Fantastic experience: I've been going to this excellent practice for probably 20 years now. Our entire family are patients. Yesterday I woke up with soreness in my jaw/teeth and called the office. They scheduled me right away for a 9am visit which was very reassuring. That's why I keep returning .

Fantastic experience: Dr. Gavros is great. She has demonstrated extraordinary skills and dedication to my wife and I through regular appointments and in hospital emergencies when dental consultation was needed. She was available, by phone, outside of business hours and managed to get the right specialist to the ER when needed. Then, her coordination with the specialist afterwards and her follow-up were excellent. She seems to work with the very best endodontists, periodontists, prosthodontists, oral surgeons and other specialists. They all have great respect for Dr. Gavros. And, to top it off, she is a very pleasant person. She treats my 12-year-old God daughter (who needed braces as well as regular dental care) and does an excellent job with her. Here supporting staff is very high quality. I think Pam is a very good hygienist. I know this might sound like hype, but it is not. I admit, for example, that she does not walk on water.

Fantastic experience: My dental hygienist Pamela was absolutely wonderful and a wealth of information! What an awesome bedside manner, professional courteous, interested, very helpful. I appreciated that the doctor did not try to upsell me on something that I can wait on for another year. The receptionist too was patient answering my questions! I also like how they ask you if you have a preference for your next cleaning in terms of dental hygienists. They definitely go above and beyond with customer service, which is rare these days! Fantastic experience: If you are looking for the best office in Marin County look no further. I’ve been to so many dentists and now that I’m back in the Bay Area I went to Dr Gavros’s team because my parents have been coming here for years. It’s out of network so if you are using insurance the office will check for you but be aware that insurance when it comes to dental is a mess. What you will find here is a compassionate warm office with women who genuinely care. I’ve never had such detailed and supportive care when it comes to dental. Dr. Gavros will do his bridge work She answered all his concerns with a bridge vs, implant. He was very happy with explanation and has started the treatment.

Fantastic experience: It is always a pleasure having a cleaning by Pam! She is very knowledgeable, professional and fun … watch out for her jokes !! Dr. Amanda Major and her assistant were great at replacing a cracked filling. The novocaine was minimal ( done by Pam ) and was gone in a little over an hour . I was surprised at how quickly it was done but I really appreciated Dr. Major telling me what she was doing and what to expect each step of the way . This is a wonderful dental practice and staff.

Negative experience: The dental hygienist coerced me into x rays which were not needed. The cost was $180 which vastly exceeds the average fee for this service. Then, no one read the x ray and informed me of the results without me insisting on this. The junior dentist sent 20 seconds with me.

Fantastic experience: My experience was most positive. Dr. Gavros is very personable, professional and thorough. I feel very confident about her examination and the suggested course of action. The office environment is very positive.

Negative experience: This office is a mess and not a pleasant customer/patient experience. This is right by my house and was excited to give them a try. When I scheduled my appointment I shared my insurance with them and they made no mention that they do not take insurance and there would be an out of pocket charge. After my routine cleaning appointment I was charged $150, told they don’t accept insurance and there. Old be additional charges. This was a surprise as the 20+ years I have been getting my teeth cleaned I have never paid an out of pocket fee. I then received a bill from my insurance saying I owe an additional $26 and just called to understand why I owe additional money. I spoke with 2 women who shared very different things. One shared they don’t take my specific insurance and the other shared they don’t take insurance at all and that I actually have a credit on my account and don’t owe anything. I don’t understand these business practices and feel like they are being shady with their charges and explanations of services and payment. I will take my teeth and business elsewhere

Fantastic experience: Best dentist office I've been to in quite a while. Everyone is friendly and very skilled. Hygienist Lauren and Dr Victoria Saykally saw me on my last visit and did a great job; desk staff is efficient. I refused the xrays because the very large contraption does not fit comfortably in my mouth - but got a message from Dr Gavros the next day suggesting I come back and they could use another method, less invasive. Great personal attention and care!

Fantastic experience: I’m a retired surgeon. I have had complicated dental problems. I have had good and not so good dentist. I’ve bee going to Dr. Gavros for about 10 years. I noticed right away that she has the hands as skilled as a heart surgeon. She is really, really skillful. And just as important, she is a very nice, compassionate, collegial doctor. It’s obvious that she cares, she’s not just going through the motions.

Fantastic experience: I have moved a lot in my life and as a result have had many different dentists. Dr. Gavros's office is hands down my favorite. I can sometimes be a tough client to satisfy because especially when is comes to dentistry, I am always looking for excellent and not just-good-enough work. I've had a crown re-cement, a crown replacement (there really is such thing as a gorgeous crown) and a cleaning to date, and every time the staff has been welcoming, professional, thorough, knowledgeable and very sensitive to a minor health issue I have that sometimes makes going to the dentist a tad nervous-making. Like most, I have never particularly enjoyed going to the dentist, but Dr. Gavros and her staff offer such a high level of customer service I actually enjoy going to see them. My mother also had her teeth cleaned this week and reported having had an excellent experience. I was sorry to see the poster before mine had a bad experience, and I wasn't there so can't comment on her experience except to say, in the face of all the other 5 star reviews, it is clearly an anomaly against the backdrop of an almost flawless record. If you are looking for a dentist, I hope you will give Dr. Gavros and her staff a try. I feel confident you will not be disappointed.
