He also suggested removing perfectly healthy amalgam fillings and replacing them with composite, apparently for financial gain rather than medical necessity. This prioritizes profit over patient care and is highly unethical. I would caution against trusting practitioners like this—they may compromise your health to make more money.

Positive experience: I had high hopes for Portland Dental but my experience was mixed. The staff was ok and the office was clean. However I felt a bit rushed during my appointment. The hygienist didn’t seem to take the time to explain the procedures or answer my questions thoroughly. While the results were fine, the lack of communication left me feeling a bit uneasy.

Fantastic experience: It can be hard to find a reputable dentist that cares for you but I really do believe that Portland Dental is that place! Dr. K is always so kind and attentive- so I decide to work with Portland Dental on Invisalign! Don't let the location fool you- it is worth the drive to this area of town for my appointments. I never have a hard time finding parking, the building is nice, there are great views, the staff is kind. I would recommend to any friend looking for a dental office!

Fantastic experience: This dental office provides superior dental work and outstanding care for our comfort. I have never had a dentist that has been this conscientious about the work and comfort they don’t usually go hand-in-hand. No matter where you live in Portland Metro area it’s worth it (I come from deep East County). They also pay your parking in the lot to the west of the building (upper or lower lot). I could not be happier. I’ve had some Extremely terrible dentists in the past and I will not go anywhere else again. Dr. Kaveen, Sheala, and Des are my favorite but my husband has seen the rest and they all have outstanding service and care. Don’t make another dental mistake. Choose Portland dental.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Kaveendra is the type of perfectionist you want in your life! Personally, I had been praying for a dentist of his caliber for nearly 20 years and he did not disappoint. From the general good vibes of his support staff to his compassionate bedside manner, I felt completely safe. His assistant, Brie, played music I liked and chatted me up about the procedure in a way that comforted me greatly. Together, their efficiency and attention to detail made light work of my 20 year cosmetic mishaps. It was the best investment I’ve ever made and Brie even held me when I cried tears of joy! Negative experience: I’ve been a patient for a few years under OHP. I’m not impressed! They don’t return calls, access to appointments is solely the responsibility of the client, and a 40-minute billing under OHP lasts less than 20 minutes. Asking questions are met with intimidation and deflection. I only go here because it is covered by OHP and it’s in close proximity to me. They are so lifeless and ho hum…sad!!

I was very anxious to have my veneers done and had been looking for a dentist that I could trust for many years. Fantastic experience: The entire team here is so incredible. I’ve had fillings, deep cleans, regular hygiene, and Invisalign. Every step of the way everyone has been so incredibly wonderful. Most importantly, everyone addresses me by my preferred name instead of my legal first name which is incredible. Update 1/17/24: I received a crown after cracking a tooth. This was my first crown and I didn’t know what to expect. Dr. Kaveen and Michelle took great care of me and did a great job of setting expectations. The preparation procedure and temporary crown were seamless with minimal pain and two weeks later my permanent crown was installed without a hitch. I fully trust and care about them team at Portland Dental.

They're so friendly and kind, I'm always nervous when I see a dentist (childhood trauma), but they're patient and take steps slowly, calm me down, keep checking me if I'm doing ok during any process, will tell me what they will do next and whether it will hurt or not. They explain the treatment plan for me very clearly. The front office also does a good job of explaining the cost of my treatment plan and guiding me to the next steps. I'm so grateful I chose Portland Dental, I really appreciate what they've done for me.

Negative experience: This business is comfortable taking your appointment when you are exposed to COVID in 2024. The dental hygienists for TMJ care services always left me feeling emotionally uncomfortable and physically in pain for hours after. The office staff struggle to keep my records in order for over 2 years and made it my problem every appointment. The actual dental surgeons are the only nice people in the office.

Positive experience: Strict cancellation fees. It’s a 48-hour notice to avoid $75 cancellation and they’re not open Fridays. At my cleaning I scheduled for a filling the following week. Only after I received a quote for the dental work did I learn that I was reclassified as cash pay. So at checkout I provided my new insurance card I was told I was now out for network. Basically that gave me one day to contact my insurance for clarification of out of network benefits in order to cancel without a fee. I feel that timing would be difficult if folks have to reschedule due to sickness.

Fantastic experience: Was looking for a new dentist and ended up at Portland Dental— I’m so grateful that’s where I landed! I’ve always dreaded going to the dentist and hadn’t been in an embarrassing long amount of time. I have a few teeth that need some major TLC and was in a lot of pain. They got me in the following day to get established as a patient when they heard I was in pain. The entire staff has been so friendly and welcoming. No one has shamed me or made me feel bad about my lapse in dental care. They’ve been awesome about working with my insurance and budget. 10/10 would absolutely recommend. Lisa was my hygienist and she was AWESOME! So kind, fast, and approachable. I saw Dr. Ranasinghe and he was wonderful too. He was thorough and good at explaining what he was looking at/what he meant. They even have options for those without dental insurance. I hadn't been to the dentist in a VERY long time and unlike many dentists, nobody guilted me about it. Fantastic experience: Emy is a super hero hygienist at PD who helped me with deep cleanings recently. She's very careful, and did not stab me with any of the many sharp instruments she has. I left with a wonderful squeaky clean smile. She also laughed at my dad jokes, extra credit there. I look forward to seeing her next time, and also to more excellent care from Dr. Cameron, who also did not stab me.

Fantastic experience: Just became a new patient of theirs and they are awesome! The place is cozy and nice, they have water bottles in the waiting room, the staff is really friendly and caring, you get a new patient gift ($25 Amazon gift card or electronic toothbrush). The x-rays, cleaning, and exam went really well, the staff is very knowledgabe and helpful. Overall, I highly recommend!

Negative experience: My old review needs an update - You know what pathetic service does , it makes people move onto a different service provider and that's what exactly the customer service team at Portland dental did. I had been a patient for a few years and even brought my husband in but the amount of frustration that I have recently experienced with their billing team is just too much . Extremely rude and arrogant and unhelpful . The doctors service has nothing to do with it but I feel they hired a few new people and it shows . I am not coming back -because my teeth might get better but I will lose brain cells talking to their customer service team.

Fantastic experience: I hadn't been to the dentist for about 5 years and was super anxious about catching up on that but the team here made it so easy! They listened to my concerns/fears and have made everything so comfortable (well, as comfortable as dental work can get). I had cavities for the first time in my life and the dentist explained every step before we got started on the fillings to help me feel calm and ready for it (I was super scared before). Then he followed through and did a great job! My teeth weren't even sore after for very long. TL;DR, they have been very helpful, accommodating, and kind to me while doing great dental work. I'm recommending this place to all my friends and family in the Portland area.

Fantastic experience: I had an amazing experience getting my teeth cleaned today at the Portland Dental. I was nicely greeted by the front desk and met Michelle who took my X-rays. Dr. Kaveen greeted me warmly and reviewed my teeth and their overall health. I had my teeth thoroughly cleaned by Janice who took the time to explain and educate me on best oral care. She was very efficient and made my appointment such a great experience. 10 out of 10 would recommend!

Fantastic experience: My wife and I first started coming here when we moved to Portland in the summer of 2021. And it's been an absolute comfort every time. The hygienists are very compassionate and gentle, the scheduling staff are extremely accommodating and Dr. Kaveen is refreshingly honest and approachable. They've also helped me get my periodontitis under control with an awesome membership plan. On top of all that, Dr. Kaveen just replaced a crown that I received from a scumbag of a dentist in Vegas. He walked me through each step, showing me why he suggested it and the underlying cause (leftover cement from the initial crown) and even did a rush job because we were leaving town for a couple of months. Plus, he called me personally the day after the initial removal to check in on how I was doing. When has a dentist ever done that?! A good dentist and mechanic are two people you never want to let go of and I'm extremely glad I found one of them. I can't praise them enough!

Dr Fuji and his team helped me get turned around from some bad gum issues and get my mouth into healthy shape - several years running now with no issues! They're efficient, fast, and gentle. Super trustworthy as well, I know they don't recommend anything unless it's really needed.

The process was extensive and they really took their time to make sure I was not only comfortable with the every step along the way but that I’d be comfortable physically and understood the full scope of what I was going through as a patient. They look fantastic and past issues with discomfort have been remedied! They went above and beyond and I feel like I have a new lease on life! They also have a really great team and the entire staff is very friendly and attentive. I couldn’t recommend them more highly. His trusty sidekick, Misty, is very good assistant and makes temporary crowns that fit and feel as good as the permanent crowns! Fantastic experience: Everyone here at this office is just amazing. The staff are so easy going and friendly. Portland Dental goes above and beyond for their patients. I had initially found this office when I was having a dental emergency. Chelsea had empathized with the stress of it all and made it work with their packed schedule to get me in. I had multiple issues with my teeth and they were able to connect me to an Endodontist and follow me closely through all phases of my care. I have felt so taken care of ever since day one of receiving care from them. Dr. Kaveendra calls me to check in following my procedures- which shows how dedicated he is to providing high value care. At one point I had some tooth sensitivity following placement of a temporary crown and they took me in quickly the next morning to reevaluate the placement. Not only did they troubleshoot and make sure that the original mold they placed was correctly done (addressing the root cause) but they were able to tackle the tooth sensitivity from other angles by applying some extra coatings which helped provide an immediate fix to the issue. I definitely recommend Portland Dental (both Dr Kaveen and Dr Fujii) to anyone who is new to town and needs a new dentist.

Heck, there are great dentists to be found in other offices, but let's face it folks, most of the time you spend at a dentist's office is with the hygenist, the dental assistants, the scheduler, and the insurance guru. That is where this office stands out. The staff clearly cares about the patients. I actually look forward to getting my teeth cleaned just to spend a few moments with them. I know, I need to get a life. Update 1-24-22 Misty is wonderful!

Fantastic experience: Great, friendly, kind and patient staff. Dr. Fujii is excellent, very friendly and soothing, good communication skills. I’ve been going here for about 12 years now and I always feel taken care of, be it simple cleanings or root canals.

Fantastic experience: Portland Dental is the only dental office so far in the Portland Metro that’s stuck. I had visited maybe five different offices prior, and this is the only office I’ve came back to! Dr. Fuji and Misty are the best! I also have my hygiene routinely done by Jess who is so good that I prefer not to see anyone else (even though I’m confident in all of the folks that work here).

Fantastic experience: Update (1/10/22): I have had a lot of dental work and always had exceptional service from Dr. Fujii and his staff. He is up on the latest technology and gives me the best options for my situation. Jessica is a wonderful hygienist with a pleasant personality and Misty is great at walking you through procedures and keeping you comfortable during the process. Chelsea is the smiling face when you check out and is helpful at providing information when needed. I live in Washington but continue going there because of all of the above. ---------- I have been a patient of Dr. Fujii's for 20+ years and have always had a good experience with everyone in the office. They are friendly and good at listening, communicating, providing costs prior to treatment, etc. They use the latest technology and I was impressed with the steps they took since opening back up under Covid restrictions. I felt very safe there.

Fantastic experience: It's a wonderful office. The very sweet Chelsea checked me in and took me back early for a day of treatment. Misty was my assistant and was very detailed and in tune with my worries and made it go so smoothly. And Dr Kaveen was awesome.. very caring, soft spoken and gentle and made sure I was completely numb before started anything. I will definitely be back. Top notch Dental practice and I'll be back for sure.

Fantastic experience: Today I had my daughter with me at my appointment. They welcomed her to sit behind front desk with the receptionist while I had dental work done. I’ve been going to this clinic for a few years so know the office receptionist and felt comfortable with her being out of my view. They r a great clinic and I wld recommend them for your dental work as well.

Fantastic experience: Portland Dental, LLC is a modern and clean office located on the 12th floor of the 511 Building on SW 10th. This location is perfect for me since I live and work in downtown Portland. I have been a patient of Dr. Kaveen since 2019 due to the merging office of my previous dentist, Dr. Christianson. Dr. Kaveen and his staff made me feel very comfortable and welcome as their new patient. The transition from my previous dentist to Dr. Kaveen was seamless and smooth. I've had many dental procedures performed by Dr. Kaveen, and all of them have been great, as I find his work aesthetically pleasing with precision. Dr. Kaveen and his staff always explain every procedure clearly before starting, so I know what to expect. I used to have anxiety before going to the dentist's office, but I don't anymore because of their extra care to make me feel at ease. I highly recommend Portland Dental, LLC to Portland residents in SW, downtown, west end, and the Pearl. This office also offers to validate your parking as a perk. If you're a morning person, you can schedule your appointment early in the morning before going to work or later in the afternoon if you prefer.

Fantastic experience: This was one of the best dental experiences I’ve ever had. I had to have two crowns put on my front teeth and my anxiety was through the roof. Fantastic experience: Darsha, the registered dental hygienist has always been very sweet towards me and helped me out with my cleanings. There was a certain tool that I didn’t like being used on my teeth due to the sensitivity of it and she made accommodations. She’s always asked how I felt going forward and really made me feel comfortable during my experiences here w Portland Dental. She’s my go to hygienist and our conversations are endless! She knows her stuff and she’s a brilliant woman to have working on your teeth. Every time I come into the office the whole team is happy and vibrant. My visits have always been very informative and left me feeling great about myself and my smile. I’m very picky when it comes to choosing a good dentist and team in general but this place so far has been the best! I definitely recommend coming here for any cleanings, whitenings etc. Ask for Darsha when you go. she’ll take her time with you and really feels like a family member or friend when you get around her

Fantastic experience: Dr. Fuji and everyone at the Portland Dental office were welcoming, kind, and made my entire dental experience comfortable!
