Fantastic experience: Awesome awesome place! Super professional and thorough. Prices for a Hawley retainer are very reasonable and the doctor did a fabulous job removing a small glue bond I had on my tooth! I am really nervous and skeptical about dentistry due the fact that I have really sensitive teeth, but they all made it really easy and comfortable. Highly recommend!

Negative experience: i’m really disappointed in my experience here. the general lack of care, lack of communication, and accommodation for moving far away. I’ve had absolutely no follow up after my appointments, which always felt rushed. would drive over an hour sometimes to have the doctor spend 8 minutes looking at your teeth and feeling like there’s something better they could be doing. i also feel like my teeth aren’t up to my standards because of my wisdoms teeth which is something they should have told me to do first. this was my first “big girl purchase” just for myself and i wish i went somewhere else :(

Fantastic experience: I had a large gap between my teeth, and I chose this clinic because of the great reviews on social media. I was prescribed a treatment that took a little over a year. Today, I finished my last set of Invisalign trays, got my retainers, and I’m so happy! The results are amazing — my face looks slimmer thanks to the jaw alignment, and the always friendly staff and how well they understood me as a patient left a great impression of the clinic. Fantastic experience: After evaluating many orthodontists for Invisalign in the Sherman Oaks/ Studio City area, I found a gem with Dr. Kathy and her team. From the moment I walked in, I felt understood with the TMJ issues (headaches, neck pains, etc) that I was experiencing. I realized I wasn't just a regular Invisalign patient, but a much more complex one. For this reason, I needed to find an expert that knew how to fix me. So glad I went with Dr. Kathy--I can confidently say that after ~9 months of treatment, I'm now headache-free + small imperfections with my teeth all fixed up. I'd highly suggest everyone visit this office in Studio City (even if it's a bit further out for you!) because their standard of care is top top notch. Fantastic experience: I had a great experience with their Invisalign services. Something I really loved about the process was how the scans were taken. I never had to experience that dreaded process of taking molds. It's just a machine that scans your teeth which I thought was very convenient. Also, as a working student, scheduling is always pretty tight for me and finding free time is hard but they're very flexible and helpful with moving around appointments in case things fall through. All of the doctors and assistants are also very lovely people. If you're considering invisalign I definitely recommend their services!

Fantastic experience: I am on month 15 of treatment and my experience has been very positive. I started to see results very shortly into my treatment. Now 15 months in my teeth are unrecognizable. From the very beginning consultation I felt that I could trust Dr Kathy and her team, compared to other consultations I had scheduled in other locations. She is very knowledgeable and has addressed all of the problem areas that she pointed out in the consultation. Jessica at the front desk has been wonderful in answering my questions and accommodating my schedule. I do wish I would have had more opportunities to meet with Dr Kathy. Most appointments I met with her technician and Dr Kathy would check in here and there. However the technician has done an amazing job with answering all my questions. I also was not told that teeth shaving would be part of my treatment in order to make proper spacing. That did freak me out a bit in the beginning but it has allowed my teeth to move properly. Overall, my experience has been top notch. There is virtually no wait when I arrive to my appointments and I am made to feel comfortable. Negative experience: I would give zero stars to this office if I can. Before going to this office read all the negative reviews. You can see a common thread to this of not getting insurance reimbursements or the dentist going MIA after a contract is signed. Even after you read this and you still decide to go A) Make sure a dentist and not a technician is drilling into your teeth. This includes shaving your teeth down. Only a licensed dentist is allowed to drill into your teeth. B) Get everything in writing (including if your insurance is covered) on when you would be reimbursed for your insurance payment. Get dates C) review everything in your insurance plan to make sure nothing else was billed. E) if something is not right, contact the dental board and your insurance to file a written documented complaint. F) don't sign anything that releases them from their obligations to get reimbursement. You can take them to court to collect this if you document everything in writing. You can do this by communicating via email vs phone calls so you have everything in writing. They can be nice and trusting until a contract is signed so make sure you are protected. If you are a patient of this office where someone else besides a dentist drilled into your teeth, pls report them to the dental board.

Fantastic experience: Great experience at this office. Appointments are handled efficiently and the team helps me understand where my teeth move. In addition, the office was able to accommodate some special requests for treatment -- I was okay with a longer treatment time if it meant more gradual movements / no rubber bands / etc., and this has all been provided.

Fantastic experience: I initially went to Studio City Orthodontics because I wanted to strengthen my teeth. They provided care for all aspects of my dental care including periodontal treatment because I needed ongoing dental care due to previous neglect of mine. Dental surgeries, implants and Invisalign. I continue to have ongoing dental cleanings every 3 months and I am very satisfied with the services provided. They have financing options with Care credit of needed.

Fantastic experience: I came to Dr. Shafagh to get a previously completed Invisalign treatment with a Dentist corrected, as I wasn't happy with the results. She was able to not only correct the issues created by the Dentist, but also corrected an issue with my bite/smile that could have caused some serious problems in the next 10-15 years. The process itself was seamless. The retainer phase once treatment was completed was a bit of a struggle, as my teeth weren't wanting to hold in the retainers, but Dr. Shafagh figured out a solution (ordering my retainers based off of my final aligner tray rather than a new scan) and it fixed the issue. I can't recommend her enough.

Fantastic experience: Today I completed my Invisalign treatment and I cannot be happier. I am in my late 60's and struggled with crooked teeth my whole life. I had consulted many dentists and orthodontists prior to coming to Dr. Shafagh and was told I was not a candidate for Invisalign. A friend recommended me to Dr. Shafagh and at my initial consultation she assured me I would have no trouble with the program. I found her price to be fair and I immediately signed up. In addition, the front office staff Jessica and medical assistant Oscar were always patient and available to answer all of my questions and to put me at ease. My smile looks amazing and I have gained so much confidence. The only thing I wish is that I had done it sooner!

Fantastic experience: I had a pretty bad cross bite that was very uncomfortable. I saw a bunch of orthodontists and all of them said I needed jaw surgery. Fast forward to coming to Studio City Orthodontist and being told I could use Invisalign to fix the issue! The overall process was really smooth and way better than braces. Popping in and out aligners allowed me to still have freedom in eating, etc. By the end my bite is fixed and I no longer have a ton of uncomfort in my jaw. It also helped manage my TMJ a bit (didn't fix it entirely, but I think that's not possible with my case without surgery). Thank you to the whole staff!

Fantastic experience: Dr. Shafagh her staff are absolutely wonderful! The treatment has been so smooth and clearly outlined, and I couldn't be happier with my experience so far. What makes this office the best is the kindness of Dr. Shafagh. I have very severe anxiety about any sort of dental/ortho work (I can hardly get a regular cleaning without a panic attack). Dr. Shafagh and all of her staff have been so understanding, patient and reassuring even when I'm having severe anxiety or need extra time for them to show me the tools they are using and explain what they do. I am currently about half way through my projected treatment and it has been such a smooth and simple process and I could not be happier with the changes to my smile so far. Fantastic experience: I started my invisalign process during the pandemic and have nothing but wondeful things to say about the staff and the facility! I'm extremely happy with the results and they team clearly went above and beyond with my case. I honestly thought I was done halfway in but Dr. Kathy wanted to fix a few things and I'm so grateful that she did. My bite has never been better and I never thought there would be a day I would enjoy flossing my teeth :) Tx Process: Consultation was brief, honest, and straightforward - covered everything that I needed to know. Make sure you do your own research beforehand and bring your own questions to the visit. Payment was broken down clearly and there was no hidden costs. Once you pay upfront, the only other cost you have to pay is for the retainer. I never had to wait for than 10 mins before being taken in. All the staff was professional. My biggest tip for everyone and something I should have done is to have a general dental check up before your invisaligh tx (cleaning, fix any cavities, etc...). If you have your consultation after your dental health is taken care of, it will help the staff out a lot and save you the headache scheduling vivits later on. Finance Tip: Get an HSA or FSA if your work allows and contribute to the max limit for the year you plan on getting tx. Pay your cost upfront after the consultation and get reimbursed this way to avoid headaches with billings. Discomfort: Pain level was tolerable (2/10) for the first few trays or when you change rubber band size but other than that, discomfort is very low. Make sure you get your dental cleanings every 3-4 months as well! Your smile is your life! Don't wait to get started, whether it's invisalign or braces :)

Fantastic experience: I am so happy I chose Dr. Kathy and her team for the Invisalign program. She and her team throughout the entire process were professional, polite, and very knowledgeable. What you get is what top-tier service feels like. You can tell immediately she is a bona fide expert. The entire operation from top to bottom is pure class. The fact that the prices there are the same as other places is absolutely ridiculous. It is pretty much the equivalent of getting a 5-star award-winning chef for the same price as a nice local restaurant...Take the gourmet chef if you can! I really appreciated how clearly she explained exactly what was going on at every step. It was such a comfort to know she was totally on the ball and that things were going to turn out great. She never overpromised, she always over delivered and I literally cannot imagine any way their process could improve. I had always hated seeing my crooked teeth in the mirror for years. Now I can show my teeth when I smile! You literally look happier in every picture. The decision to purchase the adjustment left me extremely frustrated that I didn't do it sooner. I immediately recommended Dr. Kathy to all of my friends and family. It's funny it seemed like there was always someone at every party or at any bar in the middle of their Invisalign regimen and instantly you have this instant common ground. It was a pleasure to work with her entire team, they were all really nice and had a great attitude every time I came in. If you think you can benefit from a nicer smile, straighter teeth, etc... Talk to her! I was extremely happy with the results and I wish there was a sixth star I could give.

Fantastic experience: I am on the 12th (out of 39) set of aligners currently, and so far no issues whatsoever. Had a check-up appointment today and was confirmed that the teeth are tracking properly—in accordance with the plan created by Dr Shafagh. Negative experience: This is the first business office where I don't feel like just a number. The lovely receptionist remembers my name, I don't even check in. She greets me and it seems like all the staff is ready to assist me. There is no waiting here. The way this office is ran is totally different than anything I’ve encountered. Before coming here I went to 5 different Orthodontist, braces are expensive and I wanted everything to be perfect. I even went across the border to check out how they handled their treatments. The business manager is great, he gives you the estimate. He explains things nicely. He doesn’t pressure you like other offices. The Orthodontist is also super great, she listens to your needs and cares about your overall teeth health, not just the superficial appearance. I also highly recommend Invisalign. I love to snack on food and hate pain but this was super easy. Check this place out you will see that this place and treatment is a game changer. Best wishes. After treatment review: Josh convinced me to start treatment before my insurance was authorized and I had to pay out of my pocket during treatment. It was difficult for my insurance to go through because I had already started treatment. The office ended up giving me a 2,000 check after my insurance cleared. However, I had to call and text Josh multiple times to get his attention. Management didn’t handle the situation well, they kept saying everything was gonna be solved but every time I called I had to re-explain the situation. I didn’t get my money back until after I finished my treatment (about a year).

Fantastic experience: Saw the amazing reviews here which is part of the reason why I came to studio city orthodontist in the first place — and I must say, they really do a 5/5 star job here. Here’s why: 1. They helped me out financially when I had encountered financial hardships 2. Im not sure if there is typically a number of “treatments” and “re-scans” any patient can have, but I had quite a few. They truly care about doing a good job and didn’t charge anything on top of my original payment. 3. The friendly staff. Everyone here is very welcoming and friendly. When I moved up to San Fransisco, they even shipped me my new aligners to accommodate my move. 4. Cleanliness. COVID is real. In fact, I have severe asthma and I take it very seriously. So when I scheduled my appointment during the outbreak, I was a bit hesitant at first. That said, they did an AMAZING job of taking the necessary precautions to ensure that everyone is treated safely... I mean, at the end of the day, these people are medical professionals. They take temperatures of every patient. Everyone wears a mask. They make sure you use mouth wash before. All of the workers are constantly washing their hands and changing their gloves. All that said, it’s been a wonderful experience. So, GO SUPPORT A LOCAL BUSINESS and get your teeth nice and straight while we are all quarantined anyway. Hope this helps.

Before I found Dr. Kathy, I was with a different orthodontist that used Clear Correct instead of Invisalign, claiming that it was identical to Invisalign. I saw no results after a year with that doctor. After wasting thousands of dollars and a year of my time, I switched to Dr. Kathy’s office. I saw more results after my very first tray than I did during the entirety of the previous 12 months.I just finished my treatment today and couldn’t be happier! :) Thank you sooo much! Fantastic experience: I went to 4 different consultations before I got to Dr. Kathy. She was the first one who said I didn't need head gear and could fix my bite just with Invisalign. It took six months longer than we expected, but she was right! I'm so happy with the final result. She worked with what I wanted, no attachments on front teeth and listened when I wasn't satisfied with a tooth's position and wanted to adjust it. Fantastic experience: Just finished my invisalign treatment today and couldn’t be happier! A little over a year in treatment and I can’t stop smiling! I had an overbite, crowding, tmj, and was a tongue thruster to boot and Dr. Kathy + team put in place a plan to tackle all my issues/concerns. I now have the straight teeth I’ve always dreamed about and also no longer suffer from bite issues! Had to get a few treatment revisions along the way and my concerns were addressed as we continued. Dr. Kathy has such an incredible personality and it really shines through when you are with her.
