Fantastic experience: Historically, I have never been a fan of dental visits. Coming here has changed my mind completely. While I am still don't like dental things - they make it so calm for me. The whole team are welcoming, affirming of my person and knowledgeable. My dental hygienist is the best ever. He understands my needs, comfort level and is rather humorous.

My hygienist was Caroline W. and she did an amazing job cleaning my teeth along with letting me know where I could spend a little more time with hygiene at home. She was SO nice and great to talk with! I also saw Dr. Eric Smorch who was also great! He was able to smooth out a chip on my front tooth same day after my cleaning - which I was very thankful for! Would HIGHLY recommend this office to anyone in the area!

Negative experience: Rude staff when you have an unexpected event occurs. I have been a patient since 2022, but I will find a new provider after my interaction with the afternoon staff when trying to reschedule.

Negative experience: Normally great experience. Today was just not it. Ended up leaving before could get fillings done. From start to finish it was not their best day.

Positive experience: Great staff, never had a problem taking my kiddo and getting her appointments at this location. The down side is it seems very difficult to get someone to answer the phone or responding back. So once you can get in, it’s great.

Positive experience: The visit was fine. Everything went smoothe and I always shoot for being there for at least 2 hours. I was out before 2 hours and they were nice. I would recommend for the receptionist to either turn off the music they were playing and the loud singing when customers are in the lobby. I could tell others in the lobby were getting annoyed with it.

Negative experience: dentist is amazing however, the receptionist lied about how much i would have to pay and when it was time to pay the bill tried to charge me over 400 dollars MORE than what i was originally quoted

Fantastic experience: Everyone was so compassionate and caring, it’s been sometime since I’ve been seen for any dental issues, and the fear that I had of going to see a dentist was over the top. The office staff was so sweet and so helpful, even though I was in so much pain, they were so nice and understanding! When my husband called, he said that it was an emergency situation, the office staff assisted my husband in getting me in as soon as possible. When I was seen on Monday, Josie was so comforting and so caring…..as I was in tears! She spoke to me and reassured me that things will be better. The doctor was amazing as well as everyone that had a hand in my procedure! I greatly appreciate the office for the care and support they provided to me.

Fantastic experience: Wonderful group of people! Very friendly and professional. I have no complaints of the care I receive. I seen them pretty regularly due to extensive work needing to be done, I never have pain with procedures, they explain everything and are always on time with my appts.

Fantastic experience: I lost a temporary crown on Wednesday evening. I called Schmitt Dental on Thursday afternoon; they had me in a chair less than an hour later; and I walked out in 20 minutes with a new temp crown. Absolutely fantastic responsiveness and awesome care!

Positive experience: My family and I have been patients at both locations, primarily at the Rudolphtown Rd location since 2021 and at the Fort Campbell Blvd location since 2024. Fort Campbell is my preferred location, though it is farther from my home. This review pertains to my latest visit to the Rudolphtown Rd location on February 26, 2025. The dental hygienist provided exceptional care and informed my daughter about her oral health practices. The check-in administrative team has undergone changes and may require further assistance. I have been informed that there is only one administrative staff member available to support the entire clinic. Staff shortages must not serve as a justification for neglecting attention to detail and training, particularly when issuing billing statements that anticipate prompt payment for standard dental care covered by insurance. When a document is provided for completion, it is expected that staff will review it and implement the necessary updates to the file. I can't help but wonder how many others have received bills at this location for hundreds of dollars for routine dental work that is covered by insurance and have actually paid it, without raising any questions.

Fantastic experience: I went in for a cleaning with Stephen. He was very kind, patient and very informative. Also, I met Dr. Eric and his assistant Melanie, and they were absolutely wonderful. Very good vibes from the whole staff! Go see Stephen, Dr. Eric and Melanie And let them take care of your teeth. I highly recommend them.

Fantastic experience: My hygienist, Stephen, is the BEST hygienist I have ever had. He is VERY thorough and makes you aware of what wish happening and what will happen with your teeth. He even worked on my 3 year old daughter and made her feel so comfortable. He explained each tool they would be using and even let her suction the water so she wouldn’t be afraid. To my surprise when Dr. came in she wanted to sit by herself on the chair. She did amazing and I believe it is because of the staff. Even my husband was impressed with them. We both said Schmitt Dental did better than the place that specialized in pediatric dentistry. Highly recommend them & highly recommend Stephen for your hygienist!

Fantastic experience: I went to the rudolphtown location and it was great. All the receptionists, hygienists, and the dentist himself were wonderful. Thankfully for me they have conscious sedation available since I am petrified of going to the dentist. I took my pills from the dentist and hour before my appointment and like a charm I was knocked out. They put a blanket over me and gave me sunglasses because of the bright light. This is one of the best dental offices I have ever been to.

Positive experience: I am not sure what is going on in the office but they need to figure it out. When I was seen in May for a cleaning the hygienist scheduled my next appointment for November, didn't think anything else about it, put the appointment on my work calendar and submitted my leave for it. A Few days before my appointment I receive a text that I needed to scheduled an appointment........I was like something is wrong so I call the office. The lady tells me that I didn't have an appointment and I wouldn't be seen until another month or two. I explained to her that I had a scheduled appointment and when it was, she seemed surprised and put me on hold. after the brief hold, whe said she was able to schedule me for 21 NOV 24. I said ok and went with it. There were several issues and calls on the day of my appointment, and I only mention this because it seems like there is some chaos in the management. I was disappointed that my long time hygienist left along with Dr Bryan. I also noticed there has been a large turnover at the office and wondered if I needed to look for a new provider.....My new hygienist heather seems nice and I will see how my next appointment goes before I make my final decision.

Fantastic experience: They are all very sweet and patient. The front desk girls are always polite and kind in person and on the phone too. They did their best to help accommodate my busy work schedule in order to been seen. I met both of their dental hygienists and they were extremely informative, gentil, and profesional. Highly recommend them!

Negative experience: The dentist was behind a hour because of an extraction. Then he came in my room to do my work then stopped and said he would be back. I thought he was getting something for my procedure he left me for an additional 40 minutes. I heard him doing another procedure in the next room. I understand he was behind but that was incredibly rude to stop my work and go to start and finish others. Had he been truthful that he needed to finish up another patient and “could I please wait” maybe I wouldn’t have felt so disrespected. Or maybe he could’ve just said sorry for my wait. I was there over 3 hours. I like my hygienist a lot but I’m not going back if there’s only this dentist there.

Fantastic experience: Had a hard time as couldn’t get the bleeding to stop. Ended up spending 4 hours in ER because the office was closed and couldn’t go back there. ER doctor said I should have been taken off my blood thinners before the procedure.

Fantastic experience: Empathetic, compassionate, understanding, respectful, caring people. I have never been more comfortable in a dentist office much less a chair in my life. Everything is explained in full detail, ques given and everything stops. As a patient with anxiety this was important for me, I also have sensitive teeth with gum regression, which doesn’t help. Just needed extra few minutes and they were more than willing to work with me on this and give me those extra few minutes. I have been a patient now for over a year and will continue to be so. Fantastic experience: Had 2 wisdoteeth extracted, it was super quick! I'm not a fan of needles, so that was the worst part for me was getting numbed, but Dr. Eric was talking and telling me to breath and the assistant was polite and such a sweetheart as well!! They made me feel comfortable and took great care of me!

Positive experience: I had a small filling and everything went well. The assistant had long hair and it kept falling in my face while she was putting in the filling. She should have had it pinned back or a hairnet on to keep this from happening.

Fantastic experience: Everyone here is very sweet and professional. They were super patient with me while I figured out my insurance info and navigated an emergency that happened at the same time as our family's appointments. The kids were very comfortable and enjoyed their checkups. We switched here after our old dentist dropped our insurance and don't regret it at all!

Negative experience: It wasn't a good visit. I've spoken to the office manager and she's fixed the issue. I went back for a do over and Jennifer did an awesome job. I really love this dental office. The staff is great and so is Dr. Mainhardt. Super sweet and pleasant.

Positive experience: My first and the second visit were great. I really loved the doctor and the hygienists I had a different doctor from my second visit to do my crown. I was charged a lot more than it was estimated. My third visit to finish my crown, it was obvious the doctor was not tracking from the second visit. The hygienist was nice but her work was not great to me. It was painful and dripping my saliva on my neck and rubbing around my cheek. It was very unpleasant experience. My kids had their cleaning next day. The both of the hygienists were really great. The male hygienist my child had, she even said he was 10 out of 10 after the cleaning. Thank you to the both of the hygienists!!!!

Fantastic experience: I was recommended this office by my sister and my experience so far has been nothing but amazing. I left my previous office because I felt that they were just trying to get as much money out of me as possible. But this office did not try to upsell me on any treatment which was a big relief. My treatment appointment took longer than expected but the doctor made sure that everything was done correctly and made sure that I left off as happy. Would definitely recommend this office to anybody who is needing a dentist in the area.

Negative experience: I have spent a lot of time at Schmitt. Have loved seeing the dental assistants and growing relationships with them. Here recently I feel like I have had the worst experience and it truly is unfortunate. Tuesday 6/25 I had an 8:30 appointment. From the moment I walked through the door the receptionist with brown curly hair that sits closest to the door was completely unprofessional cutting me off mid sentence when I was explaining that my crown was already paid for (it had to be sent back in for the wrong shade) and telling me that she was looking at the notes. I told her I was just explaining what happened etc. but she had no care to hear what I was saying and continued to say she was reading the notes while cutting me off multiple times mid sentence. She has no customer service skills and an attitude that needs attention. After that encounter, I ended up sitting for over an hour with no communication from a different dental assistant about what was taking so long to be seen. After 2 1/2 hours, I was able to head to Nashville for work. Thursday 6/27 (today) I needed to be seen again due to the permanent crown not being flush with the back of my gum line/food getting caught. I sat for again an hour with no explanation on what was going on and no communication from anyone. I finally just had to get up and leave to pick my kids up from childcare etc. The same receptionist that was rude was anything but helpful in rescheduling and again just lacking customer service skills all around. I’m extremely disappointed in the care I’ve been receiving from Schmitt dental. I was sure I found a dentist office I would see for years but that has significantly changed all within a couple days.

Fantastic experience: My appointment was right on time and the woman who cleaned my teeth was very positive and amiable. I will be back!

Negative experience: The staff is nice, but when they glued the same crown on for the fourth time, I found a new dentist.
