Fantastic experience: I haven’t been to the dentist in 7 years because I kept putting it off. My first appointment, Pam and Dr. Darling went over everything that I needed. I went to schedule my next appointment for my first deep cleaning and the scheduling was pretty far out. Pam came to the front desk and made it work to get me started that same day! Pam is amazing! She was so nice and comforting. My second visit was for a filling. I was with Colleen and she was also so sweet and helpful. She mentioned that it would be great if I could get my second half deep cleaned while I was already numbed for the filling. She kept checking to see if anyone cancelled on their schedule and somehow made it work to get that done with Pam at the same appointment. Last but certainly not least, Dr. Darling is so friendly and answered all the questions I had and explained things well for both of my visits. I am beyond grateful for the exceptional care I have received so far at Southshore Family Dentistry!

Fantastic experience: Frist time going. Me and my grandson. Everyone was so nice. One thing that touched me was an elderly woman needed help reading her forms and the receptionists was so kind and gentle with her reading her the questions and helping her with the forms. At the same time taking care of the phones. And being extremely kind and happy to everyone. She really seem like she liked her job. Thank you for that. We consumers dont get to see that very often. Fantastic experience: 1st time visit to Southshore Family Dentistry. I’ve always hesitated to visit any dental office. Mostly due to childhood neglect. I met Dr. Darling and I have to admit … he was a darling wonderful soul. He was very caring, soft spoken, funny and kind. He made me feel OK like his going to take care of me like he knew me forever. Fantastic experience: Today I had a dentist appt at Southshore dentistry Candance deep a deep cleaning for me and was marvelous didn’t hurt at all . And was so kind and pleasant . I also saw Colleen who did my 2 fillings she also was very gentle and always asking if I was ok . This dental office is a great option if need caring and nice people and very knowledgeable. Fantastic experience: I love Dr. Darling and staff especially Colleen (that is who I typically deal with). He is really nice, funny and I trust him. Colleen is very helpful and really personable. Even though they have many patients she always remembers me from the moment I walk in. Again I trust her. Gloria in the front is AMAZING at her job. Fantastic experience: Amazing staff Q and the Dr who comes in once a month to do the extractions ( I sincerely apologize for not remembering your name ) were very patient with me, at 28 years old and being terrified of the dentist they definitely gave me ease on returning for my future dental work thank you guys so much I will definitely be coming back here the atmosphere is very calm and welcoming wait time wasn’t long at all.

Positive experience: We will no longer be bringing our family of six here. I am giving three stars solely because we genuinely like Dr. Darling. We have been patients for many years, but since a former receptionist left, the front office has significantly declined. The administrative staff has been unprofessional and, at times, difficult to work with. This is disappointing, as we once truly enjoyed coming here. Unfortunately, the front office is the primary point of contact for patients, and that experience has not been positive. Because of this, we have decided it is time to move on. If you do decide to go here- make sure you know your insurance well, document everything.

Fantastic experience: Pam the dental hygenist is amazing! Especially for our 3 year old, he actually enjoyed his time at his dental appointment! Also, Dr Darling was funny crackin jokes with the family, kindhearted and considerate, when my 3 year old quickly closed his eyes when he went to use his light he turned it down. He has a calm warmhearted dad like spirit, the kind you wished all dentists were. Truly a 5 star experience. Highly recommend.

Negative experience: I set up an appointment with them weeks in advance giving them my insurance information over the phone. They chose not to call it to verify until the day of the appointment apparently and then decided to do some x-rays anyway that cost money without verifying my insurance. They then decide to tell me later in the day I own them somewhere around 380 bucks which is absurd. Did they do this intentionally? I hope not, but it feels like I was bamboozled especially since they had so much time to verify my insurance. So heads up they do this to people, my wife that was sitting in the lobby said that she seen another few stories unfold that were somewhere so be careful with these people. They seemed friendly, but then again I guess they knew I was buying their dinner that night.

Fantastic experience: I had a hard time finding a new dentist after my former dentist retired. I’m always so nervous to go to the dentist, but I really enjoy going to Southshore Family. During each of my experiences I’ve had there, everyone has been kind and I never feel rushed. Fantastic experience: I recently visited this dentistry due to an insurance change. We have had horrible experiences at Pippin dental in highland and this office was so incredibly kind and patient with my daughter. Mia at the front desk was so friendly and kind to talk to. Liz even took the time to show her the tools that she was using to clean her teeth so she wouldn't be afraid. Dr Darling was so funny , and kind. He has such a calm spirit so my daughter and I were relaxed.I will definitely be using this office in the future for not only myself before my daughter and my husband as well. Positive experience: Dr. Darling and MOST of the hygienist are wonderful. However, the front desk staff is unprofessional and rude. I braught both my 6 and 8 yr old in for cleanings-both with different dental hygienists. My daughter had a hard time with the bite wings in her small mouth and the hygienist did not seem to have the patience for her. She should probably just stick to adults. My son's hygienist was sweet .

Fantastic experience: My front crown fell out and the Crown Point Location got me in within a couple days. I am having insurance issues and they did not charge me an arm and a leg for the consultation, xrays, and to fix my crown. Fantastic experience: Fantastic experience. We've been coming here for years now and have never had an issue. My previous dentist had informed me that I had four cavities before our insurance changed and we had to switch to South shore. Dr Darling informed me that my four cavities were in fact fine and required nothing to be done. I went from being unsure about a new dentist to being comfortable almost immediately. Both of my kids come here as well as my wife. Our kids feel very comfortable coming here and enjoy everyone they interact with. Don't hesitate coming here if you are looking for a new place. We've never waited more than 5 minutes to be taken in and parking is easy in/out.

Negative experience: Dr Darling and his immediate staff is GREAT I've been going here for over a decade but recently the admin staff has been horrendous to deal with. I was told they rolled things into a new system and it cancelled some of the appointments for my family. I was told I was put on the list for cancellations to receive notifications, come to find out I wasn't. Business is booming, which is the goal for any business owner but customer service definitely has taken a hit. Unfortunately I feel that my family's business is no longer appreciated here.

Negative experience: This is a great dentist office. The main dentist, Dr. Darling, is friendly and is also very professional. I was in the office when he was helping out a young patient, he and his staff did a great job calming the child and getting the work done quickly. Mrs. Jean did a great job as my hygienist. The two that work at the desk, Alyx and Jackie, are very friendly and help provide a good, calming atmosphere in waiting room. Unfortunately, the billing is very complicated. I was billed twice for the same visit. They outsource their billing department. Their front desk staff have rotating shifts throughout the year, so working through these problems gets complicated. If you go, keep good records.

Fantastic experience: I don't often leave reviews for really anything, but I felt compelled to leave one here because this place is awesome. I'm not exaggerating when I say I've never had a better experience at any other dentist I've been to. Candace is very personable and always so helpful, and I appreciate how she takes the time at each cleaning to talk to me about how my teeth look and even show me what's come off of them as she cleans. Dr. Darling is extremely patient and compassionate, and I greatly appreciate the way he talks to me. I've had many other dentists and doctors treat me indifferently at best and contemptuously at worst which has made me wary in the past, but Dr. Darling has only ever treated me with kindness and respect. I cannot recommend this clinic highly enough - my only complaint is that I can't take the whole place with me when I move out of state!

Dr. Darling pointed out some future dental work that should be done in the coming years, but he didn't pressure me to spend money on anything now until my insurance renews. Very pleased and will return again.

Negative experience: Deceptive business practices. I agreed to x-rays covered by insurance. The EOB claimed otherwise and I'm stuck with the bill. The administrative staff is helpless save their cookie cutter scripts and the office manager has yet to reach out to me as promised.
Fantastic experience: These people deserve all the 5 star reviews! When I arrived for my daughter's appointment, they took note of the fact that I had an appointment for myself later that week & offered me to get it out of the way that same day after my daughter's appointment. Normally I would get a sitter before going to the dentist for myself, but they were EXTREMELY helpful with my children. Especially Gloria & Colleen! Gloria not only put on Bluey in the waiting room when she noticed I was struggling to keep them patient/content, but she offered to watch them for me when I went back for my appointment. On top of that, Colleen set aside time to sit with them as well & I can't ask for a better dentist's office, truly! It takes a village & the people here go above & BEYOND expectations for a dentist office. Every office should be like this. :)
Fantastic experience: Dr. Darling and his staff are truly wonderful! I came in today as a first time patient because I’d been dealing with a cracked filling that was causing a lot of pain. I arrived early but was promptly taken back to have my x-rays taken by Jean anyway. She was incredibly friendly and efficient. I have always struggled with dental anxiety but after explaining to Dr. Darling and his assistant Colleen I felt completely at ease. They were very thorough at explaining each step of the process and my filling was repaired in less than 20 mins & totally painless. On my way out, Gloria at the front desk got me squared away for a future cleaning. She also went above and beyond to help with retrieving my dental records from a previous provider. Thank you Dr. Darling and staff for making this such a seamless experience.
