Fantastic experience: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I’ve had a great experience at Atlantic Family Dental, and I especially want to mention Frankie. She is honestly the best dental hygienist I’ve ever had! She’s incredibly gentle and careful, making the entire cleaning completely painless. You can really tell she enjoys what she does and genuinely cares about her patients. I truly appreciate her attention to detail and the way she makes every visit so comfortable. Highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: Great staff. Quick check-in and no waiting when I arrived. Val the Hygienist was friendly, did a good cleaning, and provided useful dental hygiene ideas. The dentist Dr. Meng-Haggerty was prompt and spotted a cavity then explained my options. The front desk schedule my apt for the next day. They also did a great job with my 5 year old son and 3 year old daughter. Very patient and knew how to work with kids. The dentist did a great job on the filling. It was quick and painless. She had a good sense of humor. Overall very positive experience and will be back for 6 month check up.

Negative experience: I am very disappointed with the billing practices at the Atlantic Family Dental Apex office. I repeatedly informed the office that I had my primary insurance and my secondary insurance, and I was consistently told that my periodontal maintenance visits would be covered. Only at my most recent visit was I suddenly told that the services were not covered and that I would have to pay. I then received a bill for approximately $275 that did not clearly show the dates of service, procedure codes, insurance payments or denials, or how the balance was calculated. It simply requested payment. I have asked management for a complete itemized ledger, copies of the claims and EOBs, and an explanation of why I was assured of coverage before treatment but told otherwise afterward. I will update this review if management resolves the issue fairly and transparently.

Negative experience: ★☆☆☆☆ I am extremely disappointed with my experience at this office. My 17-year-old daughter was referred for treatment of a front tooth that may require a root canal. We were paying out of pocket and were prepared to move forward with treatment. The day before the appointment I became unexpectedly ill and sent a text message requesting to reschedule. The message was never answered. The following day I called the office as soon as I was able and explained that I had only become sick the day before. I asked if the appointment could be moved to another day that same week. Instead of showing any flexibility or understanding, I was told that I should have given 48 hours’ notice, even though I was not sick 48 hours earlier. I was then informed that because I had previously rescheduled an appointment, my daughter would no longer be accepted as a patient and all future treatment would be cancelled. What makes this even more troubling is that my daughter does not speak English fluently and relies on me to help communicate important medical information and treatment decisions. During our visits I felt that my involvement in her care was treated as an inconvenience rather than a necessity, despite the obvious language barrier. My daughter needs dental treatment, and we were fully prepared to pay for it. Illness is not something that can be predicted two days in advance. Dismissing a patient who needs treatment because a parent became sick the day before an appointment shows a lack of compassion, understanding, and patient-centered care. I understand that offices have cancellation policies. However, permanently refusing future treatment under these circumstances was deeply disappointing and, in my opinion, unreasonable. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend this office. Update: After my original review, the office sent me a formal dismissal letter accusing me of making “aggressive verbal threats” toward their staff. However, the letter provides no explanation of what was supposedly said or done. I have requested that they identify the specific statements or actions supporting this serious allegation. I also want future patients to know that during one of my daughter’s appointments, a dental assistant appeared visibly ill, repeatedly coughing and with a runny nose while assisting in treatment. My daughter’s mouth was open during the procedure, and I had to ask the assistant not to cough toward her. Only after I raised my concern did the assistant put on additional face protection. This experience left me concerned about the office’s infection-control practices and overall professionalism.

Fantastic experience: Found Atlantic Family Dental when looking for new dentist for my elderly mother who’s last dentist moved out of area. She also receives government assistance. First of all this was the only provider listed on her plan who actually accepted patients over the age of 17 through government assistance or was correctly listed to accept such benefits. We were greeted upon entry and only waited maybe 6 minutes before she was called back. The Initial visit was around 45 minutes to get new images etc and develop detailed plan of treatment. We returned the next week to move forward with treatment. When The hygienist came out to get my mom she let me know what the plan for the day would be and they would let me know if anything changed. After treatment my mom surprisingly didn’t have any pain. We are briefed at end of each visit and we greatly appreciate their professionalism and great care. So far they have made our experience well worth the hour drive.

Negative experience: Of all the dentists I have seen in my lifetime, this place ranks absolute WORST! Chunky, scratchy, fillings (2 fillings with visible hollow spots and my front teeth feel like sand paper) that made it impossible to floss, and when she drilled too deep into a molar that didn't previously hurt and caused an abscess, they shrugged it off. It was near impossible to get any kind of pain relief and antibiotics. I found another dentist about a week after my last treatment at AFD and he has since fixed all (and there were many) of the mistakes that were made. Oh, and I'm STILL waiting for the rest of my records that were requested in August. Save yourself a future headache and go ANYWHERE else. Zero stars

Fantastic experience: I brought my brother in for his dental appointment. He’s blind and has special needs, and we were having trouble getting a photo of his teeth. Alnisa stepped in and was so patient, gentle, and kind. She made both of us feel comfortable during a stressful moment. Fantastic experience: had an excellent experience at this dental office. From the moment I arrived, José and Idalia at the front desk welcomed me with kindness and professionalism, answering all my questions with care. Dr. Park is extremely professional, explaining each step clearly and making me feel very confident. Frankie, the hygienist, was wonderful—very gentle, thorough, and attentive. The dental assistants were also caring and professional, making the whole process comfortable and stress-free. The entire team truly works with dedication and a human touch, which makes all the difference. I highly recommend this dental office 100%.

Negative experience: So unprofessional. Went in and was diagnosed with gingivitis with no medication or treatment. Fillings cut my tongue for weeks and was told nothing would be done. Not to mention going to another office for care and the receptionist taking 30 minutes to send over X-rays for an emergency care visit. Then hanging up on me mid sentence when I called to check in. Poor quality care and people here.

Fantastic experience: I usually don't do reviews but I just had too...Ive needed dental work done for forever...and every dentist around me wasn't takin appointments for atleast months away...my friend told me to venture out towards her in Raleigh so I googled..i came across Atlantic...called and got an appointment the next week..it's like almost an a hour and a half away but I really needed to get in some where and I'm really glad I did...The whole staff is amazing..super friendly and professional... especially Frankie...she really helped me get thru the whole process I hate the dentist office and she really put me at ease and talked me thru the procedures and my options..and she really does a good cleaning too...I love this place and I'm making it my forever dentist

The evaluations are meticulous, with modern equipment and highly qualified personnel. I appreciate the empathy with the patient in areas such as: the detailed explanation of the diagnoses and treatments, help with the language and written breakdown of the cost of each service.

Fantastic experience: I walked in without an appointment and was told the earliest appointment was 3 hours later. While filling out paperwork, they had an opening in 10 minutes. I arrived at 11:15 and left at noon. That is the shortest doctor visit I ever had.

Negative experience: Last time I was at this dentist office is when it was Lecann. I am now getting a bill from Atlantic with no date or description of service. I call the number provided on the bill but it goes to an operator that takes your details and says someone will call you back. After 5 calls in a months timeframe no one has called back. They can’t call back but they can continue to mail out a bill that has no details of what it is for. Horrible customer service. Much better when it was Lecann

Negative experience: My last visit to this dentist office was in May 2022. I was never treated by the dentist who is the current owner - Robert Eisberg DDS. I have dental insruance and paid $30 out of pocket on the day of my visit in May 2022. Insurance claim documents confirm my patient obligation was $0, meaning I shouldn't have had to pay at all on the date of treatment.Today (2/6/2024), I received a bill for $98 stating that it was more than 90 days past due, demanding immediate payment, and threatening collections. The office could not tell me what the invoice was for, or why it was being sent 2 years after my visit. This is not a legitimate invoice and I owe nothing to this dentist. Many people would have just paid without question. If they've done this to me, they've done this to others. Beware.

Fantastic experience: My experiences at Atlantic Dentistry are usually very pleasant. The people at the front desk are polite and helpful. Negative experience: Worst dentist's office I've ever visited. They pushed unnecessary services from the moment I arrived. The hygienist was rude. Then they claimed I needed six fillings and four extractions... I take care of my teeth and visit a dentist every six months, so I was confused and skeptical. My old dentist confirmed the treatment plan was unwarranted. I would strongly recommend going elsewhere.

Negative experience: Very Unprofessional Office manager Natalia and never dealing with this type of service again. We have lots of choices for a Dentist and I was a long term client. This Dentist will recommend things that arent even needed so be careful . Not all Dentist are the same trust me and I felt that they were just out to get money and I diddnt get the same advice when I went to a more modern Dentisty office. The office manager was so rude calling me out over the phone and blaming me and stating that I have a track recordd of canceling and talked loudly over me after I tried to only cancel my cavaty filling. Not to mention they will tell you that you need to make a deposit for a crown or cavity? Really and the day of service just to add more stress to your life. They do have some nice Hygenist but thats about it! Stay clear

Fantastic experience: My last experience with LeCann Family Dentistry in Apex was above and beyond. I'm not usually a fan of the dentist just because... well, who is?! Instead of making me feel like a little kid who needs reminding to brush my teeth, they asked easy questions, complimented me on my oral hygiene, and gave suggestions as appropriate. It's been a tough year for everyone, but make an appointment now and get back to the dentist! Suan and Dr. Aukhil were kind, gentle, knowledgeable, and so nice. Same with the other staff.

They run their practice with the patience 100% in mind. they even worked with my finical limitations to help devise a dental plan that worked for me! The experience was perfect, they were so sweet and patient with her. They definitely made her feel comfortable and safe which eased my anxiety as well! Negative experience: Would leave no stars if I could, office is terrible and has no consideration or compassion for their patients. ESPECIALLY front desk. Don't take patients wishes into account as well as feel for their concerns. Do things without permission as well as charge for things not wanted. I informed that I would no longer be coming here as well as my entire family you have now lost service from, and will be letting as many family/friends know not to come here.... I had front desk specifically say to me to this comment "well thats your prerogative" ....to me thats pretty insensitive and shows they have no care for their patients.

Fantastic experience: I’m always nervous to go to the dentist, but I very quickly became comfortable at LeCann in Apex. From the friendly faces at the front desk to the gentle and caring work of the dentist and hygienist, I’ve never had as great an experience as I had here. What really stuck out for me was the obvious focus they had on educating me about taking care of my teeth and how to take steps to have an overall healthier mouth (all without any talking down or shaming - that I feel has been all too common in my past experiences). If you’re looking for a great practice with an incredibly friendly staff, look no further.

Fantastic experience: Had the BEST cleaning and check up EVER!!!! I saw a new lady for the cleaning. She explained areas that might cause a problem and how I could avoid them. My teeth and gums didn’t hurt when she finished! The dentist is careful to watch spots and not push for additional work to be done but at the same time she doesn’t let problems slide. She explains everything she does.

Positive experience: Everyone is great and treats you so nice at this office. You won't be sorry you chose to come to LeCann Family Denistry. They have a lot of patience with you no matter what issues you have going to a dentist. They have been my dentist for a long time!! Thanks fir the patience.

My kids had appointments on yesterday and they were impressed at how much the dentist caught on there first visit. They immediately came home and began their new regiments. Negative experience: Still Haunted after all these years... My nightmare with LeCann dentist started 3 years ago. I needed a filling and a crown. It was the worst most painful experience of my life! The dentist was a complete quack! When I complained to Dr. LeCann herself and asked her to take over and fix my treatment, she refused and sent me back to the quack that just loved to grind my teeth down for no reason! I immediately left and found a great dentist. Well, a few weeks ago - my LeCann crown just popped off while I was flossing. I gave Dr. Lecann the opportunity to see me and figure out what happened. She refused. So I had my new dentist rebond it (and of course they charged me). Then 2 weeks later, it popped off again. I needed a new crown now. One of the main reasons was because the quack dentist operating under the LeCann name ground the tooth receiving the crown at too much of a taper. The crown was not and could not be secured correctly. You know how much a crown costs and it was not cheap the first or second times. You don't get discounts for repeat procedures. The 3 years of my personal experiences with LeCann dentistry has been horrible. Even one star here is too much! If you decide to go here, save extra money because you'll need it to fix whatever they do to you in the near future! You've been warned!

Fantastic experience: Such a wonderful dental experience. The dental hygienist was so nice and experienced. She was able to educate and clean my teeth at the same time. The dentist was quite personable and made me feel at ease. Great atmosphere and professional service. That goodie bag don't hurt either!

Negative experience: I strongly Do Not recommend this Dentist. She made faulty denture for me and still charged me the full amount and won’t fix the denture. I couldn’t use that denture. Waste of time and money to go to this dentist.

Negative experience: Just not my kind of dentist office. I prefer an office where I know who I’m going to see, this is the second occasion I have been booked with a fill in due to a vacation without notice. The only reason I didn’t do one star is because I do actually really like the cleaning lady. She’s very nice, remembers me and does a very thorough job.

Negative experience: I was happy with my cleaning here, and the dentist was nice but I decided to leave this practice. They were very pushy about receiving extra x-rays (panoramic) for "screening". I had no symptoms so I felt this was unnecessary for routine screening purposes. I am a healthy person with no cavities and no smoking history. I even tried looking this up online and cannot find that this is a recommendation. The dentist and the hygienist were both pushy about this even when I politely declined. It seemed like they were just trying to get extra revenue. I won't be back.

Fantastic experience: Apex Family Dentistry has been our dentist for at least 12 years (formerly Dr. Landenberger). Today, Dr. Miller ("Nahal") replaced a filling from my childhood. She cared well for me through the process and explained her decisions as she went along. I'm grateful for her and all of those at Apex Family Dentistry.
