Fantastic experience: The thought of going to the dentist makes me nervous. Dr. Young and the team of professionals are well-equipped to handle patients like me. They fully explain whatever they are doing, and have a nice, delicate touch. I actually feel relaxed when I’m at Lovejoy Dental (formerly Rafia Dental). Once, during a teeth cleaning, I almost fell asleep! I highly recommend Dr. Young and his team. Fantastic experience: I have had the best experiences here.This is the only dentist that's in network with United Health Care in the 97209 zip code. That's a big deal for me bc the closest one after that is 5 miles out. There is free parking in the 2nd level parking garage at Safeway which is right across the street. The office is located in the heart of the Pearl at LoveJoy & NW 13th. When I first called them, they told me that their dental hygienist was booked out 8 months but that they would call me if they had any cancellations. They kept their word and called me the next day and I was able to get X-rays, a great cleaning and exam by the charming Dr. Young. I felt like I won the lottery. I can't wait to see their new luxury office currently under construction. Everybody here is fabulous. This is a great place. It’s vibrant, new and modern and much prettier than the website. When I came back 2 weeks later to prep for a crown the whole thing was done in 45 minutes. I'm amazed at how modern their equipment is. He showed me a 3D computerized color image of all my teeth to send to UHC. It was dazzling. For someone as persnickety as me that’s say a lot. Also there's a fridge of free sparkling water in the waiting area. What’s not to love?

Fantastic experience: I would just like to share a heartfelt thank you for the truly amazing care I literally just received from Mandy, Ellie, and the dentist I saw. Not only were they all professional, but they were knowledgeable and explained everything that I had questions about. You can tell alot about an office by watching how the team interacts with one another. I did my due diligence by interviewing over 20 individuals since I was moving myself and my family's dental care from Sacramento. LOVEJOY Dental consistently was given very high marks. From the minute I walked in I felt welcomed and calm- the office is beautiful and clean, and all staff that I encountered were incredibly friendly and kind. Fantastic experience: This is what it feels like to have a dentist that got all A's in dental school. This should be your new dentist. I've had tens of thousands of dollars of dental work done over the years - including having 5 dental implants - performed by a dozen dental offices in several states and a couple different countries. This dental office is at the top for me. They have gone above and beyond, including doing work that other offices wouldn't touch, fixing others' mistakes, and resolving tough issues on the first appointment. Spectacular service.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Way and Stephanie are a talented team that had me in and out in a jiffy minimal discomfort and zero pain, and without having to hold my jaw open to a painful degree. They were so friendly and professional. They also put me at ease by explaining what they were doing before, during, and after, and that's not easy to do, as I'm fairly dental-phobic. .

Fantastic experience: Rumor about Dr. Tyler - only he can fix it. I said no way. He said Way. Then he fixed it all. Wish I had more teeth he could work on. He does the joy part. Family-type staff does the TLC. Lovejoy - not just a nearby street.

I hadn't been to the dentist in about two years so I was nervous about going and they made it a very comfortable appointment. I had a tough cleaning since I tend to get a lot of buildup, but the hygienist was very thorough. Had a cleaning, x-rays, and exam all covered by insurance. Appreciate their advice, attention and care. Dr was personable and took his time, If you're in need of a new dentist this is a wonderful spot!

Fantastic experience: Dr. Young is my dentist, and Hannah is my regular hygienist, and they are both the best. Whenever I've had something urgent going on, they've gotten me in right away. Dr. Young even spoke to me by phone while I was on vacation in Hawaii, called in a prescription, and saw me immediately upon my return.

It’s hard to put into words how far the entire team went above and beyond for my son after he suffered a traumatic tooth injury during a sporting event. Their calm, reassuring demeanor made a difficult situation less overwhelming as they carefully explained the injury and treatment options. They coordinated every necessary step, connecting us with the right specialists for what turned out to be a very complex case. What impressed me most was the ongoing care and concern—they checked in regularly, even on weekends and after hours, to make sure my son was doing well. It’s clear that the Lovejoy doctors and staff truly put their patients’ best interests first. Thanks to their compassion and dedication, a very challenging experience became as manageable and positive as possible. Paula was an excellent assistant and very personable; she put me at ease right away and deftly handled the initial work and x-rays. Dr. Young sealed the deal with a fast but thorough exam and good recommendations going forward. I am already looking forward to my next visit.

Efficient, thorough, friendly, observant (yes I need more suction!) they start with the water tool and finish with the metal as needed… I’ve been there for a decade plus, the practice sold and Rafia couldn’t have chosen a better successor in Doctor Young. Fantastic experience: Dr. Way is literally a tooth GOD. I’ve never had a more painless experience at any dentist office ever. He kept me informed the entire appointment about what he was doing, described the tools he would be using before use, and worked out a dental plan that was suited to my needs. Stephanie was the dental assistant and she is kind, patient, and worked in perfect synchronization with Dr. Way. They both kept constant tabs on if I was feeling pain throughout the entire procedure, which was 3 hrs. They were nice enough to listen to my concerns about my limited mobility making it hard to come in for multiple appointments and they allowed me to schedule an extended appointment. Literally saved my mouth and my taste buds one tooth at a time. Now I won’t have to give up my ribs and steaks. The office staff are friendly and it’s a nice clean space for your wait. There was even a mini fridge with drinks available. (Not that I actually even had to wait). My butt barely hit the chair before I was already being called back. If I could I’d give this place a 20 stars ⭐️ out of 10 stars ⭐️. Obviously, I can’t gush enough about so I will say it again… Dr. Way is a tooth GOD. If this review encourages you to give them a try, I’ll just say, “you’re welcome!“ , as I can’t imagine needing to say anything else.

I always feel heard when I am at Lovejoy Dental, from the knowledgeable front office to the kind and thorough assistants and hygienists in the back. For those of us who see Marathon Man as a documentary and not a classic film, the thoughtfulness of Lovejoy Dental is extremely welcome. Fantastic experience: I have had dentist issues my whole life, as in fear, anxiety, etc. This team CARES! Had a bit of an emergency dental issue on Monday and they were so accommodating, got me in on Tuesday, and did their best to help settle my nerves. I don't even leave restaurant reviews but I'm leaving one for this team. If I ever were to recommend a dentist it'd be these folks.

She even took time to show me some flossing techniques that would help me floss more effectively. Most touching was that it really seemed like she cared about me, my experience and my dental health. Everyone that I encountered today was friendly and helpful. It felt to me like they all enjoyed their job, which also puts me at ease. My dentist was Dr Way. He was also very friendly and patient with me, taking time to answer my questions and to further put me at ease I HIGHLY recommend this office for anyone’s dental needs. Fantastic experience: Just had my first dental cleaning at Lovejoy Dental. I was late for the appointment due to horrible traffic, but the office was very accommodating and understanding. They brought me right back and I had my cleaning with Mandy. She did a terrific job. My teeth felt squeaky clean. She also gave me advice to address my teeth grinding issue. Overall, great service from start to finish. I look forward to coming back in six months.

Positive experience: I’ve been happy with Lovejoy Dental specifically Dr Young for the last few years. My husband tried getting in a few months ago but they’ve had no cancellations apparently in months. Today I had a cleaning and went to book my next appointment but was told they only have one appointment option for the rest of the year which is on December 30th. It’s June and I cannot get my second cleaning of the year and was told “yes you will just have to skip your cleaning and come in January”. Disappointing for sure!

Fantastic experience: I love my experience every cleaning with LoveJoy Dental. I always get the pleasure of Taylor cleaning my teeth and she’s so gentle and attentive. Both of the providers I’ve seen have been very helpful in educating me on how I make my dental routine more effective and efficient. I had a small chip in the front of my tooth that Dr. Way indicated he could fix and without fail, they coordinated with my insurance and got me in ASAP with little to no pain. My friends who have moved away from the pearl area have also chosen to stay with LoveJoy and I will continue to as well.

Fantastic experience: I came to Lovejoy Dental and Dr. Way with pain, broken teeth, dark spots forming on my fronts, and a half smile that I could do to hide the rest from the world. I was embarrassed to sing, talk to people, laugh, and eat the foods I love. I’ve had your typical horror stories from dentist that didn’t care, wouldn’t listen, that just flat out hurt me. That’s why I never made it a priority to fix my teeth until the pain was too bad and my overall way of life was suffering. Dr. Way is the best dentist I’ve ever been to. Hands down. I’ve spent 8 hours or better in that office (with a few more to come) and Dr. Way was with me every step checking in and making sure I was comfortable, relaxed, and not in pain. And somehow that includes the numbing shot, he’s a magician, I don’t get it, doesn’t hurt. Dr. Way has changed my life . I have a smile that I’m proud, my confidence is through the roof, I’m singing more, I CAN EAT STEAK! But most importantly, he let me be me again and for that, I’ll aways be a patient and recommend him as a dentist to the world! Thank you Dr. Way!

Fantastic experience: Lovejoy Dental is an excellent dental practice. Dr. Young leads a team of dental professionals who care about their patients. The warmth and care they take goes beyond what’s expected. Always responsive and knowledgeable about my dental health. I have had a number of issues due to poor dental work done in another city. Dr. Young has worked with me to correct those issues and referred me to an excellent oral surgeon for a couple issues that required that specialist. You know you are in great care when other specialists speak so highly of Dr. Young and his whole team. I highly recommend Lovejoy Dental.

Fantastic experience: Just became a new patient of Dr. Tyler Way. He had been treating my mother and I was very impressed with how well he took care of her dental needs. I had some sensitivity of one of my tooth so I called his office and was able to get in very quickly. He took care of the problem and I left extremely satisfied. He seemed to truly care about my problem and listened to me. He answered all of my questions. His assistant Stephanie was very friendly and welcoming and made me feel at ease. The receptionist Brooke at the front desk was also friendly and helpful. Overall a solid 5/5 experience.

Fantastic experience: I was there today and can’t say enough good things about the very kind staff and dentist. I respected the time he took explaining it was beyond what he could do with my dental situation and was sad because the photos of his rehabilitation and cosmetic work on his IG were absolutely beautiful, but I found a new dentist for my other needs and for that I am grateful. This is an excellent dentist I highly recommend as I’ve been to plenty; he’s advanced, very honest and high integrity.

She went above and beyond in my care; she was the first hygienist to actually show me how to clean my bottom retainer after a decade of having it installed and was more than willing to recommend specific products and services beyond dentistry. Fantastic experience: The staff at Lovejoy are very welcoming and skilled. They put you at ease. My hygienist was Tiffany this time and she was great. Dr Young also checked my teeth. He had previously given me a million dollar smile and keeps on top of the results. I highly recommend this practice for stress free and competent care.

Fantastic experience: I visited Lovejoy Dental for final restorations after some complex orthodontic and implant work. Dr. Young and Ashley make an excellent team; their blend of professionalism and warmth made a real difference. They guided me through every step with care, and the end result—the teeth—are beautiful. Dr. Young’s commitment to his work is evident, and I really appreciate that. The office staff are friendly and efficient and I also enjoyed the comfy seats and flavored seltz in the waiting area, though I’ve never had to wait long. I look forward to continuing my care at Lovejoy Dental, knowing I’m in such capable hands.

Fantastic experience: I visited the dentist today because my crown had fallen out, which had been done by a different dental office. I was so relieved that Lovejoy Dentistry was able to accommodate me so quickly, especially as a new patient. From the moment I walked in, the staff were incredibly friendly and greeted me right away. When I was called back, I met Stephanie, who was one of the nicest people I've ever met. She asked me about my visit, and we ended up chatting about our mutual love for dogs. She was so warm and welcoming that it made me feel completely at ease. Dentist appointments can often be stressful, but my experience at Lovejoy Dentistry was the exact opposite. Dr. Young was not only informative but also attentive and compassionate, addressing all of my concerns. Overall, it was a fantastic first visit, and I’ll definitely be returning for future care.

Fantastic experience: I have visited Lovejoy Dental multiple times and have had nothing but positive experiences. Hannah has been my hygienist and is always top notch. She is friendly, thorough, and efficient. The entire staff of doctors and their assistants have always been professional and friendly. I highly recommend Lovejoy Dental for any of your dental needs.

Negative experience: Service has really gone down hill. Had the worst dental hygienist today after inquiring further about some X-rays and seeing if we can reschedule for another date since this was not mentioned to me beforehand and I was on a time crunch. She told me we had to do it and I said “I guess I have no choice” and she said well you do so I responded “that’s why I mentioned it at the beginning of the visit, to reschedule for another time and you only let me know I couldn’t and listed the reasons.” After this the entire visit was off and she was rough on my mouth during the clean. Usually they take the time to do it properly but it felt aggressive, careless, and intentional. Apart from this she grabbed my arm when completing the xray instead of instructing me where to move it, I have serious issues on the arm currently, it was visibly wrapped and she did not ask if it was okay to touch me she just did it. I Not normally the service I get from Lovejoy. I’m going to look for another dentist moving forward, this was so disappointing on so many levels. There are other options in the pearl that will offer a friendly, consensual, and not passive aggressive appointment.

Fantastic experience: My teeth cleaning with Sophia (Sofia) was amazing: my teeth are clean and sparkly. And Sophia is super kind, professional, and fun to talk to. Folks if you haven’t already, I highly recommend going to get your teeth cleaned 3 times a year. Yep 3! It’s made ALL THE DIFFERENCE. My teeth are super tight & difficult to clean. Yuck lots of tartar & gunk. Each visit is easy breezy now that I go 3 times a year. “Try it. You’ll like it.”

Fantastic experience: Team at Lovejoy makes the experience extremely efficient and easy. From Dorothy checking us in and out, Mandy for updated x-rays and cleaning, to the visit with Dr Young. Flexible to changing weather, schedules, and prompt with services. Always greeted with a smile and overall kind, caring team!!! Thank you all!
