was told that I had no choice but to have my other 2 front teeth pulled even though there was nothing wrong with them. I was able to get an emergency appointment here immediately. They made me feel very comfortable as soon as I walked in. They didn't judge the condition of my teeth and the staff was professional and extremely competent. Dr Marino did everything in his power to make sure I was comfortable and pain free. I have already recommended them to 3 friends. Thank you!

Fantastic experience: I have been going there for some time and they have cared for me very well. I unfortunately have dry mouth which leads to a lot of dental issues and they have not only treated me and my teeth well, but I haven't felt like I have been judged for all of my dental issues (which is important to me). Negative experience: Aside from the reception area I'm pleasantly pleased with the Drs. The receptionist could use a refresher course on HIPPA laws as mocking a woman who was clearly struggling with the day loud enough for the entire waiting room to hear I'm sure violated something... Like the world seriously needed more ugly in it you ladies and gentlemen surpassed that today...

Fantastic experience: I used to see Dr. Marino years ago. I left my current dentist due to poor service and questionable billing. I remembered Dr. Mario's office being a good place. I returned there to have my first check up today. Great experience. My hygienist was wonderful, very friendly and kind. Glad I came back!

Fantastic experience: I’ve been going to State Valley Dental in Cuyahoga falls for years. They are by far the best. Dr. Marino and his entire staff goes above and beyond to provide the best options for you not them. You will always feel comfortable, relaxed and be kept informed of all your options. Dr. Marino is the only dentist in my 70 yrs that can give you novocaine and you won’t feel it at all. Honest…They will always have your best interests at heart.

Fantastic experience: My aging teeth just aren’t what they used to be and they are a little bit problematic requiring some special care and a lot of attention. I am more than happy to tell everyone I have received what they need from Dr. Marino and his fine staff at State and Valley Dental. I’ve been in the Falls my whole life and I’ve gone to quite a few dentists over the years who have either retired or have passed on. If I could characterize Dr. Marino and his staff, I would call them old school friendly anf compassionate professionals who are facilitated by the latest in state-of-the-art dental equipment and techniques.

Negative experience: Bad experience, I made an appointment for my children, after a few days they sent me a text telling me that they no longer see children under 14 years old. First they told me that they did not accept my insurance and I waited a couple of months to add them to my insurance and now this, I feel discriminated .
