Negative experience: Very disappointed with how this office handles appointments. I waited three months for my appointment, only for the dentist to cancel one week before it. They then rescheduled me for another two months later and canceled that appointment too. After waiting nearly five months altogether, I still haven’t been seen. I understand emergencies happen, but canceling twice and expecting a patient to keep waiting months is unprofessional and shows no respect for their time. I would not recommend this office if you need dependable dental care.

Fantastic experience: I remain satisfied with the quality dental care that Garden State Dental provides. They are timely in tending to clients; the staff, overall, is professional, experienced and engaging; and they tend to be attentive to any and all questions and concerns I have, providing me with answers and information that are correct as well as understandable. During my most recent visit, I underwent a dental cleaning. It was a little a little more intensive but well done; and after assessing my gums, the dental hygienist advised that a dental deep cleaning needed to be done; and arrangements for the procedure would be secured after contacting my dental insurance carrier. Once again, I was very pleased, impressed and satisfied with the service I received as I found It to be thorough overall; and the appointment was completed in a timely manner. Based on the service I have been receiving thus far, I would recommend this dental practice to family and friends for their dental care.

Negative experience: I am one who takes pride in her teeth but unfortunately has had to change dentists over the years due to various insurance reasons. I am extremely disappointed by my experience at this facility. First, I have NEVER not had an exam and cleaning in the same visit. Apparently at this establishment, new patients only get an exam during the initial visit. Another appointment must be scheduled for a cleaning. This was not communicated when I changed to this office and made an appointment. At my exam on 5/4, it was determined by Dr. Parker that I had a cavity which came as a surprise, but she was kind enough to go over my X-rays and explain. Therefore, I made an appointment for today, 5/13 to get the cleaning and filling done. As Dr. Parker began the anesthesia, I inquired about a poster on early cavities to see if I would be a candidate. She shared that my information had not been written in my chart on my last visit. UNACCEPTABLE! I then asked Dr. Parker if she would be doing my cleaning after the filling because I thought that order was strange. She responded that she was only doing the filling and the hygienist does the cleaning. Dr. Parker then looked on the schedule and told me that I was not scheduled for a cleaning and that I should speak with the front desk. After my filling was complete, I went to the front desk and explained that I also came in for a cleaning but I apparently was not on the schedule. The receptionist nonchalantly told me it was because they do not have any cleaning appointments available. I asked when the next availability was and she responded JANUARY. Even with me saying this was not communicated when I made my second appointment, the demeanor and tone exuded a lack of regret or concern. There is absolutely no reason why I did not know at my initial booking that multiple appointments would be necessary and there was no availability for a routine cleaning until the next year. The lack of clear communication at Garden State Dental of Roselle Park is deplorable and they should be ashamed of themselves for treating patients this way.

The hygienist is fabulous and takes great care of my teeth and works in tandem with the dentist for further care. Dr. Parker and Karina are wonderful and friendly. You can't go wrong going to this office. Great people, great service. Always a pleasure going to this office.

Negative experience: I canceled work to come into the office for my appointment, only to be told that I couldn’t receive treatment that day. This is something they could have easily told me when they called the day before. Couldn’t be more upset and frustrated with this clinic.

Fantastic experience: Very warm experience! It was my first time seeing Dr. Parker, and I’m so glad it went well because I’ve been looking for a new dentist. She was so attentive and checked on me several times throughout my procedure to make sure I was comfortable. Overall, everyone I interacted with during my visit was incredibly pleasant.

Negative experience: I was treated in a way that felt completely dehumanizing. The dental hygienist showed little regard for my comfort or dignity, and the overall experience was shockingly unprofessional, to the point that I had to run away in the middle of the procedure shaken, half of my mouth numb and spilling blood. The weeks before I got my first visit to this dental office and it was delightful I had a great encounter with the person that took my xray and dentist.The dental hygienist handled the procedure with unnecessary roughness, ignored my attempts to communicate discomfort, and spoke to me in a dismissive tone. At one point, I genuinely felt more like an object being worked on than a patient receiving care. I hope nobody has to go through a cruel, barbarian situation as the one I lived at that place.

The entire staff from the front desk, hygienists, dentists, and the whole rest of the team are friendly and helpful. I would recommend this place to anyone.

Negative experience: To my knowledge there were only two dentists at the East Brunswick location. I had an unpleasant experience at Garden State Dental East Brunswick and expressed my concerns about the dentist who just happens to be a woman. The short version is she attempted to extract a tooth and was unsuccessful. She cracked and chipped the tooth badly. One the Novocain subsided I was in pain thee entire weekend. I submitted a review and asked them to never give me her again. My next visit I specifically asked for the male dentist due to me not knowing either of their names and they gave me her yet again. Fast forward to the present I scheduled my next appointment for the Roselle Park location and a receptionist texted me saying they were made aware I wanted a male dentist due. I did not specify that with the east Brunswick location. The tech who attempted to take my X-rays acted impatiently and made feel like she really didn’t want to help me. The dentist seemed frustrated and still tried to be professional but both of their energies was just giving off annoyed vibes. I hope I’m wrong and if I am then forgive me.

Everyone at Dr Conti’s office are so nice and very professional, it is always a pleasant experience. I have referred friends to his practice and they feel the same way as l do. Negative experience: Please do not waste your time. That this office has 4.4 rating would be mind boggling, except for the fact that they ask you not to post a negative review but let them know. Well, I'd like to do both because my time was wasted, and while I did let them know they wasted my time, it's still not something I can get back. I would not recommend this place. For my initial visit my daughter and I got x-rays and shown what needed to be done. That was it. When I asked when I could schedule a cleaning, I was told they were booking in March 2026. We're in August and I'd have to 7 months to get my teeth cleaned. Had I been made aware of this kind of backlog when I booked my appointment in July, I would have gone with another dentist. I've never had such an infuriating experience. My job isn't one where I just can't take days off. So when I do, I don't expect my time to wasted! If you're a new patient and need a cleaning, I implore you go somewhere else...unless you have time to waste and 7 months to wait.

Negative experience: My appointment was at 10am, as I type this it's 10:46 and counting, I'm still waiting.. I'm already somewhat put off due to the forms that they asked me to sign. One stating it's not their fault if they leave dental tools inside my body? They also made me sign a form saying I received a HIPAA document that I told them they never gave me, they said they don't have it and tried to verbally explain what it is? Who does that? I manage a business, and albeit in a different field, this feels like a place that shirks culpability... While sitting here in the waiting room decided to check their reviews... Im only left with further dismay. A business is only as good as their negative reviews, and this place has some scary ones.. On another note the front desk staff was affable and I have no complaints thus far outside of not receiving the paperwork that they have to provide by law..lol I got called in at 10:52, Dr Parker came in the room at 11:03. After asking me a few questions she concluded that I couldn't receive service because of a back surgery I had in 2021, it would seem to me that maybe they could've asked that on the hundred question questionnaire or 5 pages of paperwork..lol Now I have to waste more time getting clearances from my old back doctor so that I can get treated here, again just seems like the waste of time could have been avoided if they asked any of these questions up front, but then I guess they wouldn't get paid for an office visit..smdh Dr Parker wasn't derogatory, but she can definitely grow her bedside manner as she comes off short tempered. I asked for clarification on which Dr I need the aforementioned clearance from, the back Dr or my general Dr and she answered as if I asked her for money All in all an unpleasant experience, and when I was at the front desk waiting for the clearance paperwork I again asked the lady at the desk for the HIPAA paperwork that they made me sign saying I received, she gave me a blank look and said nothing til I just decided to leave. Negative experience: Such an awful experience with my first visit at this practice. I called to schedule an appointment due to tooth that broke. I specifically told the receptionist thats why I need to be seen. I filled out the lengthy paperwork I received in a text and put my reason for the visit was having a broken tooth. Who knows if they even read these documents or if they will say that my reason was not ever mentioned. Mind you I have severe anxiety about going to the dentist especially new ones. Well the dental hygienist who seemed very unfriendly takes me to the room to get my dental work done. She says I'm here for a cleaning. I said I have a broken tooth. She ignored that and started the process of taking x-rays. Then she reiterated that I'm there for a cleaning. Yet again I comment I scheduled this visit due to a tooth that broke and I asked if it was infected. I even asked if I needed an antibiotic. She looked and said it wasn't and I dont need an antibiotic. Then she did the cleaning. This women is a very unpleasant person to work with. I know I need more work and I was crying over it. She just sat behind me without concern for that as if she wasn't even in the room. Then in comes Dr. Parker who I barely spoke with. She said everything I needed done and said nothing about the broken tooth. So I commented what about my broken tooth. She said very confused what broken tooth? So I pointed in my mouth and nothing at all was done about the broken tooth. I went to the desk in the waiting area where the not so professional receptionist blatantly broke the HIPPA violation by going over in great detail all the problems with my oral health all while another patient was in the waiting area clearly able to hear my personal medical business. I was scheduled for a follow-up appointment for over a week later. I said what do I do if I get an oral infection. She said don't worry you won't you'll be back before than. So I leave with my broken tooth not even being a focus. Two days later I ended up in the emergency room for a severe tooth infection and was prescribed an antibiotic. My sleep is not great due to the infection this negligent practice could have dealt with prior to me needing emergency services. So yes I'm not ever using this practice ever again. I plan to see someone who comes highly rated by others. As if having anxiety going to the dentist isn't difficult enough to get through now my anxiety is worse than ever. Obviously someone from this office will read this and want to discuss my complaint but there is no way having that conversation would make any of this better. My experience might not be the norm for people who utilize this office, but no one should ever have to experience what I did.

Negative experience: If youre a new patient, dont even bother. While I forgive the time waiting on the first day (their system was down) the utter lack of care and compassion I received by the dentist was awful. I came into the office for what I thought was a broken filling. X-ray lady was a little blunt, but fine overall. When the dentist came in I told her what I thought was going on. She decided a temp filling would be best, as apparently my wisdom tooth had broken. I told this dentist that I was in pain beforehand, but it was as if she didnt care and proceeded anyways, ultimately hurting my tooth as she installed the temp filling. Mind you, she gave me no recommendations to manage the pain. She told me id need a referral and a cleaning (I honestly thought I would get a cleaning this session, but apparently that person wasnt in). Overall, the vibes she gave off felt like she didnt even enjoy her job. Anyways, this sent that area of my mouth into excruciating pain for the rest of the day. I was taking 800mg of ibuprofen and 500mg of acetaminophen. On the next day, it got worse. I called them in the morning, telling them the meds i was taking and how they werent working. They found a spot they could squeeze me in (thank you, i appreciate this so much) and I hurried to the doctor at that time. At the office, there was no discussion of what was going to happen. Instead, once called I went into the room and it was decided that they were going to remove the temp filling...without even bothering to discuss this with me. Mind you, im in unbearable pain already, trying to keep it together, so I just want relief. They took the temp filling out...and still, no recommendations on how to manage the pain, no nothing. And once again, the doctor leaves. No questions on how I'm feeling, nothing. At this point, it made me feel like maybe cruelty is the point here. Afterwards I went home, thinking that yknow...maybe the issue is resolved. No. The pain had compounded. I couldnt even focus on my work. Myself and family called this place again, trying to reach them as I was in excruciating pain. When I finally got a hold of them, I was told to wait and theyd call back. I was already on the phone for about 15 or so minutes. I waited thirty more minutes before I called again, only to be met with instructions to come pick up the prescription slip right then. Why couldnt they have sent it to a pharmacy of my choosing, so I could go straight there? And why didnt they call me beforehand? Why did I have to call for them to give me an answer? Now, when I get to the office...I have to wait twenty minutes before I get the prescription. In that 20 minutes I'm there, I'm crying in pain (literally, my eyes were red and my face was wet with tears) while sitting in an office that now felt incredibly uncomfortable and inhumane. Never in my life have I been to a dentist that treated me with such callousness. I've had fillings and cleanings before, and none of them were painful and all the dentists were wonderful people that cared about their patients comfort. Here, especially then, I felt absolutely none of that. After this harrowing experience you'd think the prescription would work but did it? No. As I write this, waiting for the appointment I have already made with the other dental office to remove this damn tooth, I'm still in pain, with the only thing helping me (at least for 15 minutes before it hurts again) is clove oil...something i found out from googling. Something that could've been told to me at the office as an option. TLDR: This is the kind of experience that makes people afraid of going to the dentist. I came in because I knew something was wrong and I know how serious dental care is. I left in more pain than I started. Go somewhere else that will actually treat you like a human being worthy of care.

Negative experience: While I wasn’t the patient, I had to accompany one and what I witnessed was absolutely infuriating and terrifying. I have never seen a dental office treat someone with such a blatant lack of care or empathy. My friend went in because a filling had come out. Instead of actually addressing the issue, they slapped on a temporary filling that left her in agony. Then they had the audacity to call her back in, rip the filling out without a single explanation, and send her home again, still in excruciating pain. She spent hours after that writhing, crying, unable to eat, sleep, or work. It wasn’t until multiple people-- me, the patient, and her family-- hounded the office that they even agreed to see her again. Only then did they finally offer something for the pain, but by that point, the damage was already done. This place doesn’t care about patients, they don’t care if you’re suffering, and they certainly don’t care if they caused it. I’ve never had to watch someone I love go through so much avoidable pain because of such careless, cold treatment. And let’s talk about the dentist: completely dismissive. Didn’t even attempt to numb her despite her clearly saying she was in pain. Walked out of the room without a word like it was nothing. That’s not just unprofessional—that’s inhumane. If you value your health, your time, or the well-being of anyone you love—do not bring them here. They will leave worse than they came in and you'll be forced to watch your loved one in more pain than they have ever imagined.

Negative experience: UPDATE 1 YR LATER: Went to my new dentist again, had the most painless cleaning in years after leaving garden state dental (their hygienist made me cringe in pain & bleed every time) AND NO CAVITIES. My husband who has never had a cavity going on 29 years now and was told at this office he needed a filling a year ago, was also told by our new dentist that his teeth are perfect, AGAIN. I’ve never invested this much time into reviewing anything but feel literally traumatized. I prepared myself for bad news at my most recent visit to the dentist and had the most incredible relief to know even after a year of not getting a cleaning due to the pandemic my teeth are still healthy!!! Makes me regret all the other potentially unnecessary fillings and root canal I’ve had done while coming here. Jeopardizing my oral health! Shame. It’s not a coincidence that I’m not the only one who experienced this. Thankful I followed my gut instinct to leave this place. Be advised. UPDATE: I got promptly taken care of after this review thanks to Devita reaching out. I still feel strongly about my experience and opinion about this practice. ORIGINAL: I used to be happy with this location until it became the norm that every time I came for a routine cleaning I somehow had a cavity. After my last visit I was left a little skeptical but scheduled my filling anyways. (I was also never advised that perhaps I was cleaning wrong & needed to change my routine to avoid further decay, so I just blindly trusted them) The day of our filling appointment both my husband and I were sick so he called in & cancelled our appointments & advised we would call back in to reschedule. It was a busy December so we took a bit to reschedule & ended up receiving a bill for a cancellation fee. At this point I decided enough was enough especially after a year of billing issues that still haven’t been resolved & charging this fee knowing I was ill. I called in & spoke to the new front desk girl & this same girl is the one I never find a resolution with. I explained why we cancelled & she had no answer. I constantly ask to speak to Devita to just be told she’s on a conference call & that I’ll be getting a call back which I NEVER do. Who’s neglect is this!? I was always very happy with Devita’s attention. Call again same story no call back every time I ask to speak to her for the last several months even before this cancellation fee. At this point it’s like I’m being treated as a joke. Ultimately, after all of this we decided to find a new dentist & scheduled a second opinion. My new dentist let me know my teeth are perfectly fine, I just had a filling pop out a few days before (which I had done HERE) that he needed to fix & an old metal filling that needed replacing. (Which wasn’t brought to my attention by Dr. Parker) No new cavities! & he told me my root canal crown I got here was the CHEAP kind but wasn’t CHEAP in PRICE! My husband who also was scheduled for a filling (which he’s never had a cavity in his almost 28 years of life), received great news from the new dentist that his teeth are perfect!!!! NO CAVITIES. The new dentist even told him he’s trying to put him out of business because of how great his teeth look. So at this point it really makes me question! Not only am I unsatisfied with the treatment of the office staff but at this point I’m also questioning the dentists integrity. BOTH Nardozzi & Parker. If you decide to still give this place a chance, a word of advice - if you end up being told you owe a balance, wait until the insurance finalizes everything before paying a dime especially if it’s something you need to appeal. I paid ahead & got my appeal taken care of & they paid them out directly but I STILL have not seen my money be credited back to any other work or charges of these constant x-rays they do on you every time a YEAR later. But I definitely keep getting new bills though!! When I first became a patient they were big on “leave us a google review” with all smiles. Glad I waited. Shady business! BEWARE.

Negative experience: After 12 + years of being a loyal client , i can NO LONGER continue supporting. I was refused service after supposedly being late 10 minutes. Than NANCY the manager refused to refund my $160 credit on my account to my card. I can say ALOT MORE but i wont , I DO NOT owe any balance. Please give me my money back !!!

Fantastic experience: Did not have to wait in the waiting room long. Very friendly staff. Very clean environment well lit rooms. Doctor and hygienist was very attentive to my well-being and the health of my teeth.

Negative experience: First appointment I waited 45 minutes. second appointment I thought was going in for a cleaning, but it was just for exam and x-rays . I was told for cleaning there was nothing til August, 5 months later? When I looked up the practice they showed several providers. They told me they only had one. To me that's too long for an appointment. I will say the staff and dentist were friendly and nice

Negative experience: AVOID THIS PLACE. Total scam. Told me I had multiple cavities every time I visited (I'm talking 7-8 cavities every 6 months). Told me husband he had major gum issues. Finally went to a different dentist and neither of us had any cavities or gum issues. I regret ever going here and returning for as long as I did. This place is totally unethical performing procedures that aren't needed to bill insurance. They should be shut down!

Negative experience: After looking for a new dentist for months I finally came across this one. Was super excited for my first visit. However, the staff and Dr. Parker weren’t welcoming at all. Didn’t show any empathy or care for my concerns.They also don’t explain anything that was going on and when you ask questions that act as if you’re “bothering” them, respond with attitude or they’ll refer you to the front desk. However, the hygienist was nice. She introduced herself, answered the few questions I did have and explained the entire processed while doing my cleaning. Kudos to her.

Negative experience: Being a new patient to the office, I felt no warmth in the place. My first visit was ghost since there was no one at the reception desk to greet or welcome me until five or so minutes later. The office could use some warmth as it feels or appears alone and dry. The staff, not many, were not friendly or welcoming. As a new patient, I was the trying to make conversation to break the ice, but that went no where. Dr. Parker, initially appeared pleasant, but after my fourth visit, her pleasantry became dull and desolate. I can't say that the procedure she did was the best. Dr. Parker lacked sensibility and care since she did not seem to sympathize or empathize my discomfort while she performed my procedure. There was no communication to help me feel better or understand what was going on. To say the least, the office and staff could use some tender, love and care with the hope they'd understand and recognize to be reciprocal. On the last day of the year, during my procedure, there was not a warm good bye. Dr. Parker, after having been done with my procedure, just walked away from the treatment room. I wasn't sure she was done until the hygienist confirmed she was. As I walked out, I looked for her to greet her a Happy New Year, but she was not in sight. Hence, the reason why my comments. I do pray that this year, 2025, brings love, peace and joy to everyone, and particularly Dr. Parker and her staff since they're in a position to express that warmth, caring feeling we all need, especially when going into a treatment facility not many find comforting. The office atmosphere was pleasant, and the extremely professional staff had me in and out so that I could return to work in time. I would definitely recommend Garden State Dental to anyone looking for a Dental Office!

Fantastic experience: Great place for my teeth. Just a few minutes in a waiting room, checkup, Xray and cleaning, doctors checked out everything and half an hour later I was done. Quickly and painlessly. Covered all by my insurance so I’m happy. As a matter of fact I’m making the appointment for my spouse as well.

Positive experience: Garden State Dental Assoc. is my new place to go for my family’s dental care. My very first visit with my son went quite wrong as I was 10 min behind schedule due to going to their other location. 10 min is all you get for them to cancel your appointment as it turns out. Had to reschedule. My own appointment the following day went well. I had to fill out paperwork and was there for close to an hour before being seen. That 10 min they canceled my son’s appointment for paled in comparison to my wait so I inquired about it. “Why, if the paperwork had to be completed before being seen, would you cancel my son’s appointment?”, I asked. I had finished my paperwork and still waited to be called on. It was close to an hour. Most places give you 20 min before it’s a no go. They insisted that until paperwork is done you won’t be seen and 10 min is all you get. So, to my surprise, the following day for my daughter’s appointment, they called her up with two pages yet to complete. Yeah, I’m still miffed about my son’s cancellation over 10 min. Go figure! That was a 2 star reduction in my satisfaction rating. Reception staff was found to be a little cold by my wife. As for the dental staff, I give them a 5! Let’s see if their handiwork can compare as I have yet to get the drill!

Positive experience: The Hygienist Karina she is really good. I appreciate that Mrs. Mazza and Dr. Parker take the time to explain any issues you may come across and go over ones options. The only draw back is the high demand of the Hygienist, makes it difficult to schedule appointments(as she is the only one available). This is why only 4 stars.

We all felt at home at this office because of the way we have been treated since. Their professional care have gone from very good to superb. I like the Dr. because of her gentle demeanor and care. Negative experience: As a new patient looking for a long term dentist I was very disappointed. I believe I saw Dr. Parker who was to put it mildly, not very nice. When working with patients there should be a level of understanding, compassion, care and trust with your provider regardless of what practice. If that is what you’re looking for please look elsewhere. I also coincidentally caught the elevator at the same time as a young lady who had a procedure done by the same doctor, and who felt she was rude as well. In addition if you’re looking for a cleaning there is only one dental hygienist and I was told appointments are hard to come by.

Fantastic experience: I started coming here after being fed up with the revolving door of different dentists at NJ Smiles in Union. Dr. Parker and her staff are wonderful! I came in with really a really bad toothache after taking x-rays and giving me a prescription for pain meds, her staff offered to give me my cleaning right then and there so I wouldn’t have to come in again. I absolutely recommend Garden State and Dr. Parker!

Fantastic experience: I brought my mother there for a cleaning. She has Dementia and has difficulty speaking. The hygienist, Karina, was very patient with her and explained everything to her as she was preparing and completing the cleaning. Thanx to her my mom held up better than expected.

Fantastic experience: At first I was like oh no idw go here so many people have had bad experiences or said they’re rude and unpleasant. Well thankfully I decided to give them a try myself and not just go off other peoples word. I don’t know how many hygienists they have but the one I saw was extremely nice. I got to see Dr. Parker and she was also extremely nice. Very soft spoken but extremely nice. The hygienist and Dr Parker were both very friendly and gentle. They even called me to come earlier than what my appointment was scheduled for. I’m sorry some people had unpleasant experiences with them but I’m thankful and grateful that I didn’t.
