Negative experience: Do NOT use this dentist! Let me start by saying the dentist was nice but the office staff left me wanting. 1st, we scheduled appointments for my wife, my daughter and myself at separate times so one of us could chaperone my daughter. Upon arrival, the staff really tried pressuring us to all be seen at the same time (which would leave my daughter unchaperoned). My wife refused and one of the staff members started getting loud and rude with her so I stepped out from getting my x-rays to quell the situation. Took some doing, but the staff relented and my wife and I were able to swap off chaperoning our daughter. Then, they said my daughter needed sealants and my wife asked if this was covered by insurance. They said yes. I overheard this and said I needed them to check again because she'd already had sealants a few years ago and I was almost certain that insurance would not cover a second time so soon. They insisted they double checked and our insurance said it would be covered. Against my better judgment, I relented and agreed to the sealants. Lo and behold, we got a bill from this dentist...and wouldn't you know it, insurance did NOT cover the procedure. I called in the hopes they would waive the charge as we had been assured it was covered. NOPE! They refused to waive the charge. And had the gall to say, "I'm sorry, you can pay via the link provided..." At that point, I cancelled my future appointments with them. I will NEVER use this office again. And I do NOT recommend this office to even my worst enemy.

Negative experience: I wasted a significant amount of time here yesterday. A family member recommended this office to me and even sent a flyer advertising a discount on Invisalign and teeth whitening. As a new patient, I expected a cleaning and a full consultation, but none of that happened. Instead, they spent almost two hours taking photos of my teeth on tablets and doing X‑rays. The person assisting me seemed inexperienced—multiple people had to come into the room to help her retake photos. I saw the actual dentist for less than a minute. He asked what my Invisalign goals were, but by that point I was already frustrated because the assistant had told me I wouldn’t be getting a cleaning at all. I took a day off work for this appointment, and it felt completely wasted. When I mentioned that I was new and thought I’d be getting a cleaning, the dentist brought someone in to quickly look at my teeth. They told me I would need a cleaning before starting Invisalign. He left to check if someone could do it that day, and I was under the impression it would be taken care of—until he came back and said, “We’re sorry, we couldn’t do it. Did they already get you scheduled?” No one had. The final straw was having to wait for two people to return from lunch just to get an estimate for how much everything would cost. For the amount of money patients spend at the dentist, you’d expect more organization, communication, and basic care.

Negative experience: Office Staff and dentist seemed nice enough, but they did two crowns side by side. I believe only one was needed, but Dr. Dong and his staff told me that my insurance coverage was over $4,000, so mightaswell have them both done. They also said I needed about 15 more procedures, which, I suspect, is just a way to get more out of my insurance company, which is Medicare. But the absolute WORST is the procedure itself. I am very pain tolerant... never use novocaine or any other pain suppressant for any procedure, so you can see I'm pain tolerant. BUT, I have NEVER, EVER had so much pain in my life for the past two months as I have had with my bite after these crowns were cemented in place. After the crowns, my bite is all wrong and causing so much pain every time I chew. When they were checking my bite, I told them SEVERAL times that they didn't have to take any more off the crowns... that my bite was fine; however, they didn't listen to me and insisted that they needed to file more off. The new crowns don't even come down to my other teeth, so there's no chewing on that side... they don't connect. So it is all going to my other side to chew, etc. I'm very terrified to go back because as I've been telling everyone, would you go back to a mechanic who screwed up your car to have him/her fix it? I'll try to find another dentist who is better than this place, but I'll have to pay all over again out of pocket because they used up all my insurance! I would NEVER recommend this dental place!!! They should offer to fix this free of charge because it was their mess that they need to fix.

Fantastic experience: Dr Thomas at Dental Care At Estrella Crossroads is simply the very best dentist I have ever had! He replaced four crowns with underlying decay and did so with no discomfort to me. He explained my options clearly and helped select the crown color best suited to my natural teeth. I highly recommend him for all dental needs! His office is welcoming with all the hi- tech tools used in modern dentistry. The staff is extremely helpful. My Medicare Advantage plan was also accepted so my costs were negligible!

Fantastic experience: I moved to AZ a couple of years ago and was looking for a dentist office similar to the one I had where I am originally from. I went to a couple of different dentist offices but didn’t feel comfortable. I came across Dental Care at Estrella Crossroads and figured I’d give them a try. I am very happy and feel right at home. It’s like having an extended family!

Fantastic experience: I was pleasantly surprised at how well the entire experience went, with the cleaning and exam. It started with a 15 minute front desk discussion prior to accepting them as my “tooth place”, because I had been poorly cared for at a previous facility, and did not want a repeat at whatever new place I chose. Carmen was the hygienist (tooth cleaner). She handled both the work part and the explanation of each area like the professional she is, with an excellent manner and confident hands. Julie was the doctor who examined me. Also a pleasant surprise. Great manner and excellent communication of different “mouth” possibilities (I don’t need much, but it’s good to know things that need addressing). Lena handled the “before and after” from the front desk. Despite my initial concerns, she never wavered in her presentation of the great experience I would (and did!) receive if I allowed the appointment to proceed. I’m glad I did

Fantastic experience: Friendly staff and I was most impressed with the wonderful woman who is their insurance specialist. She crossed the t’s and dotted the i’s and left no stone unturned when it came to dealing with my insurance provider.

Negative experience: I would not recommend this place. My husband had an appointment today at 4pm. He arrived 15 minutes early as instructed to complete paperwork. Upon arrival he was informed that the hygienist had left to pick up her kids and would be back at 5pm and he was asked if he wanted to wait. If you have appointments scheduled why is anyone leaving the office. It's completely unprofessional and unacceptable. My husband was asked if he wanted to reschedule but we will not be brining our business here. If something comes up and you can't honor people's scheduled appointment a common courtesy is to call before they waste an hour driving to your establishment. Wish I could give zero stars.

Fantastic experience: What an amazing staff and specialized care! I took my dad, who has dementia, to this dental office for an extensive teeth cleaning. The staff, from check-in, all the way through to when we left, (which, by the way was over three hours because of his condition) was absolutely exceptional! Everyone treated my dad and myself with over and above compassion, care, and gentleness. I couldn’t rave more about them! He was a very difficult case, since he doesn’t understand commands, and his mouth was painful. Yet, everyone rallied to lend a helping hand and our hygienist, Carmen persevered the 3 hours with grace, compassion and excellent care! Shout out also to front desk, Lena, dentist Julie, and two other hygienists who assisted throughout, Margarita and Kelly!

Negative experience: Just terrible service, I called three different times to have someone look at a claim that was never resolved from a cleaning I received back in March and they said they would contact my insurance and get back to me yet never did. They are overpriced and expensive with all of their services, never get back to you on anything regarding your bill. So if you like a nice expensive dentist then this is the place for you, just look at their fancy pens and lobby.

Negative experience: I recently had a cavity treatment and had to wait a while in the room. During the treatment, I felt a slight pain in my lip. When I got back to my car, I was surprised to find that my lip was cut and bleeding. I understand that accidents can happen, but a simple explanation from the doctor would have been helpful .

Negative experience: I just went in to get a crown glued back on. They told me it would be an initial office visit of $58. Then they started taking x-rays. I asked if that was included in the initial visit. They said yes and then an office person came in and gave me a procedure paper to sign which stated it was going to be $150. I told her that I was told 58 and she said this was to cement the crown so when I went up to pay it ended up being $208 but nobody told me that when I signed the paper so I was very upset that I was misled on what the charge was going to be for that visit. I feel like I could have gone anywhere else and I wouldn't have charged me that much. I will not be going back.

Fantastic experience: ***Sorry this review is kinda long but it's mainly for extremely anxious people who are afraid of the dentist office / may have fear of pain*** I needed not one... but TWO teeth pulled!! Dx The day of my consultation they went over all the treatment plans & let me choose what I wanted to do.. I freaked out & kinda teared up (embarrassing at my grown age) but they comforted me & helped me feel more at ease. The day of the procedure they gave me all the medicine I needed to feel relaxed and calm as possible. They kept me informed like what they were doing, how long it will take, & everything about post-op care. Most dentists won't work on you if you're that anxious but this dental office made sure I felt safe, comfortable, & actually listened to my questions/concerns. On top of everything I didn't use any dental insurance but it was the cheapest option for me in Goodyear, AZ. Thank you to Dr. Thomas & his team for being so amazing! (': I will keep returning here for future appts & will refer this place to everyone.

Negative experience: Very aggressive on treatment options. Get you in for first visit and only do trays then have you come back when they have more time to do treatment. Front office very robotic when entering. Mixed feeling about this place

Positive experience: Staff was great. However, I wish they would indicate how much time is needed for first appointment. Even though I thought I gave myself enough hours it was not enough so it resulted in me having to schedule an additional appointment. Otherwise my first experience was great.

Fantastic experience: From the minute I walked through the door, I found myself so comfortable. This was my first visit. Within a few minutes I was called into a room by Trina. Trina was professional and friendly. She was excellent in explaining what would be done during my exam and teeth cleaning. I look forward to seeing her again for my next cleaning. This is the place you want to go for your dental care. They are located in a great area easy to spot from the road.

Fantastic experience: This place is a breath of fresh air for anxious and sensitive folks like myself. The staff -- from the front desk receptionists to the hygienists and doctors -- are some of the sweetest people you'll meet. They are compassionate, understanding, and explain every step of the way with kindness and knowledge. I recently received my first cavity fillings and got a little overwhelmed during treatment, but they didn't hesitate to pause the procedure, sit me up, and give me a moment to gather myself. If you've been putting off dental work due to negative experiences in other offices or due to general dental anxiety, I beg you to give Dental Care at Estrella Crossroads a try!! For as long as I live in the Goodyear area, I will always go here for my dental care. <3

Negative experience: WARNING: Do not go here. Went here because I had a tooth infection that was causing severe pain and run the possibility of the infection getting to my brain. Went to the emergency room the night before and they said that I need to remove the tooth ASAP and that the pain and my dehydration from not being able to eat and drink anything was probably causing my blood pressure to rise. I was told that the dentist would not pull the tooth because he was worried about working on someone with high Bp and he didn’t have time for complicated procedures, he had too many customers. They sent me away without doing anything for me and told a sick and dying person to go somewhere else. What kind of medical facility does that? They even made me take all kind of expensive x-rays knowing that they had no intention of working on me. They wasted my time , caused me to suffer unnecessarily, and I almost died. What happened to the Hippocratic Oath? These people play nice but it’s all fake, don’t be fooled, they only want your money they don’t care about you.

Negative experience: If they keep your scheduled appointment then the whole place is very average. I’ve had 2 appointments rescheduled which is very inconvenient for someone who works full time and moves my schedule around just to be there. Especially when they told me how I need to urgently do something about my tooth to just push back the appt the day before.

Negative experience: Went there on an "emergency" basis to have a crown re-cemented(although I had to wait a week for an appointment). I specifically told them NOT to bill my insurance, and that I wanted to pay out of pocket. At the front desk, I was informed that there would be a mandatory charge of $50 for an xray and exam, and that I would be informed of the total price before the re-cementing. After the xray and exam, someone came into the room and told me that the total charge would be $99 out of pocket. I again told her that I did not want my insurance billed. The crown was re-cemented, I paid the $99, and left(this took 2 hours, as the dentist was going from room to room). Last week I received a notice from my insurance that they had billed $145, and been paid $103. I called and asked for a refund of $99. Had to leave a message. Received a call this morning saying that there would be no refund, with some convoluted reason. I think you call this "double dipping".

Fantastic experience: I went into the office with an abscessed tooth. I also had trouble with the paperwork so was crabby. This office staff was amazing. To a person, they made me smile, laugh, and feel better even before I saw Dr. Dong who was also awesome. The care was excellent, and the treatment was explained in a way that even I understood.
