Fantastic experience: At 65 years old I needed to get my first teeth pulled, top two wisdom teeth, scared to death. Dr. Tobon talked me off the ledge , the drugs helped and Jody the receptionist was so sweet and patient with my 50 last minute fear questions. Best dentist office!

Negative experience: I do not recommend this dentist. this team failed me in so many ways. if you are looking for a quality dentist who can deliver, this is not the place. i had to come back three times to get the crowns fit right. they destroyed one of my other implants in the process of working on other teeth. the billing department screwed up my insurance a few times causing me to spend hours on the phone fixing their mess. . that is just a few of the things that went wrong at this office.

Arlene, the amazing hygienist, called me back right on time -- and proceeded to give me one of the most thorough & painless cleanings I have ever experienced -- she is terrific! Arlene is super-smart and very pleasant, and she made great suggestions about how I can keep my teeth & gums clean and healthy between visits -- what a gem! Dr.Tobon hires & trains the best staff -- what a wonderful guy! Dr. Tobon is always professional and thorough, but unlike most other dentists, he is so genuinely happy, friendly and personable, that it is easy to forget that I am talking to a medical professional. When I checked out, I was helped again by Jodi, who is so friendly that it makes it easy to pay my bill!! What an amazing team Dr. Tobon has -- which is why I have signed up my entire family with this terrific practice!

I live with multiple anxiety disorders and PTSD, and typically seeing a male doctor is an automatic no for me. However, after reading so many positive reviews about how great he is with patients who struggle with anxiety, I decided to give it a try—and I’m so glad I did! Dr. Tobon truly is amazing. He made me feel comfortable and secure every step of the way. I highly recommend IV sedation if you have anxiety—it made my appointment (which included extractions, fillings, and a deep cleaning) so much easier. For the first time, I feel like I’ve found a dentist I can actually trust. Highly recommend!

Negative experience: I was a patient here for about seven years and even just had an implant. When I recently asked some questions about my treatment, the staff told me I should find another dentist. That was very disappointing after being a long-time patient. This is based on my actual experience as a patient, not a fake review.

Fantastic experience: Even though I was in for just a regular cleaning, I had a temporary filling from a root canal that needed to be repaired, and Dr. Tobin was able to squeeze me in to get it done quickly at my visit. Fantastic experience: Love this place! I used to have AWFUL dental anxiety. I could barely function the days leading up to my appointment. Dr. Tobon was able to sense it and immediately eased my worries. He's got a great bedside manner and is very involved with his patients. He was able to refer me to other specialists that have helped care for my many dental needs. The office is well kept and staff are very friendly and welcoming. So grateful to have found this office!

Negative experience: After being told I was all paid up, I was charged hundreds more. Much over what the proposal was. I could have probably gotten over that (although hard). I liked my dentist and most of the office staff but had a huge issue with an employee that flat out lied to me and was extremely rude to me more than once. I reported the issue, but nothing was done. I am disappointed and looking for a new dentist with a professional and kind staff.

Negative experience: I was told I had a fracture in my molar and the dentist wanted to put a crown and they were charging me almost $700 for it. I went to a different doctor and turns out I don't even have a fracture, all I have is traumatic occlusion from grinding my teeth. Very disappointing that they wanted to put a crown on a good tooth. The amount that they charged the insurance for just one visit was also insane!

Fantastic experience: I recently moved from Sun City to Goodyear so I planned to change my dentist office, but the staff are so wonderful and the treatment is so good, I will make the trip to stay with Modern Dentistry of Peoria!

Fantastic experience: Went to Modern Dentistry for the first time yesterday after having enough of my previous dentist and their “used car salesman” tactics. What a great experience! Genuine, friendly staff working in an immaculately clean facility with all of the latest technology. Everyone was so knowledgable and helpful, including Dr Tobon himself. We drove 40 minutes to get there and it was worth every minute. Highly recommended.

Fantastic experience: Lindsay took great care as usual in performing my cleaning as always! She’s very thorough and makes whatever necessary suggestions. Dr. Tobin always lets me know which tooth to keep an eye on for any deterioration. Always spot on.

Fantastic experience: Wife and I have been going through procedures since last year. Wife had total replacement with implants. Her remaining teeth were removed and 12 implants placed. Her recovery took a little over 6 months. Her teeth were placed a few months ago and my restoration was started. She is very happy with her results. My process was prepping all my teeth for crowns. I had to have two root canals and was referred to a specialist. During my process I was fitted with temporary caps. While I wasn’t overjoyed with them they were just temporary. My permanent caps have been installed. I have an implant cap yet to go. When Dr Jaime Tobon placed the implant I expected the worst. It NEVER hurt. NO PAIN! The healing will take some time but when it’s done my process will be complete. The folks at Modern Dentistry of Peoria have been nothing but friendly and helpful. Dr Tobon has been my dentist all along. I had an issue while Dr Tobon was on vacation so Dr Vega saw me and my issue was taken care of. While Dr Tobon placed my implant he used me as an example for Dr Vega. (As an old FTO and instructor I loved the opportunity) We travel from Prescott but feel that the treatment we receive is worth the effort..

Fantastic experience: Once again I have to let you know how above and beyond this office goes. I have back spasm issues that can make it almost impossible to sit still. Christine tried everything to help me get through my cleaning. Finally she had me sit on her saddle stool and that did the trick. Also Dr Tobin rearranged my appointments to keep me from having to sit too long to do my crowns and finish my implant. This office really does put their patients comfort first!

Fantastic experience: This was my first visit to Modern Dentistry and I must say it was very pleasant. I don't say this lightly as I am one of those OLDER persons that, due to past experiences, really do not like going to the dentist. Jody at the front desk was wonderful and Dr. Vega and the dental assistant were very pleasant and explained in detail what my tooth issue was and what to expect. Fantastic experience: First visit. Comprehensive exam with all xrays and scans. Plan for treatment, restoration and cosmetic applications were discussed by the team involved. Different approaches were discussed after being presented for consideration. I was treated as an adult and not shamed for my condition. I will be moving forward with treatment. Update - Approaching end of treatment. Yesterday my temporary teeth were removed and the crowns installed. The fit was nearly perfect. There will be minor adjustments required but they look and feel great. Dr Tobon has been patient and professional. I’ve found him to be very skillful. His treatment path has been towards my vision of appearance and utility. I’ve found him to be affable and caring. I would definitely recommend him to friends and family..

She constantly made sure I was comfortable while cleaning my teeth and gums. Dr Toban made sure to explain everything and allowed me to ask as many questions as I wanted. Fantastic experience: Dr. Vega is amazing, she was kind enough to take me in right away. Remove my entire infection in my tooth and reduce pain . Sleeping better, pain reduced 90% by next day. She is an Angel with a servants heart. Great bed side manner

Fantastic experience: In 2018 Dr. Tobon took over the practice of Dr. Thompson at Ventana Family Dentistry. I was with Dr. Thompson for over 12 years. Dr. Tobon renamed the practice Modern Dentistry of Peoria. Dr. Tobon is an army veteran. I have found Dr. Tobon to be very gentle on the procedures he has performed on me and very important, he does not rush to get the job done. There are many dentists in the area but I plan to stay with Dr. Tobon. His practice is all inclusive. In very few cases will he send you to another dentist to take care of a problem. His staff is also great to deal with. It is now 2020 and I am still pleased with Dr. Tobon and his staff. They are very friendly and extremely careful under current circumstances. with the Covid-19 virus. I highly recommend them for all your dental needs. It is now June 2021 and everything is great dealing with Dr Tobon and his staff. Everyone is friendly and before they do anything to your teeth, they fully explain what they will be doing in advance. We just had our 6 month checkup and cleaning. Everything was good except they found a cavity. Let it be known that Dr. Tobon was watching the tooth. In January I will have the cavity fixed.

Negative experience: Appointment was full of contradictions from hygienist, dentist and financial consultant. Hygienist said we could save remaining teeth yet dentist said no. Dentist said healing of extractions would be two months, yet consultant said healing would take a year. Let's all get on the same page ladies. I was so confused when I left that I don't feel comfortable returning.

Fantastic experience: I went in as an emergency needing 3 crowns and a root canal. I HATE dentists with a passion. However they not only offer sedation but they are so skilled, kind, knowledgeable, and understanding. Today I was awake while they put the 3 crowns on and needed to be numb for it. I am super sensitive and also get stressed out with the dentist. When I tell you I didn't feel a thing! It was amazing. They really are wonderful and skilled. I will forever sing their praises and always go back to them for everything.

Positive experience: always professional, not comlaing at all, just had a bad day experience that was not her fault. I have deep pockets with my gums that makes it difficulty to enjoy the cleaning process. I may have to resort to a periodontist to resolve the issue.

Fantastic experience: I have never met a more honest Doctor! The staff was so friendly and knowledgeable. I have a regular dentist, but for anything else, I will only go to Dr. Tobon! What a great experience. The follow up from my review above.. I ended up needing some oral surgery and an implant and went back to modern dentistry. My experience with Blanca, my dental assistant, and Jody in the front office was more than exceptional! The Dentist is always friendly and honest but those two girls make that office a better place. The office manger worked with me on payment as well! Other than the wait time for the implant, Modern Dentistry is perfection!

Fantastic experience: Moved to Phoenix 12 years ago, went on the net to find a dentist and we hit the jackpot! We haven’t found anyone working there that doesn’t do an outstanding job. We wouldn’t think of going anywhere else. I just finished up with getting a new crown. It went fantastically well. Dr. Vega did the work and she is amazing! I’m 76yrs old and I’ve never had a female dentist; kind of hard to explain. Just kind of a softer touch. Very happy with this office. Dr Tobin has running like well oiled machine.

Positive experience: First time visit after change in ownership from Dr Johnny Smith to Dr Tobin. Lindsay was the hygienist, did a nice job but was rushed to get patients in and out. The computer systems hadnt been reviewed prior to starting patient care so there is a definite lack of familiarity with patient history. Front desk had new people, not familiar with patients. Noted that co-pay went from $50 to $90. Dr Tobin was out of town so not seen by a dentist. Dr Tobin is former US Army so good to be using a veteran owned business. (Dr Smith was US Navy) Credit card statement shows Ventana Family in Texas as owners but verified with Peoria office that billing is correct. I will return. update 3/23: 2nd visit was good. Lindsay did a real thorough job of cleaning my teeth, spent lots of time scraping plaque out of the cracks and crevices. took pics of my teeth and showed me locations that will need preventive care. nice job! met Dr Tobon. nice guy and didnt push any unnecessary work, more watchful waiting. will go back for sure. 12-24 update: Lindsay did real good job cleaning. very personable, nice lady. didnt see dr tobon. office staff very nice, very thorough. i recommend these folks for good dental care 4/25-another good visit. new patients need to ensure they have insurance that can be used by the office. had to change my insurance to make this happen. another excellent visit with Lindsay and Dr Vega (new dentist). good cleaning and had a filling done before leaving, didnt have to schedule a followup visit. very efficient! all ok otherwise, will return for sure.

Fantastic experience: I had a tooth emergency today. Modern Dentistry Of Peoria got me in quickly, and Blanca took excellent care of me all day long. I couldn’t have asked for a better outcome. Everyone at the office is extremely professional and helpful.

I was bouncing around to multiple dentists with limited capabilities until I found this office. From the moment I walked in, the entire staff made me feel at ease. The dentist explained everything clearly, answered all my questions, and made sure I felt comfortable before the procedure. The extraction itself was quick and painless, thanks to their expertise and care. I was pleasantly surprised by how efficient the process was, and the recovery instructions were spot-on, helping me heal quickly and comfortably. Overall, I couldn’t have asked for a better experience for something I was nervous about. If you need wisdom teeth removed, this is definitely the place to go!

I have to go 3x a year since my son decided that when was inside me to soak up everything! Arlene is always so patient with me and encourages me to bring head phones or whatever I need to in order to ease my anxiety. She is my consistent person and truly so caring and kind. She also taught me I was flossing wrong and how to correctly and not all mouthwash have fluoride! Education helps me and I have seen an improvement in my time there. The dentists always say hi. This may be to desensitize me so I don't cry each time I see them.... It hasn't worked yet. Just cried yesterday since I have two small cavaties....thanks child of mine. But that's more of a me problem as they are kind and nice and let me experience my emotions as I need to. I highly recommend Modern Dentistry! Great team that works with you and your anxiety!

Fantastic experience: I had not been able to go back for a couple years due to health and financial circumstances. Still an amazing staff, they listened to every issue I had, and set up a plan to get my mouth fixes. Lindsey was flat out amazing and took so much time to explain what the root causes of my mouth being the way it was, how to correct that, and plan a process for my recovery. Amazing

Negative experience: Brutally honest here, I love, love the hygienist’s here, and they are the only reason why I keep going back, however I am not a fan of Dr. Toban. Both my husband and I had some fillings done and our teeth where never the same when it came down to our bite, I also had a cap put on my tooth, the first one was a temporary cap and I was in soooo much pain for an entire week, I was in tears ,and I have a high tolerance for pain. I had to take Ibuprofen twice a day to numb the pain for a week, I am not a person that likes taking medication, I couldn’t take the pain anymore, so I called to see if they had the permanent cap in and they did, when I went back to get the permanent cap in obviously they had to re-numb me again which I was not a fan of, however once I got the permanent cap in I understand that it was still going to be uncomfortable , and dr. Tobin told me to keep taking the ibuprofen which baffled me and he also prescribed me muscle relaxers and steroids which I found to be odd, being that I have had dental procedures done prior and never had to go through this much pain. I am now a month out, and still having discomfort, I sought out a second opinion, and I was explaining that there was no reason to be in this much pain with even a temporary cap and following up with a permanent cap, and that I should’ve never been prescribed to take all those medication’s, I have never been to a dentist office that pushes sales so hard, it’s as if they are looking for a problem, I “may” go back for my cleanings, however I will never get any dental work done here ever again!!

Fantastic experience: Dental cleaning went well. No problems. Did have a watch on #19. They had time to prep for new crown. Also covered with this years insurance.

Fantastic experience: I have been to this dentist's office several times. The staff and dentist are always extremely pleasant and efficient. They explain the procedure thoroughly, show you the x-rays and make you as comfortable as possible. You are also told before the procedure what the cost will be, so that you are prepared. I highly recommend this practice.

His kind, goofy demeanor instantly puts you at ease, and his steady hands give you complete confidence during every procedure. Even when he uses his signature ‘wiggle wiggle’ method for novocaine, it’s surprisingly effective—he jiggles it just right to make the process as comfortable as possible. Over the past several months, Dr. Tobon and his amazing team have been helping me replace an implant, and I’ve been impressed every step of the way. I’m so excited to see the final results in the next month or so, and I’m beyond grateful for their exceptional care. If you’re looking for a dentist who combines expertise, humor, and genuine kindness, I can’t recommend Dr. Tobon enough!

Fantastic experience: I had all teeth pulled and dentures made. Dr. Toban is great and so is his staff. Everyone shows care and compassion on a consistent basis. From the front office to the back and Dr Toban I’ve NEVER been to a better dentist in my life! I’m 82 and I was nervous about having this done, but Dr Toban and staff were amazing putting me at ease. I highly recommend you go here for all your dental needs.
