The cost to pay cash myself was actually cheaper then using my insurance and paying the copay. This operation does not seem to be client oriented and my family and I will be looking for another dentist.

My tooth required a visit to an endodontist, and they provided me with an excellent one that saw me the same day. I was ready for an extraction but it looks like the tooth was saved. Definitely recommend this clinic.

Experiencia negativa: Just got out from the dentist office. I was there for 1 hour. I was able to see the doctor, and all they did was taking an xray. They will call me back for the teeth cleaning. What a bunch of B.S. now I have to wait for them to call me either today or sometime this week for teeth cleaning. Zero for this place.

Experiencia positiva: This place did help make a previous dentist's poor work, which I appreciate. I came in back in 2022 for a root canal and filling. Dr. Li didn't do the work correctly, so the filling fell out over the weekend. He never put on a crown over the root canal tooth either. Dr. Hale did offer to replace the filling, but once he was in there, the loose filling had caused more damage. My tooth is worse than it was before Dr. Li touched it, and while I appreciate Dr. Hale making it right, I am pretty upset with the results from my original experience. FYI Dr. Li is now at Belmar Smiles in Lakewood. Avoid at all costs - he should be sued for malpractice.

Experiencia negativa: I was a patient of Hampden Dental Group in Aurora for 4 years and I will say the majority of my experience with them has been fine but there are some things that have made me decide to switch dentists. The first reason is that there have been 3 different dentists in the four years I have been going here, not sure the reasoning but there seems to be a lot of turnover in that sense. The next issue I had was one of the dentists (not the current one) told me I could really use Invisalign and that I could get a discount on it. I was in my late 30's at the time and have never needed braces or been told I did prior to this so this felt like a money grab. The final issue for me was I had a regular exam this past August where it was recommended I get a new crown. Apparently the dentist asked if I had the old crown done within the last 5 years and I said no. We got my crown appointment scheduled for 3 months later so I came back in November and had my crown taken off and a temporary crown put on. When I came in for my second crown appointment in December, Ashley at the front desk told me that my insurance denied the crown because it had not been 5 years since my last crown on that tooth. I asked why they hadn't called to verify benefits before my old crown was taken off and was told it was because I had told the dentist it was older than 5 years. I told Ashley and one of the dental hygienists that I barely even remember the conversation. The dental hygienist stated clearly that the dentist always asks patients if the crown is older than 5 years and that I should have known the date of my last crown. In the end I had to pay out of pocket for the new crown. The fact that they used my conversation with the dentist as the reason not to call to verify benefits seems negligent and lackadaisical. Also, when I called the insurance myself after this happened I found out that if we had waited 30 days it would have been covered. Lastly, I talked to my brother-in-law who is a dental surgeon in Texas and asked if this was common and he said there isn't a standard but at his practice they always verify benefits prior to treatment to prevent issues like this. He also mentioned he found it odd that the dentist asked if it was older than 5 years. He stated that if the crown is bad or there is an issue you replace it, regardless of how old it is and this may be a tactic to try to take advantage of insurance knowing they will cover it if it's older than 5 years. I don't know if that's the case here, but I would rather go to a dental office where I don't have to question whether or not they have fully honest/ethical practices.

Experiencia negativa: Gave me a quote and paid what was agreed on after they checked my insurance. 6 months later sent me a bill for over $230 and said it was an estimate even though I asked to make sure before getting the work done.

After only about 18 months with the practice, he has more than met my expectations & I have come to trust him implicitly. Doesn’t have a clue.Caused me a lot of pain and ruined my mouth.He put 2 shots on each side of my lower mouth to numb that caused a bunch of mouth ulcers. When I had to come back in because of all the pain I was in he charged me for an office visit.He has his helpers do most of the work and they don’t know what they are doing.He gives me an estimate on the lower bridge in the front of my mouth then after the work is done and I’ve already paid 3600.00 I get a new bill for 1500.00 as well as several new hidden fees. This guy will empty your pockets and do very cheap looking work on your mouth that looks and feels cheap and your mouth will hurt for weeks. Stay Away!!!!

And I felt really pressured to sign up for teeth correction Invisalign. Very forced and pressured which was really inappropriate imo. Was considering not going back but needed to get a cleaning and they were able to get me in next day with a cancellation. But the second visit, your hygienist Vanessa was really the rock star. She explained everything as she was doing the cleaning taking time to talk and listen, and give tips on preventative care. It was obvious that she is very kind and certainly cares. It totally redeemed my perspective. And the front staff was warm so total 180 in my experience. Give Vanessa a high five.

Experiencia fantástica: One of the top two dentist's offices of my life! I think it was a new hygienist who did my cleaning and gum exam. Very competent and efficient; everything was completed remarkably quickly. That was followed by a long conversation with the dentist, who took his time to answer my questions and discuss issues I'd had in the past when under the care of other dentists. I learned a lot and was impressed with his depth of knowledge on the chemistry of oral hygiene and other matters. In sum, I LOVE this practice! I feel like I'm in very good hands.

Experiencia negativa: I usually only leave reviews for 5 stars but this was such a bad experience. This staff was extremely unfriendly and unwelcoming. The doc was the only kind part in the visit but was quick to leave when there was an issue. Originally, I called to ask for a price on cleaning. She said it was $59 for new patients and they had an opening the next day. I asked how much after the first cleaning to which she told me she couldn’t give that info out over the phone… hmmmm. All legitimate health care services should at least offer a range. Despite the red flag, I scheduled and arrived early as instructed to fill out paperwork. I was completely forgotten about and had to ask 40 minutes later how long the wait would be. No one offered an apology or thanked me for waiting. The tech, who didn’t speak to me, proceeded to take my x-rays. I was left to sit for another 15 minutes before the Dr. came in. He spent a couple minutes with me and my images, explaining a recommendation that would be a conservative measure but not necessary. He would put together a treatment plan for me to review. Again I waited about 20 minutes. The tech came back and told me that it was taking a long time because my treatment plan was really expensive. I’m sorry, what? I said I’m not concerned about the treatment plan. I am concerned with being in the office for over 90 minutes and I haven’t gotten my teeth cleaned. She told me I wasn’t getting my teeth cleaned. Apparently even though they made the appointment the day prior, I was not scheduled with a hygienist and that I would have to come back. Needless to say I got up to leave stopping at the front to confirm this information. I, in fact, was not getting my teeth cleaned AND I was still getting charged for this visit. If you go to their website it specifically says “Healthy mouth cleaning, exam, and x-rays ON YOUR FIRST VISIT.” This is false advertising. The way they schedule and try to get you to sign up for treatment you don’t need is a scam. I had someone else look at my teeth and didn’t see any of the treatments that Hampden suggested. This business is poorly run and has been reported to the FTC for false advertising as well as being fraudulent.

Experiencia fantástica: Dr. Hails, Ashley, Ruby, Vanessa and all of the team at HDG are caring and attentive, and firm when they need to be! What I mean by that is the Dr. is all about putting your flames out, and when the procedure is done he makes sure to reaffirm and assure that everything is satisfactory and that you can call him anytime if there are issues. He has handled my treatment from the beginning, he is the only o e I have trusted to do my implants after hesitating for 10 + years. Ruby is kind, calming and attentive, she is a saviour when diverting your attention away from any pain or discomfort you may ne feeling. Highly recommend this office.

Experiencia negativa: I am writing this review on behalf of my mother. The dental hygienists here are amazing, kind, warm, and welcoming. The same cannot be said about Dr. Hails. We understand that the work is busy and multiple patients have to be attended, but Dr.Hails did not even greet my mother, check in with her as he was doing work on her, and even caused her to tear up from the pain because he did not allow enough time for the numbing to settle in. My mother said that after he finished doing a task on her, she would hear him converse kindly and laugh with the other patients he was seeing in the other rooms. This broke my heart. My mom says she felt disposable and like a nuisance to him. My mother is able to communicate and respond in English, I wonder why the Dr did not want to speak with her. Please do better and reflect; this type of demeanor from a dentist is unacceptable.

The hygienist also performed a new type of wellness scan for me, which displayed a 3D image of what my teeth currently look like. Overall, excited for my next appointment.

Experiencia negativa: I just left Doctor Kaploe's office in tears. She is the rudest, unprofessional, unsympathetic doctor I have ever encountered. I regret moving offices and having this as my primary dentist. I've had mild tooth pain and when I tried to schedule an appointment they had nothing available. It has aggressively gotten worse, and I have a secondary orthodontist who is working on my Invisalign braces. At that visit, he told me I may have a cavity under the filing that Doctor Kaploe filled. I called the office around 5:00 p.m. on Friday, understanding that it would be closed but an on-call physician could help me with my problem. The receptionist told me that she would contact my dentist and see what could be done. Dr. Kaploe called me at a restricted number which I didn't answer not knowing it was her (who answers restricted anyways) stating I should take IBuprofen and if that doesn't work take Tylenol 3 (which is a prescription medication NOT an OTC) and then go to the ER. Friday night the swelling was unbearable and Saturday I woke up with a pillow full of blood. I went to the ER and was prescribed medication for a terrible bacterial infection. I left a message at Hampden Dental providing them the details of my ER stay and the urgency to be seen. When I arrived I showed the dental assistant my photos and she took X-rays. Dr. Kaploe then joined the visit and asked a couple of questions and that's when tug of war started. I stated I didn't appreciate having a dental office where there is no on-call dentist as my teeth condition declined so rapidly. She stated she was the only dentist (there is also a male dentist)and that there weren't any staff members to help. I have several fill-ins and some during an ER situation over the weekend; there is always an on-call dentist. Maybe because of the holidays, none wanted to work, but that's their role as physicians. She started to perform an examination took the sharp instrument and poked my already swollen and bleeding gums. I said "No do not poke there" (why would you, as one can see the gross inflammation!). She stopped and said she sensed some hostility and asked what she wanted me to do to help me. I responded by fixing my tooth and under the circumstances have some compensation for my ER bill. She then aggressively stated I should have come in earlier (which nothing was available as my already tooth cleaning is scheduled out for the end of April) and that I was not going to get compensated for my $100 ER bill and ran off left to check on my x-rays. Upon returning, she then stated she couldn't do anything further because based on the images, I may need ROOT CANAL (which the office does) and will provide me with another specialist which is $50 additional. She clearly passed the buck to another specialist as she saw me as a difficult patient but I had every right to be frustrated with the culture of this dentist and how she treats patients. I am still in gross pain and I encourage everyone to see another dentist as Dr. Kaploe is an arrogant, awful dentist and needs re-training in bedside manner. It's quite evident that I may need a root canal and I was previously seen for a filling in December, she overlooks patient care and lacks attention to detail or if only to her benefit to pass along a referral. Shame on Dr. Kaploe and look elsewhere for your dental treatments.

Experiencia negativa: I would definitely not recommend Hampden Dental. Their billing is ridiculous. I've spent thousands of dollars on procedures over the last 3 years and now after my family hasn't been seen in several months I am getting texts and emails saying I owe money dating back to 2022. And the bill keeps getting higher. We have spent a good amount of time in their office and paid what they said was due at the time of services rendered, without a mention of any past due bills. I should have left after they tried charging me for xrays that my insurance said I wasn't liable for according to my EOB. Lesson learned, I will not be going back.

Experiencia fantástica: This was my first time here and I was so impressed! All of the staff I spoke with, Ashley, Rubi, and Dr. Hails were friendly, knowledgeable, and personable! I’ve been having an issue with a tooth that is sensitive to cold ever since I had a filling done at another dental office. That dentist couldn’t figure out the issue and said I would need a specialist. I wanted a second opinion and was referred to Dr. Hails. He took the time to listen to what was going on and began to diagnose the problem. My bite was sitting a little too high and may be causing the issue, so he quickly saved it down. He wanted to start with the most logical and least evasive approach, which I really appreciate. Only time will tell if this was the permanent fix, but I am already so glad to have come to this dental practice. I highly recommend this team!

Experiencia positiva: Vanessa was amazing!! She had such a great personality and presence. She made me feel welcome and the most comfortable. I actually enjoyed my appointment which is odd to say about a dental visit… The other hygienist and team such as Ruby, ladies at reception and some other hygienists also bring a great atmosphere to the clinic. Only reason I deduct a point however is due to the fact that the office goes through many different dentists. I’ve been going to this location for several years and have seen 4 already. Not sure if that’s the norm for dental offices but you never really know who you’re going to get and for how long.

Experiencia fantástica: My experience was genuinely made anxiety free and comfortable by the office staff, dental assistants and with Dr Hails. The office is calm, friendly and relaxing. The dental assistants are professional, intelligent and tuned into your needs. Dr. Hails was extremely efficient and intelligent, compassionate and very much tuned into my needs and anxieties. He was thorough throughout the consultation and left me with a great understanding of my treatment plan. Everyone genuinely cares about my health and goals. I respect the professionalism and care they show.

But from the moment I walked in they made me comfortable and treated me with kindness. Never made me feel embarrassed for the state of my teeth. Experiencia fantástica: Great place! Staff was friendly and the Doctor did an amazing job with my crown. He provided me all my options in the beginning and suggested what he thought would be best in my case. My gums are very sensitive and I am usually sore hours after a dental procedure, but not in this case everyone was very gentle and always checked with me to make sure I was not in pain.

Experiencia negativa: i cant begin to explain to you how hard it is to be seen by this group. over the last few years (including pre-pandemic) i have called and made appointments only to show up on the day and be told my appointment wasnt saved. this has happened every single time i've tried to get service from them. the one time i was finally able to be seen the dentist was really rude to me for not getting seen sooner, as if it's my fault that your team can't make my appointment correctly. do not use hampden dental unless you have absolutely no other option.

My hygienist, Vanessa, is always so informative, makes you feel comfortable when you’re anxious, and can crack some good jokes to make you laugh! She is amazing and does amazing work every step of the way. Ruby is always making me laugh too, Dr. hails is very professional, kind, and takes the time to answer all the questions I have. They do all they can to make sure I’m comfortable and not in pain!

Experiencia negativa: I've been seeing this practice for over 2 years now with 3 different dentist/staff. I had a root canal performed in which I was sent to a specialist for the actual procedure, didn't have the temporary cap placed for over a week, the crown for another3 weeks. Then a month later the tooth was infected . After spending almost $1000 & weeks of pain, I ended up having the tooth pulled. Now I am being told I still owe a balance of more than $200. The dentist blamed the specialist, but whose to say whose fault it really was, having been a month between the actual root canal and having the crown placed. I would never recommend this place to anyone!

Experiencia fantástica: Amazing staff and service!!!! I haven't always been the best with my oral hygiene and was extremely nervous to go in there today. Olivia and Dr Hails couldn't have been kinder and non-judgmental. They came up with a plan of action and I couldn't have left their happier. I can't remember the last time I was treated that nicely at an appointment.
