Fantastic experience: They are always nice, helpful and its the best experience I've had at a dental office

Negative experience: I came here in 2019 and haven’t forgotten how bad the experience was. The doctor was very young and inexperienced. He tryed to tell me my son needed to have numerous fillings. Which was ridiculous because I had just moved here and had always kept up on his dental cleanings and had no concerns from his previous dentist. I did not take his word for it and went and got a second opinion and they saw no cavities. They obviously are just trying to make money off of you. I would not recommend this place at all. On top of it I was there for hours to be lied to.

Positive experience: “I had prosthetics made for my lower jaw, and in my opinion, the work was done very professionally .” “When I came back with a different issue, the approach seemed a bit incompetent: they just scheduled a cleaning even though I repeatedly said that I felt the problem was much deeper. And that’s exactly what happened—cleaning didn’t help.” “But overall, I’ve noticed that the dentists know their work well and treat patients with skill and kindness, except for the girls at the reception desk.” “A solid four stars. Thank you!”

Fantastic experience: Great place! Dr Gupta and Bethany and KiKi are a dream team. The dentist literally calls you back herself and introduces herself and tells you and shows you why you need what you need. Bethany explained everything to me about my insurance. And then KiKi held my hand during the procedure. Recommend for anyone but especially if you’re nervous of the dentist to see this Dr!

Fantastic experience: Kee Kee and Dr F help me with a root canal and bridge work done, and I couldn’t be happier with the results. The entire team was professional, friendly, and made me feel comfortable throughout the process. The dentist took the time to explain everything clearly, answered all of my questions, and made sure I was pain-free during treatment. The quality of the work is excellent, and my bridge fits perfectly and looks completely natural. I was nervous going in, but the experience was much easier than I expected. The staff was caring and attentive from start to finish. I highly recommend this office to anyone needing dental work, especially root canals or bridges. Thank you for giving me my smile and confidence back!

Negative experience: Do not go here. All they care about is making as much money off you as they can. Had an appointment awhile back. They tried saying I needed a cleaning that was over $1,000 (out of pocket even if you have insurance which we do). I did get it done as we were new here after my husband retired from the military. Thank goodness he found out he can get free dental through dentists that participate with the V.A. But I will never go back here or take my kids back here. They will come in with multiple staff to make you think you need some expensive treatments that I have never heard of in my 44 years! Figured I’d come read all the terrible reviews and I see others have felt the same way.

Fantastic experience: The staff are all super nice. Got a root canal and crown done. They checked up on me to make sure I was okay or needed anything. Shoutout to KiKi for being super nice and welcoming as well!

Fantastic experience: As a first time patient they were able to get me in quickly without any fuss. I needed a lot of dental work done due to not having been to the dentist in about 10 years and they were able to do it all same day. They were very forthcoming with the pricing and taking me through everything they were doing and why they were doing it. Kiki did all my check in x-rays and cleaning and she was super sweet and understanding with any un comfortability that I may have. Everyone was a very welcoming. I highly recommend them!

I have always been nervous at dental offices, but Smiles of Oakridge has such a kind and friendly staff that I finally feel comfortable going to the dentist!!

Fantastic experience: Everyone was very helpful and supportive! I was never unsure of their abilities to treat me.

Negative experience: This week I had my 6-month scheduled checkup and cleaning. The room that I was taken to looked more like a storage room than an exam room. No hygienist is currently employed at this location. This was verified by the dentist. My "cleaning" was performed by a assistant which consisted of the polishing tool and floss. The flossing was so rough that it cut my gums in three places. The assistant even apologized once because of my flinching due to the pain. A series of X-rays were taken by the assistant and the dentist confirmed that everything looked normal. When the dentist did examine me, she removed very little plaque buildup and said everything was good. I left in pain and with bleeding gums. I have been going to the dentist for over 40 years and never had this to happen before. I will not be returning.

Negative experience: They are so weird here. I went in and everything was nice and I was waiting, and once the dentist looked at my teeth, they told me that I needed extensive cleaning. Which I am aware of and was expecting. However, when they told me that I would need this expensive cleaning I took a minute to think about if that is something that I could afford or would want to spend; now we are talking about an upwards of $2000. After sitting for a second and realizing that I didn’t think that would be a smart financial move at this time given I have a child and multiple other things to take care of, I had told them that I changed my mind Because I would be changing insurance soon, which is true. When I told them this, they had an attitude about it, but I brushed it off and asked if I could just get a regular cleaning instead as I had an event coming up they said they could not give me a regular cleaning because it would not help me. They also said That they cannot determine how many cavities I have until they clean my teeth (which would cost $800) which I am aware that I need my teeth cleaned however, my teeth were not rotting out of my mouth to the point that she couldn’t tell if there was a cavity or not I have never heard that in my life. I would not recommend anyone to go here. It’s very pressurized. It’s very money driven. I would take my business somewhere else as I just left that office, discouraged, disappointed, and even more insecure about going to the dentist. Edit: ended up going to Lakeside Dental in Lenoir City. AMAZING service. They also have membership plans for people who do not have insurance (just in case anyone reads this review). They said I don’t have periodontal disease. Periodontal disease is bone loss AND gum loss. I have literally no major bone loss only spots with very very very minimal. They didn’t try to sell me off a root and scaling as it wasn’t necessary. They cleaned my teeth. Did a different type of laser treatment and scheduled me for fillings. A dentist can look at an xray and tell there is no periodontal disease. A dentist can look and see if a root and scaling is even necessary. This just furthers the case that nobody should be going to oak ridge smiles.

Fantastic experience: Literally the best dentist office been to. They’re always really kind and helpful. I’ve had teeth pulled and a root canal done here and they made it all a breeze. Kiki and Stephany are awesome

Fantastic experience: Feb 2026 update: STILL IN LOVE WITH OAK RIDGE SMILES. I tried to write a new, current review for the outstanding visit for cleaning with Stephanie and KeeKee, and a consult with Dr Julia Francois because of a concerning spot in my jaw line ( following excellent preventive crown and bridge work . Stephanie is magnificent. Everyone in this office is! And they all SMILE so warmly when they greet you. I have never felt so confident in my oral health that caring professionals are attentively and proactively keeping me safe and with the most beautiful smile possible. Love this office! OMG. What a wonderful office and entire staff! From the moment I called, walked into the office for an emergency appointment (!same day!) I was welcomed with warmth and efficiency, happy helpfulness , and thoroughness. The appointment call was easy to make and handled so expertly and compassionately. Kiki ( X-ray and dental tech) was just a treat, calmed my nerves and with expertise and laughs maneuvered difficult spaces. Kiki, and then Dr Kim ( and all else I spoke to), heard and understood problems I had a too long unresolved history finding any solution and voila! SOLVED it ALL!! I love Dr. Kim— he has such a gentle touch, a wealth of knowledge and understanding, and grasped my problem and my needs quickly and expertly defined my needs and explained a plan for immediate resolution and the future, and NOTHING HURT! Another dental expert (tall) and her assistant (both so personable) repaired the chip in my front tooth with perfection and speed and it is more beautiful than before! Such nice and kind personnel everywhere, from administration, first contact through the actual dentist/ techs , everyone, in every position… I wish I knew all names. I am actually looking forward to my next visit and sitting in a dentist chair! I definitely left with a smile— a prettier, healthier smile! I trust OAK RIDGE SMILES DENTISTRY to preserve and maintain my health and my smile with confidence. Thank you.

Fantastic experience: We loved how through, informative, and caring they are ! We’re coming back for oral surgery for my husband and getting his dentures here ! They also have payment plans to help you pay for the cost over time. Bethany the front desk was very helpful in explaining the whole process from the beginning to the end. Madison was our assistant that helped us with the x-rays and getting us started. Dr. Francis was very knowledgeable about the process as well. They all made us feel comfortable and felt like we were at home

Bethany and Riley at the front really work with my questions in a positive and uplifting attitude. Great vibes that the office staff enjoys their time working at this office. Fantastic experience: I don’t usually say this about dental work, but this was actually a great experience Dr. Francois did my numbing and the work today and she was awesome — super laid-back, very caring, and had me numb in two shots like a magician. Not that “can’t feel your face until next Tuesday” numb either — just right. Whole procedure was smooth and completely pain-free. Riley at the front desk handled the pricing talk like a champ. I still think it’s funny they sent in the sweet, innocent, bunny-rabbit-energy blonde to deliver the high number — smart strategy honestly Madison, the assistant, was great too — calm, friendly, and on point the whole time. Overall: professional, kind, efficient, and somehow made getting dental work feel like being taken care of by friends instead of strangers with sharp tools. 10/10, would get numbed again.

Fantastic experience: I was in a great deal of pain. I cracked my tooth all the way down. I was very fortunate that day. I did not have a dentist. Dr. Kim and his team welcomed me & went to work on me. It’s not often you run across someone as passionate about what she does as Marissa. She is a registered dental assistant, and honestly I think she needs to go to Dental school to become a dentist. She is highly knowledgeable, professional, and compassionate. She is a student of her craft and will probably always be a student because she loves to learn. I see great things ahead of her. She should be a teacher in dental assistant school and workshops for those in her profession. Dr. Kim is a great man. He was very professional. He took the time to explain things to me in a way that I can understand. This doctor strives for excellence in all that he does. It’s amazing how far technology has progressed. They can now scan your teeth and create a temporary bridge on site and is much more stable than the temporary flimsy crown I got 20 years ago in Florida. Marissa did a great job with color matching my teeth for the permanent bridge. I could not get over how real the new bridge looked. Dr. Kim did an outstanding job! As I’ve stated previously, it is amazing how far technology has progressed in the dental arts. This clinic is equipped with state of the art equipment. This place is worth your time and customer loyalty. Bethany, the office manager, has an outstanding team. They are very professional & courteous. I did not realize it, but I had really crappy insurance. I am in the process of getting better dental coverage from another insurance company. With my insurance company I felt like Charlie Brown trying to kick the football and Lucy being the insurance company. I was once a property and casualty insurance adjuster and also an agent. To my shame, I did not read the policy contract. I have had much better dental insurance in the past. I should’ve done my research. Priscilla, worked with me to develop a game plan to pay off what I owed. I felt like she was in my corner working for me passionately. I cannot tell you how grateful I am for Bethany and Priscilla! 01/05/2026 visit: Kiki was highly professional, relatable, and detail oriented. She did the initial x-rays and cleaning. Overall, I received outstanding service from her. I found Dr. François very competent, knowledgeable, and professional. She has great bedside manner.

Negative experience: I've been going there for a few years, and always thought they did a good job, but I guess they have gotten too popular. I called to make an appointment for a checkup and they don't have slots available for 7 months! Guess I'll be looking for someone new.

Dr. Francois is very kind, listens, and advises for treatment without it feeling pushy. Their technology is all up to date and I felt well taken care of walking out of the office!

Negative experience: Went to have a crown put back on and it fell off 4 hours later. I call and they can’t get me in for another week for something they messed up. Don’t waste your money.

Negative experience: Very disappointed in my whole experience. I made an appointment for a consultation and they did way more then I asked for. Also signed me up for this ridiculous loan company with 30% interest. I was told I had until the procedure to decide if I wanted to use their loan company. I called and cancelled the loan and call the dentist office and told them I wanted to pay out of pocket and use my discover card for the rest. They changed my 1st appointment. My second appointment they cancelled saying they could not reach me, but I had NO missed calls from them. They also took part of the loan money and now I'm stuck paying the balance. I have cancelled my appointment all together. I don't see how they have the right to take money out of my bank account 2 weeks in a row and not even have my permission. Would not use this place. They will take your money before they even do anything.

Fantastic experience: I’m writing this review not just because Bethany asked me to, as I heard her ask multiple people saying "this is how they find new patients", but because I genuinely left her office feeling seen, respected, and cared for in a way that moved me deeply. When I arrived, Bethany helped me with the e-check-in process. I'm currently transitioning , and without hesitation, she asked me what name I’d like to be called—not just my legal name, but the name that feels like ME. She also asked for my preferred pronouns and gently explained, “I just want to make sure you feel comfortable, and that everyone feels welcome here and I do not know if I do not ask.” It might seem like a small gesture to some, but to me, it meant everything. In a world where I often have to explain or defend who I am, Bethany made it clear that I didn’t have to do that here. I was simply welcomed—fully and without question. If you’re looking for more than just a dental office—if you’re looking for a place where kindness is real, and where who you are truly matters—go see Bethany at Oak Ridge Smiles. She reminded me that compassion still exists in this world, and for that, I’m incredibly grateful.

Fantastic experience: If I could give this place 10 stars, I absolutely would! Bethany scheduled my appointment, and when I came in, I found out she’s the manager — and one of the kindest people you’ll ever meet. While I waited, she took the time to chat and get to know me. (Bonus: she's a fellow Swiftie, which made my day!) Dr. François was incredibly encouraging and even brought me back to the exam room herself — something I'm definitely not used to at a dental office. The whole place has such a warm, family vibe. Everyone gets along, and the energy is so positive. It’s honestly fun to be there, which is not something I ever thought I’d say about going to the dentist! I can’t wait for my six-month check-up.

Fantastic experience: Hands down, this is the best place in Oak Ridge! The staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming. Dr. Francois always makes sure that the work I need done doesn’t feel overwhelming, and we take it one step at a time. Every time I visit, Bethany is there to help with the financial side of things. There have been times when I wasn’t sure how I was going to afford the care I needed to get out of pain, but she always finds a way to make it work, so I can afford. Keekee and Marissa is always by my side during procedures, making sure I’m comfortable and even bringing me warm blankets. The level of care here is exceptional. But overall, the team is amazing and truly makes a difference in my care. Highly recommend to anyone. They will find a way to make you feel at ease in a place that many do not feel at ease at.

Fantastic experience: Great dental care and quick too! Dr Sisson and his assistant, Marie were great with me. I am a total wimp when it comes to dental stuff and they were very patient with me. Also, dental assistant Achiya was so helpful and calming.

Fantastic experience: My family and I have been coming to Oak Ridge Smiles since 2017 and I highly recommend! We are always greeted warmly by Tisa at the reception desk and she makes the process completely hassle free by anticipating needs whether they be insurance related, financial or appointments! Dr. Kim is warm and takes his time during appointments. He really listens and is always happy to answer any and all of mine and my husbands questions. I really appreciate the consistency in dental care and overall customer service my family experiences at this dentist office.

Fantastic experience: Tisa is amazing! On the phone or in person, she is ALWAYS friendly. She is very knowledgeable about all processes. Every person that came in the door while I was there, she checked them in without them saying a word. She makes everyone feel like she knows them and looks forward to seeing them. I look forward to seeing her smile and hearing “I’ve got you all checks in Ms. Trudy” at each visit. She’s a gem!

Fantastic experience: Bethany is wonderful. I’ve dealt with her 7 years and I bring her goodies because she’s so wonderful. Is kind and talks to me step by step and calls just to check on me. Works around my schedule and takes legit care of me. Dr Francois does good work and am comfortable with her. And keekee is always right by my side holding my hand.

Bethany, the office manager (and the same person who scheduled my appointment), greeted me and helped with my paperwork — but what really stood out was that she sat and talked with me while I waited, just about life. What kind of office manager does that? One who truly cares. Dr. Julia was amazing as well. She took her time with my exam, explained why my tooth couldn’t be saved, and walked me through all the replacement options. I never felt rushed or like I was “just another patient.” She made me feel heard and valued. Bethany came back in afterward to go over the cost and reassured me there was no pressure — and she meant it. She told me she treats every patient like it’s her own papaw in the chair, and honestly, you can feel that kind of care from both her and Dr. Julia. I left feeling like I’d just joined a family. I’m actually looking forward to my next visit. Highly recommend Oak Ridge Smiles to anyone looking for kind, honest, and compassionate dental care.
