Fantastic experience: My experience at South Shreveport Dental is the best dental experience that I have had.I went to several dental offices to get a cleaning done and neither of them would give me one without doing an expensive treatment plan first.The first appointment at South Shreveport Dental they did a deep cleaning on my teeth,and gave me the option to get the other things I needed done.I like the fact that they don't make you feel pressured into doing an expensive treatment plan.My dental hygienist Tamarah was gentle and nice.Dr.Simpson is also very nice.The office staff is also friendly and the office always smell amazing.I will continue to go here and recommend my family and friends.Book your appointment you won't be disappointed.

Yesterday, I was even offered a neck pillow to supported my neck comfortably while I was getting my teeth cleaned. And while I know you don't choose a dentist because you're offered a cookie as you pay your bill, it's a nice perk. I believe I get excellent dental service at a reasonable price. Ask about their dental insurance. It has helped save me money!

Fantastic experience: I was able to receive care quickly for a broken filling. South Shreveport Dental was able to remove the filling and replace it with a crown during one, two hour appointment. The crown fits perfectly-as always.

Fantastic experience: My first time at South Shreveport Dental was amazing! The staff was kind, professional and very welcoming. My hygienist was very compassionate while working on my teeth and made the experience very pleasant. The dentist was also very kind and professional, not pushy at all. He seems to really care about his patients. They have delicious baked chocolate chip cookies that they give you after your appointment. They also have a great payment plan for dental work that is interest free if you pay it off within the first 12 months. Great Dentist office overall!!

Negative experience: They are out of network, but this was not disclosed in the estimate. The estimate I was given did not show the allowable amount by the insurance and did not indicate that the dentist was out of network. Only after receiving the service did I find out they were out of network, which caused my final bill to be much higher than the estimate. Patients deserve clear information about insurance status and accurate cost estimates before treatment. Updated on 9/30/2025 This office is out of network with all insurance companies, but that fact was not disclosed in the estimate I received. The biggest issue is that their estimates do not show the insurance allowable amount. For example, my insurance covers 50% of a crown — but only up to a set maximum allowable fee. This office ran my estimate without comparing their higher out-of-network price to the insurance’s allowable amount. That meant I was shown a generic estimate that looked reasonable, but in reality the insurance would never pay that much because their price was far above the plan’s limits. Later, the office blamed the insurance for “not paying,” when the real issue was that the estimate was misleading from the start because it ignored the allowable amount. If a clinic chooses to provide an estimate, it must be complete and transparent: Clearly disclose out-of-network status in writing. Show both the clinic’s full fee and the insurance’s allowable portion side by side. Make it clear if a service code is not covered under the patient’s plan. Without this, the estimate is missing essential information and misleads patients into unexpected bills. I prepaid my copay in good faith, but later realized the estimate was inaccurate and incomplete. I am escalating this matter to the proper authorities. My advice : unless you have time to request a pre-authorization directly from your insurance, avoid relying on any “generic” estimate that does not disclose out-of-network status and allowable amounts.

Fantastic experience: Experience was Wonderful from the Front Desk to the Back with Dr. Simpson & Mrs. Tamara !!! Mrs. Tamara was Awesome and Very Patient with Me. I told her I was napping while she was Cleaning my Teeth. Dr. Simpson was Pretty Cool also; he explained everything to me very well!! So, I give this Dentistry team Thumbs Up!!!

Some of the best customer service I’ve ever seen at a dentist office. My insurance isn’t fully compatible, but I still go because it is so worth it. I’ve had two wisdom teeth pulled here. Fantastic experience: Painless! This is a very warm and friendly place for dental visits. I just visited for my semi-annual check-up and was pleased by the new technology to prevent spread of viruses during dental procedures. They always seem to be at the technological forefront and I’ve never had an issue with even “slight discomfort” when in the chair for a procedure.

Fantastic experience: Great option for dental work, every staff member took the time to explain every step, and the dentist immediately stopped to numb me further when I complained of discomfort. They were able to fit me in for an emergency filling, and explained various payment options. It was def pricy without insurance but for the quality of service, it was worth it.

Negative experience: I did not get to see the dentist. My experience stopped at Ashley who answered the phone. I sent over my insurance the day before the appointment per her request. She called me back asking was it Medicaid. It states in big, bold writing United Concordia/BCBSLA. I said, "No." She preceded to say that they don't take Medicaid. I repeated that it was not Medicaid. She said that it says on the card to file claims to Medicare (notice the change she said the card reads now...Medicaid to Medicare). Apparently, she can't read or comprehend. I looked at the card again and it stated DENTAL: FILE CLAIMS WITH UNITED CONCORDIA on the first line.. The next line underneath that line stated FILE MEDICARE PRIMARY CLAIMS WITH MEDICARE. If she has repudiated certain groups that she wishes not to serve, he is losing a substantial amount of business

Here at MY dentist we roll like that! Rolling with them until the wheels fall off! Update 6/13/24 Just had my cleaning done a few days ago. They always provide me the convenience of scheduling my son before or right after as well. So, we both have been going here for some years and love it! We left with our teeth feeling fresh and clean. I have had my teeth drilled, field ,pulled ,cap, cleaned and straighten. At South Shreveport Dental is more like a family atmosphere they're all are helpful and caring to the patients and to their coworkers.. all stations are clean and so are all the instruments. Fantastic experience: First off I would like to send a "HUMONGOUS THANKS TO ALL STAFF"!!! I have an Enormous FEAR of going to the Dentist! I had suffered with this tooth for 4 weeks before I could not bare anymore pain! After calling 3 other Dentist offices and one with no answer and one with no call back the third saying no opening until August which wasn't an option. I was so very FORTUNATE and GRATEFUL when South Shreveport Dental came up on Google and immediately was hearing a very kind, calming and reassuring voice saying they would fit me In as an Emergency! THANK YOU!!! From that initial call 2 my next 2 visits they have taken the best care of my dental issue and even better care of my nerve and I can not say thanks enough! I have all ready told two new people about you all and the care you provide to your patients even those with extenuating circumstances as mine!
