Experiencia negativa: I have been trying to resolve my daughter’s bill after my insurance company informed me that the claim was already paid. Each time I contact the billing department, I’m told they will review and rectify the issue. However, I have now received another bill for the sixth time. When I ask for details about my previous calls, they are unable to tell me who I spoke with. They can only see that I called and that a note was entered, but it does not indicate the representative’s name, which I find very concerning.

Experiencia negativa: I recently had a crown replaced at Folly Road Dental Care. Before the procedure, they provided a treatment plan outlining what I would owe, and I approved it in good faith. Six months later, I was surprised to receive a bill for the full cost of the crown. After digging into it, I learned that the office submitted the claim to my insurance provider twice. Both times, the insurer explained that a pre‑authorization was required for a procedure like this. Handling pre‑authorizations — especially for major treatments — is the responsibility of the provider’s billing team. That’s exactly why these back‑office processes exist. The insurer also told the office they would allow a 90‑day grace period if the correct form was submitted. Unfortunately, the office missed that window as well, and the claim was eventually denied. The Office Manager reminded me that the new‑patient paperwork that I signed a couple of years ago clearly states that patients are responsible if insurance doesn’t pay. Due to their negligence, the full charge of the crown now falls on me — even though the issue was entirely administrative. This wasn’t a gray‑area insurance dispute; it was a preventable clerical failure. Sound fair to you?

The doctors are always willing to spend as much time as they need to answer the questions I have. I never feel like they are rushing. They are very efficient and I have never had to wait. The front desk staff is friendly and can explain billing. Highly recommend.

Experiencia negativa: I had a very unprofessional experience. I was given an X-ray that I did not need, and I was never asked whether I had already received one within my insurance coverage period. Had I been asked, I would have declined. I was also never informed at checkout that I would be charged $100 for the X-ray. Instead, I received an unexpected bill in the mail. When I called to explain the situation, the representative I spoke with was rude and dismissive. I explained that I am a student and could not afford the $100 charge, especially for a service I would not have consented to had I been properly informed. She showed no empathy and had an attitude throughout the call. This experience reflects poor communication, lack of transparency regarding costs, and unprofessional customer service. ALSO NOTICE all these 1 star reviews say the same thing about getting unexpected billing after the fact… seems to be a trend

The concern and care they have for you is way over the top. Dr Barrett and her crew Ashley 'Brian ,Efren ,Stacy. They are all great. I could go on and on. The team makes you feel very comfortable and are always transparent when it comes to pricing and also provide great referrals (Root Canal and Wisdom Teeth removal for me!). Mallory my hygienist is amazing! She does great work and is such a pleasure to be around! You can easily see how much pride she takes in her work and how much care she has for her patients. I would recommend any one to this practice!

Experiencia fantástica: Very good service. The hygienist sees you right away. Does a thorough job cleaning and checking your teeth. The dentist comes in and goes over any potential problems she notices from xrays and her visual exam of your teeth, gums and tongue. Super thorough and professional.

Experiencia negativa: So quick recap, I had an appointment scheduled for 6 months, the day of the appointment they call and cancel me, lack of staff. They told me to come in the following Monday, on monday they called and canceled me again for lack of staff. They said the next available appointment is 3 months out….. I called a few days later asking to be put on a move up list. This got me moved me to 2 months out... to my surprise the office called and asked if I could come in this Wednesday. I got there and it appears they never confirmed my appointment……. This appointment canceling and moving you games has happened to me my last 3 visits….. Good luck

I had to bring my 13 month old baby who just found her voice, and everyone made me feel welcome and comfortable and helped even though she was making the LOUDEST noises imaginable. I will 100% be returning thanks to their kindness.

I had many things to be addressed initially, and they were extremely knowledgeable, supportive, and sensitive towards me from start to finish. I also appreciate their diligent follow-ups to to see how I am doing, and provided me with excellent referrals for necessary dental work out of their scope of practice. From new patient enrollment to today, I have had a five-star experience --including the latest state-of-the-art technologies, engaged staff, and fantastic office music along the way (ha)! Their entire staff are clearly client-centric, so I could not recommend this practice (that I was also referred to) any more than I just did!

Experiencia negativa: Tried to cancel my appointment because I didn’t think my insurance would cover the entire visit, they supposedly crunched the numbers and said it would so I kept my appointment. On the day of my appointment, at the counter, I asked again will 100% of my bill today be covered by insurance. They said “as long as you don’t need an extensive deep cleaning, yes”. After the visit I was not told I needed a deep cleaning or that I owed them anything.. So I was shocked but more so annoyed and disappointed when two weeks later I got a $160 bill. Super frustrating since I had asked for clarification multiple times, feels like I was scammed. I will not be back or recommending this place. One star for a nice dentist and hygienist, just wish yall didn’t leave such a terrible taste in my mouth.

Experiencia negativa: I do not typically leave reviews but I am so disappointed in the service I have received at this office that I have to post. The last time I went there for my semi-annual appointment the dentist did not even come do the examination. I was made aware after I showed up that they had the day off, so I just had a cleaning. Then 6 months later my next appointment was scheduled in the afternoon, but woke up early that morning feeling sick and went to an urgent care. I called in to cancel my appointment, given the sickness, and I did not want a dentist to have to put their hands in my mouth. They charged me a $50 cancellation fee because “my cancellation was sounded like an excuse for not having to come in and now they can’t fill my spot”. They didn’t want to lose one appointment, but now they have lost a patient.

Experiencia negativa: Let me start off saying this. I wasn’t going to post a review. I called to speak with the office manager to resolve this directly, but was told they weren’t available, and would call me back. That also, never happened. So here we are: Ever since they lost many of the staff and providers that were there when I originally starting coming here, they have really gone down hill. That is putting it nicely. This is my second appointment that I had to wait over 50 minutes to see someone for just an annual cleaning. I eventually just walked out, after it happened again, and thought that was the end. I then received an email from them with a balance on my account of exactly $50. Not specifying what it was on the invoice, I called, and was told it was a fee for ‘missing’ my appointment. This is the same appointment I checked into, and walked out after having to wait over 50 minutes. I refused to pay the fee, and disputed it with my credit card company, and in turn it was handled. I will NEVER go back to this office again, as this is very unprofessionally ran, and being in the medical industry myself, the staff do not have any compassion in what they do, only to collect a paycheck. I would avoid this office at all costs.

The practice is having a hard time keeping an afternoon appointment. Holding appointments does not appear to be a priority and for that reason I'm leaving a poor review.

I had this scheduled for 6 weeks and structured my day—including unpaid time off and other services—around it. A last-minute request to come 2 hours earlier (which I was unable to do) due to internal staffing needs with no effort to offer real alternatives or compensate for the inconvenience was incredibly frustrating. I’d like to know how your office plans to ensure this doesn’t happen to other patients moving forward.

I found Dr. Barrett to be extremely knowledgeable and communicative about my dental situation and held nothing back. Experiencia negativa: This Dental office told me I needed a deep cleaning. I told him I didn’t want a deep cleaning. I just wanted a regular cleaning. They told me the deep cleaning would be covered under my insurance. And that they would not do a regular cleaning because the insurance was gonna cover the deep cleaning. so I have the deep cleaning done and they sent me a bill for $672 saying the insurance did not pay for it. They told me I have another appointment for a cleaning later this year six months from the initial cleaning. I talked to the billing person and she was very rude. I asked how much the next cleaning would cost and she told me to call the insurance. I told her I didn’t know what to tell the insurance and that they had previously called the insurance before the first procedure. Why wouldn’t they call the insurance for the second procedure and tell me how much it would cost. She didn’t want to do that. I canceled my appointment. I will never deal with them again.

I have dental anxiety and my fears were eased almost as soon as I walked into the building. I was greeted cheerfully by the receptionists (despite it only being 6:30am). Special shout out to Ashley, she made my experience a 10/10. I met with Dr. Rainwater and he explained to me what work I needed to have done and worked with me to get a treatment plan in the works. I also met Mallory, who's gentle and patient as well. After my visit, one of the receptionists (I can't remember her name) explained the insurance breakdown and what my out of pocket costs would be and answered all of my questions relating to that. I have been to 3 dentists in my life, but I do not see myself ever leaving Folly Road Dental Care. You all are AMAZING!

Experiencia negativa: From the beginning I should have known there would be a problem with billing here. I have 2 dental insurances. My insurance company told me Folly Road Dental was an in-network participating provider. The person who made my first appointment agreed. Then 2 days before my appointment someone called from Folly Road Dental and said they don't accept my insurance. After a month long battle, my insurance company calling them, it turns out they are an in network participating provider. I told them that I didn't want them to do any work that is not covered by my insurance at least 3 times between Nov 2024 and today. I was told by the office people that my bill would be covered by my 2 dental insurances in full multiple times. Now they are going to tell me after I already had the work done that I owe $800. Had I known, no work would have been done because I live off of social security and barely have enough to live. So this bill will not be paid by me.

Experiencia negativa: Terrible experience, would not recommend... Early 2024 before an international trip, I needed a cavity taken care of in an area where I had previous crown work. Went here since it's closer to home than my previous dentist... Half way through the procedure, I was thrown out because my blood pressure was way too high and told to get on medication and come back. Left me with a molar ground halfway down, a temporary cap, and a warning that I might drop dead at any moment. I immediately got on blood pressure meds from my general practice doctor (who surprisingly did not share the same level of concern that I might actually die of heart failure while in the dentist chair). I returned a couple weeks later because the temporary cap had fallen out and my trip was rapidly approaching. Unfortunately despite the medication... my blood pressure was still reading a bit high. The dental assistant then informs me that Dr. Barrett would not "see" me because of this. Not only would she not reattach the top of my jack-o-lantern like tooth... she would not actually come into the room and physically "see" me. Which was probably a good thing. I'm guessing her presence at that point could possibly have triggered my heart to finally explode within my chest. With just days left until my trip I returned to my former dentist in a panic, who promptly completed the procedure. Then, while paying I was informed that Folly Road Dental Care had ALREADY filed the claim for this procedure despite not completing it! So I had to pay out of pocket... Is it possible this place may have been the source of my high blood pressure all along? Thanks Folly Road Dental Care and Cardiac Concern!

Experiencia fantástica: I've had a different dental hygienist every time and they've all been very gentle and good! The dentists are also honest in their assessment of your teeth. 3 years and cavity free!

Experiencia fantástica: I hate going to the dentist, and anyone who knows me has heard me say I couldn't even be friends with a dentist, but let me tell you about the Ash experience. Today I had to go in for a filling replacement I'd been avoiding for over six months. They had offered me laughing gas this time, so that was something to look forward to at least. When Ashley brought me back and said, "Welcome to the Ash experience. I'm going to turn off the lights and put on RÜFÜS DU SOL Live from Joshua Tree," I almost wept with relief. We chatted about our mutual love for the group before Ashley eased me into to the nitrous and then I vibed for forty minutes despite what was going on in my mouth. I'm ruined for any other dental work setup for life.
