Negative experience: I’m not usually one to leave reviews, but I can’t stop thinking about my experience at this office. I came in last Saturday for a cleaning. The doctor was very kind and did her best throughout the appointment no complaints there. The front office staff was also wonderful, especially the girl with the orange hair. She was incredibly helpful, professional, and went above and beyond to make sure everything went smoothly. Unfortunately, my experience with one of the dental assistants was concerning. While assisting with suction during my cleaning, he repeatedly poked and jabbed my gums with the suction tip, causing unnecessary discomfort and pain. It seemed as though he lacked the awareness and care that patients deserve during treatment. Dental appointments can already be stressful, especially for patients who experience dental anxiety. No one should leave a routine cleaning in more pain than when they arrived or feel nervous about returning because of a negative experience with a staff member. I genuinely feel for the other assistants who have to work alongside him. This office should take a closer look at who they are hiring and how assistants are being trained. Patients deserve to feel safe, comfortable, and cared for during their visits.

Fantastic experience: I had a great experience at Western Dental in Downey with Dr. Thanki. She was very professional, kind, and made me feel comfortable during my treatment. The staff were friendly, and the treatment went very smoothly. I would definitely recommend this clinic for dental care.

Negative experience: Worst staff. I was very disappointed with the professionalism and customer service at this dental office. After waiting over an hour, I politely asked how much longer it would take, and the staff responded with a rude attitude instead of showing understanding or concern for patients’ time. One employee stated, “We only have one X-ray room and one provider. I don’t know how long it will take. You just have to wait.” The response came across as dismissive and unprofessional. Delays can happen, but clear communication, respect, and basic courtesy toward patients should still be expected. The experience made it feel like patients’ time and concerns were not valued. ALSO, CALLED THE HEADQUARTER TO COMPLAIN BUT THEY ONLY TOOK MESSAGE, NO RESPOND. Looks like all these offices and staff are covered with upper management. Never again going to any of the Western Dental.

Fantastic experience: My visit was smooth going and I had a very positive experience. I did not wait very long from the time I got checked in to the time I got my x-rays done. The dentist was thorough and prepared to answer my questions.

Fantastic experience: We had a really good experience at Western Dental. My boyfriend went in for both an ortho and general consultation, and everything went smoothly from start to finish. Yadira, the dental assistant, was amazing. She was super friendly, patient, and explained everything clearly so we actually understood what was going on and what the next steps would be. She really made us feel comfortable and not rushed at all. The doctor was also really nice and took the time to answer our questions, which we appreciated. On top of that, the lady who helped us with pricing was very helpful and broke everything down in a way that was easy to understand. Overall, it was a great experience and we felt taken care of the whole time. Definitely recommend!

Negative experience: Front Desk Ladies, fail, I had a specialist Implant appointment 03/03/26, missed work in order to keep appt. and site under construction. according to a note on the door, front desk ladies working hard to notify and re-scheduling appts. No one of the front desk ladies bother to notify me. They're good at collecting $$ , have great Dental Assistants and Doctors and Implant specialists. Just front desk, please get your act together. Thank you.

Fantastic experience: This is the best western dental they are all really nice since I stepped in and left.I went for a cleaning and I got there late but the young lady in the front desk named Amanda said they can still help me out really nice. Dr.thanki was my doctor she was really nice and she explained everything and she did a really good job no pain and her assistant Yadira was really helpful.

Negative experience: Zero stars girls Infront will schedule you but doctors never show up and girls infront don’t care they you went it’s a waste of time and gas. Do not go here worst experience ever

Negative experience: Worst location. I DO NOT recommend. Extremely disappointed with the customer service and patient care. I arrived on time for my 11:15 a.m. appointment and waited approx 1.5 hours before being called in for X-rays. I met with the dentist at 12:45 p.m. for LESS than 5 min before being told I needed to leave because the doctor was going on her lunch break. I can either make another appointment on another day or wait until after. This is so frustrating given how much time I already waited, and that I took time off work and do not live close by. I was told that my "second appointment" would be at 2:00 p.m. and so I waited in the parking lot for 1 hour. They said the doctor was still on lunch and I waited until 2:20 p.m. for a general cleaning that took only 7 minutes... I spent 3 hours at the office for less than 10 minutes of actual care. The front desk staff also had no empathy nor concern for patience experience. Their response to my feedback was simply to "call corporate." Unacceptable. What a lack of accountability.

Negative experience: I have been coming here for 5 years. I have had my braces for a little over 5 years as well, I was quoted at 3 years, but have been delayed a bit - partly due to me having caught covid for some time & skipping some appts. I have a pretty busy work schedule, so I only have a limited amount of time to take off to go to these appointments - there have been times where I have arrived, but have had to leave due to the extremely long wait time. The office staff here is great and have been nothing but nice, but I think once I finish out my braces, I will be leaving Western Dental and checking out another provider. They take way too long. I also had a few appts with them in Oct but they have had to get pushed back due to someone crashing into their office and their office being in repairs until further notice :( From what I understand, they have now relocated all of their patients to an office in Bell Flower, which is out of the way for me and seems like they are super backed up :( I dont blame the workers for any of the issues, just seems like their corporate offices dont have them set up for success. UPDATE - DEC 2: I went in Sept and understood that I needed to get another contract. They had rescheduled me for October, the day of my scheduled appointment, the building had been crashed into so they postponed me 2 weeks out. The two weeks came around, I received no voicemail, no call, nothing to let me know that the appt had been moved to Bell Flower. So then I called the useless corporate office to reconfirm my appt and reschedule, the call was way longer than what I needed to be—too many filler words and unnecessary jargon. Appt was rescheduled for Dec 2– I come and I’m told that I missed my appointments and that I need to be more consistent given that now my new insurance doesn’t cover ortho. While I understand that, and I know I’m already mad at myself for missing a lot of appts this past year, but also was not willing to spend 2+ hours to be serviced, but I shouldn’t be held accountable for the dates missed as a result of crash when the team did not do a good job at following up and or letting me know of the change of locations until after I called. Do not recommend.

Negative experience: Worst place.I was getting treatment for bottom tooth and she drilled the top tooth which I didn’t give permission to do then they were suppose to see if I was feeling sensitive on bottom tooth then they were gonna do root canal . I told them it was sensitive Fely like I had tooth ache. They were supose to do root canal instead they just put crown on So know I have pain on top tooth and bottom tooth. Management was suppose to see me at an appointment I made and she wasn’t there . She been ignoring my calls, I do not recommend this place for anyone. They’re all students. There’s new people there every week do not go and I pay to have my tooth fixed and I’m still trying to get a hold of them. I will continue to make my comments until they fix the situation

Fantastic experience: I’m currently getting my braces done at Western Dental, and so far my experience has been really good. The staff is super friendly and always makes me feel comfortable when I come in. Dr. Radhika Thanki is great she really knows what she’s doing and explains everything clearly. I feel confident that I’m in good hands and already starting to see progress. Definitely recommend her and the team!

Negative experience: Call center gave appointments at 12:00pm, we arrived on time and had to wait more than 2 hrs. Dr was on lunch! why do they make appt at that time? Two of my daughters, same situation. Front desk ladies are rude. A couple more clients were complaining about the situation.

Fantastic experience: I always love going to my Western Dental. Everyone is kind and professional. I trust what they say and they are very transparent about what I need. I’ve been going here for years with no issues. I look forward to coming here every time.

Negative experience: Man what a bad experience here I made an appointment Monday the 4th of August 2025 and came in 1:50 for my 2 pm appointment and the only girl in the front said if I can wait an hour to check in the girls were at lunch , she stated she doesn’t suppose to be there but she came in because their low staff . I told her no my time is valuable just reschedule me for tomorrow which was today at 3pm . I got an email confirming appt at 2:15 pm she didn’t schedule me at the time I asked and she confirmed. So I called in to confirm my appointment they said 2:15 . I got there at 2:09pm I checked in and it was 3:05 and had to ask how much longer she said ur next for x rays . An hour waiting for x rays only for sure ain’t making it to the real chief complaint. I walked out it was super full people asking how long bad customer service SUPER LONG WAITS . If an appointment is made is to walk in at that time . It’s over booked and not good customer service to nobody

Negative experience: Staff is helpful, very clear and direct. I haven't had any major work done here but if I do, I will update my review. Recent visit update: I had to abandon my appointment because they had me waiting over an hour + . What a waste of time and inconvenience. They didn't care either. Date 07/29/2025 3pm-4pm

Negative experience: Really Bad Customer Service in Downey I been calling for appointment and they only have me on hold for a long time and they don’t answer just to hang up.

The girls in the front are not of help when you ask how much longer, change dentists don’t come here as they don’t value your time

Negative experience: This is absolutely the worst dental office I've ever been to I have been coming here since October 11th for dentures and still to this day do not have them they pulled all my upper teeth on October 11th and scheduled me to return 6 months later I was so upset and in pain that day I didn't realize my next appointment tment was scheduled 6 months out. I couldn't eat anything but soup and finally was able to call and reach someone in the office 1 month later and while explaining to them that I couldn't wait 6 months that I was told by the dentist I would be picking up my dentures 2 weeks after my teeth were pulled out and the girl that answered the phone was so rude to me I felt like I was gonna cry she actually hung up on me and it took me an additional 40 minute phone call on hold to get through to someone and actually make an appointment which by the way was set out 2 more weeks so now it's been 6 weeks since my teeth were pulled and the day before my appointment I get a call from the dental office telling me my dentist was ill and would not be able to see me tomorrow and I asked if there was another dentist available and was told I'm sorry you can only see your dentist and get this he was also going on a 2 week vacation the day after tomarrow so the soonest they could get me in was another 2 weeks and 4 days out. 8 1/2 weeks after my teeth were pulled i finally get to be seen by a dentist and they give me a set of dentures that are so big for mouth its impossible they were made from the bite impressions and measurements they took from me. And believe me I could go on and on but all I'm gonna say is today I'm again in there dental office hopping that today is the day and I fingers crossed get my dentures that actually fit my mouth but I'm not gonna hold my breath ive been coming here every 2 weeks for the last 4 months and they haven't gotten them right yet! HORRIBLE DENTAL OFFICE RUDE UNPROFESSIONAL HAVE NO CLUE HOW SO EMPATHIZE WITH A PATIENT IM THINKING CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT OR DENTAL MALPRACTICE LAWSUIT JUST MIGHT BEWHAT THE DOCTOR ORDERED! BY THE WAY I HAVEN'T BEEN ABLE TO RETURN TO WORK since October 11th 2024 because I work with customers face to face and was embarrassed

Negative experience: My appointment was at 12. Was there from 12 to 4 just for a cleaning! And even then, I felt like they didn’t clean my teeth correctly or the way it should’ve been properly done. 2 people that got there after me went in before me and left before me. Was waiting and waiting to be called and even when I was called and went in, I still waited and waited for a very long time. They apologized for the wait but I was getting so impatient. Who is at the dentist for 4 hours?? Me. Wack.

Negative experience: I waited over 2 hours after my appointment time they still wanted to wait when I got up to leave, then they re-scheduled me for a later appointment the same day. I lost my whole day just waiting on them. The previous appointment they called me last minute to change the time of my appointment as well.

Negative experience: This office has very poor customer service and is unsensitive to older people! My mom is 93 years old and has dementia!! We waited from 11:30am to 1:30 pm X-rays were completed/ dentist saw my mom. Dentist said my mom has a cavity and is in need of a dental cleaning. The supposed to be office manager wanted to reschedule my moms appointment because someone was at lunch! One my mom is in pain and you will re-schedule her because you have not enough people? ! Are you kidding me?? Then why take in more patients if your office is unable to care for them?? 2. Do people’s time is not important to you!?? I work as well for a living! How dare you to think my time is less important than yours!!!!! Horrible office first time experience! I am not taking my mother here again!

Negative experience: I wish I could leave 0 stars. My appointment was at 3:30 but I was seen at 4:40 and sat down for another 20 minutes. The doctor only spoke to me for 2 minutes no joke. My tooth was hurting really bad, but the best they could do was an appointment the following two weeks when I know it’s standard to receive an emergency referral when you can barely open your mouth. Any other dentist would do it same day or at least within a couple of days. Scheduling is HORRIBLE.

Negative experience: Bad worst clinic , my appointment 11,30 am& till 2 pm I didn’t see the doctor. I went home with sever headache

Positive experience: The Dentism Manager in the Downey facility didn’t like to attend a 2 year old child, First, she lacked manners, she didn’t say her name or goodmmorning or even HI when she entered the room, the first thing that came out of her mouth was “How old is she” She is two I replied, the. she told me “You should take her to our other facility where they specialize im children because here the specialist only comes once a month and if she needs something done it can only be done once a month” so i asked “ok but what is the difference between here and there” which she replied “Oh there specialized in children” I didn’t say anything else , the. she stand doing nothing while I was holding my child arms and legs so she can look at her theeth and didn’t do anything because she wanted the kid to sit and do not love her head at all opening her mouth, and she is a toddler so that is impossible, if she doesn’t like attending children then send me another dentist, don’t just stand there not helping.

Negative experience: Went there 2 months ago for a cleaning and the Dr was a Persian lady. Unfortunately, I forgot her name but she was so tough on my teeth that up to this day my teeth are extremely sensitive to liquids, cant even brish my teeth without feeling sensitivity and ive never suffer from this. I asked her to be a little more careful and she told me you better brush better so I can be less tough. Next appt if its with her I wont go in. I will have to go somewhere else. She is not good.

Positive experience: This is my dentist by far I can say I had great experience with everyone except the lady dentist was hurry she removed my temporary filling n left it empty cuz apparently they had to leave early. She has nasty attitude. I had to reschedule my appointment to the male dentist. He was the best!!

Fantastic experience: Very friendly and respectful and accommodate well to working with my brother who has schizophrenia and is more difficult to work with sometimes bit here they are patient and understand his situation and my brother feels safe to go here now after many other dentist this is the only place he will agree to go to because of the friendly staff and they always give me and my brother same day and time appointments so less wait etc very accommodating

Fantastic experience: I got my braces off and i am very happy with my results. Ulan helped in the ortho department and made sure that nothing hurt in the process of getting my braces off. Overall this place treats me good and makes sure that i am always comfortable.

Negative experience: Extremely horrible!!! My appointment was scheduled for 12 o’clock at At 12:45 a question what is going on the woman at the front desk told me that she would figure it out and get back to me on lunch. So after waiting for another 45 minutes in her, returning from a different door question again them to tell me that there was only one doctor yet there was about 10 people that walked in after me that were seen before. The story I left after two hours of waiting without even being seen and she was rude as ever about me Another appointment, I will never go there again

Negative experience: Very rude had an appointment at 11am for root canal they had me sign in waited for an hour for then just to tell me that the doctor will not be able to do it at the office and they had to send me to a different office I feel the whole setting up the appointment and making the appointment at 11:00 was useless I lost 4 hours of work I do not recommend this place

Negative experience: This western dental is always behind schedule with its ortho services. I always have to wait at least half an hour, usually about an hour to be seated only to be in the chair for 20 minutes . I had an appointment at 9am and wasn’t seen until 10:20 am. Horrible scheduling services.

Negative experience: I should’ve even leave not even a one start the personal that works at the front desk are very rude .. they need to have manners…

Positive experience: They have lacked some professionalism. Lack of eye contact, and being informative. I have to seek and educate myself, and position myself to get eye contact & thorough information/communication.

Fantastic experience: I really like Downey facility. All the people working in this facility are really nice and cooperative including Dr. and the office people. Keep up the good work.

Negative experience: I was there on 8/31 for a bad tooth. They told me it was infected and said they would call in a prescription. I waited all day in alot of pain. Well they never called it in. I am now in my way to the E.R. im 64 very suck. This is not right.

Negative experience: No flossing the polishing was less than 5 min. Could’ve saved the drive and did that at home.

Fantastic experience: Was at my last orthodontist appointment and was helped by Maria. She made me feel extremely comfortable and was very patient through out the whole process of getting my braces removed.

Negative experience: This visit was the worst. My appt. Was at 11. I arrived at 10:30 to speed up the prosses. I was called in at 1:20 They took my X/rays and the Dr. Examine me. Said all I need it was a cleaning. A girl came in said we have no time for your cleaning today have to be reschedule. Said only one Dr. The other Dr. had an emergancy. I told her I understand stuff happens. But at least should of told me before they even put me in the room and made me wait for more than two hours. I told her, I had took the day off work. Still said sorry have to reschedule. I came back to talk to the supervisor, she said to come back at 2:00. At this time my son said mom no let's just go home I'm hungry and tired. This was the worst service I've experienced in my 10 years of coming here. Thinking of not coming back, nor my family.

Fantastic experience: Thanks to Uñan getting my braces off was a quick and simple process. He made it very clear for me to understand how to maintain my new smile.

Positive experience: So far, I don't have any issues with dental works and the dentist themselves including the staff that assist them. What makes me upset is the customer service weather on phone or in person. There is no decent conversation with them, they are always upset, unfriendly, do not even let you finish what you want to say, then making schedule with them is difficult because of their rudeness. It even made my daughter uncomfortable in calling them much more in facing them.

Negative experience: I was told I needed an extraction when I got a second opinion turned out to be just a filling, Sad how they are ripping people off and doing unnecessary procedures on innocent people smh.

Negative experience: My wife went in because her tooth was hurting. While she was there, they convinced her to get x-rays on all her teeth because she was due for a full check up. The doctor performed the exam and filled 3 teeth, and told her she had to wait about 4 weeks for insurance to authorize a deep cleaning. She waits the 4 weeks and they call her to come in for a deep cleaning, and then another 4 weeks wait so that she can see the Endodontist, (root canal specialist). They give her a 9am appointment, so that she’s the first patient, but they didn’t bring her inside untill 11am. The “so called specialist” takes a look at her x-rays and decides at that time that he can’t do it, becausd its too complicated, and then they refer her to another dentist at a different company at Far West Dental, 40 miles away. The whole time they never addressed her cheif complaint, and now the new doctor at the other office, has to request authorization, and wait yet another 4 weeks. Oh, and after the nice doctor at Farwest Dental saw her x-rays, he could not understand why Western dental couldn’t have done it, if it was a straight forward regular root canal. The did not say it, but i am. The reason Western Dental couldn’t do it is, incompetency.

Fantastic experience: I got my braces done here and I had amazing results and amazing service all throughout my appointments Ulan was responsible for the removal of my braces and he was honestly very friendly I am pleased with their service and highly recommend this office

Negative experience: Worst service ever. Appointment times are never honored. I always have to wait an hour- 2 hours after my scheduled appointment time. They schedule you during the dentist’s lunchtime (why???) and expect you to wait. The front desk is so rude and not accommodating. I can go on and on. Time to switch dental offices.
