Fantastic experience: I just had my teeth cleaned today with Gita, who is part of Dr. McKay's team, and who is also my dentist. Gita is not only a great hygienist, who has given me great tips about oral hygiene, I see her as a friend as well. I have my teeth cleaned three times a year, and it is always a pleasure to see Gita. She always makes time for me and asks not only about the health of my teeth and gums, making sure there are no new concerns or problems, but adds personal friendly caring as well. It is a pleasure to see her always!

Dr. McKay is fantastic -- knowledgeable, kind, and patient. Gita, the hygienist I always see, is so warm and caring that it feels like going to see a friend. And she always takes the time to answer my questions and give me tips that have helped lead me to better dental health. I can't recommend this office highly enough!

Fantastic experience: My family and I have been going to the Toluca Lake Dentistry for over 15 years, and the quality of service and customer care is par none. Our dental hygienist, Cynthia, is highly knowledgeable and caring. Great service!!!!

Positive experience: “We accept all PPO Dental insurance but are in network for zero PPO Dental insurance companies” — this is an important consideration as the patient will pay a percentage out of pocket for every visit, including preventative work and x-rays but especially for corrective dental work.

Negative experience: They were not forthright about insurance coverage. They took my insurance info and said my cleaning would be covered but any other services would likely not be. Turns out my insurance only paid a small portion of the cleaning and now I'm stuck with a large bill.

Fantastic experience: Gita my hygenist is fabulous! The office is clean, efficient and friendly. Dr McKay has been great for me as well. I’ve never had any reason not to recommend this practice. Well, it’s been two years since my last review and all I can say is if you’re looking for a new dental practice this would be the place to head. Dr McKay and his entire staff have proven to be nothing but professional and meticulous. I feel fortunate to have this dental office as close to my residence as it is!

She is very thorough, professional, listens attentively to my concerns and always provides the best care. The entire team at the dental office shows a high level of professionalism and makes me feel comfortable throughout my visit. I highly recommend this place.

Fantastic experience: I completely cracked an old molar on Sunday night, so first thing Monday morning, Dr McKay squeezed me in for an emergency extraction and bone insertion for an eventual implant. He did a great job, and, considering the trauma, I was very happy with how well I was taken care of. Thanks! Just updating here on 11/04/23: Dr McKay is terrific - if you are looking for a dentist you will be happy with him and his staff.

Fantastic experience: Toluca lake dentists is the best dental office I have ever been to, very comfortable environment on there 3rd floor office. The lobby when you walk in has like 7 receptionist ready to help you & the best dentists you could ask for. It has almost 30 rooms there. And a couple dozen doctors dentist and nurses helping everybody with there appointments. I love Taluca lake dentists so much.

Fantastic experience: I used to dread going to the dentist but NO LONGER! Super friendly staff, great parking, excellent service, soothing atmosphere, very clean and very gentle (important!) doctors and assistants. I hadn't been in 5 years so I was expecting the worst in pain and money. Dr. McKay's reaction was "oh it's been 5 years, was it too painful, or...?" Funny enough, he had given me a root canal and I barely felt anything and was shocked when he said "all done!" People always complained to me about the excruciating pain they encounter when getting a root canal so I braced myself for unbearable pain. The pain never came. Easily the most skilled and most gentle dentist I've ever encountered. Aside from the spicy Foxy Roxy giving me some fun jabs for being away so long it was an absolute pleasure of a visit. Today I had a bridge along with other unmentionables and again, super gentle staff and Dr. McKay was super pleasant as always. Quick, efficient, painless. Actually looking forward to my cleaning in 4 months. See ya soon, Gita! ^_^

Fantastic experience: I was avoiding going to my hygienist for over a year due to the pandemic. Gita made me feel welcome and was very gentle and attentive during my cleaning. She paused several times to ask how I was doing and gave me a warm towel to wipe my face at the end. An added touch were tiny twinkle lights Gita had installed in her ceiling. They change colors and are a nice distraction. I have been coming to this dental office for about 20 years and in addition to their dentistry skills, I feel they are kind and caring. I highly Recommend this dental practice.

Gita is an amazing hygienist, very kind and caring Normally I see Dr McKay for my dentist but today I saw Dr Li and she was great! I had never seen her before and since I'm a little Dental phobic I was nervous. She immediately put me at ease and took care of my small problem promptly. I would highly recommend anyone in this practice!

Dr. McKay took care of an emergency that my other dentist was not taking seriously enough and I felt like I had been saved when I landed in McKay's office. They are very responsive to emergencies and will go the extra mile to get you properly cared for and out of pain asap. When it comes to cleaning: I've been going to Gita for the same amount of time and I totally relax in her chair. She is the best there is, barre none. World class and super gentle.

Positive experience: Little overwhelming for me such a large office and so much going on at once with people and offices everywhere. Referred from a long-time friend and her family. Didn’t care to much of Christine the hygienist who did my cleaning. She rushed me out her chair. Didn’t take her time. It wasn’t a thorough cleaning. Not what what I expected. They couldn’t locate my insurance policy although I provided my cards. Who knows what kind of bill I will receive let’s just hope they located my policy and some cost is covered. Roxanne was genuine along with Dr. McKay. Not a good or bad review just would like a new hygienist next appointment.

Fantastic experience: I have been going to this office for over 30 years. Always “A+” service.

Negative experience: A few years ago, I came in for tooth pain and they told me I broke a tooth. My tooth was perfectly healthy otherwise. They botched my root canal and put in a outdated crown. (I later learned most dentists use/prefer porcelain crowns. I also later learned that you should only get a root canal from a root canal specialist and was blindly given a root canal by the dentists here-- yes, it took multiple dentists in multiple appointments to work on the same tooth.) I was left with a recurring infection for years. I finally got my root canal redone at Mass General in Boston and they are struggling to save the tooth. Would not recommend this dentist and hope this helps someone else.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Vickie Lai is great. I received a recommendation to Toluca Lake Dentistry via a friend of mine. Dr. McKay is his dentist and has a straight across the board great rep. There wasn't much if any info at all, e.g. reviews, about Dr. Lai online, but it happened that I was able to get an appointment sooner with her than with Dr. McKay. She was efficient in communication yet thorough in function. High caliber with respect to competence. The in-person staff there was nice/professional and efficient. It's a nice office. I felt the price of what I had done was very fair. Highly recommended.
