They take time to explain and show teeth X-rays of anything that may need to be fixed (cavities, crowns, etc.), so you know they're not trying to make extra money off of you. They can also give advice on how to care for your teeth better. I highly recommend DD Family Dentistry.

Fantastic experience: I can’t say enough good things about this office. My extraction was very difficult due to extremely long roots, and Dr. Durga was patient, skilled, and incredibly careful the entire time. Even though it took a while, I always felt safe and well cared for, and she never rushed the process. I truly appreciate the level of care and professionalism she showed. I also want to give a special thank you to Hope at the front desk — she was incredibly kind and helpful while I was trying to schedule and made a stressful situation feel much more manageable. The rest of the front office staff were wonderful as well. I’m very grateful to this entire team and would absolutely recommend them.

Negative experience: Terrible experience, had to have a root canal re-done because the one this dentist performed was not filled all the way and caused an infection. Fortunately, a specialist fixed their abysmal work but I was still called every day by this dentist to fork over the money that my insurance had given me a check for (they stopped accepting Delta Dental but told me I could sign over the check Delta gave me to them). Don't bother wasting a visit to this dentistry.

Fantastic experience: My appointment today was a pleasant one. I had x-rays and an exam and a hygienist clean my teach. I will always recommend them.

Negative experience: Nice dentist, kind person, poor skill. I got a double root canal with which they used topical anesthetic - which worked fine for the first tooth, albeit a little uncomfortable, but the second tooth was the most incredible nerve pain I've ever felt in my life. My palms and hands were shaking before I had to tell them to stop, that I would get the second one finished somewhere else. I then went to a specialist who I had a previous root canal procedure done. The specialist was shocked when I told him DD Dentistry used a topical anesthetic. He then reviewed my X-Ray and told me that the one root canal DD Family Dentistry had been able to "finish" may cause issues in the future, as DD Dentistry had not cleaned all the way to the bottom of the root. Well here I am a year later and I'm told by a different, much more skilled, general dentistry that I need ANOTHER root canal on the tooth that DD Dentistry performed one on because they did not clean the root completely. So on top of experiencing the most incredible direct facial nerve pain in my life in DD Dentistry's office, I have handed over all of my dental insurance payments to them and have to wait until next year for a specialist to re-do the root canal that DD Dentistry failed. Avoid getting a root canal from this dentistry at all costs. Go to a specialist.

Fantastic experience: I’m having a couple teeth replaced and the process at DD Dentistry has been great! The staff is very friendly and Dr. Durga and Dr. Morrison (and his lovely assistant) are fantastic! I’m grateful to have the team looking out for my teeth and overall health!

Positive experience: I came to this office because I no longer trusted the previous dentist AND her clerical staff. My initial phone contact with this office was not encouraging, but upon my first visit, I felt the care and attention plus knowledge of my new dentist to be high above that of my former dentist. The Doctor is so nice, she explains everything so well and is generally concerned about your comfort and pain levels. The office staff is wonderful! The office is clean. The dentist is normally one of my most dreaded doctors to go to but this doctor made me at ease and now I’m not scared to go back. Please consider this wonderful office. They look out for you financially and what your insurance will cover as well. Wonderful experience!

Fantastic experience: They sent me a text same day when they had an opening and made the process as a new patient so easy. Taken back quickly and the assistant as well as the doctor explained everything clearly. Hygienist was great too. You could tell the office sees their patients as people and not numbers. From front desk to back office, was a wonderful experience.

Negative experience: This was my first time visiting DD family dentistry as I just moved to the area. I chose to come here for a routine cleaning given the great reviews but left in almost tears once the cleaning was all said and done. Once I was brought back to the room they started doing the x-rays on me, except I think the dental hygienist must be new? I can only assume as it took her 3-4 different tries to get the xrays done.. which can become pretty painful after some time. The actual dentist had to come in and take over to show her how to do it. No shame to the dental hygienist if she was new, but given that I’m a new patient maybe someone should have been in there from the beginning to help her? It just felt like a rocky start to a new patient visit. Then the dentist comes in and she was very nice, I will say that. But the way that the cleaning was performed was by far the most painful experience. My gums are still incredibly sore which has NEVER happened and I go routinely every 6 months to the dentist and have my entire life. Then as im checking out at the end, the lady was pretty rude after I told her I didn’t want to schedule my next appointment with them. I think I’ll be going back to the drawing board to figure out a new dentist for my next appointment.

Fantastic experience: This was an excellent experience! My wife & I decided to change our dental care. We had previously been driving over 30 miles one way to get our needs met. Dr. Devarakondra is less than a half mile away. Beyond that her practice is professional, polite and efficient. Our appointments were on time and every step was quick. From the x-rays, the examination by the Dr., to the cleaning showed a practice that has chosen to be friendly and to efficiently strive to be gentle. We’re actually looking forward to our follow up visits. Highly recommended! 6-19-24 update: Same day service! The staff and the Doc are very detailed oriented. Professional, courteous, and friendly. We’re very happy with the practice. 4-10-25 update. After an unrelated health issue prevented a regular visit, Dr D & staff took me in without a hitch. Friendly approach here is normal. In comparison to other customer service at any retail, this one is the top. My hygenicist was also excellent. Looking forward to next check up.10/08/2025 update: The reason my wife and I really depend on this practice. The entire staff works to save you time and the Doctor is exceptional. Everyone is familiar with your needs and work to achieve success. Highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: I recently visited Dr. Durga’s office in Carrollton for a deep cleaning, and it was the best dental experience I've ever had! Her office is incredibly modern, complete with two TVs (even one on the ceiling, so you can watch from any angle!) and the wait time was practically zero. Dr. Durga has a phenomenal bedside manner—she really takes the time to educate her patients on dental health and makes you feel genuinely cared for. The deep cleaning was pain-free, and she was meticulous about ensuring I was comfortable and fully numb. The hygienist, Tracy, was also fantastic—friendly, thorough, and attentive throughout the process, which made the whole experience even better. As a new patient, I appreciated that Dr. Durga set aside extra time to address my specific needs and educate me about my teeth and gum health. I’d been putting off the dentist due to a bad experience, but Dr. Durga and Tracy restored my trust. They serve Carrollton, Lewisville, and Farmers Branch, so if you’re looking for a compassionate and thorough dentist in these areas, I highly recommend them! They were neutrally informative and gave me a deep cleaning which was originally scheduled to be done in two appointments but they were able to do it all in one which i was grateful for. As someone that was nervous enough to not see a dentist for several years I will absolutely be keeping up with regular cleanings because of how kind everyone was at this location.

However, luck was on my side as I received a call the next morning about a canceled appointment for later that day, which I eagerly took. Negative experience: I've been contemplating making this review, because I have already reported them to the state so they can start an investigation into them about this incident, but I feel the need to. To sum it up short: Make sure that you are aware of what insurance they are billing if you have a primary and secondary insurance on file with them. Make sure to check with your insurance that they are not double billing you and are billing the correct insurance, because with me, they billed the wrong one, my secondary insurance which was out of network, and instead of correcting the error, and sending the money back to my secondary insurance and billing my primary (which was in network). They billed my primary insurance. I ended up having both of my dental insurances maxed out for SIX MONTHS. When I still needed to get a wisdom tooth removal. I had to continuously call them and remind them of the situation that they needed to fix. There would be months that I would not hear from them, and assume that the issue was fixed, and then call my insurance company and they would tell me they still have not received the money back. It does not take six months to send a check back to an insurance company that you "accidentally" billed. This situation had such a simple fix, and at first I wanted to believe that it was just a simple clerical error. But because of their continuous lack of communication, and lack understanding of the urgency to fix THEIR mistake it has led me to believe that this was on purpose, and they either assumed I would not check my insurance benefits or that I would not care. Update 2024: All cavities that I got filled by doctor Hall, were refilled, by a different dentist a year later because I was told they were not filled correctly. I have never had to have a cavity refilled before so this was a shock to me.

Fantastic experience: I had waited way too long to come in for a check up and cleaning, and I was feeling apprehensive about my visit. But the staff made me feel at ease. They were very polite and professional. I have a small bite and my dental x-rays and cleanings have mostly been uncomfortable to undergo. But the young lady who cleaned my teeth listened to me when I needed to close and rest my jaws. She was very good and the cleaning, this time, was not at all uncomfortable. The visit which I usually would dread turned out to be a very positive experience.

Fantastic experience: My wife and I have been patients of Dr. Durga Devarakonda, DMD, for several years. During our numerous routine appointments, Dr. Durga has been professional, knowledgeable, and demonstrated a high level of caring with our dental treatments. Earlier this year, I experienced, what I felt was severe pain in my lower left molar. Dr. Durga was able to squeeze me in and after a few x-rays and prodding around the molar - quickly diagnosed my problem. I had multiple infections in my molar. Dr Durga stated I needed to have this matter dealt with today to avoid further complications. She immediately got on the phone and was able to get an endodontist to see me that afternoon. Dr. Durga wasn't just quick to find the right endodontist for me, she listened to what I was experiencing and asked me specific questions to help get me the right treatment. It has been 3-4 months since the infects - which have cleared up. Dr. Durga is clearly the best dentist I've ever had. In summary, Dr. Durga and her staff of professionals, are very knowledgeable/skilled, strong listeners, and caring to the needs of their patients. Larry Tong
