Experiencia negativa: Abandoned care in the middle of treatment. Their claim is "underlying medical issues ",which may be true but was fully disclosed at my initial appointment. They refuse to even fit a temporary crown to the recent root canal. Their only referral is to the main trunk line of ucla dental school, obviously useless. Or a sedation dentist which their web says THEY DO!! avoid at all costs Their response is completely false. I did not reject treatment of any sort. The only thing I said was that I would rather avoid old school bite wing x-rays if possible. Receptionist said they don't even use those anymore. First tried to cancel me because I rejected x-rays FALSE, I never said or implied that. Cleaning was never even offered. Meanwhile I still have a naked stub of a tooth post root canal that won't last long. PS they did examine me and took an x-ray, endo took one too. Endo treatment was unremarkable.

Experiencia negativa: Although the staff is friendly, this business unfortunately exercises predatory practices with their patients with collecting payment and insurance. When asked why, they state “it’s just office policy”. Saddened by this because they’re so close to my house and would be a convenient place to go.

Experiencia fantástica: I've had my front teeth capped after an accident 20 yrs ago at your office. No one ever believes me when I reveal the front 6 are caps! This is a good dentist office. I've seen all the dentists here and I trust them all. Only reason u left is because they became out of network for my hubby dental ins. plan

Experiencia negativa: They charged me $10,000 to do a root canal and crown yet didn’t even do a proper job on them. My tooth is still sensitive to this day and they couldn’t fix it. I have included a photo of the $10,000 invoice. It is NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE to reach the office and they don’t return your voicemails or emails. It was beyond belief. Off site call center? No problem. Anyone in the office? Forget about it… and forget them ever responding to your messages. Their communication is atrocious. They unnecessarily exhausted all of my 2024 insurance so I had to pay completely out of pocket for follow ups and second opinions to see why my tooth was still hurting from their botched root canal. I deeply regret coming here. Do not make the same mistake.

Experiencia negativa: Honest review: I decided to try this practice due to all the positive reviews but I really wish I never did. The day I had the initial consult I was brought back for X-rays and the dental hygienist Hannah looked at my mouth first and suggested that I needed deep cleaning only on one side of the mouth she stated the rest would be fine with regular cleaning. Then the "Dr Ryan" (bald dr) came in and said that I needed deep cleaning on both sides top and bottom which I thought was weird because the hygienist had recommended one part only. So I book for what the "Dr" recommended to get done because he said that's what I needed. On the day of the deep cleaning a different hygienist did my procedure her name was Erin, she suggested I also get their special "laser" she said it would not be covered by insurance so I declined. Then she kept pushing and making me feel bad that I was declining so I decided to do it after her constant uncomfortable persuasions. The second time I went back for part 2 I declined the laser again because I didn't want to pay extra and again she made me feel bad but this time I actually stood my ground and declined. A month later after my procedure , I get a bill of almost $1000 dollars, I was shocked. I called the practice and Sierra basically said everything is an estimation you're responsible if your insurance doesn't cover it and they didn't so now that's your responsibility. She said deal with your insurance. So then, I called my insurance and they said we did not cover the procedure of the deep cleaning because it was reviewed by their dental experts and they deemed as an "unnecessary procedure". I called Sierra back and let her know of the information I had received and asked why the dr would recommend something that was unnecessary and she basically said "it is still your responsibility". So this whole time the hygienist Hannnah was correct. I really did not need all that deep cleaning but the greedy dr told me I did. Now I am left with a huge bill and on top of all this my EOB says I may owe $772 and they are charging me $996 even after I already gave payments each time I went in as shown on my statements. Please be aware, the only person I would trust there would be Hannah honestly. The drs are greedy. Ps . They are claiming I asked them to commit insurance fraud when really I just asked if the correct CPT codes were billed properly.

Dr. Cho and Dr. Allen made my more “complicated” appointments a breeze with little recovery time. Valerie was my assistant and she was very professional, friendly and gentle. Rachael scheduled my appointments and made finding time to come in quick and easy. 5 stars for this office as ALL the staff is all amazing.

Experiencia negativa: My problem with this dentist is the nickel and dime charges you will later find weeks after your visit. Provided my insurance and was advised there would be no charges. Weeks later, I was sent a bill for ridiculous reasons such as “recommended cleaning techniques”. Take your business elsewhere.

Mary and Sierra at the front office greeted me with a warm welcome and as I got called to the back, Lisa was very thorough and friendly as she took pictures of my mouth. Experiencia negativa: I have been going to them for over three years with the same insurance, I had my regular cleaning in August and get hit with a bill and they now say I am not covered by insurance. WHY would you not inform me before or even during my visit? When I went to check out they just happily schedule my next appointment but don’t mention my insurance is now not covered? This is absolute BS and horrible business practice. Of course now no one will return calls and I just get shoved off to billing. DONT USE THEM

Experiencia negativa: THEY WILL OVERBILL YOU AND YOUR INSURANCE, THEN THREATEN COLLECTIONS, AND WON’T EMAIL YOU BACK. As many others have said, their billing department is awful. I went ONCE about 3 years ago now for a cleaning that turned into fillings, but they "switched to a new system" that billed me for $500 even though I have great dual dental coverage, years after the fact. So unprofessional to let their lack of ability in the accounting fall onto the patient's inconvenience and wallet, as their late notices make dealing with insurance worse than it already is. To make it worse, I can repetitively call and email them with no response, yet still get mail that threatened to be sent to collections for a bill I never should have received. Would not recommend coming here, though the dentistry is great, it is not worth what comes after.

Experiencia fantástica: I brought my father to SC Advanced Dentistry who is 94 years old and a Veteran. His lower partial was broken and he needed some help and guidance on how best to move forward. The staff and office were so accommodating and kind. They were so professional and went above and beyond to assist with my father and his needs. Dr. Kelly Smudde was amazing and very informative and understanding of my fathers position and who is on a fixed budget. Everyone from Carol, Mardi and Theresa were amazing and can't thank them enough for making my father so comfortable and respected. Thank you again SC Advanced Dentistry for everything. Experiencia negativa: I wish to make a complaint about the way my billing was handled . I was told by Sierra that my dentist appt 6 months ago was denied because I wasn’t covered. She said they submit claims based on SS# however when I called my dental insurance I was told they do not process by SS# but by the member ID and group number. I had asked Sierra if the card I provided her matched what they billed under 6 months ago and she told me it didn’t matter. Well after I had spent my time on the phone with insurance twice & calling Sierra back she said it didn’t matter that I had a reference number to give her- She was now on the phone with my insurance. I am in customer service and I would have thought she would have apologized and offered to call my insurance instead of telling me I had to . This is not how patients should be treated especially ones that have been going to this dentist for the past 15.+ years!

Experiencia negativa: I just received a bill for services received TWO YEARS ago! They stated they moved to a different computer software and are slowly moving balance discrepancies over from that long ago. I can understand if it was thousands of dollars, but it was for a fluoride treatment. Totally unprofessional to bill 2 years later for accounting mistakes made on their end. This is not the first billing issue we have had with them. Their service is great, but beware of their billing and know your coverage. We tell them each time we are there that we pay 10% of the charges with our insurance, but they make us pay 50% because "their computer software states that amount". Then once they get the insurance payment, they keep the over payment and refuse to let us know. We only are made aware the next time we go in in 6 months and at that time they do not issue a refund, only will apply it to future charges. Be very cautious about this place. I have been going there for over 25 years and in the past 8 years every visit has been sketchy with the billing and seems like its going down hill. The owners (Drs Smudde) are rarely there anymore or maybe they have sold to someone else like private equity.

Santa Clarita Advanced Dentistry has always been so kind to me and worked hard to address my fear and trembling! This past visit, Dr. Ryan and Victoria were just an amazing team, doing everything possible to keep me comfortable and move through the procedures as quickly and compassionately as they could. Experiencia negativa: I called and asked if they accepted my insurance the man said yes. He forced me to take a very early appointment for some reason and I was scared by his tone and accepted the appointment. I got to the place early the next day and the xray tech was very rude with me and hurt my tongue and mouth with his tools he harshly shoved them in my mouth and didn't seem to care when I asked them to let me move my tongue so he didn't need to cram the tool against it causing me pain. The worst part is they didn't take my insurance and tried selling me overly priced plans I said I couldn't afford. They completely wasted my time from start to finish and harmed me in the process.

To pull out a tooth, The technician asked me what I was there for. I said what do you mean? I have an appointment to get a tooth extract, is it not on the chart?she told me that it said general check up. She kept asking me questions, I said you tell me what my appointment is for it should said in the chart, she came back telling me that she was looking at the wrong chart. Omg!!!!! Now that made me very nervous and very uncomfortable thinking that they could easily do a big mistake and pull the wrong tooth. After all I waited and waited because I have been seeing the dentist twice already for this problem. My appointment was at 8am I waited until 8:55 am. And nobody came to help me. I was nervous and uncomfortable So I got up and left. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS DENTAL OFFICE. they have a lot to improve and wr are paying top dollars.

And what definitely made a turning point for me today during my 1 1/2 hour long treatment, was that I could watch the Friends show meanwhile!!

Experiencia negativa: The first time there last year was a good experience but recently I tried to cancel an appointment and it was and still is a hassle to do so! I called a week before the appointment to cancel and the lady on the phone kept telling me how she was new and was trying to figure out how to cancel it. I was on hold for over 25 minutes as the lady continued to service clients in person and she kept apologizing. I told her to just call me back once the appointment has been canceled as I can not continue to wait on the phone. I did not receive a phone call back so I emailed the office advising of my cancellation. This was a month ago and now I am receiving in the mail an EOB showing that the office billed my insurance for a missed appointment that I cancelled! Please train your front office, this was very frustrating and unprofessional.

I also want to say that Mary, is so upfront and knowledgeable about procedures and my insurance I appreciated her being so on top of everything for me. They teach as they go. Everyone here is so very nice. The office is run incredibly efficiently, and Dr Kelly is world class. State of the art “everything”. I highly recommend!!

The doctor explained things to me beyond brushing and flossing. They were VERY thorough in their evaluation. The cleaning was not painful. I'm happy and relieved I made the switch.

I had surgery there to remove an old icky tooth and I can tell you from the time I walked in the door, to the time I left that everyone was so wonderful!! Brittany and her staff are just phenomenal! They provide a very friendly and relaxing beginning, to the hygienist, to the dentist and to the surgeon. I had a difficult case and and the surgeon was very patient with me his assistant kept reassuring me. I can tell you that I’m so happy I went there I will do all of my future cleanings there without being scared anymore! I highly highly recommend this office.

Experiencia fantástica: This is a professional office in every sense of the word. I’m a new patient, and upon arrival I was given a tour of the office and a history of the practice. I’ve never received a better briefing than the one Lisa gave to me. Their equipment is high tech and very impressive, and I was given a thorough explanation of every procedure they were doing. Dr. Smudge was very personable and helped me understand what procedures I needed. I was also shown a breakdown of what each procedure cost, so I know what to expect to pay when the time comes. Their scheduling as was very flexible. I highly recommend this practice!

Experiencia fantástica: My only stop for dental care for 5 years now and extremely satisfied. We moved away but still make 20mile drive! Best experience and care one could ask for. Getting an appointment is always tricky (due to demand) but I recommend scheduling early. Dental cleaning is just superb - I’ve had different hygienist but quality and care stays consistent. Out of pocket costs for more involved care can be higher than average but you get the best quality, service and pleasant painless experience. Thanks

Experiencia fantástica: As always, I was given stellar service at Santa Clarita Advanced Dentistry. I called to get a semi emergency with appointment. They got me in right away and Dr. Cho took care of the issue quickly and with a full explanation. Dr. Cho always takes the time to explain things fully. He also does excellent dental work! He has done two crowns for me. I never had any pain during the procedure and they came out beautifully. I can’t say enough good things about the doctors and the entire staff at this office. Thank you!
