Fantastic experience: My first visit on 02/11 went great. I tend to get very anxious before any kind of appointment, and this one was no different. My blood pressure was high the entire time because of my anxiety, but by the time I got home, it was back to normal. Overall, the entire staff was incredibly kind. They explained everything they were doing before they did it, went over costs clearly, and provided options, which I truly appreciated. I didn't feel judged at all, which meant more to me than I can explain. I hadn’t been to the dentist since COVID, and my previous dentist had retired, so it’s been quite a while. I struggled to make an appointment anywhere due to trust issues and feeling embarrassed about how much my teeth had deteriorated. That made it even harder to walk through the door. But because everyone at Meadowbrook Family Dental was so understanding and welcoming, I’m hopeful this will become my primary dental office moving forward. I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone who feels anxious about dental visits or has been putting off care for a while.

Fantastic experience: They will call or text you to confirm your appointment, copay, and send reminders for your appointment. After my first appointment, I was able to schedule all of my fillings and extractions. They will explain billing and insurance. The dental assistant and dentist was also very nice and made sure I was comfortable.

Fantastic experience: My first visit went very well. Have been looking for a dental office we can stay with for long time...hoping this is it. Due to previous traumatizing experience, pain management is a major issue for myself us (my family & co workers). So far dental cleaning (done on my first visit) went very well. This office has AI (made me think 3x I was talking to a person, Jan 2026) that can schedule & answer most phone call if staff are unable to pick up. I needed to speak with staff after AI booked soonest appt. & got a call back from office not long after. They have hand held xray and other technology for checking the teeth condition plus very professional & warm staff.

The environment is very cute and well decorated. The staff is also very friendly and welcoming. My dentist, Dr. Lau is also very sweet as well ! Fantastic experience: I usually don’t respond to surveys, but it was important enough for me to respond. My visit yesterday was really a great experience. From the beginning entrance it was pleasant. When I got to see Julie, it became exceptional. I left my other dentist for fear of a deep cleaning, and when I thought it would be a regular cleaning. After her explanation of what it was in detail, I decided right then to go ahead. I must say Julie was very informative and professional, what an asset to your business.

Positive experience: The office is nice & clean. Front staff is courteous & nice. Was called into get teeth done within 5 minutes. Hygienist & dentist was very gentle & made sure to let you know what is being done & made sure patient is comfortable. Billing staff made sure insurance is covered before scheduling procedures to make sure if you still want to proceed. A point off because they use AI to answer your call & screen your call. I understand that it is the future of AI, but sometimes you need to talk to someone ASAP & not wait couple hours later or the next day. It gets a little frustrating. Yes, you can say that I’m being impatient. But I needed answer right away bc I was told that I had a copay a day before my first visit bc I was not covered for new patient X-rays bc I had already had new patient X-ray at my previous dentist. Then I asked if I get X-rays from my previous dentist, then they can use it & i dont have to pay the copay. Saves me money.

Fantastic experience: I stumbled upon this dental practice a few years back and I am glad I did. The staff are always very nice, professional but still personable. Dr. Lau is super nice and always offer different options for any dental situation I am in. He is also very kind to his staff along with his patients. They also offer a membership fee as well for anyone who is without insurance. I only found out because at one point I did lose my dental insurance and paid a small fee to be their member for that year. I will continue to be a patient here.

Fantastic experience: I had a bad tooth with an infection in the bone and needed an emergency appointment. They got me in within a few hours of me reaching out. I showed up in an extreme amount of pain and left comfortable. The extraction process was smooth and painless, every single member of the staff was extremely kind, caring and wanted to help me feel comfortable. By far best dental office I’ve ever visited and I would recommend them to anyone in the Sacramento or surrounding areas.

Fantastic experience: I highly recommend getting all your dental needs addressed at Meadowbrook Family Dentistry, they are absolutely phenomenal. Not only is Dr. Lau extremely skilled in dentistry , he cares deeply for his patients. These words even seem insufficient to describe Dr. Lau. Just as important, his entire team is kind and offer a service that, by far, exceeds any of the dental offices I have visited in California. In fact, my husband had not been to the dentist in 12 years; no doubt the way they made him feel at ease changed his perspective about getting dental procedures. Negative experience: I had a positive experience with this office years ago, but what has happened recently is unacceptable. On April 7th, 2025, I contacted them because I knew I had a credit on my account from services I prepaid for in 2021 but never received. Instead of refunding me they generated a new bill on April 15th 2025, over four years later, and then withdrew several hundred dollars from my account—without any prior notice or communication about a balance due. This charge came more than four years after my last visit, with no billing correspondence in that time. I was never informed of any outstanding charges—no statements, no calls, no emails—until after the funds had already been taken. When I reached out to understand what happened, they told me to file a chargeback with my bank rather than take responsibility or try to resolve it directly. They later sent a copy of my signature dated 2/27/2021 approving a specific charge, which they now claim gives them the right to withdraw money in 2025. That authorization was clearly for a different, dated amount and should not be valid four years later—especially for a new bill generated only after I inquired about an account credit. This four-year period is governed by California Code of Civil Procedure § 337, which applies to debts arising from written contracts, such as medical bills. This behavior is highly questionable and, in my opinion, not in line with fair billing practices or California law. They even sent out an email on 2/19/2025 admitting to mistakenly texting patients about incorrect balances, which only adds to the sense of disorganization. They have not provided a full refund—only a partial one, which I do not accept. This supposed bill was initiated after I asked about my credit. I’ve filed a complaint with the BBB and will continue to pursue this. I truly hope no one else has to go through the same experience. Think twice before trusting them with your personal or financial information.

Fantastic experience: Meadowbrook family dental was highly recommend and has lived up to the hype. I believe I have found my forever dental office. I felt very comfortable with the staff interaction and felt that my anxiety as well as my needs were important. The Dr was clear with recommendations and instilled confident that planned procedures would resolve issues. The entire office operated like a well oiled machine. There was no wasted time, no redundancy but very patient focused.

Fantastic experience: Phenomenal customer service! I went in last minute just a few minutes shy of closing time, frantically hoping I would be assisted with my dental emergency. Dr. Shimizu overheard and probably detected the desperation in my voice as I explained to Gabe what the issue was. She immediately said, "I can take her." Which was music to my ears. She said give me a minute to prep the back. She completed the work so quickly! I am forever grateful and proud to say they have earned themselves a new customer. I will definitely refer anyone needing dental assistance! Thank you again!

Fantastic experience: Dr Lau is an exceptional dentist. I met Dr Lau about 5 years ago as an emergency patient. He knew exactly what the problem was and fixed it. I have had other dentists before but none like Dr Lau he cares about his patients and provides excellent service. I’m really picky about my kids doctors but after my first visit I told my family how great Dr Lau was and enrolled them into meadowbrook. Everyone there is welcoming, professional, and polite. Gabe at the front desk is very helpful and attentive as it relates to dental procedures and insurance coverage. I’m never in the waiting room for more than 5 minutes.

Dr Lau did a wonderful job examining my teeth and had some great Invisalign recommendations for me to straighten my teeth. Marina, my hygienist, was professional and thorough during my cleaning. Fantastic experience: Everything about this dental office is first class. From the moment you walk in the door, you are greeted by the personable Gabe, and the charming Carmina (who also coordinates the billing). Dr. Lau is the consummate professional dentist. On previous visits, he repaired a filling and and replaced a crown. The results were fabulous (and painless)!!! On this particular visit, I had my teeth cleaned by Angie, who does a very thorough and detailed job, leaving me with "squeaky clean" teeth. This was followed up by an exam from Dr. Shimuzu, who does a comprehensive oral evaluation, and explains potential issues that will be monitored on future visits. I am totally satisfied with the professionals at Meadowbrook Dental, and highly recommend their services!

Fantastic experience: My husband went here this morning after having a HORRIBLE experience at Western Dental (our dental insurance). We decided paying out-of-pocket might be the way to go and we were right. Meadowbrook staff is amazing; super friendly and caring from the moment we walked in the door. They have a great annual membership plan and even fit my husband in for an emergency dental procedure. They didn’t try to pressure us into anything (Western Dental did, they were extremely dishonest and lied about numerous things). The front desk staff, Gabe, Stephanie, Dr. Shimizu (hope I spelled that correct) and Dr. Lao were all amazing. The facility is clean and feels comfortable. This is our new go-to for all our dentistry needs.

Fantastic experience: From the moment you walk in through the front door, my son and family were greeted immediately like we were family. My son has special needs and sometimes can be nervous among a facility that looks like a doctors office. This office surprised me and my son was very responsive to the entire staff and he felt at ease and was able to get his cleaning completed and will be returning for a procedure tomorrow.

Fantastic experience: Great staff. Super easy to communicate with them. The space is always clean and in order. The dentists and hygienists are easy to vibe with and are very thorough and knowledgeable. I have 3 kiddos and they always enjoy their visits. I've recommended Meadowbrook to a friend and they let me know they have had all great experiences so far as well.

Fantastic experience: Not often can you say a dentist visit is a good experience. Every visit I have had here is. Dr. Lau is so personable and truly all the staff is so amazing. Had a tooth that was hurting and they got me in and took care of it right away. Great atmosphere, definitely recommend!
