Fantastic experience: Thank you to Dr. Henderson and everyone on his staff for being so kind and professional. I was in a lot of pain, (and scared to be honest…) they were great throughout diagnosis and treatment.

Positive experience: I would rate it a 5 except the waiting time was long between every stage of the appointment. I will, however, return because the staff was so helpful and caring.

Negative experience: Cancelled my appointment, because my hygienist wasn't there. Then reschedules me on a day i don't have off because it's the day she works. Get day off and loses hours because I need to see them for perio. Only for them to schedule me with another hygienist who hasn't been doing work with me like mine has. They then tell me that they schedule who is available even though they specifically rescheduled a day I didn't have off because it was the only day she could. Where in the world does this make sense. This place has severely gone down hill in quality with issues with getting the wrong detal insurance policy all last year and having to go back and forth. They don't care if they waste your time and don't value it. I reccomend going else where if you are looking for a new dentist place.

Negative experience: I had my wisdom teeth removed at this location, Dr.Charles chillcoat was my surgeon, good dental experience. Did I really need them removed? Sigh. It’s okay. I also had some fillings and a root canal, this was with Dr.Henderson and his staff. During my visits, Dr.Henderson and the staff are extremely busy, they take turns working on you, some are more rough than others. Dr.Henderson was never rough and he was kind, which is how he sold me on multiple treatments. I accept the fault. But y’all! Get a second opinion, don’t get sold y’all! To this day the root canal is not quite right, my biggest regret is getting this root canal. When I eat sweets it hurts just as much as when I had my regular tooth. The pain never stopped. If I could turn back the sun I would never get a root canal, especially not here.

Negative experience: I agree with some of the other reviews, the staff was friendly enough, but they will absolutely push treatments on you that are not necessary. My first visit which should have been a basic Cleaning turned into a $700 visit and then they wanted me to follow up in another three months stating that my next cleaning should be cheaper around $300. I have no problems with my teeth. I take good care of them.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Henderson has been my dentist for 15+ years and i would highly recommend him to anyone that is looking for a quality dentist. He is very good at what he does. He's personable, friendly and makes sure you dont experience any discomfort throughout the visit. He takes the time to explain what needs to be done, explain the available options on how to proceed and listens so that he understands any concerns you may have. I have never had a bad experience in all the years I have been going there.

Negative experience: Horrible experience. People is pedant and rude for no reason. I requested a copy of my visit notes and they couldn’t even provide it. I’ll be filling a claim in base of violation to my HIPAA rights.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Henderson is responsive to the needs of his patients. He listens and determines the best procedure for the patient's care. The hygienists and support personnel give professional care as well. Jose is the best dental hygienist I've ever had, a completely painless session for the first time in my life!

I see negative posts describing issues with insurance and cost, wait times, etc. which is totally out of their control. The team is doing the best they can with what you present to them- your oral health. I recommend my family and friends to this wonderful atmosphere where you will be properly taken care of. Negative experience: I didn’t have a good experience with Monarch Dental. My appointment was at 3:00, but I ended up waiting quite a while before being called back. When I was finally seen, the hygienist explained that I would need to pay $400 upfront, which I wasn’t prepared to do. She then suggested setting up a payment plan through a third-party company, which would have taken another 20 minutes before even starting the treatment. I also noticed an inconsistency in pricing. During my last visit, I was charged $86 for a type of cleaning, but today I was quoted $45 for what seemed like the same service. That difference raised concerns for me. I really wish someone had informed me ahead of time about the upfront cost, as it would have saved me a trip. Overall, it felt like my time wasn’t respected, and the lack of empathy made the experience even more frustrating. Based on this experience, I wouldn’t recommend this place.

Fantastic experience: I have been going to Monarch Dental for at least 6 plus years. I couldn’t think of going anywhere else. Dentist Henderson and his staff are awesome and go above and beyond to make you happy.

Negative experience: Complete waste of time. I called ahead twice to confirm they accept my insurance and that my cleaning will be done the day of my appt. I was told yes twice. Got there on time and front desk person was rude. Got X-rays taken and was told I will not be charged and pending to see if they charged my insurance. Hygienist came in the room to explain the process and next steps. Dentist then came into the room made me watch a dental cleaning video and never came back in the room. Everyone literally left by 440 all lights were off (I was scared at this point to be left alone with some guy)and they had the hygienist literally escort me out even though they close at 530 and it was 440. His exact words were “everyone left and there’s no one here anymore I don’t work front desk. They will call you Monday and confirm your insurance is accepted “ like what??? I’m still in shock. Please avoid this place. Everyone super unprofessional.

Because I was really down and out about the first diagnosis I got. I have a fear of dentist but all the staff was patient with me. Thank you all

Negative experience: This was the most disappointing and pointless appt and waste of taking the afternoon off of work. I scheduled an initial New Package for their advertised Exam, Exrays & Cleaning for $59. I was told they could do the cleaning the same day when I booked the appointment. The day of I sat in their waiting room for an hour before getting taken back for x-rays and by the time the exam was completed by the hygienist and dentist it was past 4pm but they said they could do the cleaning however it was going to cost me $1011 for the cleaning. The front desk manager then reduced the cost to $969 which was because I questioned being charged for instructions. A cleaning does not warrant instructions for someone who was just told that everything looked great. because even for a deep cleaning that is an obscene amount. When I noticed this all she said was "oops, that wasn't supposed to be there" yet the way the quote is created they have to manually enter the dental codes so it seemed like a deliberate "mistake" blatantly racking up the cost. I decided to wait on the cleaning because when the dentist looked at my teeth he said quote "They look great, no issues or cavities" But the hygienist said I needed a "deep cleaning" which I was fine with right up until the price came back at over a thousand dollars since it will be cheaper for me to outright by dental insurance which covers everything for 25% of the cost out of pocket. I did give them 2 stars because the radiologist tech and the dentist were good and pleasant but the whole experience outside of that just felt deceptive with advertising a free cleaning and then being told "No, because the hygienist recommends a deep clean." What? Isn't it up to the patient to decide how they want to proceed based on their circumstances?

Fantastic experience: Dr.Henderson and the entire staff is always so nice. Customer service great, no long wait time for appointments, quick response to any inquires!

Negative experience: It’s true! Most people there are so very friendly!!! Until you don’t agree with something or you have an opinion!! I’ve been using Monarch Dental services for over 24 years! However, I am a PPO patient and for my last CLEANING visit I was charged over $900!!! What?!?! I did agree to a special laser treatment that costed $300 out of pocket but $600 more?!?!? No explanation other than charges that to me were made up. Very disappointed and leaving Monarch Dental for good. ‍♀️

Fantastic experience: EVERYONE I came across is very friendly and high spirited. The technology surpassed what I was used to and the dentists were extremely informative (even to the extent of pulling up a video). The receptionists were friendly and patient and went well above the minimum to ensure my insurance companies worked in my best interest. I’ll be back.

Negative experience: We arrived ahead time for a annual cleaning. The staff took 1.5Hrs just for the X-rays and mentioned to reschedule for cleaning. I explained, I went out of the way to book this appointment Traveling from a far place rather than going to a nearby dentist. They did not consider. What I don’t understand is how can you give an appointment when you cannot commit to doing it and making us wait so long.

Fantastic experience: I have anxiety when it come to the dentist because I have had some bad experience at the dentist in the pass at another place. But I can say Dr.Henderson and his staff made me feel relaxed and calm. They were very careful to me and I am so appreciative of that. So if you want kind and made to feel comfortable go to Monarch in Lewisville/The Colony!! Mertice

Fantastic experience: I'm so pleased I switched to this Monarch location. Everyone there is pleasant, friendly and professional. Dr. Henderson is wonderful; he's very knowledgeable and thoroughly explains his treatment plan in a straightforward way. He's also very concerned with his patient's comfort- physical and emotional. I don't always see the same hygienist for cleanings (every 4 months) but I've had only positive experiences.

Fantastic experience: I thought I had a cavity but my gums were inflamed in the back on one side. Anna was awesome giving me a beautiful cleaning, helping with my gums, & suggesting a few things to do at home that will help with healing & hopefully I won’t be in that situation again!! Also the entire staff was very inviting & helpful!

Negative experience: Went in for my first consult, X-rays, and a basic cleaning. After the X-rays, they gave me a $2,678 treatment plan and said I’d owe $703 even with 80% insurance coverage. I refused and left. Feels like a scam — beware of overcharging and inflated estimates!

Fantastic experience: I don’t usually leave reviews, but Dr. Henderson went above and beyond. I came in needing serious work. 7 cavities, a full deep cleaning, and even a pit in one tooth that needed attention. He not only took care of everything in one visit, but stayed after hours to make sure it was all done right, even after all of his staff had gone home. That kind of dedication is rare. You can tell he genuinely cares about his patients. Highly recommend if you want a dentist who’s both skilled and invested in doing the job right.

Fantastic experience: Upon entry was greeted very warmly and could feel that the greeting was genuine and sincere. My attendant was very warm , friendly, thorough and detailed oriented.She answered all my questions and concerns very professionally and stright forward .The best cleaning I think I had ever had .Booked with her again for the next cleaning. The exray technician was just as thorough and gentle,quick and friendly.The dentist himself, was just as concerning about my comfort as he proceeded to fill a cavity .I let him know how very pleased I was with his staff that took part in waiting on me during my visit .I highly recommend Monarch Dentistry and Dr.Henderson .

Fantastic experience: I’ve been going to the Monarch dental In the colony for years. I love Dr. Henderson. I met the new dental hygienist who does The Gemini laser cleaning, and decided to go ahead and give it a try. She was very knowledgeable very kind and excited about what she does. I have experienced a lot of pain, relief using laser therapy for bursitis in my hips from Bio Restore laser and so I know that this new laser system is going to help my teeth also thank you so much Monarch for offering this new cleaning option

Fantastic experience: My family has gone to this Monarch location for almost 13 years! Dr Henderson actually treated me when I was pregnant with my now 12 year old. We live in Plano and make the drive because Dr. Henderson, Jo, Jun and all the staff are amazing, and they have VERY little turn over. Jo and Dr Henderson have been there as long as we have . Fun fact: Dr. Henderson is also a practicing pharmacist and when I tried to take my kids to pediatric Dentists they wanted to put my kids under general anesthesia for work and as a nurse, I’ve seen to much and was not a fan. Dr. Henderson agreed that some Benadryl and nitrous would do the tick and it did! Saved me THOUSANDS and saved my kids from going under anesthesia. Although we started here because of insurance, we now have many options and choose to stay with this practice for the reasons listed above and many more. Yes, sometimes wait times can be long, but they have emergencies and such come in that need to be handled and I get that. I find it helps a lot if I book our appointments as the first or second appointment of the day. From the office, to the dentist to the hygienists, they are amazing. I have severe anxiety of the dentist but he’s really the only my kids have had treatment with (and they’ve had a lot of work) and they have zero dentist anxiety at all and I attribute that to the care they have received here literally their entire lives. I’ve also had Dr Chilcoat, the oral surgeon that goes there once a week do an extraction for me and take out my 23 year olds wisdom teeth and he is equally phenomenal so it’s nice to have that option conveniently in that office. I cannot recommend this place enough, I can’t believe I’ve never written a review. You will not be sorry you chose this particular Monarch location to get your dental needs taken care of!

Negative experience: I was disappointed with the cleanliness of the treatment room. The dental chair had visible stains, and the space didn’t feel properly sanitized. Cleanliness should be a basic standard in any healthcare setting, and this made me uncomfortable during my visit.

Negative experience: Dr Kenneth is good. Getting to Dr Kenneth through the front desk or booking system is near impossible. Online system is complete garbage. Try to book routine appt as an exiting patient? Nothing available … EVER! New patient? Sure! Whenever you want. Called front desk to cancel appt some months back. Was on hold for 30 minutes. No apologies, I guess I should be happy they finally answered. Called recently to rebook said appt. Immediately put on hold. Hung up after 10 minutes. Finally got appt for routine check-up. It will be my last at Monarch. Just want to be there to tell Dr Kenneth in person b/c I have no confidence he will find out from his office staff and he needs to know.

Negative experience: The staff is very polite, however the service is very slow and the update on your dental work is not very informational other than everything looks good. The dental assistant is more informative on what needs to be improved or done on your dental work than the dentist is. This is my third visit at this dentist office and each visit takes longer and longer. My third visit was 3 and half hours long. Like why??? I wish I could go somewhere else, but my dental insurance only allows me to go Monarch Dental.

Negative experience: Terrible hygienist cleaning teeth with the grinder quickly to remove plaque by skipping few teeth. No single dental tool was used to clean plaque between teeth. Allow water running into my neck without giving patient tissue to clean or a cup and water to rinse the teeth after the cleaning. I switched to another dentist the same day for future teeth cleaning!

Negative experience: The amount of time spent on finding an office that has a dentist and ortho that are both covered under your insurance is maddening. Then the obvious vagueness of pricing and insurance covering each procedure is infuriating. We had our son scheduled for four extractions and still trying to get an estimate the morning of the surgery and the office got frustrated and cancelled the appointment hours before it was scheduled because they "didn't have time to deal with this" while on the phone with our insurance company. We had our daughter scheduled at another office for a consultation for braces, and they cancelled because the scheduled it on a day when the ortho wasn't even there. This is all so unacceptable.

The Dentist Dr. Kenneth Henderson is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING in so many ways…..He explains things carefully his bedside manner is impressive and he is extremely Gentle. Dr. Henderson really put my mind at ease when treating my son. From the moment I walked into the office I was greeted with smiles, positive energy and overall sweet kind compassionate Souls Shyla and Jo oh how I Love them! They gave my son and I such a warm and fuzzy feeling inside they were extremely knowledgeable from Top to bottom about the entire process. Fariba and Maria were very kind as well they carefully went over the process and allowed us to ask as many questions as our hearts desired. I am 100% completely and wholeheartedly satisfied and ever so grateful for stumbling upon this Amazingly Beautiful inside and out family/Office I look forward to continuing our care here with you guys! Negative experience: Couldn’t even get in touch with the office…I called about 8 times over the span of 3 days to ask a simple insurance question and it kept going to voicemail. Don’t waste your time.

Fantastic experience: We live in McKinney, but we chose to go to this location. Jun is amazing with patients. He knows what you need and will not push unnecessary services that will cost money. The people in this location are friendly, and the service is phenomenal. They don't overcharge, unlike other Dental clinics that are rip-offs. I highly recommend this Monarch location.

Fantastic experience: Best dentist and hygienist ever! My teeth feel brand new! The tech was very gentle while taking X-rays which is very important. In at 12pm out by 1:45 for 3 services(x-rays, examination, and cleaning)!! I would highly recommend this dental office as they are clean and very efficient.

Positive experience: I will preface this review by stating that the staff and dentist are extremely kind, helpful and professional. However, the wait time was ridiculous. I believe the dentist was just swamped with procedures to perform but my appointment lasted over 3 hours, meanwhile on 10 minutes of that time was me being seen by any of the staff. Again, the staff was very kind, professional, and good at their job, just expect the appointment to take about 2 more hours than you originally anticipated.

Negative experience: Had an appointment for a cleaning last week. Showed up 30 minutes before my appointment as I was asked of. Did not go inside to see any health professional until about 2 hours later. They said they had no time for the cleaning today and to reschedule. When rescheduling I was told the wrong price, when I tried to correct the person in charge, she gave me attitude for no reason. They couldn't figure out the price so they said they would call me the next day. It's been an entire week. 1 front desk lady and dentist were nice, but take your business elsewhere.

Negative experience: I have never had such a poor experience with a dental office before. My first time there, I was in the waiting room for over an hour. Finally when I get called back, I was waiting in the chair for another 30 minutes. The hygienist came to clean my teeth and was done within 5 minutes. I didn't even see the dentist! I should not have tried to reschedule but thank goodness they don't answer the phone because I will be going elsewhere. I have called 3-4 times on various days and times and have had no answer. I leave messages and get no call back. I also submitted two online requests for appointments and never heard back. Overall, I would not recommend this office!!

Fantastic experience: I came in to get two things and unfortunately I've had to wait a day but they were kind enough to help me set up an appointment with a surgeon to get my procedure taken care of. I appreciate their time, and help to get my dental work done.

Negative experience: The dental staffs are great, office staffs are not. They dont pick up the phone, or return calls to the left message, and workers can’t type things correct, leading to insurance and record issues. They tried to charge my insurance for over $1000 for an undisclosed reason. I couldn’t get my record transferred.

Fantastic experience: Honestly this the best location to be at, the people at the front desk are so authentic and chill. The price they quoted me with was A LOT MORE affordable compared to the last dentist I went to. When I went to great expressions they tried to quote me $2,400 for wisdom teeth removal WITH insurance but I was quoted only around $700 with their referral. Me personally, I’m not going anywhere this dental office is a MUST.

Negative experience: Consumer, beware, Me and my family went to Monarch Dental today we had not been there since 2012 and now I know why we never went back. Customer service is lacking terribly. We all went in for routine x-rays and cleaning that was to be covered 100% by our insurance that we only needed to pay a $15 co-pay with our insurance, My son got there first and when I realize they had charged $58 for services he should’ve only needed to pay $15 for they apparently told him he needed an oral cancer screening which he does not smoke and has perfect teeth and gums. They charged him an additional $31 for this and an additional $12 for Fluoride. They never told him there would be additional fees for either of these. when I got there I started questioning why he was having to pay more. They just said because insurance didn’t cover it. I said we were only there for routine, x-rays and cleaning nothing else should’ve been done. They said sorry it has already been done. There was nothing they could do about it. When they finally took me back to get x-rays, I realized the colored plastic piece on the x-ray had bite marks all over it before it ever went into my mouth. I was so grossed out because that piece went straight in my mouth nothing was covering that piece. and then I Started I noticing how dirty the baseboards and floors were and I became extremely grossed out by all of it. They then told my husband that they would not do a routine cleaning on his teeth because he needed a deep clean that would cost him $800 out of our pocket. He has never needed a deep clean before. And that they refused to just do a regular cleaning on his teeth. They told him he would need to pay $800 to have them cleaned. I argued and said, can they please just do a regular cleaning on his teeth, and they refused Rozi the dental hygienist, then looked at my x-rays and she said I had plaque on my gums and I would need a deep cleaning to without ever even looking at my teeth. I cannot believe how extremely rude Rozi was and I told her no thank you I could not believe they refused to just do a routine cleaning on our teeth. They wanted 800.00 from each of us. We will not be going back to them ever again.

Negative experience: Arrived for my dental cleaning, only to be told that my insurance would not cover a deep cleaning. The hygienist wanted to do a deep cleaning on my bottom teeth and charge me $380. I asked if the regular cleaning could be done. The one my insurance would cover. I was told no and I left without getting a teeth cleaning. I was told they would only perform what the hygienist recommended. So, now I have to find another dentist that will give me a regular cleaning. I can't afford the $380 and I have no desire to go it debt for it. This seems like a scam and technically they are saying I will never be able to get a teeth cleaning, unless I agree to them charging me $380. How is this possible? I thought the whole point behind teeth cleaning was to be preventative maintenance? I am not a happy camper!
