Negative experience: Disappointed that I was not told in advance that my regular dentist, Dr. Kumar, would not be seeing me on this visit. This is really inexcusable. nothing wrong with your substitute dentist. But I should’ve been told in advance.

Fantastic experience: Had my 6-month dental cleaning and x-rays Thursday. Met a ew dental technician (new to me) who also was a fellow US Army veteran. She was gentle and thorough and we had great time sharing some of our military experience.. Even had a flouride rinse. Discussed treatment plans with Dr. Kumar. An enjoyable experience, again. Dr. Kumar gave me a temporary crown and I didn't feel any pain - not even when she was administering Novacaine. I didn't even feel the needle! She and her assistant were very professional and caring. Both explained the process and constantly checked to ensure I was doing ok during the process. The temporary crown looks good. I'll let you know in 2 weeks how the permanent one looks.

Fantastic experience: The sign outside said Mountain Brook Dental. That was confusing, but I loved the receptionist, my hygienist, my dentist, Dr. Tammy Kumar. My hygienist was friendly without being too chatty. I'm there to get my teeth cleaned, not make a new BFF. My dentist remembered personal details I had mentioned 6 months ago. She asked about my husband and sister who were having health issues 6 months ago. I was amazed! In and out in about 30 min including xrays. A great dental experience!

Negative experience: This was my first visit to the Montclair office. I have been a patient of Dr Kumar for a while and followed her to this office. Dr Kumar is a terrific dentist and a warm friendly person. However, my experience with the front office of this practice was off putting. Staff completely ignored me when I came in and never bothered to notify the hygienist that I was there. If Erica hadn’t been so on top of things i guess i would still be sitting in the waiting room! I overheard 2 phone calls where the receptionist was just rude. I would have left if I didn’t like Dr Kumar so much. The hygienist was lovely and did a great job cleaning my teeth. When I checked out the it was a bit of a surly experience . Hope they fix the front office issues.

Fantastic experience: On December 21, 2023, as I walked into the business I was overwhelmed by the joy of Christmas the dentist and the staff were all dressed in their Christmas sweaters and hats fronting their usual welcoming smiles. I had an awesome opportunity to take a Christmas photo of the staff in front of the tree which I did and all the ladies looked beautiful and as cute as could be I was sure that if that photo were to become Christmas cards they would sell by the hundred. Anyway let's get to my procedure the hygienist was new to me she was very professional meaning she was informal and precise with me she told me everything she was about to do and while the exam went on kept making sure that I was doing okay. She was as generous helpful and confident as was and are all the hygienists that I had the privilege of being waited on at this intriguing dentist's office. I gave them a Christmas card and the only expression that I could think of was my gratitude for writing inside the. (Thank you all for your professionalism in keeping away all the tooth fairies) May you all have a wonderful and warm Merry . Oh yeah, and I forgot to mention the professionalism and kindness of Dr. Kumar, she did some procedures on my lower left and upper left teeth it was gentle and as usual she made certain that I was doing fine. She is such a sweet and soft-spoken soul. And must also add as cute as can be.

I absolutely hate shots in the upper portion of my mouth because in years past and with other Docs, those upper shots were extremely painful. Not so with Dr Grimes. Two times now and no pain. Fantastic experience: I’ve had some really bad experiences with dentists, which led to me not going for a while and having some bad repercussions because of it. I finally found and trusted a new dentist in Atlanta a couple of years ago. I moved to Birmingham and was hell bent on just driving to Atlanta anytime I needed to go. But a friends family recommended Dr. Kumar to my boyfriend to use and when I went with him while he got fillings, she was just absolutely lovely. I decided to take the leap and go to her as well. I am SOOOOOO glad I did. She is wonderful, personable, funny and so caring. I literally tell everyone I know to go to her. I told all the residents in my boyfriends program about her and will tell all the new ones as well!
