Fantastic experience: My dentist for over 35 years suddenly retired and I needed a new one, quick. I chose Denise Family Dental and have been thrilled with the service. We've been going there for a couple years. The hygienist was so good and comfortable that I told my wife to see her, specifically. She was equally thrilled. The dentists have been courteous and competent and, on the two occasions I needed quick service, saw me right away. The front desk staff has been friendly and helpful every time. I'm still "new", but I just don't see the problems others have mentioned. Perhaps I'm just inclined to treat people well who treat me well, and this office does. I recommend without reservation.

Negative experience: In my personal experience, this has been one of the worst dental visits I have ever had. I felt that the dentist showed a lack of compassion and professionalism during my treatment. The way I was spoken to and treated made me feel disrespected and uncomfortable. The dental work I received was, in my opinion, extremely poor in quality, and I was very dissatisfied with the outcome. I left feeling that my concerns were ignored and that my appearance was negatively affected by the work that was done. Throughout my appointment, I felt that the dentist displayed a lack of compassion and professionalism. The communication and manner in which I was treated made me feel disrespected, dismissed, and extremely uncomfortable. The quality of the dental work performed was, in my opinion, unacceptable. The results left me feeling embarrassed about my appearance and deeply dissatisfied with the care I received. Because of my experience, I am filing a formal complaint with the Dental Board so that this matter can be reviewed and addressed appropriately.

Negative experience: The dentist is amazing but the front desk staff have terrible communication skills. I was given the wrong time multiple times. Multiple phone calls multiple back and forth over my insurance and if they accept it or not...just to be met with an attitude the day of my appointment and to be told I have to pay a fee for missing an appointment. Totally unacceptable. Bad experience do better

The hygienist, Tonya, was very kind, and listened when I gave my history. She took care to make sure that I was comfortable with everything she did. She was also very friendly, as were the receptionists. Dr. Denise is kind, as well. He is also receptive to hearing about my concerns. I feel very comfortable coming to this office. The staff genuinely seem to enjoy working together.

Negative experience: The front office manager needs to have some compassion and understanding towards patients. I was called last Friday and asked if I could move my scheduled appointment from 1:00. -1:15pm on Monday. Thinking it was no big deal I agreed to the change but forgot I had an important meeting at 2:00pm. I called the office on Monday at noon because that it when they opened. I explained the situation and instead of understanding that a mistake was made I was told I would be charged $69 for a no-show. I’ve seen Dr.Denise for 20 years and was never treated this way. So I told the manager that to avoid the charge, I would come in at 1:15pm and the hygienist would have 30 minutes to clean my teeth. The hygienist thought this was ridiculous and I should have been able to reschedule the appointment. Under pressure the hygienist cleaned my teeth within 30 minutes but it was rushed and I could not get the examination from Dr. Denise. Not her fought, it made the appointment very awkward.

Negative experience: My experience wasn’t as great as it usually is, I was scheduled April 21 and when I arrived my appointment was no longer in the system. Weird because I received a text reminder on March 22nd about my appointment. The staff was pleasant and they did fit me in but I had to wait over an hour for a 2:15 slot when I was there @ 12:45. I was very upset for the long wait because I didn’t plan to spend half my afternoon when I was scheduled 6 months prior to that date and time. Like I said before I usually have a great experience but this was very upsetting. Hopefully I won’t have this problem on my next appointment.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Richard Denise has been my dentist since I was 3 years old, so this review is informed by a 30+ year history. I now live about 50 minutes away but continue to see Dr. Denise for dental care because of the personalized, friendly, and knowledgeable treatment I receive every time I go. His staff is also wonderful - the fact that I had the same hygienist for 33 years until she retired really speaks to the positive environment of Dr. Denise's practice. Based on my own history, I can genuinely say that this is a great dentist to go to for both children and adults. As a kid, I needed plenty of fillings and extractions due to cavities and dental crowding. Dr. Denise took great care of me then, and he continues to provide great care to me as an adult. I have a fairly low pain tolerance when it comes to dental work, so he has always made sure to use all the tools at his disposal to ensure I did not experience pain during any procedures. He also ensures that all dental procedures are done to the highest standards and will not settle for less. When I had one of my front teeth replaced with a crown, he was persistent in ensuring that the crown matched my other teeth perfectly. Even though I was tired of dealing with that particular tooth (it had been a months-long process getting the crown approved), he refused to accept when the first crown was too different, insisting that I would not be happy with having my front tooth be starkly contrasted against my other teeth (and he was right). I am of course now very glad he insisted on getting it right. I have also been treated by Dr. Jason Denise many times since he joined the practice. One of my favorite qualities of Dr. Jason is how he listens and advocates. Several years ago, I needed a crown for one of my front teeth because it had chipped in half. My insurance denied the prior authorization and my appeals due to them having old X-rays on file that did not show how badly my tooth was damaged. Dr. Jason took the time to sit with me and my hygienist to draft a thorough explanation of why my tooth was never going to be repairable and a crown was necessary. I was immensely frustrated with my insurance provider by that point, and Dr. Jason listening to me and advocating for me to my insurance made me feel so much better. It also led to my insurance approving the crown that I desperately needed. These are just a few examples but I have many more. I will keep going to this practice as long as I possibly can regardless of the distance because it is worth the drive. It means a lot to me to have a healthcare provider who knows my history well, provides good care every time, and values me as a patient.
