Specifically, Jeanette that was the Dr's assistant during my cavity procedures made it feel easy and was super kind and helpful. Both her and the doctor informed me every second of the way. Experiencia negativa: Avoid this practice! Tried charging me a ridiculous $85 fee to receive a copy of my digital X-rays so I could take my business elsewhere. additionally they took 90 minutes for X-rays and a brief conversation with the doctor.

Experiencia negativa: **Revised review** I want to say that Dr. Samarai has tried really hard to take care of what happened to my tongue. He really cares and does great work and I want to let everyone know that after this, I will still go to Copper Canyon Dentistry. *Original review* Not too happy this time. My crown broke, so I needed to get a new one. My tooth needed to be shaved down to fit a new crown. While drilling, the drill head hot so hot that it burnt my tongue really bad. My mouth was so numb that I couldn’t feel the burning until it was too late. I’ve never had that happen. Dr Samarai didn’t seem to think it was a big deal and said the drill head was going bad and replaced it. But once the numbness wore off, I’ve been miserable. I can’t eat or chew and I’m in a lot of pain. The burn blister is covering half of the bottom of my tongue and my throat and chin hurt too. Then, the dental assistant trainee forgot to put the x-ray bib on me. I stopped her just in time. And reminded her that I need to be protected. And the cherry on top, the cost of a crown has doubled in the last year. When you are sitting in the chair with a broken crown, you are at their mercy. What choice do you have? They basically can charge you anything they want. I’m just not happy with them since Dr. Poitras retired. I didn’t plan on leaving a review, but Reyna texted me 3 times asking to leave a review of my last visit. So here you go.

Experiencia fantástica: I have been going to Dr. Poitras for 15 years and have always found excellent care, He is detailed, shows concern for his patients, and runs a practice which is normally on time. He is conservative in his treatment approach, and takes the time to see each patient, even if you are just in for a cleaning. His staff is professional and have been with him for years so the practice runs like a fine clock Hakam Al-Samarrai DMD has taken over the practice and exhibits an on time practice I have been in for a few cleanings with Heather and this last visit was for a filling and crown. I was brought back directly to the exam room and felt comfortable the assistant was new but did have 13 years of experience. She was a bit unfamiliar with some of the equipment but had a good personality for the job. As this was the first work being done on me by the doctor I will admit to a certain amount of concern but that went away immediately Dr Hakam Al-Samarrai has a gentle touch and took his time to make sure I was fine. The crown is being made using a scan of my mouth vs an impression so this was a great update in standard of care. I’m looking forward to coming back

Experiencia fantástica: Good morning all. This was my sixth visit to Copper Canyon Dentistry. I have been to both locations at least twice. Now I feel comfortable leaving a review. Starting with the staff, as you walk in the receptionist was smiling and warm. The others were warm and welcoming. The atmosphere was easy going and low key. The hygienist was very good, as she was warm and friendly. Laura really knew her craft. She was thorough, and did not miss with an instrument, as many others slip and poke. She was very professional. After my teeth were cleaned they felt very clean and my gums were not sore. Dr. Al-Samarrai is the best. He explains everything he is doing and what He is going to do. Any questions you have, He answers. Dr. Al-Samarrai has all the newest technology available. I was amazed of all the new equipment that is available. I have fillings over 50 years old still intact. He was surprised to see this. My next visit Dr. Al-Samarrai is going to fix a chipped tooth and install a filling with laser equipment. I didn't know this existed. And for extra credit, they put up with my corny comedy stylings. Also, i received ample and much needed reminders/confirmations about my appointments, complete with directions.

Experiencia positiva: Following a clarifying call with the dentist-owner, an apology was extended regarding the incident, attributed to a "misunderstanding" by the staff. While I acknowledge that errors can occur, the actions in question appeared intentional to me. Regardless, I will not be returning to this practice, but I consider the matter resolved after the owner's communication. A Troubling Billing Experience While the dental staff, including the dentist and assistant, provided outstanding clinical care, my experience with the administrative team, specifically the front desk representative, was profoundly negative and concerning. I was presented with a bill that was more than double the estimated treatment plan I had been provided earlier. Fortunately, I had taken a photograph of the original plan, which clearly showed an attempt to charge me for a procedure that was not performed. This constitutes a serious issue, bordering on fraudulent billing practices. Furthermore, I was informed that I would need to pay an exorbitant amount for a routine cleaning and a single filling, with the explanation that my insurance company would mail a check directly to me. Given the previous attempt to overcharge, I found this claim highly suspect and lacked confidence in its veracity. When I challenged this, the front desk representative became agitated, insisting she had explained the billing procedures during my initial visit, which she had not. Her only comment at that time was that my insurance was "good for them." In summary, prospective patients should exercise extreme caution regarding billing practices at this office. It appears there may be attempts to inflate charges and misrepresent insurance reimbursement processes. I strongly advise all patients to verify their treatment plans and costs meticulously before making any payments and to always obtain written documentation. I will be including photographic evidence of the disparate treatment plans to support my claims.

Dr Samarrai know what he is doing! Had 3 fillings done, two of which were deep and I was so sure we would end up with root canal, but I was wrong. He took care of them and time shows now, it was done very well! Laser drilling was something I had never done before. No numbing after procedure was a good surprise! It’s absolutely worth it!

I told her my teeth are sensitive and she made sure I’m comfortable by using warm water for the rinse. I’m really impressed. And then, Dr. Al-Samarrai asked me about my concerns and explained me what they can do and then, Brenda, told me their program and membership plans. They know how intimidated and fearful I am about going to the Dentist, so they go out of their way to help me overcome my anxiety. I ended up needing to replace my entire lower mouth implants. I am 7 months pregnant so he wasn’t able to do all of the X-rays and such as they normally would but he was able to relieve the pain I was having, and reduced the swelling. He even followed up with me later that night to see if it was helping any. Definitely recommend and I think I just found my new dentist.
