Fantastic experience: Dr Paul Buenvenida was incredibly professional and had a wonderfully caring and comforting chair-side manner! I am so pleased to have a new Dentist office to call home! The x-ray technician was so kind and knowledgeable. She was so calming and helpful situating the machine in my mouth. I so appreciate her ensuring it was all done correctly the 1st time meaning no redos needed! After the x-rays, and the Dr examination, the final step was a technician that cleaned, polished and flossed my teeth! The office was assigned to me as I just changed employers and got a new insurance coverage. I felt safe and cared for and I highly recommend this office for their professionalism, and patient care.

There are many other great members of the team as well, but these are the people we have worked with most often over the years. Negative experience: March 25, 2026 Terrible first experience! I never went back. I have since seen a reputable dentist. The gross price gouging for unnecessary procedures should be a concern for anyone visiting this office. They quoted me for over $3000 (after insurance), of made up problems after some X-rays, never once did the dentist look in my mouth and FALSELY implied that my last dentist’s work was causing decay. They also said they wouldn’t clean my teeth unless I paid for a $949 out of pocket deep clean. Since then, I’ve had my new dentist examine, deep clean and treat my teeth for only $170 after insurance. STAY AWAY from this Skokie dental office.

Fantastic experience: I have been going here for about five years. Received cleanings, fillings and crowns. I always find services here to be excellent quality. The dental and office staff are competent and friendly. Lead times on appointments and office waiting times are always minimal. They are one of the few offices in this area that take my dental plan and they work to maximize my benefits.

I had a root canal done and my dentist is so good I didnt feel a thing., and I'm a big baby when it comes to going to the dentist, but I feel like my dentist is so great at being one I really trust him and his team. Fantastic experience: The staff here is honestly the best. The front desk crew is always on top of everything. Annie (the hygienist) gives the best TLC, she always makes me laugh and giggle through the cleanings but is still super hardworking and thorough. Marisa (the assistant) is so attentive and detailed; she literally remembers everything about my life from over the years just because she cares. Sometimes as clients/patrons/customers we forget the employees are regular people who are trying their best. But these ladies honestly go completely above and beyond. You walk in and they immediately know who you are. They deserve all the credit in the world!

Negative experience: I typically do not leave reviews, but my experience at DentalWorks Skokie was unfortunately very disappointing. I initially chose this location due to convenience. During my first new patient appointment, the staff was extremely friendly and welcoming. They were highly complimentary about my teeth, describing them as some of the best they had seen, which made for a very positive first impression. At that visit, I scheduled a filling appointment for a few weeks later. However, when I returned for the filling, the overall experience was completely different. Check-in was slow, and I was not acknowledged until more than 10 minutes after my scheduled appointment time. After being brought to the treatment room, I waited an additional 30 minutes with no communication about the delay. Staff members entered and left the room multiple times without addressing me, which felt unprofessional and dismissive. When the dentist arrived, the interaction was minimal and lacked professionalism. Notably, there was a strong odor of cigarette smoke despite gloves being worn, which was concerning. After the appointment, once the numbness wore off, I realized that one of the fillings was significantly misaligned. It was so high that I could not close my mouth properly, making it difficult to speak or eat. When I called to have this corrected, I had to wait four days for an appointment. During the follow-up visit, the issue was not properly resolved. The dentist adjusted the filling, but without consulting me, also shaved down part of my natural tooth to “improve” my bite. This was done without my consent. I left with continued discomfort, an uneven bite, and a permanently altered tooth. Shortly after, I lost my dental insurance due to a move and was unable to seek corrective care for nine months. During those nine months, I experienced ongoing jaw pain, popping with every bite, and difficulty chewing, as I could only comfortably use one side of my mouth. Additionally, my retainer no longer fit due to the height of the filling. Overall, this experience had a lasting negative impact on my dental health and daily comfort. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this location and encourage others to carefully consider both positive and negative reviews before choosing care.

Fantastic experience: From the moment I walked into the clinic, the entire Dental Works Team showed the utmost kindness, understanding, and empathy. There’s such a joyful, welcoming energy in that space; I could feel it immediately. Annie cleaned my teeth with so much care and attention, and she even managed to remove the 20+ years of glue left from my braces. I left feeling truly cared for and genuinely appreciated as a patient.

I like that she explained to me upfront what my insurance will cover and how much I'll have to pay out of pocket. Mari did my dental xrays. She walked me through what she was doing and explained the xray results. Annie, the dental.hygienist, discussed my treatment plan, what she was going to do and why. She showed me all the things that were going to be used for my treatment . After that, I scheduled my appointment for cleaning/treatment. April 27, I went for my 1st cleaning/treatment session. Celeste was there to greet me with a warm smile. Annie was again explaining everything she was doing. I can tell she was very thorough. Her hand was firm and steady but also gentle at the same time. Overall, my experience so far has been great and I know all my future ones will be the same.

Fantastic experience: ALWAYS AVAILABLE for emergency exam within a day, and great people :) I picked dental works in Skokie, because it's on my way to work, I live in Chicago and I was already a patient in the Dental Works office in Chicago, Irving Park, and they helped me so much with deep cleaning with a laser included, and I literally had beaten periodontal and gum disease in the last 4 years. Just for the example of how hard it was, I was told 11 years ago by my first dentist in Oak Park, that I will probably lose my molars within 5 years. 11 years and they are still standing. I lived in Europe, Croatia until the age of 39, and despite my dental hygiene and brushing 5 times a day, I never had wisdom teeth removed until the age of 47, under full anesthesia and one was pulled from under my gums. I suffered gum disease and bone loss as in Europe there was no preventative dentistry and regular cleaning. And once I got to the USA everyone just took money from me for cleaning or filling me with antibiotic pills that made me so nauseous and wouldn't solve anything, I scraped, water picked, did everything, but until I finally made a living so I can buy a dental insurance, pay 1000$ still from pocket and removed those wisdom teeth, I was suffering for over 8 years. Ever since, a nice deep cleaning with lasers to remove the film of bacteria works great, and I was finally capable of putting fillings on the sensitive teeth with broken enamel and I got my smile. At this office, I finally got the understanding and respect for my budget procedures. I was coming multiple times for the pain in my molar areas, that were sometimes just an overbrushing, or crackers, and their doctor just looked at it and told me he doesn't see anything bad but bone loss, and of course I was due to deep cleaning. A few days ago one of my fillings on one of those molars fell off and I had huge tooth sensitivity and pain. ONE THING THAT LITERALLY NEVER HAPPENED with my previous dentists. That once I arrived, there was no waiting time (I used to be put in the chairs for up to an hour listening dentists being chatty in the other rooms, and being tortured by nurses who asked me what do I do for living and how much money do I make... one went so far that she told me "I could never do that, that sounds too hard"... while literally making me freeze after a hard working day lying in that chair then making me miserable lol.) I got there yesterday, I was placed in chair as soon as I arrived, got the deep and laser cleaning, (and my dentist really loves her job, I loved the way she described her tools, and procedures, but while doing it, as others would make me sit while teaching me like I was about to become a dentist, or looking for a book where it's all written, while I told her I already know what she was about to do for Gods sake) . Then I was placed in the other room, and the other dentist patched my molar that became too sensitive due to enamel crack, within minutes. No nonsense :-) And I can park my car right in front of the door, not circling around the block while clock is ticking as it happens in Chicago in many places! I am pretty confident to say that this Dental Works office may be just what I was looking for all of these years. I can plan my budget and have things done gradually, but they are always available for an emergency checkup within a day when I was in pain ever since November, and it's late April now, and really do good quality work :-) I had such a hard time with dentists especially when they would force Invisalign, Implants, Porcelain veneers, Crowns, that I don't need as I have so much of healthy teeth and bone left, I would never peel it off or take my teeth with deep roots out to screw some stuff in my scull. I suffered nerve damage from all of my hard work so I am aware how important it is to keep your natural teeth, those nerves and bones. I am not interested in any implants or shaving teeth and I am glad to be understood, and to get help to keep healthy what it's already mine

Fantastic experience: I’m a big fan of this office - very efficient and kind staff who waste no time and don’t suggest unnecessary treatments. It can be a bit tough to schedule (always ask to get connected directly to the office vs the scheduler!) Annie the hygienist is super kind and thorough. We’ve also done orthodontics here for one kid and it was affordable and successful. When one kid had a complicated case we got an excellent referral. We will continue our routine care here happily.

I had a tight schedule today and they happened to be running a little late and didn’t get me in on time, which happens, so no big deal. I expressed that I needed to be out of the chair at a certain time, and I was. She does not rush because she takes pride and is very thorough. She did work diligently to get me out on time. I come here for the precise, accurate cleanings, and I always get it. Celeste up front is very pleasant and communicative. Dr. Pachetti (sp) respects my time and is straight forward with me. I have no reason to not continue to come back for my regular cleanings, as I trust these people.

Fantastic experience: Great dentist, gets the job done right

Negative experience: Wanted to leave this review to encourage others to use their autonomy and change dental practices when needed if they don’t include you in creating your own plan of care. Came here with my husband on a day that they didnt have front desk staff, i got a cleaning that was fine, he left without a cleaning because the front desk people weren’t there to give a quote on the laser cleaning they suggested for him. They called the next week and just his cleaning would be ~$1,200 since the services are not covered by our insurance plan. They use a general call service that always had trouble getting a hold of the actual front desk people which added to the frustration. They told us they would not do a regular/deep cleaning because the only one that would be effective is the $1,200 laser treatment. When i asked about access to care because we didn’t have that type of money saved for just a cleaning, they gave the option to take off certain services within the laser cleaning to try to make it cheaper but they would not do an alternative cleaning that was more affordable. We switched dentists & my husband just finished getting 2 rounds of deep cleanings and work on 2 teeth for less than $400 with our same insurance plan. Didn’t appreciate being talked to like there were no other options outside of their expensive recommendations. Would recommend choosing a different dental practice that puts patients first.

Negative experience: The staff at reception, and the hygienists, are all nice and professional. The main doctor will insult your treatment of your teeth, dismiss your complaints, screw up your fillings, and then scream at other staff members in the back room so that the entire clinic can hear. But at least they didn’t make me pay to have him fix one of the two fillings he botched. The doctor told me essentially that the pain in the other filling he had done was my fault for being such a grinder. If you’re a masochist, you may love it here. Not really my style though. Switched my dental hmo asap.

She lies about confirmation of appointments.I've been waiting over a month for the doctor to call and it's always a run around. They want your money but cant even get the work done in a timely matter. My daughter had brace is on for the pass three years when the treatment plan was only for 18 months. Fantastic experience: All staff here are welcoming. The moment one walks in the door you are greeted and seated. The wait time is relatively short! I go as recommended , every six months. If I need a crown looked at or a whitening kit… I know the personal at this office would deliver! Looking forward to my mid-June cleaning!

Negative experience: I didn’t plan to do a review but I just went to a new dentist and they told me that a filling done at this location must be monitored because they caused damage, and it’s because of Maritza. This tooth only just started feeling better and it was done in September. The receptionist (possibly office manager) was very nice, I liked her, but Maritza overstepped every boundary and decided to play dentist, and Dr. Pichietti allowed it to happen. She kept insisting she saw a black speck. Dr. Pichietti kept saying he didn’t but she kept insisting that from her angle there was a black speck. They went back and forth for a while and he continued to dig into my tooth looking for the speck. It was extremely uncomfortable, I was trembling from the procedure which never happened during a routine cavity fill, and he kept saying he didn’t see anything but she was adamant she saw a tiny black speck. Dr. Pichietti should’ve refused to keep going but he humored her, which has now caused permanent dental damage to me. After, she said something along the line of him being right it wasn’t anything. At the end as I’m trembling and walking to the front, she tells me she’s so good at her job because she wanted to be a dentist. Play dentist with your own mouth, this type of behavior is unacceptable. If you choose to go here don’t let her overstep and if she tries then end the visit. According to my new dentist, I will likely need a crown because of the damage they caused. Then the cherry: as I’m checking out I thanked her for complimenting my teeth earlier and told her that I just got (adult) braces off and felt proud. She told me to show her my teeth, then proceeded to insult my orthodontist’s work, asked why my top two are uneven and it looks bad and she’d never do that (I grind my teeth so they were sloping inward and he had to fix it without taking too much off so there’s a slight imbalance I think is cute), then she made a face and said she’d have kept the bottoms on longer. My previous ortho leads statewide trainings, is highly respected, and most importantly went to both dental and orthodontist school whereas she just really wants to be a dentist. My previous dentist’s dental hygienist made me enjoy coming into the office and I regularly got cleanings because of how great she was. This one caused permanent dental damage then insulted my appearance.

Negative experience: I had to call 5 times to book, confirm, rebook, and reconfirm my appointment. The receptionist was not very helpful and info slipped through the cracks. Hygienist and dentist used fear tactics to try to take out my wisdom teeth - I'm 28 and have no issues with them.

Fantastic experience: Wonderful practice! I encouraged my daughter to drive up from the city to try the practice, and now she is hooked. She reported that Dr. Brad Weiss has taken the fear out of going to the dentist.

Negative experience: It’s been some time since I’ve been there. My mom who had Dementia was a customer for 20 years (at the old Sears in Golf Mill and then this location). She’d talk about how he kept having her come back, time after time. After she made her transition, I started seeing him. Big mistake! He’s a kind dentist, however, I would never recommend his services. Please don’t gamble with your oral hygiene.

Fantastic experience: This team makes me hate the dentist a lot less! Lbvs Its not impossible to schedule an appointment, everyone is very friendly and professional, and they do their best to make you feel comfortable and understand whats going on. I'll def be back!

Never judge about my teeth only recommendation to have health gum and teeth. I can’t thank them for take care of dental hygine.

Fantastic experience: Not going to lie I was a bit hesitant to go here because it’s kind of a chain dentistry, but very professional. My root canal got fractured by my braces and the dentist took me right away for an apt and they even had a periodontist on board (only is there once a month). They had to talk to my orthodontist which they did in a timely manner. The day of the extraction I didn’t feel any pain what so ever and he did his job well. Everything went smoothly. I recommend!

Fantastic experience: I’ve been seeing Dr. Piccheti and Annie (the hygienist) since 2019 and will likely stay with them until one or both of them leave the practice. Annie is the nicest hygienist I’ve ever had. She always is incredibly informative, letting you know what she is doing before she starts even after years of cleanings, which I think is so important and has helped so much with my previous anxiety about going to the dentist. She also does a great job of explaining additional services beyond a standard cleaning (laser treatment, irrigation, fluoride) without making you feel like she is trying to upsell you or push unnecessary treatments on you. Both her and Dr. Piccheti offer a judgment free environment, noting any progress or areas of improvement in my dental health without making me feel embarrassed or ashamed about it. I also can’t leave this review without mentioning Celeste and the rest of the front desk staff. They are also are incredibly kind, always greeting you upon arrival and making you feel calm and comfortable from the moment up walk in. 15/10

Negative experience: Very caring. Clients come first. What a difference 2 months make. I had an abscess on a tooth the Dr. Put the crown on. I was able to get in the office at 12. I did have to wait a while. No big deal. I finally get an X-ray and Marrisa and the doctor are talking about antibiotics.ok all of a sudden they want me to go to an endocrinologist. No real explanation. I tell them if it is going to cost any can we wait until Friday. I was told there's no cost with the referral for me to call the endocrinologist they are referring me to. Ok. I just wanted to be out of pain. I get there they prescribed me antibiotics and pain killers.160.00 dollars later ( it seems the endocrinologist was not in network.). Thanks Dental works for getting your claim in and getting paid for doing nothing except an X-ray and costing me 160.00. I won't believe you bs ever again. Reply I will not be reaching out to you. If you would like to speak to me, you have my number . Thank you for the generic reply

Fantastic experience: It was a great experience. Staff was very accommodating and explained every thing they were doing. I felt very secure and comfortable.

Fantastic experience: Staff is courteous and friendly. Dentist is knowledgeable and thorough. Hygienist is gentle and thorough. Wait times are minimal.

Negative experience: my appoint ment was at 12 noon. as i was leaving home at about 11:50 i got a call telling me not to come in until 1 pm. got there at 1 and waited til 1:40 to be called in for my cleaning. the previous patient was gone at 1:20 and then the tech went into the back to have a good time with her co workers before calling me in. i could hear them laughing and having fun while i waited. i walked out and will not return!

Negative experience: Good luck trying to reach someone in the office. They don’t seem to have a front desk and no one ever answers their phone. Always directed to an outside service who doesn’t seem to know anything. Seems like a very shady operation. Scheduled appointments but was informed later on that we had to reschedule due to them double booking appts. I have cancelled my 3 appointments and will be going elsewhere. JOKE!!!

Fantastic experience: I’ve been coming to this location for a while now, and the people are great. Celeste up front is nice and always helpful. Annie is very friendly and does a great job cleaning my teeth. Maritza does a great job on my teeth when I need a bit more done, and she’s always looking out for my best interest. She helped fix some chips in my front teeth last week, and they look amazing! Dr. Picchetti is pleasant and does a good job with everything too.
