Fantastic experience: My front crown popped off and I’m shocked. It’s a Saturday and upon calling the office, I learn the office had closed; left a message stating I’d be calling on Monday to schedule an appointment. Less than 10 minutes later I received a call from Dr Jamie and she said she could see me in an hour. This was a huge blessing; in and out of the office in 30 minutes. Thank you Dr. Jamie!

Fantastic experience: Always a great experience here. Dr Christian Harteau and Mary and Andrea have been very professional and do such a great job.Adding to post- just had another helpful visit, Dr. Christian and Alejandro made the visit comfortable by explaining all procedures and kidding around. Fantastic experience: Dr. Jamie was my dentist for a while at a previous office and when she left that office, I knew I had to find her again. The compassion she has with people especially with someone who has some dental anxiety makes my heart so happy. She makes going to the dentist less scary and enjoyable. Lastly, the knowledge she has in dentistry is amazing. I trust her with my teeth :)

Fantastic experience: Dr. Margraff and my hygienist Amy are the best! And when Dr. Margraff is not available I feel very comfortable with all the other dentists. It has taken a number of decades to find a dental practice that reduces my dental anxiety, and treats me as a human being, and not a number.

I’ve been a patient there, as is most of my extended family, for well over a decade, & I’ll never go anywhere else. I came to them with a HUGE fear & avoidance regarding dental work because of previous experiences, so I was definitely NOT an easy patient for them to win over - I needed sedation appointments for all work because of my fears regarding it. Now, there’s nothing I won’t trust Dr. Christian & his team to handle, & trust me when I tell you that I’ve had every dental procedure under the sun, most likely several times. I am a walking advertisement for this dental practice - honestly, how many people do you know that can honestly say they don’t mind going to the dentist IN THE LEAST?!? That’s where I’m at, thanks to them. EVERYBODY who works there goes above & beyond. The office staff at both locations are all extremely nice as well…I can’t say enough about the whole practice. Fantastic experience: Last week, the front desk staff squeezed me in to see Dr Christian. I had the pleasure of meeting Rosey, his assistant. She, like all the staff at the Dentists, was very positive and friendly. Doctor Christian as well. He's been our dentist for decades and still offers a pleasant greeting, he's very informative on what his plan of execution will be. Fantastic experience: Best dentist’s and staff anywhere! Broke a tooth, called and they squeezed me in the next day. Put a fix on the tooth and set me up for a permanent fix. If you need a caring skilled dentist, South Shore Dental Clinic is the place to go!

Fantastic experience: Fantastic staff, friendly. Loved my dentist. Cute too! I had my first root canal. Going to the dentist is never fun. But with numbing gel and shots it was very doable. My only advice as a scaredy cat nurse is…. For Dentist and helper to announce each step as they do it to calm nerves. it helps to know how much more drilling is coming, etc. Would recommend to anyone.

While the situation was complicated, every option was explored and explained. The staff is outstanding…helpful , kind and knowledgeable, from the moment you come in the door. Fantastic experience: I've been to some other dentists in the area. This is the first dentist I have been to that has actually cared. Not just about doing the work and getting paid; they also care about your mental and emotional health when it comes to seeing a dentist. While many others claim to care about patients with past dental emotional/psychological trauma, these dentists actually do care. They actually take the time to make sure you are comfortable, that you understand what's going to happen, and what you will hear/smell/feel before even touching you. It's wonderful to have finally found people who actually care, have patience, and understand that there are people with traumatic pasts as dental patients that may need a little more time to work with. They really are the best you will ever find!

Fantastic experience: Dr. Harteau and his staff are true professionals. They display excellent “chair side” manner and are very in tune with what their patients are experiencing. Their high level of training and knowledge was evident in the nearly painless extraction they performed for me. Special mention to his assistant Alejandro, as well. Couldn’t recommend them more.

Fantastic experience: Honestly as someone who has had some SERIOUS dental trauma, and some extreme anxiety/fear of visiting the office, these guys have been nothing but awesome. The work Dr. Perdomo has done has been great, he worked with me on my difficult to numb mouth and made sure I was as comfortable as I could possibly be. I came in needing 8+ filling, 2 root canals, and 2 crowns (thats some serious work) they have been great through it all. They worked with my crazy schedule to make sure things were taken care of as quick as possible. I 100% plan on coming back and continuing my oral care here in the future. If you are in doubt or looking for work, I promise you the hardest part is the first step, the work really isnt as painful as you think it will be, technology has come a long way. ♡

Fantastic experience: Myrna, Olivia and Dr Mauro all worked as team and followed a very thorough process. They took the time to ask me questions, I felt very well cared for and not over sold in the least. Thank you for focusing on the patients and not just the profits

Positive experience: I have my routine cleaning done by Mary Kay, she is very professional and attentive. Then I have 6 fillings by Dr Mauro. I have a few things that I disagree on a five star service. One, I was given way too much anesthetic—after 2 hours I still can feel my mouth and I started to eat my lunch and unfortunately I bit my tongue and lips badly, ending up with bleeding…two there was no transparency about the charges. For six minor fillings, done within an hour, I was billed for $1374, which insurance covers $955. I would appreciate it the charges can be explained to me before the service so I can make a better decision.

Fantastic experience: Having great anxiety about dental work. I went and see Dr. Christian at this dental office and the experience from entry to exit was absolutely excellent. His dental assistant Jennifer did a great job and Dr. Christian will be my dentist for as long as he is working. They have completely been able to lower my anxiety and fear about the dentist due to the caring nature, concern, and excellent professionalism and skilled workmanship.

Fantastic experience: I went in for a root canal. A large cavity was found and I ended up have an extraction and socket preservation. The dentist and tech were very comforting and explained step by step what they were doing. They made me at ease.

Fantastic experience: Was a tad anxious as I went in because I was having eye tooth removed. Checked in sat down on comfy leather couch watched fish in aquarium. In time I waited was made to feel totally relaxed. Was called in to the dental procedure room by very nice young lady named Jennifer. She took bp and explained everything to me. Bp was high, but I took pill an hour before and after a cup of coffee so I knew it would be. Very nice dentist came in numbed me than gave me shot I never felt. He was extremely gentle. He extracted the lower eye tooth and I did not even realize it. Then put a stitch in during which , as a fly tier and fly fisherman I admired his knot tying skills. At no time did I experience pain. I have tmj and ear ringing and expected worst. I would recommend him to anyone

Fantastic experience: Wonderful! I have been going to this dentist office for a few years and really like them. Last night, I felt the crown on my tooth come loose and left a message and texted about the issue. They called first thing this morning and while my normal dentist wasn’t available, the set me up to see Dr. Christian. I was super scared but they were so kind and nice! He was able to just clean it up and put it back - such a relief! But his kindness and compassion were SO appreciated! Great dentists!

Fantastic experience: I have a phobia against dentist. It’s taken me years to see a dentist. I Found out I have a cavity. I needed to have this taken care of. Appointment was scheduled I arrived, I was shaking, having anxiety issues and I was really nervous. I was greeted by a tall man named Yian. He introduced himself and asked me how I was doing and I explained how my anxiety level was pretty high. He was so nice he asked me if I was okay asked me about my family, he kept asking how I was feeling and he even brought me a blanket. They made me feel like I was a person and not just another patient. He was Just so nice and he showed a lot of compassion towards me. Then a lady walked in Dr. Margraff my dentist. She also asked how I was doing and that she understood how anxious I was getting. She told me she read my notes and understood my fears and she said she’ll explained everything to me while she was working on me. Which she did. She kept asking if I was in any pain. She even told me stories I felt so good like I was someone she knew for a long time. She just made me feel relaxed and understood that I just need a little extra care. They were both caring, supportive and compassionate people. I would recommend them to anyone who are like me. We need more dentist like them for people like me. Thank you!! Fantastic experience: I absolutely LOVE this Dental office. They are always pleasant and very considerate of your circumstance and attempt to get you scheduled at a time that works best for you. And if they have to schedule you far out they offer you the ability to be placed on a list to call you if anyone cancels. I found that very accommodating and helpful. The exams are very thorough and they make sure to inform you of what is going on if they see something troubling. I had an issue with my front tooth and Dr Christian warned me that I had a small window of time to get it examined by an orthodontist to see if it could be saved and he told me what could possibly happen if I didn't do it which I found very helpful because it let me know that it was my choice whether to act on it or not. I never felt pressured but I was informed. When it was time to get the tooth removed, he referred me to a great periodontist who was just as patient and calming as they are which is great to have when you are terrified of all things dental and/or surgical lol. Long story short, this is the best, most caring, most thorough, and very honest dental office I have ever been to. They really care about their patients!!

Fantastic experience: I have had a LOT of dental work done over the course of my lifetime (like monthly trips to the dentist for a year to fix stuff kind of a LOT). I’ve had experience with a number of dental offices and Dentists South Shore, by far, blows them all away. They understand my anxiety at going to the dentist because of very sensitive gums and work with me and don’t argue with me like other dental practices have. Dr. Harteau is very kind and tries very hard to put you at ease. Can’t recommend this practice enough.

I was just there today for a crown and was very surprised I was in and out in 1.5 hrs, no more multiple visits to have this done. Fantastic experience: Dr Margraff has been by far the most professional and personable dentist I’ve ever seen. My first visit was filled with tearful anxiety, but she was able to talk to me with understanding and patience, explaining to me her plan for the extensive work I would need. No work was done that visit. My following appointments were met with empathy and a friendliness that put me at ease, so much so that I looked forward to my visits. All my procedures were virtually painless, as she took care to make sure I was comfortable and well informed of what she was doing. The office staff and support personnel are wonderful. A welcoming atmosphere at either location. I love my new smile. My only regret was not having Dr. Margraff or any other of their dentists as my dentist years ago A sincere thank you.

Fantastic experience: MaryKay the hygienist is a gem. I hated going to the dentist my entire life until her. She's honest, straight forward, and tells you it like it is without making you feel like you're a 5 year old being scolded. Actual dentists there are fine, but let's be real. Most people spend 95% of the time with the hygienist.

Fantastic experience: As for someone who’s been through many dentists, I must say they are very informative and helpful. I would also say my cleaning with Mary Kay was wonderful. She was very friendly and caring. That means a lot from me that is scared of dentists. I’m glad I made the move to care with them! I totally recommend this clinic!

Fantastic experience: They did a great job and even called to ask how I was after the procedure. The dentist was patient with me because I am anxious about going to the dentist. They are very professional and calmed me down by making conversation with me. I am sure they made fun of me after I left but who cares. Thanks

Negative experience: First impressions are not what they seem. My cleaning was fine and no issues there. It was done well and the level of attention and service were good. However, they needed to replace my crown and the experience was vast. It took 3 hours and they pushed for porcelain which they customize on site and is supposedly cheaper than metal or gold. However, I find out later that my insurance had a different coverage than they estimated where I had to pay a great deal more than just getting the metal for a molar which would have been covered with a lower deductible. Make sure you do your due diligence before any procedure here because they seemed to have been lazy in getting proper estimates from the insurance company. In addition, the procedure to replace the crown resulted in me needing a root canal which they weren't comfortable doing and suggested a surgeon which required an additional out of pocket expenses. The pain after the crown lasted a few weeks and it's not something I wish on anyone. In all I spent close to $1,000 after insurance coverage between both procedures. This place is fine for a cleaning but for anything more I suggest to do your due diligence and get a second opinion.

Fantastic experience: Great dentist! The people at DSS are honest, attentive, and kind. I never felt like they were trying to make a buck off of filling a "pre-cavity" like I have at other dentists. They use video to show you what is needed and why. And you get to wear cool sunglasses. Very well organized as well. Would definitely recommend!

Fantastic experience: I needed a new crown. I could no longer go to the dental office that I went to for 46 years due to a change in insurance. I chose The Dentists of South Shore based on reviews. My initial visit on 4/10 provided me with a dental plan. I was able to get an appointment for a new crown on Saturday 4/15. I just finished my appointment, and it was a positive experience. Dr. Perdomo and Maria are a great team. After not knowing what to expect, changing dentists wasn’t all that scary.

Positive experience: I had several glitches with getting an appointment. I am not happy that my appointment information is shared with other members of my family without my permission. I did not answer my phone and the receptionist called my husband to change MY appointment! Also on the bottom of MY treatment plan, it gives my husband’s next appointment! I don’t think this is appropriate. But it was made clear to me that my opinion did not matter because this is the way they do it! Dr. Margraff was gracious enough to see me when I had been scheduled with the wrong dentist. She was professional.

Fantastic experience: I love visiting the dentists South Shore !! Cecilia Margraff is literally the best and so is her assistant! It feels like getting your teeth worked on by old friends every time I go there. And I always laugh and smiles so much talking that I forgot I came there to get my teeth worked on! I had to be numbed today and I didn’t even feel the needle at all!! It was amazing. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a dentist right now! Best Dentist Office Ever !!!!

Fantastic experience: As always... I was well taken care of and all of my needs were met! I have been a patient there since they have opened (or around that time frame) and would not think of going any place else! Just an update… I was there again today and stand by my review! Wonderful care and wonderful staff! Also, they have 2 offices now! One on Howell Ave and the one on Layton!

Fantastic experience: I am a new patient at this office and have visited 3 times thus far with the last visit on yesterday involving an extraction of a wisdom tooth which also served as an anchor tooth for a "bridge". Not an "easy" task, but Dr. Harteau persevered attending to both my needs, personally, and the difficult task at hand. The successful extraction and care was and is greatly appreciated. Positive experience: My cleaning went well. My appt got rescheduled the morning of due to a hygienist being ill on my original date. The office was very helpful in offering me openings as they became available instead of waiting several more months. My new cleaning appt was scheduled at 7:00 am before the dentists actually arrive, which prevented a quick exam at the end. Hopefully everything is fine and I will not have any nasty dental surprises in 6 months.

Fantastic experience: I am a new patient to this practice and today was my second visit after initial consultation. What can I say - That was a truly wonderful experience! Although, I was a bit nervous and scared, knowing what is going to be done today, everything went so well! Dr. Mike and the team did a great job and provided absolutely best service. Before the procedure started, Dr. Mike answered all my questions and explained what to expect. Then everything was done in very efficient and timely manner. Fantastic experience: They are the most professional dentist office I’ve ever been to. They are gentle and really acknowledge how you feel if you’re the nervous type like me. I highly highly recommend them. Excellent service all around from the time I walked in.

Fantastic experience: I’ve seen many of the dentists and hygienists at both locations over several years now and have always had top notch care. They are very responsive with after hours emergencies and also squeezing in an urgent visit. They do crowns while you wait…no temporary needed. They are all friendly and helpful. I needed a permanent filling following a root canal and was told there was no charge since it was for a tooth that was recently crowned. Excellent care and highly recommended.

Fantastic experience: I was unhappy with my previous dentist and came to The Dentists South Shore looking for better care after an accident had damaged several teeth. Dr. Perdomo was kind and considerate of all I had been through and came up with a great treatment plan. The restorations he did look amazing! So glad I found him!

Fantastic experience: Started coming here after roughly a decade without regular dental care. As you would expect, I have needed a lot of work done (extractions, fillings, deep cleaning, etc.). I have mostly dealt with Dr Mike, but all staff have been courteous, kind, and very competent. And procedures have been carried out with far less discomfort than expected. I highly recommend The Dentists.

Fantastic experience: The Dentists South Shore are the best I have visited in my 70 years. They are kind attentive and really listen to your concerns. I felt like they really care about my oral health. I had a panic attack during a root canal and they were so kind and caring I can’t describe how wonderful they were with me. The best dentist by far!!
