Fantastic experience: Love the staff at Royal Oak Dental. Kind, professional, and they took the time to teach and explain what was happening with my teeth and gums. They were also able to recommend a more specialized toothpaste and mouthwash that will better suit my needs. Grace was my hygienist:) Thorough, gentle and very kind.

Positive experience: Dentistry (cleaning) experience was great. But had issues with incorrect statements on insurance coverages. I was told X Rays was all covered without they putting effort to validate if it is really covered and I was given a bill of $152 because it was not due to a previous X Ray done earlier that year. I think by process it should be confirmed for any treatment including X Rays.

I was a little nervous because i hadn’t been in so long but she took her time to explain things to me and also checked in with me a lot during the cleaning to make sure i wasn’t experiencing any discomfort. Fantastic experience: It’s always a great experience visiting Royal Oak. I had the pleasure of having my teeth cleaned by Grace and she did a wonderful job. Doctor Macintosh did my check up and has great chair side manor. I already scheduled my next appointment and look forward to another excellent experience.

Negative experience: Unaware of the canceled appointment fee, i actually tried to resolve it, as i moved from another dental group and moved my whole family here, there might have been a misunderstanding, i do not have reminder for the day mentioned / missed. I did ask to have this looked over by the manager few months back and adjusted as it happened once. I never got a call back. Also my upcoming appointment got canceled by the dentist for whatever reason, but that doesn't seam to be important. I really hope the manager can resolve this and reverse the charge as we are a new family to this group.

My quick back story, I was never taken to a dentist when I was a child so I have an extreme phobia of dental work. Now that I can financially afford certain work I chose to come here. I am so thankful for everyone who works here, from reception to the dentists but especially Mrs Grace who was so careful with my fears and my cleaning. That woman is an angel, stopping every few minutes to check on me. I was so glad I didn't reschedule (out of fear) she is the exact kind of person who should be assigned to all patients with anxiety of the dentist. She went above and beyond for me on Monday. Took the time to explain everything she would be doing and asked me to raise my hand anytime I needed a minute which for once I didn't need lol. IDK) went a little out of her way to help me get sorted and scheduled, and throughout my whole procedure I definitely felt like my tooth was the priority and Dr Chidester and his assistant Lauren did such a good job making sure I understood what was going on and were mindful of my extra sensitivity. Negative experience: Dental team, Dr. Smith 5/5. Billing department manager 0/5. Management is non existent in this office. Instead of do assigned job and work with the insurance company or send bill to the patient they sent bill right to collection. No phone calls returned, no communications, nothing... Well, good luck. Strange decision to lose some serious revenue and 3 patients. I can’t believe how quickly useless people destroying great achievements. 5+ years customer.

Negative experience: My family and I have worked with them for years, and the actual care provided by Dr. Smith and the broader hygienist team is top-notch. However, detracting from that is what I can only characterize in my view as an incredibly dysfunctional back-office function that is so disruptive as to detract meaningfully from the overall level of care. Through my time with Royal Oak Dental I've encountered erroneous billings, a series of inaccurate estimates, unanswered voicemails, different answers to the same question from different team members, but most importantly repeated scheduling issues. From an outsider's perspective, it appears to me that their team doesn't communicate well internally or timely which then bleeds through into the patient experience. I spend more time dealing with shenanigans from this provider than every other one we use *combined*. The breaking point for me personally is Royal Oak's policy that they charge for cancellations less than 24 hours before but then have repeatedly cancelled on me with that same inadequate notice. As I shared with them - I think it's unconscionable to have a policy that clients are meant to adhere to but they can't show the same basic courtesy and respect in turn. With a toddler who is comfortable in their office setting I may well have to grit my teeth and stick with them in lieu of finding other options, but I cannot recommend others start there until they can get their back-office function communicating with each other and their patients clearly and timely. 5/5 for Dr. Smith and the care, -3/5 for the administrative nightmare.

It starts immediately when you walk in the door. The charge for routine cleaning and other services is reasonable especially when you consider the detail and high technology used to treat the patients there. I will not go anywhere else. Again, I am extremely happy.

Fantastic experience: I've been going to Royal Oak in Cary now for 2 years. They've done exams, cleaning, extraction, crown, and partial. In short, excellent on all counts from moment you walk in to follow up. Rilke and Brenda do all patient coordination and are pleasant and professional. We had some minor issues with insurance claims and Brenda dealt with it with no pressure on us. Dani is my hygienist and she is very good to work with. Easy going and careful yet thorough. Dr. Smith has done all my dental work and I have absolutely zero complaints. Sharon Molden has assisted and is also very good to work with. I was a high anxiety patient due to teeth sensitivity and some painful experiences. They managed that very well. A little nitrous and easy going people that don't rush you. They'll also put you to sleep if you want. I actually prefer being awake with them. I have no problems going there and don't think twice about it anymore. They're good people. So if you're concern is fear of dental work. Don't. Get it done. They'll help you.

Negative experience: I was there for a sensitive tooth. After just couple of x-ray and less than 5 minutes Dr Ansari rudely told me that I needed a root canal and 2 crowns; immediately after a lady in “sales” explained me how critical my diagnostic was. Their main focus is pressure the patient to charge you with high-priced procedures, they don’t want small jobs. As soon as I questioned their quote, she then changed her tone and told me “good luck getting this cheaper”, well I did, I found out I was misdiagnosed by Dr Ansari. The other practice I visited was able to repair my tooth for a small fraction of what this Royal Oaks was charging me. Simple but caring recommendations from the other place, like changing to sensitivity toothpaste helped a lot, a truly professional dentist. Before leaving their office I asked how much was the visit, and sales lady told me my insurance was covering it. I just received an additional bill almost four months later. I guess they realized it wasn’t enough with what they billed my insurance.

Negative experience: This review is tough for me to leave, as the desk staff and nurses have always been amazing. HOWEVER, my old dentist (who was the best dentist my family has ever had) left the company. Now, I was pushed by Dr. Ansari to get cavities filled, even though they were not causing any pain. She butchered the job. She left filler all over the adjacent teeth, and did not properly remove it even after I pointed it out. She managed to improperly bond one of my fillings that ended up nearly falling out less than 3 hours after the operation when I put my Invisalign back in. I cannot begin to fathom how she still has her job and title of doctor.

Fantastic experience: Lynn is the only hygienist I trust with my teeth! After one experience with her I moved my entire family from another provider. She is a perfectionist and I could not be more pleased.

I have been a patient there for years (when it was first Dr. McKissick’s practice) and my visits are always positive ones. I request Lynn as my hygienist. She has a friendly mannerism and gives thorough cleanings. Dr. Ansari completed my exam today, and I felt very comfortable with her expertise. The office is beautiful, and they really do treat you like family.

Fantastic experience: I had an implant become dislodged and pop out late in the day. I called the emergency line after their hours and was able to speak with a dentist, Dr. Smith. He walked me through the issue and set up an appointment for early the next day. During the visit, he stabilized the area, discussed the issue, the options, and put together a schedule for appointments to fix the problem. Overall I was impressed with his and his team's responsiveness, knowledge, insight, and professionalism,

Fantastic experience: AMAZING DENTAL OFFICE!!! Dr. Ansari is amazing!! Very kind and takes the time to explain and answer any questions! Her dental assistant Kayla is amazing too! Always very friendly and helpful!! Their front office staff is also amazing! Brenda who works at the front desk is always very friendly and helpful too!! Definitely would recommend this dental office!

Fantastic experience: I have been going to this office for roughly 8 years and have yet to have a bad experience. Everyone in their office is friendly and welcoming. Most importantly, I TRUST the dentists here to only recommend necessary treatment plans while still not allowing a potential problem area to get worse. Dr. Ansari and Kayla were a great team today, their professional demeanor balanced with an appropriate amount of friendliness is hard to match.

Fantastic experience: I had an appointment today. Dr. Smith and the staff were amazing. Unfortunately I had a previous encounter with them and was not satisfied. When Cornerstone found out about my dissatisfaction they reached out to bring resolution to the issue. The way a company handles not so happy customers speaks volume. They did an amazing job and I would highly recommend. They proved to me they they care about their patients and they delivered superior care. I had a long and intricate procedure done today and they were absolutely phenomenal.

Fantastic experience: These guys are great they are patient and kind and do a fabulous job of looking after somebody that would hate a dentist office no matter what they did. So if you are afraid or hate going to the dentist office this is the place to go. I love Dr Smith even though he is a dentist. He even plays Pokemon with his kids.
