Negative experience: I had a dental implant done at Barrington Dental Wellness Center in July 2025, and it has been one of the worst medical experiences of my life. Since that procedure, I have lived with constant pain, burning, and pressure at the implant site. I understand that complications can sometimes happen - nerve irritation or damage is a known risk - but that is not why I am writing this review. What truly deserves 0 stars is how I was treated after I reported the problem. From the moment I first mentioned my pain, Dr. Ferdkoff was dismissive, unempathetic, and condescending. I can still remember him smirking while I was trying to explain what I was going through - as if my suffering was an inconvenience to him. When I asked questions, he brushed them off and told me that "some people just have that problem" and that I'd have to live with it. No concern. No effort to help. No compassion. During my final appointment in December 2025, I tried on the permanent crown, but it looked completely wrong - the color and shape were off. I told them I wasn't satisfied, so they screwed the temporary crown back on instead. Two days later, the pain became so intense that I ended up in the emergency room. That was the breaking point for me, and I knew I would never return to that clinic again. Thankfully, I was later able to get a refund and continue my treatment elsewhere. My new provider - a board-certified Orofacial Pain Specialist - confirmed that I had sustained nerve damage from the implant procedure. He advised removing the permanent crown and replacing it with a healing cap to reduce the pressure. He explained that the implant itself was placed close to a nerve and that removing it entirely could make things worse. He has since put me on nerve pain medication to manage the damage done. To make matters worse, I later discovered that the Glidewell implant system used by Barrington Dental Wellness Center is a budget option that many quality clinics do not even work with. My current dentist had to order special tools just to remove or adjust my crown because they didn't have compatible parts in office. I called Barrington to see if they could help remove the crown sooner, and their response was appalling. First, I was told I'd been "removed as a patient." Then, after multiple calls, Dr. Ferdkoff himself refused to help because he "didn't agree" with the specialist's recommendation - even though I was in pain and simply asking for temporary relief. His exact stance: not his problem. I have never written a review in my life, but this experience shook my faith in the medical profession. I trusted this clinic with my health and was treated like a nuisance once they got paid. Barrington Dental Wellness Center and Dr. Ferdkoff showed me what happens when profit comes before patients. If you value compassion, professionalism, and basic human decency, stay away from this place. EDIT: You can spin this however you want for prospective patients reading this, but the facts are simple: you caused nerve damage, dismissed my pain, refused to help when I pleaded for relief, and now you’re rewriting history to protect your reputation. The only thing you were “transparent” about was your complete indifference once you had my money. To anyone considering this office: Document everything. Record every conversation. And when they tell you “some people just have to live with it,” believe them - because they mean you.

Negative experience: Read this to the end and think 100 times before you go here. If someone had a good experience doesn’t mean you will because this place all about business and rude customer service! After my crown installment my gum got infected. They took me to check what’s going on. “Yes it’s infected” said Dentist Vlad but couldn’t really explain why this happened. He opened and cleaned my root canal of my crowned tooth cleans it and put some medicine. But when I ask why it happened he says “root looks ok and no cracks” so is this the answer? The clear answer you infected my tooth after crown installment! I thought to myself, everything can happen and I hope he can fix it .. but the real problem came when 2 very unpleasant woman at reception started charging me $1000+ for today’s appointment I was shocked!!! For you mistakes I should still pay?!! I still paid 200 (which I should not do) they just pressured me!!! And said make sure you pay full amount during 3 months. They not just took my time, my energy my health.. they ruined my whole day . All they care about BUSINESS! These 2 RUDE woman even blamed me that I didn’t install my crown after my first root canal that’s why I have this issue today. That’s why I have to pay for the service. I haven’t had any problems with gums before they installed my crown!!! You should fix what you messed up without any charge and plus you should say BIG SORRY for what’s happening NOW! I left this place in tears for how they treated me…This place doesn’t care about customers.. No humility! No customer service! No responsibility!

Negative experience: Came in with a real concern about a lump under my jaw and clicking in my throat. I was hoping for some insight or at least thoughtful guidance. Instead, my concern was brushed off with barely a look, and I was immediately pitched a $25,000 full-mouth gum graft treatment, despite only a few teeth having visible recession. It felt more like a sales meeting than a health visit. I left feeling dismissed and disappointed. Definitely get a second opinion if you’re considering treatment here. The dental hygienist was kind and professional which is why I gave 2 stars instead of 1. EDIT: In response to the owner’s comment — I was initially quoted $16,500 for gum recession treatment, which was later reduced to $11,300 with no change in the scope of work after it became clear I had no dental insurance. Only one photo was shown to me — of my worst tooth on the right side — which does not reflect the overall condition of my gums. This combination of a sudden, unexplained price drop and selective presentation reinforced my feeling that the visit was handled more like a sales presentation than a medical evaluation. My primary concern about the lump and clicking in my throat was still brushed off by the dentist (even after the hygienist showed visible concern about it), and that is why I stand by my review.

Fantastic experience: I have been Dr.Ferdkoff's patient since 2003 and every time I visit his office, I have the best experience; from friendly ladies at the front desk, who welcomes you and happy to answer all your insurance and pre-estimate questions to the hygienist Magda, who will proceed with thorough teeth cleaning and provide you a list of recommendations and techniques for flossing and tooth paste. Dr. Ferdkoff is truly the best dentist. His placed restorations such as crowns have last over two decades now and it is still in great shape. Lastly, I want to add that the team has been there for many years, which is always a great sign for a great/healthy work atmosphere, the office is very clean and have the newest technology. So do not wait and schedule the appointment for yourself and your family! Highly recommend.
