Fantastic experience: Everyone was nice and explained things.

Fantastic experience: I was in Chicago area on business when I broke a wisdom tooth that started an infection under the next tooth and quickly spiralled to severe pain. Local colleagues crowdsourced an emergency dentist for me who referred me to Endodontic Associates of IL. They were amazing. Dr. Pillai did a five minute laser root canal and extracted the two wisdom teeth (one broken and the other was not in great shape). All under local which sounded scary at first but made my life so much easier as I did not have to deal with being put under and finding someone to drive me around while on travel from out of state. State of the art equipment and surgery. I had one day of swelling and minor pain. I am almost embarrased by how easy the recovery has been. Dr. Pillai had a great chair-side manner, matching my level of wry humor at the situation but when my gag reflex kicked in and I went into a bit of panic mode, he paused and talked me down very professionally. 10 of 10, I would recomment Endodontic Associates of Illinois.

Negative experience: Overall I was not happy with going to the oakbrook office. It was nothing like the other reviews I had read. I was anxious about getting a root canal, I had X-rays taken but never explained, they were all stressed out because they hired a new temp person and she needed help (which is ok….) but then the doctor was very rude to all the others and even mentioned to me that the day had been rough. I felt like I was in the way, and I had already waited a half hour to wait for the doctor. He did not explain why he was doing a root canal or what the point of all the 3D X-rays were, instead I had to ask as we went. I felt uncomfortable the whole time and that I was just another patient he was getting through to get to the next. He also was rude to the staff, asking why things hadn’t been done before he stepped on the room (when they were helping the new girl). I will not go back, I am a patient and easy going person - just very anxious about my teeth and this was a really bad visit all around.

Fantastic experience: Excellent visit . Dr. explains everything carefully. The office Ladies are effcient and welcoming. The assistant was very professional and caring. So glad to have my work done there.

Fantastic experience: The thought of having a root canal was terrifying. I anticipated a lot of pain pre and post. To my surprise it was all very tolerable. My Endodontist explained every step of the process and gentle. He and his assistant made sure I was comfortable the entire time. Dr. Pillai and Tatum were awesome .

Fantastic experience: My experience was great! I came in with a cracked crowned infected molar and was very anxious. But the staff were very kind and helpful and Dr. Pawluk was the man with the treatment plan, which is going well. Thank you!!! Excellent service and wonderful care by Dr. Pawluk and his staff.

Fantastic experience: I was happy with the doctor but when I made the appointment, I was given a 10:40 time with Dr. Pawluk. Ended up going at 11:00 with different doctor. I also asked for them to check my insurance and this did not happen so was an expensive root canal but as stated, i was very happy with the doctor.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Pillia and his staff are wonderful. The receptionists both named Joanne make you fill welcome the minute you open the door and very helpful answering any questions. Dr Pillai and his nurse put you at ease and explain the procedures so you are fully informed. I would highly recommend this practice if you need speciality dentistry.

Negative experience: I’m extremely disappointed with my experience at this office. I went in expecting professional care and clear communication, but instead felt blindsided by unexpected charges and a lack of transparency. After already paying a $90 copay, I was taken back to a room to wait for the endodontist. Before I could even be seen, a staff member told me I needed to pay an additional $250 for a scan. This was never mentioned beforehand, and I felt pressured into paying it just to continue with the appointment. It wasn’t until the endodontist stepped in that I received any real explanation. In the end, I was told I needed to see a periodontist and that they wouldn’t be able to treat me. I left without any resolution to my dental issue, despite paying for the visit and the scan. To make matters worse, I had to go back inside to ask for the CD of my scan and paperwork, which wasn’t even ready when I left. After weeks of no follow-up or referral assistance, I scheduled an appointment with a periodontist through my insurance. Unfortunately, the $250 scan I paid for was unusable the specialist couldn’t even review it. I have to rely on older records from my general dentist instead, causing further delays in getting treatment. Overall, this experience felt more focused on billing than patient care. Patients deserve upfront communication about costs, proper coordination between providers, and meaningful treatment not unexpected charges and no solutions. I would not recommend this practice to anyone looking for honest, transparent care.

After a root canal performed by a previous dentist, a metal file broke and became lodged deep within my root canal and jaw. I was told it couldn’t be removed, and I lived for years with sensitivity and recurring infection. Eventually, the discomfort and worry became too much, and I decided to seek a second opinion. From the very first consultation, Dr. Pillai was confident, knowledgeable, and reassuring. He explained the risks, the complexity of the case, and the treatment plan in detail. He even ordered specialized instruments specifically for this procedure. During surgery, he carefully opened the gum, removed the broken instrument, cleaned and disinfected the area, and performed a new root canal. Seven months later, at my follow-up appointment, the ultrasound and X-ray scans showed zero signs of infection and perfect healing. My tooth has not been sensitive since the day of the surgery, something I honestly never thought would be possible again. I cannot express how grateful I am for his skill, patience, and professionalism. A procedure that other dentists considered impossible was handled with confidence and precision. Fantastic experience: Update 2: Follow up after tooth was placed. Perfect! Dr. Pawluk is absolutely the most skilled dentist, ever. I’m am so grateful to him. Update: Implant was placed today. The process is long, but will be well worth it. Once again, Dr. Pawluk was so kind, caring, and professional. I knew I was in the best hands for this procedure. I highly recommend Dr. Pawluk and his staff for your endodontic dental procedures. Today, 24 hours later, I feel very little discomfort and can tell I’m healing great. I’m very thankful to Dr. Pawluk. After trying to save a tooth that had a great deal of trauma( cycling accident, auto accident, tree trimming accident) over 50 years, there was no saving my front tooth. I was devastated to learn it must be removed, however Dr. Pawluk made me feel confident that I could get my smile back after the extraction with an implant. I was so nervous because I did not have great experiences with several previous dentists while living out of state. Today, my tooth was extracted, and it was quick and easy. The injections were almost painless. Now, I’m on the road to healing and on to the implant procedures, all of which Dr. Pawluk will do. He is a very skilled dentist, and knows what has to be done. I’m glad my general dentist referred me and I know I’m in good hands with Dr. Pawluk.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Pawluk is one of the best in the country. He has completed two root canals for me. It has been 5 years since the last one and they are both great. No infections or inflammation. I had a problem with another tooth next to the root canal and he was able to pull up the scan from 5 years ago to compare the area. There was no change. It was really nice to be able to see that and so quickly. He would never sell you something you don’t need. If you want the best, come here.

Negative experience: this place is disorganized and always in a rush over booked and don’t give the proper attention and care to actual concerns from patients if u want to be heard at all i dont suggest going to this place they will play nice the first visit but after they get the money its a total switch up. everytime i’ve called ive gotten attitude for asking normal questions. the blonde nurse was rushing taking out my stitches and kept cutting me off not letting me finish any of my sentences. she also gave me the wrong follow up care instructions apparently it’s the same for every patient so i’m not sure why i was lied to. i even called to double check because of how mcuh she was rushing and not clear with me and was told the false information again to not to clean my surgical site. called a second time and a different lady told me they tell every to patient to clean it after the membrane removal. pretty ridiculous. i even scheduled an emergency appointment because of a possible infection and the dr saw me and was SO RUDE this man was about ready to yell at me im not sure why everyone working there is miserable but something’s gotten change! if you chose this job im not sure why your so angry for having to do your job. a little bedside manner and basic respect never hurt anyone. a lot of the nurses lack basic communication skills aswell the red haired girl and the blonde. these people need to be trained in at area or simply don’t work a job where an empathy is required. I genuinely don’t understand how this place is rated so high. I will say the procure itself was painless during it. That was my only positive with this place.

Fantastic experience: Very very good service from Dr P. They make root canal experience less horrifying. The procedure is fast and the pain is minimal compared to older practices. If anyone needed a root canal I’ll send them there.

Fantastic experience: I had root canal treatment done on July,31st 2025. The office staff was very efficient. Dr. Pawluk was very attentive. He explained the procedure very thoroughly with complete explanation of x ray and CT scan to my satisfaction which helped me getting over my anxiety and I felt confident about coming to Endodontic associate of Illinois and Dr. Pawluk. Negative experience: HORRIBLE DENTIST ASSOCIATE! the weird looking lady with red hair needs to be REPLACED! she has absolutely 0 social skills or bedside manner! i was a first time patient here and after dealing with her i will NOT be coming back again. She had no care to what i had to say even even sighed and gave some attitude when i was making comments about being anxious since i have bad anxiety, she’s a HORRIBLE representation of this dentist that i know otherwise is great! i’ve heard other patients whispering and complaining about her as well so im voicing it on here to warn others! She could care less about attending to clients and is obviously on there to get paid! she’s laughable at her job

Fantastic experience: I love Dr. Pawluk and this office. I was in a great amount of pain and needed a root canal. They got me in rather quickly for a consultation and then for the root canal. He also found that a previous root canal that was done at the dentist office had left some files in there and I had no idea and I am working with him to get them removed as it's causing an infection. I wouldnt have know if it wasn't for him. If you need a root canal do yourself and future self a favor and see a specialist like Dr. Pawluk!

Fantastic experience: Really great experience here for someone who hates the dentist and had to get a root canal! Literally everyone who worked there was kind and made me feel right at home. They asked in their intake paperwork if you experience any dental anxiety and asked if they could help. As a mental health therapist I was so thankful for that!!! The procedure was easy and wasn’t nearly as horrible as I expect!!!

Fantastic experience: My experience with the Endodontic Associates of Illinois and my attending Doctor Qian Xie was outstanding. The high level of skill and in depth knowledge knowledge was evident in the efficiency of the procedure. The procedure was quick, painless, and led to a positive outcome. I was extremely impressed with the attention to detail and the ease in which the challenging procedure was executed by Doctor Xie. Pricing and clarity over action items was clear and the office staff able to quote accurately pre-procedure. Location parking was a little unclear, but the staff was happy to assist. Recovery and after care was well communicated and catered to my individual needs. There was clear communications back to my primary dentist who was able to schedule follow-ups and coordinate a handoff of my care with ease. Prior to the procedure, I had been in constant pain for three weeks and unable to sleep for more than three hours per day. They were so patient with me even as I was uncharacteristically agitated. Having good soft skills to mitigate patient anxiety is an additional upside to the overall experience. So thank you. Now I can sleep, eat, and drink again, which is no small thing.

Fantastic experience: I had to see Dr Pawluk on an emergency basis - referred to him by my regular dentist for a possible root canal - ugh. Dr. Pawluk is personable, professional, quick, thorough, explains things clearly, and happily for me, diagnosed trauma from a concussion, and NO ROOT CANAL! BTW my wife is a happy client of this firm through her root canal, which has been pain and trouble free.

Fantastic experience: I've had several root canals done here that were no biggie but I recently needed an apicoectomy. I was nervous about the apico but Dr. Pillai answered all my questions and the procedure was p quick and absolutely painless. The desk had insurance estimates quickly and were also very helpful with any questions. I would def return again in the future if needed.

Positive experience: The operators and receptionists were all very lovely. The day of the root canal the receptionists were very helpful with retrieval of my records from my dentist (that were not forwarded) and so understanding of my anxiety. The once again, as discussed during the intake call, that I would be given nitrous oxide and I even had my daughter drive just in case. The surgeon would not give me the nitrous after i relayed several times that I have anxiety and was nervous about the procedure. She said let’s see how you do with out it. She said have you ever had it in the past, no? Well how do you know it will work. I couldn’t understand why we were straying from the plan but this worries me to the point of tears. She then asked what was wrong and I told her I told you about 10 times I am anxious. She then stopped to put the device over my nose and then changed her demeanor. It really should have never gotten to that point. I relayed my concerns the solution was relayed to me and we should not have gotten to the point where I was questioned while sitting in the chair with the qtip with numbing agent in my mouth.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Pawluk's office is very well kept. The staff is clear & competent. I had hoped Endodontic Associates of Ill. could correct a misized, painful & premature crown which needed prior root canal & did not cover the 2nd molar. Dr. Pawluk drilled thru a new, very hard crown, with no pain, completely removed & sterilized the canal with several roots. He identified the source of the problem & how to correct it. My only regret is not going to his office sooner. Any root canal work I have in the future, will be done there. Thank you.

Fantastic experience: I was dealing with severe tooth pain with a tooth that needed to be pulled. When other dentists were unable to see me for weeks, Dr. Pawluk fit me into a busy schedule to pull the tooth. Not only was he concerned for me enough to make time for me, but he also did an excellent job and also made me feel at ease. I definitely recommend Dr. Pawluk. A++ from me!

Fantastic experience: What can I say. I'm an extremely anxious person when it comes to dental offices, but every single staff member made sure to check on me too make sure I was doing okay. Talked me though every step. This was my second root canal with Dr. Pillai and I've got to praise him. He was so gentle and really did make me feel so comfortable. Truly no pain at all. Everything is state of the art and clean. You are in and out of there quickly. They called to check on my today to make sure I was feeling okay as well! I hope I never need another root canal, but in the case I do I will always come here. Thank you to the entire team!

Fantastic experience: The whole staff was helpful, it did not matter who the dentist (sorry if use the wrong term) was, everyone was helpful. The ladies at the front desk explained what was going to happen with the procedure and the bill associated with it. Also the (dentist), was patient with me as I do not like shots. Highly recommend

Fantastic experience: This was my first root canal in over 60 years. I was pleased with Dr. Pawluk and the staff. No pain and everything was explained before and after the procedure.

Positive experience: EDIT: I am re writing my review due to new communication with the office and Dr. They reached out to me to rectify this situation. Dr. personally called me and I was able to discuss my concerns. The issue with customer service and the double charge (I already had a consultation done but was scheduled and charged for another consultation) was addressed. I like my doctor, regardless my experience was not the best, I think he was rough… my procedure was days ago and I still having soreness and pain in my cheek. His assistant was the best of the office staff, because his front desk staff was rude and unhelpful, blaming me of their mistakes and not trying to correct or apologize. I finished having the procedure for the one that I was supposed to be scheduled, but I feel that I have been charged for a double visit… the one that they wrongly scheduled for me and the only one that I really had..

Fantastic experience: My doctor was very patient and caring and seem to be very passionate about his profession much like my past dentist for over 35 years now retired the office staff were also very nice and seemed to be very knowledgeable about their position and the one that called me for a follow up seemed genuine about checking up on patients there was minimal to 0 pain he was very precise with the needle I'm looking forward to being his patient for the long term THANK YOU VERY MUCH Mr Williams

Fantastic experience: Was as good of an experience as you could have getting a root canal. Felt no pain, was done in an hour. Dr. Pawluk described what to expect at the beginning and answered any questions as we went. A great experience!

Fantastic experience: An amazing experience. Very professional staff. I had two crown extractions with massive abscess. Dr Pawlik did my extractions, I had no pain, swelling or bleeding. The staff very clearly explained to me my part in my after treatment. The best of the best.
