Fantastic experience: Was just seen by Dr. Tam and it was a lovely experience. Entire staff was polite and professional.

Negative experience: I have been a patient of this clinic for 3+ years. It was recommended to me by a trusted person, and I have also recommended it to multiple people. I have gotten both general dentistry and orthodontic care. And I was very happy with their service, clinic and staff until my last visit. My regular doctor, Dr. Amanda Jackson (the only female doctor in their practice) left the clinic. They did not bother to inform me of this before my appointment. I got to my appointment and the whole front staff has also changed, not a single face I recognized from the last 3 years. I got told I will be seen by a different hygienist than the hygienist I had booked AND a different doctor since my doctor no longer works there. When I asked to be seen by my regular hygienist at least since I would already have to see someone different as a doctor, I was informed that in order to see the hygienist I had booked an appointment with, I'd have to come back next week as she was already seeing another patient. I explained that I had driven 45 minutes for my appointment and it was already distressing to see a different doctor that I was not prepared to see. Their response was that since I had not specified in my file that I preferred to see my regular hygienist they could assign me to anyone. The front staff seemed unconcerned and uncaring about my obvious discomfort with the unplanned changes to my visit that they had failed to inform me ahead. The new hygienist was a lovely lady, and did a decent job but seemed very new and scared to "get in there" and do a proper cleaning. The new doctor popped into the room, during the middle of my cleaning, interrupting the hygienist. I have no idea what his name is as he didn't introduce himself. He had a quick look into my mouth, didn't find any issues and left. The whole interaction lasted a few minutes at most. I was left very disappointed after years of being a patient. The whole experience felt very cold and corporate-like. I am not sure if the clinic got bought out or what led to the change in staff, but it changed the whole atmosphere and experience for me. If anyone knows where Dr. Jackson has moved to, please let me know as I asked the front staff before leaving and they did not want to provide that information.

Fantastic experience: I don't usually leave reviews, but I really wanted to after my visit. I honestly noticed a huge difference as soon as I walked in. Everyone was so friendly, welcoming, and actually took the time to help me instead of making me feel rushed. They even offered me a sparkling water while I waited, which was such a sweet touch. I went in for my cleaning, and Dr. Nathan was amazing. He was kind, gentle, and made me feel comfortable the entire time. You can tell he genuinely cares about his patients. For the first time in a long time, I actually left the dentist feeling good about the whole experience. I'm so happy I gave them another chance, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to my family and friends.

Positive experience: The practice has changed hands and it’s noticeable from a patient perspective. I tried to move an appt by phone and had to leave a message, but didn’t receive a reply. Then tried sending a message via the website outside of office hours but never heard back. I found out on arrival that the practice had new owners and the dentist I’ve seen for years is no longer there. Hygienist did an acceptable job, new dentist spent about 1 minute assessing my teeth, never saw his face. I think it may be time to research other dental provider options.

Negative experience: What happened to the well run office, personal and professional dentist, hygienists, and front desk staff? This place took a nose dive recently and we are definitely looking for a new dentist. Communication is a disaster, paperwork is messed up, my husband showed up for his appointment and the doors were locked because everyone was late, the dentist barely introduced himself to me and didn't ask if I had any questions (I did). So disappointed in all aspects of the new changes. Do not recommend.

Negative experience: Do not have same day crowns as advertised. The one I left with was sharp even though I brought it up multiple times. Then it came off on the way home.

Negative experience: I have been going to Northwest Family Dental Care for many years and I was so hopeful that I would continue to get the same great service and genuine warmth from the front desk to the hygienist to the dentist. When I walked in for my appointment, I recognised no one from previous appointments, but they were kind and took care of my details in checking in. The hygienist was quiet but efficient. The major disappointment was the interaction with the dentist. He came in quickly, said his name and went to work assessing my teeth. I don’t think I could pick him out in a crowd; I never saw his face. There were no friendly questions or conversation as such. Overall, while the service was satisfactory, I am thinking it may be time to switch to an office a little closer to home.

Negative experience: Place is going down. Friendliness is out the window now they have cameras up watching you. You don’t even know who your provider will be, you’re just a number. This isn’t the place it was. Definitely try other places first.

Negative experience: Im not sure what was on the gloves they used to try and clean my teeth but I had a very very bad reaction.we were in 5 minutes and I had to discontinue. Walked outside to get air. My face where they touched my skin and gums were tingling. Breathing was off for a minute. The smell onnthe gloves smelled like ABSOLUTE chemicals. No one asked me if I was ok ..I was told that the gloves used were their back up gloves because they had ran out of the other gloves they usually use. The young last that attempted to clean my teeth was nice she asked me if Inwanted her to use a different size gloves but naturally that would not alleviate the problem. My body didn't react well to that harsh chemical smell on their gloves ... until they change I can't subject myself to that again. When I walked in from getting fresh air the receptionist smiled at me but never asked me how I was feeling. That was super odd and aloof.

Fantastic experience: Everyone there was very kind, friendly and ready to help. I left feeling like they really cared about making sure I was taken care of.

Negative experience: Gave 2 stars because this used to be a wonderful place for the last 2 years then everything went significantly down hill on my last visit. I used to come here all the way from Graham because its difficult to find a great dentist and it was absolutely worth the drive. However, there were some major concerns on my last visit. These are the nightmare stories that make people not want to go to the dentist. -They lost my file then blamed it on a "new system" and without confirming what tooth they were working on they started FILLING a tooth that DIDNT HAVE A CAVITY. I had one apt left with them for a filling on one of my front two teeth on the top row(believe tooth 12 or 13) and they worked on one next to my mular in the back. That has never been reported as a tooth with any issues in my life. By the time they numbed me and I realized it was to late for them to stop. - Had issues with their tools, specifically one of them that disperses water and were messing with that forever instead of just switching to many of the other open chairs. - My regular dentist left so some random guy shows up for it and I still to this day dont know his name because he never introduced himself. And seems that most of the regular staff left as well because I didnt recognize the receptionist or anyone except for the dental assist. As to which seemed like she was trying to suction my whole tongue out of my mouth and made the roof of my mouth raw. - Also attempted to charge me twice after I had already paid for the filling ahead of time. And again when I was paying prior to the apt they did not confirm which tooth was getting worked on that day, then couldnt find any record of it. Im not sure if its new owners and management changed or what but it truly was a disaster.

Fantastic experience: Eight years ago we moved from Covington to Ocean Shores. We have been unhappy with the 1/2 dozen dental practitioners we have tried since. Two years ago we have up and came back home for our favorite dental practice. Warm friendly staff, quality care. Who could ask for more . So we make the trek from Ocean Shores to Covington 2 or 3 times a year, 119 miles each way, and 4 to 6 hours travel time roundtrip, not to mention the price of gas. We expect to avail ourselves of their service until we die.

The whole office is amazing From the smile you meet at the door to the last person I see I love this place even when I do dumb stuff that’s my fault they still treat me with respect and try to remedy the problem. Negative experience: Horribly unprofessional dental office! Poorly ran front office. Shocked this place is still in business. Was notified less than 24 hours that I had an appointment. Requested for a new appointment and was made to feel as though I was an inconvenience. The real kicker was when they offered an appointment in October??? This makes me question if you care about your customers teeth. You have got to be kidding me. I will be taking my business elsewhere. Not going to be made to feel like like another number and an unvalued customer. ✌️

Fantastic experience: Had a cracked tooth so made the appointment for two days out as I was not in pain. They had a cancellation and called me to see if I could come in the next day. They took X-rays and numbed me up. Dr Jackson and her team did a great job and saved the tooth.

Negative experience: I came a couple of years ago to remove all of my wisdom teeth. I was put under anesthesia, yet, I kid not, I could feel the jerk of when he removed my tooth one by one. Flash forward to today, I'm told that my cheeks or gums per my dentist have begun to cover where one of the tooth has been by my dentist. I'm referred to a periodontist, and I'm told that whoever removed my wisdom tooth caused this to happen. I just wish this was avoided and hope it happens to no one else. Now you're costing me a more than a thousand operation I didn't need until you wrecked my gums. Please do not reply, I don't need a terrible apology. Just letting your customers know what you've done.

Fantastic experience: Always awesome. I’m torn between northwest family dental care and woodland dental they are just both so great. Ms. Mary and Dr. Jackson did an amazing job! Kudos to Ms Janine and Ms Stephanie for the helping me out in the appointment also. My favorite assistant (Mandi) wasn’t there to help but that’s ok. Set up for another appointment right away and planned out for proper care of my teeth. Walking in here felt like I knew everyone they were very friendly. The facility was very nice and the wait was short. 10/10 would recommend.

Negative experience: Rude customer service representative Visited this location and asked about implantation package $40,000 for top and bottom teeth for my parent. Very rude response, no knowledge of what grade or quality of the dentures, no guarantee or warranty on it, and a very vague response to my questions. “Once they’re installed, we’re done and if you have issues call the manufacturer of the dentures for assistance. Remember to come back every 6 months for maintenance.” You guys are not get our business with that kind of service.

Negative experience: I was recently seen in the clinic for an extraction by Dr. McGiffin. The procedure was a bit challenging. I so appreciate Monica and all of the kind patient care that was provided by her. She was very efficient but along with this is able to provide many small things that keep a patient comfortable, like offering a special lip balm during procedure, neck, pillow, warmed gauze wipes to my face, whispering kind encouragements in my ear, and even gently massaging my forehead. She’s a very empathetic person. Thank you so much.

I had gone to a dentist last year and they put a crown on. I told them that it was uncomfortable because it was too tall. They said I would get use to it and that any dentist would tell me it was amazing work… I explained the situation to my dentist at Northwest and she fixed it. I can now look in the mirror and not feel like this tooth is bulging out of my head! 100% thank you!
