Experiencia fantástica: I used to be really scared of going to the dentist so I avoided it for several years. I knew I had to face it at some point and I’m glad I went to Dental Express! Staff is very lovely and the hygienist/dentist really care about your dental health! Since going I have had zero cavities and take really good care of my teeth at home and look forward to my appointments now. Shout out to Bethany, the best and funniest hygienist! She really took her time during my cleaning and my teeth look super white and healthy!

Experiencia fantástica: I would truly give this place 10 stars if I could. Called in for an emergency extraction with a tooth that I have been having severe pain with for the past 2 months and the team who helped me, I can't thank them enough. I was told by a different Dentist at a different Dental Office that I would need my tooth to be extracted, but Dental Express said they could save it by doing a root canal and placing a crown on it, and even though I'm still in pain from the injections, I couldn't be happier with the help I received. Thank you!

Experiencia negativa: If I could give them a zero stars I would. Worst experience ever, this is my second time coming back for teeth cleaning. I’m not sure if they train their dental assistance or not. First off, I’m here for teeth cleaning, I’m not here for the assistant to listen to her personal music, suppose to be professional office.I should left review last year when I complain to them about the horrible unprofessional job. Today was just the same, my whole process was finish in 10 minutes, if your getting your there clean , it be advised you put the suction tube in the mouth to suck up the water. Instead my mouth was full of water, where I almost choke. They hire inexperience personnel.

I have a limited mouth opening from a major jaw surgery, and Rebecca is the first hygienist in years who performed a deep cleaning and took X-rays without causing me pain. She is an expert advocate for her patients—she documented my case so thoroughly that my insurance approved all necessary treatments. Dr. Marty and the rest of the team are just as wonderful. The office is affordable, offers great financing options, and online booking was a breeze. I’m incredibly grateful for their expertise!

Experiencia negativa: Came here with a severe tooth infection n pain. They didn't even prescribe me with Antibiotics, so that night after experiencing worst tooth pain I ever had, I went to another dentist. The Doctor was baffled that they didn't give me a prescription for Antibiotics and gave me what I needed and scheduled me the tooth extraction I needed only a couple days later. I would of had to wait 15 days to get my tooth extraction with no Antibiotics if I went through Dental Express.

Experiencia negativa: I was treated very poorly by the staff & my anxiety was treated even more poorly. I expected to have some kindness & consideration regarding the seizures that cause my dental health issues.

Experiencia negativa: I was super upset that I was told over the phone that I would have my wisdom tooth taken out, knowing I was in pain and had mentioned it was infected and coming from riverside during the bad rainy weather. All for the Dr just to tell me what i already know and tell me my insurance didnt cover a certain part to it but were wanting to charge me for 2 removals when all I wanted was just the 1 that was infected. I would of easily just paid instead of waiting for approval from the insurance. But knowing they were closing in half an hour it didnt look like they wanted to treat me and just let me go. I was told false information when I called if can be removed same day and they told me yes and even verified if i was taking certain antibiotics for pain because they didnt want me coming a long way if I wasnt. How is this putting patients first when they already wanted to leave. As soon as I left they wasted no time locking the door. I drove an hour and 40 min for no reason. I left super upset for nothing to be done.

Experiencia negativa: Long wait times, incompetent staff. BEWARE, they will charge for a cleaning without telling you it's not covered by insurance. Not to mention, I can do a better job cleaning my teeth myself. They do have one good doctor, so plus one star, but that's all they get, and due to their billing incompetence, I won't be returning here.

Experiencia fantástica: This place deserves more than 5 stars! I hadn’t been to the dentist in years because of my high dental anxiety and embarrassment over how bad my teeth had gotten. I was in constant pain and afraid they were beyond repair. Before making my appointment with Dental Express, I had scheduled two other dentist visits elsewhere, but always found a reason to cancel. The day before my appointment at Dental Express, I was already thinking of excuses not to go. That same day, I got a call from Cathy, the receptionist, to ask a few questions about my insurance. She was so reassuring and easy to talk to. I told her about my dental problems, my fear of dentists, and how embarrassed I felt about my teeth. Cathy told me I had nothing to worry about and that the staff was gentle, caring, and non-judgmental. Honestly, if it wasn’t for Cathy’s call, I probably wouldn’t have shown up. When I arrived, I was greeted by the kindest dental assistant, who took X-rays and prepared me for Dr. Alshawi. Dr. Alshawi is absolutely amazing! She explained the procedures I needed, reassured me I was in good hands, and was incredibly gentle. She took her time explaining what she was doing and made sure I wasn’t in any pain. If you are scared of the dentist or embarrassed about your teeth, I highly recommend Dental Express and Dr. Alshawi. You won’t regret it!

Experiencia negativa: I gave 2 stars because staff is always nice. But when it comes to waiting, it's ALWAYS a pain. I have 2 children scheduled on the same day back to back and you would think they would do their best to get both kids in and out .....but they don't. They will take one in, then wait the whole extra hour to call in the other one. Turns into a 3hr visit. I mean come on now. It's pretty ridiculous. This waste of time makes the experience coming here really awful.

Then yesterday I got my teeth pulled and they forgot to send my prescriptions for pain and infection to the pharmacy. Thank God my daughter was able to give me something for the pain. Anytime I try to schedule an appointment they are 2 months away 6 months away.Waited forever in the waiting room.Then got to the Back the doctor numbed me up & then waited a hour to come back in then had to numb me again because she waited so long I switched over to a new dental office and I’m very pleased with the service they got me in the same day I scheduled!!!

Experiencia fantástica: I’m absolutely impressed at the professionalism and friendliness of all the staff members. Dr. Alshawi, and her wonderful assistants made me feel very comfortable. I’ve never encountered anything close to this dental experience. No one loves going to one, but they ensured I was ok throughout. My doctor pushed through what had been initially unapproved by Denti-Cal. What was to be a re-exam was fully approved during the visit. All the work completed, except for the appt to get my permanent crowns. My insurance was ending, and she got it done in time. A root canal, and 3 crowns! Mostly, their empathy when I told them my brother just died. I was fighting back tears while I clung onto the arms of the chair, as most of us do, in spite of not feeling the procedure. State-of-the-art equipment. Impeccably clean. The train theme is a nice plus, as well as their beautiful pottery. It’s museum-like…a nice distraction to the work at hand. I’m so grateful! It took months to find a reputable dental facility that could perform all the work in one place, especially with a rare blood cancer leaving me fearful in just anyone perform it. Please read their mission statement on their site. Owner, Dr. Casey has a history of family dentistry. He cares, and helps the less-fortunate populations by accepting Medi-Cal. It is reflected in all his staff members. So refreshing! I highly recommend The Dental Express who have several locations. Debbie

I waited in the reception area for 40 minutes was brought back to the room check my blood pressure dental hygienist came in numbeb me waited again til" 340. I decided enough. I waited enough I cannot stay all day as I have a baby at home that I exclusively breast-feed. I shouldn't have to wait an hour and 40 minutes to be helped not even get the actual procedure done. ridiculous.!!

Experiencia negativa: This place is always SOOOO SLOW and BEHIND SCHEDULE!! I’m pregnant and have been waiting in the waiting room for 30 min now for my appointment. That sounds much less than the other terrible reviews and long wait times but I have NOT been called yet. My feet are swelling and I need to use the restroom and none of the receptionists are attentive or communicative regarding wait times. I’ve been waiting so long my baby grew teeth!

Experiencia negativa: I have never written a review till now. I am so beyond upset and disappointed at this place. I have been coming to Dental Express-in Santee for years now and never have experienced what I have today. I had made an appointment to get my tooth looked at due to some pain. On their website they have a convenient way of scheduling appointments yourself. I scheduled my appointment for today 2/25 by picking the tooth ache and pain option. My appointment was at 10:00 am. I check in and waited in the lobby like everyone else. I waited for 20 minutes and started questioning why I hadn’t been taken back yet but they seemed to be a bit busy. No big deal, I kept waiting. 45 minutes went by and finally they took me back to a room. I was a little frustrated at this point because i’ve never waited that long for an appointment there. Never once did they tell me or anyone else they were running behind. I get back to a room and the dental assistant did some x rays. He then told me that they weren’t gonna be able to fix my tooth but would do teeth cleaning. He told me I scheduled it as a routine check up and that they were pretty busy. Which seemed wrong to me since I know how I scheduled it online and never had a problem before. I didn’t say anything because I felt bad they were so busy and maybe by some chance I did mess up on their website. He then told me it was gonna be a minute till I see the doctor and that he’d check up on me. I waited for another 45 minutes and never once got checked up on. I was irritated at this point. The doctor finally comes in at 11:30. My appointment was at 10:00. He looks at my teeth for about 3 minutes and tells me I need to get scheduled for a teeth filling…and a teeth cleaning. Now i’m Mad. I waited for an hour and half for them to do absolutely nothing. The doctor tells me a lady will come by to get me on the schedule. I still didn’t say anything because I didn’t want to be a “Karen”. Even though I was extremely upset. The lady comes in, looks me up and down. Gives me a dirty look and says, “The next available appointment will be in July”. I started laughing because i’m thinking to myself this has to be a joke. She says “or I can try to call you if someone cancels but that’s all i can do for you”. She was extremely rude and made me feel super uncomfortable. I am now sitting there trying to figure out if I want to wait 5 months with a tooth ache. Which I think is ridiculous. She never even offered for another dentist to see me sooner. She rushes me and says “so what do you want to do”. I just told her no thanks, don’t schedule me. I’ll be going somewhere else. She shrugs her shoulders at me and says “okay”. She walks out the room and never said i’m sorry, thank you for coming, and didn’t even show me the way out. I’ve never gotten treated with so much disrespect and never witnessed so much unprofessionalism at a dentist office. If they were so busy they shouldn’t have schedule so many people at the same time. This place needs to learn how to communicate with their patients. I walked out and I will unfortunately never come back to this dentist office. I now understand why there is more than one bad review about this place.

Experiencia negativa: I just switched to this dentist cause it’s close by my second visit I did a cleaning and the dental hygienist that did my cleaning was awesome and did a fantastic job! My only complaint is there is usually a long wait time after your scheduled appointment and there is absolutely no WiFi in the building I’ve honestly considered switching to another dentist facility nearby due to the lack of WiFi connection in the building you typically spend about and hour or 2 here with no phone connection and I have kids so I’m so worried the whole time sitting in the chair impatient ready to finish just in case there is an emergency I would not be able to receive the call/text they should really look into getting public WiFi for the patient’s.

Cyndy the hygienist numb me for Dr.Mays And I didn’t felt anything her numbing technique was very soft. Thank you Dr.mays and the Karina and Lindsey are very nice and made it happend for me! Experiencia negativa: My experience at the Santee location was dreadful. I was harassed by the manager. She said her name was Karina. I was scheduled for an appointment at 12pm and I had to wait 4 hours. After the appointment, I had some questions for the dentists. The manager came out to help me and she got upset and yelled at me. I told her to lower her voice and she said "I can yell at you if I want to." I requested to work with someone else but she refused to let anyone else help me. I tried to leave and she blocked my path, I had to exit through another route. I am appalled at the rudeness and unprofessionalism of the manager. She cannot be employed as a manager if she thinks she can yell and harass patients when she wants to.

Experiencia positiva: I have been coming to Dental Express for many years now, based on a referral from a friend. Their offices are beautiful, large and airy with a train theme that features a train running near the ceiling throughout the offices. Cute! I have found the admin staff to always be pleasant and efficient and I almost never have to wait. They did a beautiful job on some dentures for me, so I have referred at least 3 friends for the same. They were also pleased with the results and timeliness of getting the job done. They take most insurance including Medi-Cal, so don't put off going to see them! Your smile will change your life!

Experiencia fantástica: So I’ve been to this location many times for my wife and children. And all of them have had great experiences without any complaints. I have also had some experience with Dr. Marty and I’ll have to say, I’ll never go anywhere else! 11-7-24 My experiences have been under unreal amounts of tooth pain and anxiety attacks. But not only did Dr. Marty take the pain from a 10 to a “0”, he also made me feel extremely calm and that my anxiety was normal. He gave me the meds to take an hour before I came back, and he got this aggravated root canal taken care off in about a half an hour. Pain free days are ahead so thank you Doc. A+

Experiencia fantástica: The dentists at this office are great . However the staff here has attitude and I once had an issue with them over billing me . I am the one who caught the error and when I tried to explain to them I was not paying it became almost an argument. After calling my insurance I had to prove they made a mistake . Close to a year later the issue was fixed . I figured I’ll let that error go and not hold a drudge against the office errors happen. Today I was driving by the office and I decided to stop and book a cleaning in person . I was told they did. It have any on a Tuesday or it was way out and that I should call the office on the phone . I was like I am here now to make an appointment? I walked out and I am going to another dentist. The office called me and they fixed the issue , so I am 100% satisfied . They were extremely polite and Koriana went out of her way to make things right . I also may have acted rude to them which was bad thing.. I apologized and we are both happy now

Experiencia fantástica: I will miss everyone at Dental Express in Santee. I have to move to Oceanside. Dr. Jerry my dentist is great. It is like not even getting anything done as you don't feel anything and he is fast and does excellent work. I never had crowns before and knew nothing about them but it was a ease with Dr. Jerry. I will add that I am a nervous person and they could ease my mind about anything that was done to my teeth. The office staff is wonderful and Karina is a sweetheart. They have done so much for me and I will never forget them. I am new to a big city like San Diego. They are very welcoming and I feel tears coming now.

From the front desk girlies to the dental assistant, to the Dentist.... all a outstanding "5" great experience! the Dental Hygienist...well....we'll try to make her smile the next time. I love this place... the office staff and the Hygienist are the best....Unfortunately will not be coming back anytime soon...the dentist have changed and my experience is no longer worth the 5 star I had provided previously. I was given a wrong diagnosis... before getting that surprising root canal...get a second opinion. I was previously a dental assistant.. I am aware of what to look for yet to the inexperienced...stay alert and ask questions.

Experiencia fantástica: The entire office from the front office staff, to my amazing dentist, are phenomenal. The shining star, hands down, is Ashely! There’s another associate whose name I can’t remember, who make all my angst, immediately disappear. I always know Ashley is going to be gentle, explain things in detail, and provide me with a blanket. This office rocks! Looking forward to my next appointment.

Experiencia fantástica: Dr Jerry & his staff (Ashley, Lindsey, Corina, & Theresa) go above & beyond every time I have come in. Dr Jerry is VERY patient with me, answers all my questions, and each of his assistants & office personnel take extra time with planning or scheduling my treatment. Dr. Jerry & his assistants ALWAYS ensure my comfort & best interest are put first & foremost. I could not be happier that I found Dental Express and HIGHLY RECOMMEND this location for any dental needs you may have. Corrina also let me know about their new membership which has a very reasonable annual fee but immediately will save me over $2000 on my next treatment visit since I have already reached my maximum for this year.

I walked in at 9am for an emergency visit (I was experiencing really bad cavity pain) as a walk in/new patient and they had me in within a matter of minutes getting X-rays done and having me placed in a room! I had Dr. Marty come in and explain the work that needed to be done and he ended up taking care of me between patients! His sincere care along with the assistants is something I will never forget. He talked me through every step of my extraction and fillings and I didn’t feel a thing..even when it came to the numbing! If anyone needs top of the line care this is the place to be!! I am switching from that awful place called western dental and making dental express our dentistry home!!

Experiencia fantástica: My 9 year old had the best experience with Dr.Marty and Dr.Donna. This place is like no dentist Ive seen before. My daughter has been traumatized by other dentists and I was scared I wasn’t going to be able to find a good dentist. Dr.Marty is literally a needle in the haystack. They care! The amount of effort and empathy these dentists have is so hard to find and I am so grateful for Dr.Marty and Dr Donna. My kiddo normally needs to go completely under bc of all the trauma and because Dr.Marty is so calm and gentle and is so good with kids she didn’t need to be completely under. The way he speaks to his patients is like nothing I’ve seen before and he doesn’t rush they don’t over book either. Dr.Donna was also very calming and gentle and soothing. It’s almost like they’re trauma experts. The world needs more of these two. Not only did she make my daughter feel comfortable but she was very comforting to me as well. It’s not loud and chaotic here either like the super dentist. They don’t do unnecessary work which is extremely hard to find. I wish I could give more stars for Dr Marty and Dr Donna. I will only go here for me and my kiddo from now on

Experiencia fantástica: I have been genetically “gifted” with horrible teeth and have cavities in almost all of them (that I have left). Recently I visited at least 4 dentists and specialists after tremendous pain that I ended up being hospitalized for. None of the dentists/oral surgeons wanted to treat me. I was finally referred to Dental Express in Santee. Dr. Jerry Hernandez is wonderful. I need 5 extractions including a wisdom tooth, a complex root canal, bone grafts, crowns and partial implants and Dr. Hernandez can do All of it! He and his staff are kind, listen to all of your concerns and they’re extremely professional. Their office is conveniently located, beautiful and clean and they have all state of the art equipment. I just wish I found them sooner! Definitely going to have my entire family use this dentist. Obviously highly recommended! 5 stars.

Experiencia fantástica: OMG this was the best experience I ever had at a dental office. I received 2 root canals and I didn’t feel any pain, not even the numbing shot hurt. Dr.Mays was amazing she was so kind , she explained every step, and the procedure was pain free. Her and Jemima really took care of me. I’m so grateful for this experience , I think my dental phobia is gone thanks to Dr.Mays.

Experiencia positiva: Today is the third time I am here and I have to wait because one of the hygienist did not show up!!! This situation happen on previous appointment ----I believe they need to pay more to their staffso they don't "just not show up" they are constantly short staffed it show when they don't answer the phones and don't return voicemails today I waited 40 min .--The staff that is here today is great and I appreciate the office is very clean.

Experiencia negativa: I went and got a tooth pulled last week, and it was still hurting, so I went to the emergency room and they said the dentist left a piece of tooth in my gums, and she put stitches as if she removed the entire tooth!!! I am upset that I have to go through the whole process again, shots and all!!

Experiencia negativa: I gave 2 stars because the employees are very friendly and nice, because the truth is I was going to give them a star because it is ridiculous how long we had to wait for the procedure they were going to do on my daughter, the appointment was at 11 and they attended to her until 12 :25.

Experiencia fantástica: This is by far the best dental facility I’ve ever used. Dr. Marty and all the staff really make a concerted effort to take care of your dental work with little to no pain and they actually accommodate your needs instead of the traditional “grin and bear it” method. Nothing but positive experiences for the last two years! For my part I highly recommend Dental Express in Santee.

Experiencia positiva: Me and my family have been coming here for years now and everyone is great. Today I came in for a regular cleaning and the person who did my cleaning her name was Melly was extremely heavy handed, it was the most painful cleaning ever. She also put the foam right on finger and just stuck it in my mouth which I have NEVER had any professional just stick the foam in my mouth with their finger. My dad and my brother have had issues with her due to the same exact thing. Wonderful place but please be aware and stay away from Melly.

He decided to deliver a service that he never did before, he went above and beyond to take care of my disabled kid, he simply said that he never did Root Canal retreatment , he still did what he could to help my son, and he spent 2:30 hours worked tirelessly on his gum until he fixed it , completely without any problems, I and my husband want to take a minute and thank him deep down our hearts for his ultimate help and excellent customer service, May God bless him and all the staff, the job he did usually coasts about 1 k per tooth and he made it possible for us to have covered under our insurance! He just saved us 2 k ! I would highly recommend you all to get treated at this branch of dental express ! I wish Dr.Marty all the best, Safa &Adam

Experiencia negativa: This place sucks. I made an appointment and waited over an hour.. first time going, don't waste your time (unless you like to). Do yourself a favor and go some where else. Whole experience was terrible. They claimed I did not have an appointment however I have email and texts that say otherwise. Tried to talk with Patricia the manager and she was no help either.
