Fantastic experience: I haven't been to the Dentist in over 5 yrs. Noticed a chip in a tooth last nite I called this morning and they were able to get me in today at 330. The Dr gave me economical as well as more long term solutions to my problems. No pressure.. he let me make the cho ice. Xrays..Dr. Lee cleaned my teeth and had my teeth polished I was in and out in a little over an hour. Great experience.

Fantastic experience: Made an appointment with Dr. Alex Lee today. Was hoping to do a wisdom tooth consultation, but instead got an emergency extraction in one day. Definitely will refer a friend or relative in the future :)

Negative experience: I talked to the lady over the phone and she agreed that I could get a cleaning, a check up, and when I went in she said I can only get one tooth looked at when I wanted them all looked at. A waste of time to go there.

He made her giggle and talked about her stuffed pink cow as he quickly injected the numbing liquid which was PERFECT as I'm sure she wouldn't have let him if she knew ahead of time since she was extremely scared. Negative experience: Horrible told me a big story about needing a root canal if they cant fix my tooth, i let them work on my teeth and do fillings on 2 cavitys on one side of my mouth. Then 4 months later i have the same pain, went to a different dentist to see if the root canal was needed & they told me none of the fillings were completed meaning there was gaps ⁸that let stuff right back into the cavit88ys, either this is some scam or your dentist pdont know what their doing I should've know when she didnt come out with any loupes. Do not visit just try a different place please there is a portal for every insurance company that shows you other optioop p pi⁸ns.

Fantastic experience: I had doctor Lee and two girls as assistants he was extremely amazing!!!! He spoke and explained everything great and made great side talk. He also didn’t take 2 hours to do the work….im usually waiting in the back for 30-45 minutes before someone even comes in. I would recommend him if you go there!!!

Negative experience: Long wait times , ortho is only there 2 days and only until 4 which is a inconvenience they change doctors every month.

Negative experience: it’s a good place, staff is nice and friendly. this was my go to place but recently i had gotten a fill around February or march, and it ended up falling off or breaking. i had gotten it redone like 2-3 weeks ago but it’s been more painful on my tooth i know it’s not on me simply bc i’ve taken care of it but it broke again. im definitely not too happy

All the techs are always smiling and treat you with respect, they are friendly specially to kids and have you ready for the dentist in no time.. the dentist is as well very friendly but very direct when your teeth are at stake she will be firm as on what you need done, and to keep your beautiful smile she will advise to keep up with your appointments… will continue my care here. Fantastic experience: Regular check up... Nice staff and dentist only wish they could have capped my tooth today because caps getting old and turning black ‍♀️ have to wait until the next 6 months ‍♀️for them to cap it... Other than that no real issues.

Negative experience: My oldest went in for a dental cleaning couple hours later she was complying about something hurting her inside her mouth looked and inside her mouth and saw this sticking out in between her gums.

Negative experience: "The staff is friendly, but the constant turnover of orthodontists is frustrating. I've had my braces for over five years, which is unacceptable. It seems the practice can't retain staff, leading to delays in my treatment. The only upside is that I am seen right away, but that doesn't make up for the inconsistent care."

Fantastic experience: We’ve had a couple of visits to Familia Dental for our kids, and each time we received great service. The staff is always polite and welcoming, and the doctors are kind, patient, and professional. They made sure our kids felt comfortable during their appointments. Overall, we’re very satisfied with the care and would definitely recommend this location to other families.

Negative experience: I am very upset about today’s visit (06/26/2025). My daughter (6yo) was in extreme pain when the doctor (dr. Vijaya) tried to pull her tooth, and later I saw that the tool was actually gripping her gum instead of the tooth. This is unacceptable. She is now very scared to go back to the dentist. I expect more caution and care when treating children. Please address this with your team. Update: We had to go to another dentist after this visit because her tooth was broken during the first extraction attempt. This was very stressful and traumatic for my daughter. The second dentist had to remove it in two pieces. I will not be coming back to this dental office again and I do not recommend them.

Negative experience: I had a disappointing experience at this dental office. I made an appointment a week in advance and clearly explained to the front desk staff that my retainer had come off on one side and I needed it to be re-cemented. They acknowledged this when I booked the appointment, but when I arrived, I was scheduled as a regular visit instead of being seen by the orthodontist. To make matters worse, the orthodontist wasn’t even in the office at the time of my appointment. I ended up waiting for over an hour while the staff apologized repeatedly, but no real solution was offered. No one informed me ahead of time that I would be charged, and I was eventually asked if I could wait even longer for the orthodontist to arrive. Overall, the experience felt disorganized and frustrating. I left feeling like my time wasn’t valued. I took time off work for nothing to be done. They need to train better

Fantastic experience: Very flexible with appointment times. Professional staff & dentists. Very thorough with diagnosing the problem and with repairing my cracked tooth and replacing my old filling.

Negative experience: My appointment was at 4pm and I was not seen by the dentist until 5:15pm. Mind you I stepped out of work an hour before I should’ve to make it to this appointment. It was solely a six month clean up and it lasted 15 mins.

Fantastic experience: My son had some pain on one his molars.. Nice and easy.. 3 doritos later.. pain was gone!!! Simple extraction.. Good service.. Would highly recommend.

Negative experience: I spoke to someone from the office multiple times about the reason for the appointment. They were helpful in scheduling my first appointment. I sent over Xrays and completed all of my forms. I drove one hour to the Elgin office and arrived early, as requested. I was informed that they don't do the treatment I was referred for AND my insurance did not cover it anyway but was told I could still see the dentist for a consultation and recommendations. No thanks! Very frustrating! A huge waste of time and gas.

Positive experience: Unfortunately, it took me several day's of waiting on hold for 30 min at a time until I finally gave up. Not until I threatened to move my loyalty to another dentist was I called to set an appointment. Then went thru it all over again two days later when trying to get an appointment for my wife for the same day same time! All in all, your answering services are embarrassing for your establishment. As when I finally went in for my appointment there were three young ladies sitting around visiting with each other? Seems like they had everything under control? I expressed my dissatisfaction with the youg lady checking me and my wife in, but she had no reaction but to flutter her legally eyelashes at me as to say, not my problem! The new dentists was very professional and helpful as to my visit. Had a good visit once I made it thru your front door, but it was a journey of 1000 miles to get there! Isn't there something you might change, as I'm sure I wasn't the only patient effected in your unprofessional tactic to appointment setting.

Negative experience: My son was a new patient to familia dental 1st time and LAST time here. Dr Lee and dental assistant were extremely rude to my 6 year old son very impatient and disrespectful and using an extremely unnecessary tone with my tiny child. Mind you the xray piece they put in his mouth was way too big anyways getting super frustrated with him. I feel if you work at a family dental building you should be trained to deal with small children or don’t accept to serve the age …Long story short we left mid appointment in tears & shaken up . My son was so excited to go to the dentist he was talking about it all day and left in tears. My poor child. He didn’t deserve this.

Positive experience: Don’t normally post reviews but wanted to give Dr. Lee some props. He was night and day difference from as my oldest daughter called ‘the mad scientist’ I have 3 kids and 2 were seen by Dr Petrova(?) and 1 by Dr. Lee. The office staff was friendly and the technicians were hustlers and seem to adjust to whichever doctor they were working for at the moment. Dr. Lee was kind and present. He asked if my kids needed papers for school, where the other doctor was a ‘hit it and quit it’ type feel. He did sealants on my daughters teeth and walked us to the door like to make sure we were good. I’m sure this is a stepping stone in his career but he’s a good one! 5 stars for him, 1 star for the other doc unfortunately.

Negative experience: Been in room with son . And no chair to seat. Girl could care less just looking at me like it's ok you can stand there while waiting on dr. Seriously . They can't teach them better then this. Dr left my son mouth pouring blood. To top all that . Disgusting service plz watch your kids.

Negative experience: Very sad. I've been trying to get a fill in and my blood pressure is high. I have a prescription for it & they still won't do the filling in.they are acting like I am going to die or something. Now I have to find another dentist. Very poor service!

Fantastic experience: Everyone was friendly, speaks spanish ofc! Im glad the doctor told me that i need to wash my teeth properly and i will be coming back here to get my braces! No long waits, movie playing is relaxing and again everyone seems friendly!

Negative experience: I called Elgin location at 11am to make an appointment for an evaluation for braces. I was told they were no longer taking new patients but that I could get put on their wait list, I agreed. The lady that I spoke to recommend I get a cleaning or a referral for braces before I come see them. Mind you, I’ve been to several Orthodontist appointments and was never told or asked to get a cleaning or referral for braces before being seen by an orthodontist. I’m sure this place is great, given how busy they are, but the lack of professionalism in their personnel is affecting their business. The lady I spoke to basically rejected me and insisted I get a cleaning and referral for braces before being evaluated for a consultation with them. Really seems like she’s turning away business. I’m sure I’m not the only patient being turned down. Don’t recommend.

Negative experience: The middle eastern girl and the Hispanic girl in the front desk could have used better customer service skills. They were talking about almost being pregnant lol and talking about pregnancy tests. I don’t think that’s appropriate conversations in a dental office. To sit in the waiting room for an hour listening to these conversations was not enjoyable. My first time there and I won’t go back.

Negative experience: Doctors come into room and check you then they leave you for 30 mins until they come and see you again. Meanwhile you wait they go and see another patient Yet your late 5 mins for your appointment and they birth at you for being late. It’s more the time you wait than the time they see you as a patient. You tell them something and they still answer you with a bad attitude mainly the doctors.

Fantastic experience: This dental office is by far the best around. They are so good with kids and fast. They are a huge dental facility and they are also clean. They also get you in to see dentist sooner than later.

Negative experience: Terrible patient service skills. Made an appointment yesterday for my son. I mentioned to the woman that the grandfather was taking my child to the dentist and if there was someone that spoke Spanish there to help him. Another family member landed up taking him and the people at the office gave him paperwork to fill out that I already did online. Proceeded to tell him it will be an hour to be seen and said was because i didn’t give my insurance information. Which I did. So I call the office and the whole time there needs to be a consent form. Well if that was the issue why not relay the message? I would’ve emailed a consent form. These people obviously don’t communicate with each other! that right there is a red flag! Can’t trust a care team that doesn’t communicate with each other because of the patient and for the patient. Get it together!
