Experiencia negativa: EDIT: after having my filling redone with Dr. Borden and using my new night guard, I actually fell into a long series of issues. The filling affected my bite and thew off my alignment, which exacerbated many of my jaw issues. Repairing it has taken months, and several more hours of my time which included finding a new dentist. I felt discouraged when it felt like Dr. Borden wasn’t listening to my concerns, saying that the movement of a new wisdom tooth was what affected my bite, even though my bite shifted the same day as my procedure with her (other dentists have since agreed it was unlikely to be the wisdom tooth). The night guard was so helpful at first, but when I asked Dr. Borden if it was okay that it only hit my front teeth I believed her. Unfortunately, months later I learned that’s the cause of my new sensitivity on my front teeth. All that pressure really hit hard and created a lot of soreness. It’s taken several months to undo these issues. I still think Dr. Borden is a good dentist, but maybe not for such complex issues as TMJ/TMD that require so much self-advocating. First review: I had the most incredible experience at Dr. Borden's office!! I cannot recommend her and her staff highly enough. The receptionists made my life so easy, taking care of scheduling, insurance and referrals. My hygienist really took the time to listen to my concerns and get to know me as a patient, then she was so gentle and effective! I feel like I have such a radiant smile now. Dr. Borden is out of this world AMAZING!! I've been struggling with jaw pain for decades, and she is well versed and was prepared to offer help. She fitted me for a new kind of night-wear retainer and I noticed the impact the next day. My pain is relived, my smile looks great, and I feel cared for and respected. I really can't recommend them enough!!

Experiencia positiva: *updated review. Dr. Borden called me to apologize for the miscommunication and it is clear patient satisfaction is a big priority for her. I have never left a review before but I am deeply disappointed and frustrated. The 2 stars are for the very sweet and patient hygienist and the kind ladies working in the front. I was told I would likely need a root canal on a tooth Dr. Borden filled. She gave me no explanation of what that process would look like and did not ask if I had questions. She talked to me for maybe 3 minutes before continuing a procedure she was already working on with another patient. I’ve never had a root canal so I didn’t know what to expect. She did not tell me that I would need to come back in 2 weeks to have a crown put on, she did not tell me that their office does not do same day crowns(you have to go in for a 2 hour appointment 2 weeks post root canal and then come back in 3-4 weeks for another appointment to place the crown), and she did not even tell me how my other teeth were looking or mention if I was missing any spots brushing or potential cavity spots. I’ve had other fillings done by other dentists and none have felt the way hers did, which slightly altered my bite. I always give people the benefit of the doubt but this is the 2nd time I’ve felt rushed and brushed off by her. The endodontist even said “I’m sure your dentist explained all of this to you” and I had to tell him no and that I only learned I needed a crown because of his intake paper. It’s even more frustrating considering I’m moving out of state soon so I will have to see another dentist in the area who does same day crowns. Again very sweet hygienists and women working the front desk, clean facility.

They made the whole process relaxing with a massage chair and warm mitts and lotion on your hands while they work. When they took off the old veneers I watched a comedy show with headphones. Very professional AND relaxing. When I came home, my husband told me I had a smile that looked like a Hollywood star! I’m very happy.

I drove 3.5 hours to come and see them, I had been to multiple dentist around my area who all recommend me getting extensive work to remove “enamel issues”, come to find out after 5 seconds of looking Dr. Borden was able to go in an remove braces concrete that had been left on my teeth for 8 years. I will forever be making the trip to go see all of these beautiful people in this office.

Experiencia positiva: EDIT: I decided to go with Magnolia Family Dentistry because they said I could absolutely go in for a cleaning straight away. While I was under the NO2, they did the comprehensive exam thereby eliminating any extra unnecessary stress. Additionally, they included it in the price of the cleaning. I needed a crown made and they have a machine ON SITE that makes it right there so it was all done in one visit (cleaning one visit, crown visit 2). I absolutely adore them and they are my number one choice of dentist. Just to be clear I am NOT a patient here. This review is of my initial phone call. I was quite excited to try this dentist as she came EXTREMELY highly rated from another dentist who is on maternity leave. I called and the person who answered the phone was GREAT. Helpful, responsive etc.. However, when I asked to schedule a cleaning they said they would NOT do that without doing a comprehensive exam first. Which might seem fine except I LITERALLY had a full comprehensive exam from another dentist yesterday complete with 3D imaging of teeth Pano, the pick thing looking at gum numbers and so on. He just wasn’t able to fit me in for a cleaning in time so I thought I’d try her since she was so highly recommended. I asked if they could transfer my records from yesterday since it was a very comprehensive exam and was told they definitely will not do any cleanings without redoing the comprehensive exam. I had expressed my anxiety about dentistry so the fact that she wanted me to go through that experience AGAIN (not to mention the expense) when she could look at the OBJECTIVE facts (X-rays etc are not subjective) made me really disappointed and prospective clients should know this.

Experiencia fantástica: Our whole family is seen at Oasis and we could not be happier. Everyone in the office is personable and exceptionally helpful with appointments and insurance needs. The routine care is great and both my daughters look forward to seeing Dr. Borden every 6 months. In addition to routine care, Dr. Borden has gone above and beyond to provide emergent care for our daughter. After a fall left my daughter’s tooth barely hanging on, we called the emergency line and were fortunate to receive a return call from Dr. Borden within minutes. While she and I spoke on the phone, I sent pictures of the tooth and she told me she would meet us at the office in 20 minutes. Within 30 minutes of the accident, my daughter was getting x-rays and Dr. Borden was able to re-set the tooth successfully. She and her team continued to follow through, calling to check on my daughter and also having her in for another visit within a day. My daughter has managed to keep her tooth - I give all the credit to Dr. Borden’s swift action, exceptional care, and compassion.

Everything about Oasis is top-notch. From the entire staff, to the office environment, to the knowledge and skills of the practitioners, we are happy to have found our new dental home! Experiencia fantástica: My husband and I just moved to Charleston and needed a new dentist. This office by far had the best reviews in the area and after going yesterday I see why. From first calling to going in for a cleaning, it was a really pleasant and joyful experience. The gal on the phone was so cheerful and made a mundane task switch to a sweet interaction. The office was well named, Oasis is a great name to describe the inside and the experience. It did not feel like any dentist office I’ve ever been to. Did I mention the staff was so lovely? They all carried themselves with a calm, joyful and comforting presence. Ansli went above and beyond for me with my cleaning. She took her time explaining things to me and spent extra time on an issue I’ve been having (that no other tech has taken the time to listen or acknowledge- she fixed in 1 minute) and it was after 5pm. They are truly sincere and kind people. If you go, please treat them the same. I truly had such a great experience and I am very grateful to have found our new dentist

My wife and I moved to Mt. pleasant a few months ago and both have had great experiences. Everyone is super knowledgeable, helpful, and you’d be hard pressed to see any of them not smiling and happy. Super thankful to be establishing with them!
