Visit Date: 3/11/2026 Service: New Patient Visit & Basic Cleaning I had a nightmare experience at Bhogal Dental Group and will never return. There are several major red flags that any potential patient should be aware of: Incompetence during Exam: My husband actually had to be the one to suggest checking our gum health; otherwise, they wouldn't have even bothered. The dentist appeared completely inexperienced. A routine 5-minute gum measurement took 20 minutes because the dentist kept losing track. The coordination between the dentist and the assistant was nonexistent—the dentist would call out numbers while the assistant was on a completely different line in the chart. Poor Equipment Handling: During the basic cleaning, the water tube malfunctioned and wouldn't stop spraying, soaking my face. This was on top of having to sit in the dental chair for over 20 minutes just waiting between the exam and the cleaning. Withholding Records: When I decided to switch clinics and requested my X-rays, they were incredibly difficult to deal with. They refused to provide the actual digital files and only sent low-quality screenshots from their software, which are useless for another dentist. Predatory Billing: This is the most frustrating part. They treated me like a cash cow. They performed both a Panoramic X-ray and a comprehensive set of X-rays at the same time without informing me that insurance usually only covers one. Because they failed to disclose this, I was hit with a $72 out-of-pocket bill that could have easily been avoided. They are unprofessional, their clinical skills are subpar, and they lack financial transparency. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Save your money and your teeth—go somewhere else.

Fantastic experience: This place is great! From the receptionist to the X-ray s, to Dr. Bhogal (Dr. McDreamy ) himself, they treated my elderly mother with tender, loving, care. She's been to countless dentists since moving here but she's finally found her forever dentist!

Positive experience: I’ve come here about 3-4 times already, staff is sweet, my dentist , Dr. Thapa always is efficient and explains well. I never feel like i’m pushed to spend money, but they keep me updated on the condition of my teeth and what needs to be done soon. Always able to get an appointment when I need :) They have multiple offices so you have options for days. Will continue to come back! side note: They do seem to be a “teaching” dentist office ( have not confirmed) and occasionally have some students or new staff that’s training and it’s nice to see how kind they speak to each other. Just be patient, we all started somewhere.

Negative experience: The deep cleaning, including root planing for all quadrant, was completed in about 45 minutes total, which was quicker than I expected. In the past, when I had a deep cleaning done in Raleigh, each quadrant took around 45 minutes, so I wasn’t entirely sure how this compared. Everything seemed fine initially, though afterward I noticed I could still remove some plaque from my front and back teeth. It may have been an initial pass, but the overall experience left me a bit uncertain.

Negative experience: I am very disappointed with my experience at this dental office. I went there because I had severe wisdom tooth pain and the clinic was close to my location. They charged me almost $1,000 for a bone grafting procedure that, later, I was told was not necessary. I was new to California at the time and was not working, so this cost was a significant financial burden for me. After visiting another dentist, I was informed that due to my young age, grafting was not required and that my bone would naturally heal and grow.

Fantastic experience: Took my dad in today for two root canals and two temp Crowns procedure at the same time. The whole staff from receptionist to everyone who took X-rays & did the producers were very friendly. My dad says they were gentle, checked in with him during the procedures to make sure he was comfortable and were very nice. They gave after care instructions and hope to continue having a positive experience with our returning appointments. We will Be back in 3 weeks for the permanent crowns installation :)

Fantastic experience: Doctor Bhogal and the female doctor did a really good job! I went in to take out one wisdom tooth, however two need to be taken out top and bottom. Though I was super nervous I felt welcome the entire time. They were able to relieve severe pain that I have been feeling for awhile and get straight to the point without pain or discomfort. I definitely recommend this place even for kids they will get the job done!

Negative experience: I wish I could give them ZERO STARS. They lured us over the phone and promised everything but when we got there they conditioned my wife root canal that is covered by my insurance with purchasing their very expensive crown $2,400.00 for a front tooth ?? I would not go there even if they paid us. I told them that it took us 2 hours each way to get there but they didnt care. The moment they heard that we only want the root canal and we dont want to pay the $2400.00 for the crown they just told us to leave. They just tried to take advantage of elder people. They should not be allowed to practice.

I was told 2 of my teeth needed to be pulled out and I was referred here for the procedure & they were able to do a root canal and save my teeth. today I’m 2 days post op from the root canal and everything is looking good and feeling good they explained everything to me and answered all my question. Jigisha was AMAZING she is very kind very informative I felt little to no pain during my procedure. I highly recommend this place I literally had a cavity that led to a root canal because I couldn’t find a good dentist now ill be going here (: thank you guys for an amazing experience

Fantastic experience: Dr Bhoghl did the procedure in 15 minutes taking out 4 of my wisdom teeth. At first I was really nervous, but it was done very quickly and very little pain. I’m very glad with how quick the procedure was done.

Fantastic experience: What a gem in Newark! I have never had such detailed and though teeth cleaning and polish in my 30+ years of going to the dentist. Both the Dr and the dental hygienist were understanding of my pregnancy symptoms during the cleaning and they gave me time to collect myself by taking pauses. The Dr even gave me some tips on reducing nausea symptoms before flossing which I will try! I am so happy I found this office and highly recommend others as well.

I’ve been needing to get my wisdom teeth taken out for the longest (2 years), but I kept delaying bc my insurance kept changing: it came to the point where I was in excruciating pain all day and night for 10-20 min long! I couldn’t hold off anymore so I called around this morning to see if any offices take same day emergency extractions and Dr. Bhogal had an opening in an hour! I left the house right anway and was helped when I walked in the door and everything happened so quickly, it was less than an hour and I didn’t feel a thing! Thank you all for taking care of me, from the receptionist to the dental assistant to Dr. Bhogal!!! You all are so amazing and I won’t be in pain anymore thank God.

Negative experience: 1) If your medical insurance doesn't cover all the dental work that needs to get done & you need to pay out-of-pocket, I advise not to pay for "all of the work ahead of time" (like I did), but pay after each procedure is done. 2) Before you start getting any dental work done make sure you have a "thorough" discussion with your dentist about: A) Your dental issues that need to get addressed, B) Alternatives & Options to get each dental issue resolved, C) Benefits & Risks for each issue & procedure, D) The Healing Process time frame, E) Complete Aftercare instructions, D) Out-of-pocket expenses, E) Don't feel rushed to sign any agreement to get any dental work done until you thoroughly understand the answers to any & all of your questions because there are a lot of things to consider before you decide what course of action you want to take. F) Write your review after you leave the dental office, no matter how much they pressure you to do it at the dental office.
