Fantastic experience: I accompanied my sister and liked the thorough explanations she got so much that I asked to be seen, and they so kindly squeezed me in right after her. Gus was at the reception and answered my many questions, so he was super nice (though I believe he’s at other locations sometimes). Madeleine was the dental assistant and was very nice. Dental x-rays hurt me sometimes, but she was very patient. Tamara, hygienist, was over the top amazing. She did a super thorough clean, explained everything well, and was very nice. Thank God I had a great experience!

Fantastic experience: I truly don’t do reviews hardly ever- not good. However, When people exceed my expectations in all areas, I need to let Them know. From the officer manager who thoughtfully went over in great detail all the aspects of my care plan and even spent extra time to double check with the insurance company on benefits to the Hygenist who did an excellent job evaluating gum issues and suggested intervention- she was a great educator- very caring. Additionally, the assistant and dentist acted With great expertise and politeness. They were plain nice. It is never a pleasant thing to go to the dentist, and it’s not the most pleasant thing to rethink it and give a review. But they deserve It. God bless your business!!!

Fantastic experience: I had an excellent experience today at West Spring Dental Care from start to finish. The front desk receptionist, Elvia, and assistant Donya, were incredibly welcoming, friendly, and polite, which immediately set a positive tone for my visit. Dr. Gilbert was just as warm and professional, making me feel comfortable and well cared for. I want to express special thanks and appreciation to the dental hygienist (Tamara) who performed my cleaning. She was exceptionally thorough and demonstrated outstanding attention to detail while cleaning my teeth. She took time to explain my treatment plan, and she also provided me a ton of valuable recommendations to help ensure that my oral hygiene stays in tip top shape moving forward! She was incredibly patient with me throughout the entire appointment…I tend to have a bit of anxiety during dentist office visits, but Tamara made me feel super comfortable and helped to ease my fears. This is one of the best cleaning experiences I’ve had in many years, and based on my results I can tell that her efforts made a noticeable difference! Negative experience: For Owner's attention from very dissatisfied patient: In past October I had five cavities filling and teeth cleaning procedures scheduled on same day. At the end of cavities filling the proper teeth cleaning didn't happen and I had to schedule separate cleaning with hygienist in January (she didn't have earlier openings due to working part time). Dentist's excuse to not properly clean teeth on the initial day was that "You took good care of your teeth flossing them". As soon as I got out of the dentist office the gums started hurting each time I breathed the air and they became extremely sensitive. I feel my needs were neglected and I lost a lot of time being confused why gums were hurting which resulted in gum disease worsening more. Also, for about a month now one of cavities on left bottom that had filling are hurting. I request refund for that cavity and for cleaning that didn't happen on the initial day. Prior to cavities filling I had scheduled 2 wisdom teeth removal. One day before that procedure in the morning I came to the office and asked Elvia the manager if I would be able to work tomorrow after wisdom teeth removal. She said yes, you can drive and work. On the day of wisdom teeth removal I came and was ready. Then the nurse gave me the whole page to sign were it was stated I have to rest all day and need to apply all day something to the teeth to make them heal. I notified that I came the day before and Elvia said I could work and drive and I was not notified about after teeth removal home procedures, otherwise I would have canceled. So, after that I had to leave the office since there was no way I could cancel work. I was able to move that teeth removal to June, and today requested a full refund for the October appointment that they charged me on but did not provide services. Overall, I am extremely dissatisfied with the experience of calling since each time it happens through the call center and I would like to speak to the office employees directly since they know my situation. Though last time I spoke with the office employee and she was rude when she couldn't hear what I was saying. Only after I also changed my tone she changed hers back to normal. I find it highly inappropriate to talk in such way with the customers. Can't remember her name. Please note, I tried to have proper cleaning procedures to be done in this office and talked to Elvia today, but only same Doctor is available and they hours don't work now, since I have to sit home with special needs child full time now and the office closes at 4pm. I need to find other place that has extended hours to treat that cavity. To summarize, requesting a refund for procedures that didn't happen but I was charged for: proper teeth cleaning, 2 wisdom teeth removal. And requesting a refund for one cavity filling that started hurting in November. Thank you, Saule Garcia.

Fantastic experience: Dr.Gilbert and the staff is amazing. They made me feel very comfortable. I was fresh out of major surgery for my shoulder and the anesthesiologist knocked my crown out when they placed the breathing tube in my throat. After shoulder surgery you can’t lay all the way back however Dr.Gilbert was very accommodating and extremely gentle. Dr.Gilbert and the entire staff is great 10/10 I highly recommend this dental office for all your dental needs. Not to mention I was traumatized by a dentist years ago. I’m extremely happy with the service I received. He also has a great personality.

Negative experience: Doesn’t take Medicaid but claims to and instead of doing what my insurance covered. I was asked to leave. No biggie. If you got the money to spend it’s nice but if not don’t bother. Wasted 2 hrs I can’t get back. I called in advance to verify my insurance but wasted gas and time.

Fantastic experience: I am a retired U.S. Navy veteran of 26-years. My service left me with a lot of unattended dental needs. I have been on a year long journey of major restorative work involving 6 crowns, upper and lower partials and other work. All of the staff (Liquita, Joy, Diana, Crystal, and others) and my Dentist (Dr Gilbert) have been an absolute delight to work with.

Negative experience: I will not be returning to this dentist office EVER again.I would rather let every single one of my teeth fall out of my mouth first. Additionally,I will advise all my friends (13 patients )who go there to find another dentist.Yesterday, the front desk personnel yells out that I didn’t have insurance in front everyone.I was so embarrassed and my son felt so uncomfortable he wanted to leave.I literally had a yelling match in front desk person (Hispanic female) in front of everyone because she try to say I gave her the wrong information.I called the insurance company on speaker phone so they confirmed that I did have insurance and sad part is they billed my insurance back in April 2025 clearly they had my insurance information the whole time.Additionally, the other receptionist (African American female) attempted to take up for her by telling me after everything was over that I was acting black and the other girl was her friend( as if that had anything to do with professionalism).The front desk is completely unprofessional and has completely violated my HIPPA rights.I will possibly be filing a lawsuit.

Fantastic experience: I was introduced to west spring and its staff in the aftermath of a very traumatic time where I totaled my car and lost my front tooth. The aftermath saw me visiting multiple times for various extensive procedures including the inclusion of 2 crowns and a deep cleaning. Although the procedures themselves weren’t the most pleasant given the circumstances, I must say that i thoroughly enjoyed my time getting to know everyone including Tamara the Hygienist, who always managed to put a smile on my face and even made me laugh during some of my darkest moments

From the front office receptionist, to the technician that took my x-rays, to the dentist who was one of the most attentive dentist ever! They were able to get me in on a Friday with no appointment! The exam was so through and the diagnosis was accurate. More than I have ever gotten with my past Dentist Office in which I had gone to in the past! I high recommend West Spring Dental Care! The recommendations are thoroughly explained, and you will know that the procedures really do have a purpose. Negative experience: Great Dentist, But Terrible Office Policies Dr. Mwanyange is a wonderful dentist — both my husband and I truly respect and appreciate his care and professionalism. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for West Spring Dental Care’s business practices. As new patients, we were immediately charged for services we didn’t necessarily want or need. Specifically, we were told a panoramic x-ray was required for all new patients — even though our insurance doesn’t cover it. No pano, no service. We traveled an hour from Katy for our appointments, only to be told we had no choice. That felt unfair and inflexible. The treatment plan presented was also unreasonable. I was told I needed three crowns, but my insurance only covers porcelain fused to metal crowns. The office manager informed me that the practice does not allow this crown type — even though it’s what my plan covers. Instead, I was pressured toward crowns costing nearly $1,000 each — far beyond the $465 I would’ve paid with insurance. That’s not just frustrating — it feels manipulative. To make things worse, additional charges were included in my cleaning plan that I specifically asked about. When I questioned whether those services were necessary, I was told they weren’t — so why were they included without clear explanation? Treatment plans should distinguish between what is recommended and what is required. Bottom line: We love Dr. Mwanyange and wish he practiced elsewhere. West Spring Dental Care’s policies are rigid, profit-driven, and not patient-friendly. Patients deserve transparency, options, and respect for their time and finances.

Fantastic experience: Everyone there is an amazing job. They ensured my comfort throughout the entire multiple-hour Six teeth crown appointment. They replaced all of my top front teeth, and now it feels like I have a brand-new smile.

Negative experience: Went to West Spring Dental Care today, and the receptionist had a VERY TERRIBLE attitude. Her professionalism was terrible! Her attitude, terrible and her lack of communication and respect was terrible!!! I’m not going back! You’re Not going to treat Me as though I mean Nothing. Negative experience: They were unable to do even a basic cleaning due to having ONLY ONE DENTIST AVAILABLE, they told me I have to come back another day, even tho I have a broken tooth that hurts like hell, some girl kept talking over me as if she was a doctor, when in reality she a front desk pworker, I strongly recommend a different dentist, I guess a place where you can have your teeth cleaned that same day and not having to wait for them....

Negative experience: I made an appointment for 7:00am. They said their internet or some kind of system was having issues, so I waited around for 45 minutes. Nobody offered water, coffee or anything. After getting fed up on waiting, I asked if I could reschedule, they said they couldn’t because the system was down… They could’ve grabbed my phone number and called me back when your system was running, but no. I took a day off work for this appointment just to get told to kick rocks. I understand that these things happen with internet outages, but they didn’t do anything to help the situation. They just let me sit in the lobby alone until I decided to leave. Very unprofessional.

Negative experience: I wish I could give zero stars I had a very disappointing experience with this office. The secretary called me early in the morning with an attitude, demanding insurance information that I had already attempted to provide the previous day. Instead of handling the situation professionally, she was rude and dismissive. Customer service is just as important as medical care, and I will not be bringing my sons somewhere I don’t feel comfortable or respected. If you value professionalism and kindness, I would think twice before coming here.

Negative experience: Terrible decision to come by to this place for my wisdom teeth appointment/ assessment. They charged me even tho my insurance covered my appointment and my X-rays. I eventually went somewhere else and I paid 0 dollars for those same X-rays & even a free deep cleaning using my same insurance company. Go somewhere else please , don’t get ripped off and they don’t even have an oral surgeon there even if I wanted to get my wisdom teeth removed they wouldn’t even have done it there.

Negative experience: I called to 2 days before getting an appointment because no one in the office would answer the phone. Today I was asked to have X-rays before seeing the dentist then the dentist told me he couldn’t help me because I was on blood thinners. I would think they would have asked about blood thinners before I had X-rays and wasting my time and dentists time.

Negative experience: Been trying to get a hold of them over a month for a referral for dental work with my insurance. Never get an answer.

Negative experience: My gosh- good luck trying to get ahold of the office when you need a referral. I have tried MULTIPLE different times of the day of a span of two weeks to get in touch with the office for a referral that needs to be submitted to the wisdom tooth dentist. After trying and trying, I finally got through to the office manager. When I stated I just needed them to complete the referral form that was faxed over, she responded with ‘oh.. I’ll see if I know how to fill it out and will send it back’. I did receive it back and sent it over to the other dentist. I get a call stating that it is missing information, including the teeth numbers that need to be removed and the office Cigna contract number. Frustrated, I emailed the office manager back with West Spring. No response. I have tried to call the office again.. and still to no avail been able to reach a person in the ACTUAL office to help me. They have outsourced their customer service to what seems like people overseas, and the individuals who answer the phones are also unable to get ahold of the office and continue to state to “call back at another time”. This is incredibly frustrating and honestly, once I have the referral, I will not be back to this office.

Negative experience: My daughter and I had an appointment scheduled for this morning and they called me 30 minutes before the appointment to reschedule. They claimed it was due to over booking however they told me they had an extensive procedure to be done and the patient was already there. I believe they scheduled this patient after I had already had my appointment scheduled and confirmed on Thursday because they would make more money. I will be looking for a new dentist!

Negative experience: I had an awful experience here. They refused to do an exam without taking x-rays first. They told me they verified the x-rays were covered by insurance. I signed a document confirming the visit costs. They ended up not even giving me a cleaning after looking at my teeth since their front desk scheduled the appointment wrong. Then I got a surprise bill saying the x-rays they forced me to get were not covered by insurance. I called multiple times and spent hours on hold. No one would return voicemails. Finally someone confirmed that I should not have to pay. I spent a year getting bills and debt collection mail. It stopped for awhile, but I just got a bill from another debt collector. I regret ever going to this office, and would warn anyone else not to go there.

Negative experience: I got fitted for a mouth guard. They wouldn't mail it to me, but instead decided to have me drive 45 minutes to pick it up. Where they then tried to clean my teeth (probably trying to get more money out of the VA). After they brought the mouth guard in, it didn't fit. The lady then tried to force it over my teeth. Still didn't fit. Just falls right off my teeth. There, I left your review. Stop texting me.

I was sent there by the VA normally I be hesitant about seeing different doctors once I’ve established a relationship with one, however they make you feel at home. The only downside I have and I’m sure it was an isolated incident, some lady was trying to clean room while I was in there, dentist had left out. I had to tell her to leave out and not clean while I was in room.

Fantastic experience: The staff were all so nice and helpful. The dentist is honest and really shows that he cares about his patients.

Fantastic experience: Went in for a deep clean. Got there super early, a staff member pulled in, shook my hand and talked to me while I was sitting in my car. Staff was super friendly when I went inside, and the dentist was so helpful with explaining what he would be doing and in calming me down. (34 and still scared of the dentist lol) I definitely will be going back!!

Fantastic experience: Dr Gilbert, Dr Heda ,Laquita and the whole staff are wonderful! They are very professional and amazing with what they do. This is the best office and I recommend everyone to come here!

Negative experience: First and LAST visit here was in February. I went in for some pain I had in my wisdom tooth. I got there, the girl at the front you can tell was not having it, told me I had some forms to sign and when I asked what type of forms she replied "I'm going to go over it just give me a minute." I get it, life is hard, but still. Anyway. The Dr saw me for approximately 10 minutes. He referred me to an OS and also prescribed me medicine because the pain was so bad. When I was leaving, the girl at the front stated I did not have to pay anything.-- Several weeks later, I get a bill from them that I owe $$$ and shortly after, I was sent a plethora of mail that I was sent to a collections agency!!! For what!!!?? So I called and NO ONE could tell me why. The first time I called, the answering service picked up (even though it was within business hours) and did not help, they were going to "notate it". 2nd time I called, an office personnel picked up and when I explained to her the situation, to which she said "well you did sign a paper stating you would pay whatever you owe at the end of your service" and when I asked to be emailed that form that I signed off, which I did not read myself, I was just told to sign, the girl who claimed she was only a DA said I'd have to wait for the manager in order to get those signed papers and for security reasons and she did not have "authorization"....even though she already gave me info. 3rd time I call, it's the answering service, I NEVER got ahold of someone at the office to explain to me why I was getting billed for $$$. The answering service states they are closed and they would "relay the message". I have called a total of about 6 times. At last, I ended up calling my insurance and they told me about the charge. Not a single phone call to the patient about why they are receiving bills and as a current employee of a dentist office we ALWAYS get EOB's and call the patients to let them know and explain to them what's happening with their insurance, claims, etc. I will not be returning to this office.

Fantastic experience: West Spring Dental Care is absolutely the BEST!! Crystal, Dania, Joy, and Liquita were ALL super duper sweet. Our dentist was so knowledgeable and friendly. The office is beautiful and clean. Our entire family, including our two boys, got our exams, x-rays, and cleanings done. We were all super happy and satisfied with the awesome dental care we received. We would highly recommend West Spring Dental Care to everyone looking for an amazing family dental experience! You will be VERY impressed! WE LOVED IT!!

Fantastic experience: Going to the dentist is such a vulnerable time for me. At this office I felt comfortable starting at the front desk with Laquita Sanders causing me to smile right away. I appreciate Dr. Gilbert for his kindness while tending to my dental needs. The caring staff allowed me not to feel the amount of anxiety that I usually experience. Thank you for a great visit.

Negative experience: Went there for a few years. It was okay. Communication wasn't great. Also, be sure to ask for your records each and every visit. They don't even have a record of my visit from just three years ago. Get your xrays as you go. They'll lose them.
