Glad you could call my mother to let her know but not the actual person going to the dentist!

Addie felt comfortable right away with the tech that came to get her, and liked the dentist. They explained what was done and what was needed in the future. Having a child that looks forward to going to the dentist is awesome.

Everyone is very knowledgeable very friendly from the front desk, to the dental hygienist to the Dentist himself, they all do an amazing job very informative always taking time to answer questions. My son did not like going to the Dentist and they have made the experience 1000 times better I cannot recommend them enough!!! If you’re looking for a kind carrying office, that will take their time with your child answering questions and going over a different things you need to come here.

Experiencia negativa: Had a cavity filling recently, they gave me the numbing shot and completely MISSED where I was getting my cavity filled. This means that the area wasn’t numb the entire time. After the worst pain I ever have been through as they drilled into my tooth, I raised my hand (since that is what they ask you to do when something is bugging you) and the dentist proceeded to say “Thanks for letting me know” and CONTINUED the procedure without applying more numbing!!! This was a traumatic and extremely painful experience. I will never forget the pain of those drills.

Experiencia fantástica: My children had their first visit here yesterday (my daughter’s first dentist visit ever), and they were so nice and friendly. My daughter was very upset, because she didn’t know what to expect with it being her first visit, and even with her screaming the whole staff was so nice and calm with her…it didn’t calm her down but it was nice that they just worked at her level and did what they could to comfort her and get through the appointment. My son usually has some anxiety at the dentist, but he even went back alone without being upset to get a tooth pulled that was crowding his grown up teeth coming in. And even after getting a tooth pulled that he wasn’t expecting to have happen, he told me he really likes this new dentist and he’s happy we came here. The tokens for the machines for prizes definitely helped also So thank you to everyone…from the front desk staff, to the hygienists, to the dentist…we are so glad we found our new dentist office!

Experiencia fantástica: Been taking my kids here for the past few years eventhough I live in Coralville and their sister clinic is closer. In my opinion it’s worth the drive to Cedar Rapids for the exceptional care they give my kids. Especially considering that my little one had to have some dental procedures done here and they handled them very well. Shes not traumatized or anything lol Thank you to the staff. The only thing I would say is that I usually get the answering machine when calling to make appointments . However I understand they’re always busy !

Experiencia positiva: The dental assistants were very friendly. The front desk girl was rude and not helpful. The dental assistant advised me to ask the girl at the front desk for the list of orthodontist so I could call and get our referral appointment made. When I asked the girl at the front desk, she laughed in my face and told me good luck and to call around and see which ones took my insurance. She was more worried about ordering and eating her lunch than to do her job.

Experiencia negativa: As a mom of a 19 month old who has never had their child taken to the dentist, I was highly unimpressed and disappointed with our experience. We were sat in the middle of a room that seemed like an assembly line. We were taken back before the dentist was ready and had to sit and wait. Everyone had to listen to my son cry while waiting. Waiting for a 19 month old is incredibly hard. Due to his age, we should have been left in the waiting room where he isn’t expected to sit on mom’s lap for over ten minutes and there are things for him to do. There was then apparently drama among the dental assistants because as soon as the only dentist walked into the assembly line, one of them said “my two patients need to be seen first even though others disagree”. So my son waited longer. At 19 months, and a 1 minute exam, that’s insane and poor customer service. It resulted in everyone continuing to listen to him cry. The dentist then didn’t even introduce himself or explain anything he was doing. As the first time going to the dentist for my son, it was an awful experience. It’s really unfortunate because this should have been a great experience for him, but now this will forever be his first time at the dentist.

My son’s 1st ever dentist appointment went smoothly thanks to the assistant Lami. The Dr had a good vibe about him as well. They let my son sit in my lap the whole time while they cleaned his teeth.

Experiencia fantástica: Great first experience here for all three of my kids ages 4-8. Also saw how they took care of two other kiddos who were first timers 1yr-18 months. They explained everything to my 4 yr old and let him try the tools before doing exam/cleaning. Dr. Was very thorough and made sure my questions were answered before moving on. All three kids were in and out in less than an hr. Very efficient.

Experiencia fantástica: This dental team really helped us to feel comfortable. My daughter had cavities and needed a dental procedure under anesthesia to resolve the issues. We called it her "Magic appointment"! Our dental team worked with the University of Iowa to make this procedure happen. We are satisfied with the level of communication, care, and sensitivity they showed us. We have been a little traumatized from previous medical system care with the lack of communication and level of controlled handling. This experience was healing for my daughter's teeth and for my own medical trauma from after birth. So grateful for her sparkly white, HEALTHY teeth Seriously, thank you ✌

Experiencia fantástica: After a fall ice skating, my 9-year-old son broke his two front teeth. Within 40 minutes of the accident, this office had my child in a chair and being worked on by Dr. McGivern and his terrific team. They knew he was scared and took the time to make him comfortable and explain everything as they went. And amazingly, somehow saved his teeth. We are so impressed with the entire office. From the lovely gal who took our original call and was able to calm me down and create an emergent appointment to have us seen, to the dental hygienists who stayed late to ensure his procedure was safely completed, and of course to the amazing Dr. McGivern who somehow created this beautiful before and after within an hour. Highly recommend for pediatric care, big or small. Hope to not need emergency services again but if we do we know we’re in good hands!

She helped find a kid friendly place for my daughter to go to for a root canal by calling around until she found somewhere that would take our insurance and this place did gret with my kid. Paige is awesome and probably deserves a raise! My daughter had a bad tooth accident last year and Iowa pediatric dental center has been awesome in helping to guide us through everything! We appreciate you soo much! Everyone is very nice when we go here which has been many times last year! Hopefully we won't have to see you as much this year!
