Fantastic experience: Barrett Family Dental of Tacoma is a wonderful dental practice. They not only provide a great service but I also enjoy going there. The staff is friendly, helpful, instructive and efficient. I have never had to wait past my appointment time and it's easy to set up a new appointment or rebook at each appointment. I have been to other dentists who want to add on all kinds of treatments (usually not necessary). Dr Barrett and her team give a fair and true assessment, let me know what may be necessary and what can wait or just be left as is. Fantastic experience: What a great team! I switched dental offices this year, and have nothing but kind things to say about Dr. Barrett and her team. Newer technology and tools, a welcoming office design and friendly and conversational staff. They went above and beyond during the pandemic, have air filters/purifiers in each exam room and keep their spaces immaculate. They are thorough with cleanings and conservative with any treatments, working to preserve the natural tooth as long as possible. If you end up needing a crown, it only takes 1 appointment, as they the crown in their office. I am so grateful I made the decision to transfer here!

Fantastic experience: I don’t post many reviews, but my recent interactions with Dr. Barrett made me feel the need to sing her praises. My wife, two children (6 and 8), and I have been patients of Dr. Barrett for about 3 years and have always received excellent care. In the last week however, my youngest daughter experienced a minor dental emergency, and Dr. Barrett went above and beyond. She communicated with us after hours, offered to see us over the weekend when her office was closed, and made a last minute appointment happen first thing Monday morning. In addition to this she consistently communicated and checked in to see the progress of our daughter and even over saw a referral to Mary Bridges ER. It was a bad week, but Dr. Barrett’s concern and guidance made us feel so supported and cared for. We are so grateful for her. Best. Dentist. Ever.

Fantastic experience: Moving to Tacoma I was nervous to find a dentist since I had gone to the same doctor for 30 years but the team at Barrett Family is fabulous. They are thorough, care about your dental health and the bed side manner is top notch they truly care for you as another human being. My whole family goes here now. Highly recommend

Negative experience: Absolute scam of a place. I cannot believe that all of the reviews are so high. I am disgusted by this practice and the experience that I had. I've never had a cavity in my entire life and I take meticulous care of my teeth. I went in to have an exam, and the hygienist was great. She was very professional and even complimented me on having almost 0 plaque despite having been unable to get to a dentist in the last couple of years. Then the doctor came in and in about 60 seconds decided that I had 6 cavities and about another dozen forming Be so for real, there's absolutely no way. Clearly this woman is trying to scam people into cutting up their teeth just to make a few extra bucks. I will never be coming back to this and I caution everyone else to stay far, far away. I've heard of dentists that try to scam people by lying to them that they have a ton of cavities, but I've never experienced it before. I will be going to another practice to hopefully find a doctor that's not trying to make a quick buck off of my health. RUN

Two different times, they have fit me in for the same day emergency service, and the doctor has even followed up with me over the weekend. That's her weekend too, and she is checking on her patients. Fantastic experience: A fantastic dentist office. Dr. Barrett is great and takes the time to explain things to you. They easily accommodate noise cancelling headphones (for my wife who isn't a big fan of dentists) and can create crowns onsite without choking you with molds. Wonderful 3D scanning technology!

Negative experience: They put me in daily chronic pain,I went in multiple times for this and they are just so apathetic,I had to convince the Dr that I was in pain she would just feel around and say she doesnt know why I'm in pain setting appointments weeks out from each other ,sent me for a root canal that I did not need and then didn't know where to go from there I was very informative of my pains and what steps I was taking and they wouldn't even reply they do all their communication over text ,go somewhere else for help because when something goes wrong your on your own. What a terrible experience from healthcare workers I had here. They genuinely do not care about your health. I've been suffering for almost two months to this day everyday! They didn't even care to make things right! Thanks Dr Barrett! Thank you for giving me nerve damage in my face that I have to deal with for the rest of my life and ignore your patient in pain how dare you call yourself a healthcare professional. Thought I'd leave a 4 month update here, I still suffer from the injury that Dr Barrett and her team did to me and have suffered every week. I have been to specialist and other dentists in the area and have been unable to receive help. I hope you know you ruined my life Dr Barrett and I HATE you for it.
