His approach goes far beyond treating teeth — he looks at the root causes and the bigger picture of health in a way that feels both progressive and incredibly reassuring. Every recommendation is thoughtful, thorough, and made with long-term health in mind. The level of education, attention to detail, and holistic approach gave us so much confidence and peace of mind. If you are looking for a dentist who blends modern dentistry with a truly holistic philosophy and specialized knowledge in airway-focused care, we cannot recommend Dr. Kundel highly enough. Fantastic experience: Dr. Kundel is the best. We travel to see him and were so pleased with our visit. Everything - from scheduling, to communication with the office, to his staff were fantastic. We came for a second opinion on several issues and he was able to go ahead and do a tricky extraction and gave us some great recommendations on how to manage a somewhat complicated prognosis. Fantastic experience: Dr. Kundel was able to help my mom by providing her with a completely different approach, while the other three dentists told her she would need to lose her teeth . My mom is afraid of dentists… She says it’s because of her gag reflex. Because of that , she missed a lot of dental appointments in her life and ended up with problem teeth. Recently, she went to her regular dentist who told her she will need three root canals: two in the front and one on the back. I don’t like the idea of root canals, because it’s essentially dead teeth, and so I suggested her to get couple of more opinions. She went to two more very reputable dentists in the area who both said the same thing: she would either need root canal treatments, or to remove these three teeth. I see Dr. Kundel for myself and very happy with him, so I said to my mom: why don’t you go see my dentist, just one more opinion and then we will make a decision. She listened. When Dr. Kundel saw her, he said he will try to save those teeth. He did: two of the teeth just needed a regular filling, and one of them just looked darker, but did not even need a filling. Not only Dr. Kundel was able to save my mom’s teeth, he saved her from a lot of aggravation: having unnecessary dead teeth or going through oral surgeries. I’m not even mentioning tens of thousands of dollars that it would cost my mom to have those unnecessary procedures done. In addition, a small bonus, surprisingly when Dr. Kundel worked in her, she did not have her usual gag reflex, and was able to sit through procedures comfortably ( which is unheard of for my mom). When she came out to the waiting room after the procedures were finished, she had tears of happiness I am still in disbelief from this jaw dropping experience! The fact that Dr. Kundel even tried to save those teeth is a huge deal . We don’t know how long these teeth will last. Eventually, we all come to the same ending and so do our teeth But if her own teeth can last her at least a couple of more years, and hopefully more, it will be so amazing . Your own teeth are always better than fake teeth or root canal teeth, or dentures. My mom said Dr. Kundel‘s hands are of true master who knows his craft. She’s very impressed and so am I.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Kundell and his staff were extremely kind, patient, and helpful. They released 4 (of the possible 7) of my daughter’s tethered oral tissues at just 13 days old. The entire staff ensured that we were comfortable and that my daughter was cared for throughout the appointment. Dr. Kundell thoroughly went over the stretches with us and the office personnel was knowledgeable on helping us submit our insurance reimbursement forms. I absolutely LOVE that Dr. Kundell uses a multidisciplinary approach and ensured that we were working with a bodyworker and lactation consultant before and after our visits, as my experience in the past proved that most release providers do not actually do this (though they should!). Definitely worth the 1.5 hour drive to see Dr. Kundell !!

Quick but thorough dental cleaning -no chemicals smells in the office- addressed my long standing issue with a quick simple fix instead of the $$$ complicated options 3 other dentists offered. Fantastic experience: I brought my 4 year old in who needed a bad cavity filled and has dental anxiety. Dr kundel was excellent with him and we decided to do iv sedation to get it done without stressing my son . The entire process was under an hour my son was perfectly fine and happy coming home after . The anesthesiologist he used was also excellent. Every staff member was helpful and put us at ease.

Fantastic experience: Excellent care without being ripped off. Another dental surgery said I needed one possible two root canals, new crowns etc $9k. Turns out I only needed one a bit fillings plus the new crown. All done expertly and kindly at much less expense. I highly recommend!

Negative experience: I rarely post negative reviews; however I feel the need to share that I had a very poor experience with the dental hygienist at Dr. Kundel’s office. I have very sensitive teeth and she was visibly frustrated and impatient with me when I winced and felt uncomfortable. She didn’t smile once and has an off putting disposition. Finally, my interaction with Dr..Kundel felt rushed. I am not at all impressed with this office and will not return.

Fantastic experience: We brought a newborn to Dr Kundel at his Manhattan office. The baby had tongue-ties that per its private pediatrician and those at the hospital was necessary. The holistic dentist spent time getting medical history and pertinent info. He allowed both parents and grandparents in to his office while he examined the baby, Dr Kundel reviewed notes from the child’s lactation experts et al. He was kind, caring and patient. Dr Kundel allowed time for questions and explained the procedure thoroughly. He also taught us exercises to do post-surgery. After the quick procedure which Dr Kundel did with a laser and not by cutting (as an ENT general does) he allowed the nursing mother to feed as long as necessary. His office manager, Lena, was welcoming and extremely knowledgeable. We do not give rave reviews lightly, but highly recommend Dr Kundel and his office staff for tongue-tie issues. We also noticed that he treats people of all ages with a conservative approach to all dental needs.

Negative experience: This review has been a long time coming. Kundel is an absolute joke. He is abrasive, lacks any empathy towards his patients, and compensates for his severe lack of confidence by berating you any time you ask questions. I took my 4-year-old son to him for an appliance that he said was supposed to last for only 2 years. It was like 6k for the appliance and with the scam $180 5-minute "adjustment" every 4-6 weeks, that added another 4k to the bill over 2 years. After the 2 years was up, the clown then tells me that my son will have to continue with the appliance indefinitely and well into his teenage years. Never once was this mentioned during our consult or even at any time in the beginning. After I pushed back on continuing, he then completely bails and tells us he no longer wished to care for my son. By this time, the appliance had already been removed but the stubs were left over so he blackmails me into removing them if I sign some disclosure saying I won't sue him. This guy is a fraud and should not be trusted at all.

Fantastic experience: Love Dr. Kundel. I brought my 18yr old to get her wisdom teeth extracted. First, he couldn't believe how big she got since he remembered her as a baby. Yes, that's how long I've been going to Dr. Kundel. Then he told us she didn't need the extraction, saving us pain and money. He's very trustworthy. Thank you Dr. Kundel.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Kundel is the kind of dentist I want to go to and bring my family to because he is willing to think outside of the box and use alternative methods when treating his patients. He takes his time and make sure that whatever work he’s doing is done correctly. We trust him and we appreciate him. The front desk staff is also kind and welcoming.

We had our baby’s tongue tie release performed by Dr. Kundel, and although the procedure and process in itself is not the most pleasant, they made it as easy and straightforward as possible. Dr. Kundel was efficient and professional, and when it comes to something like this you want someone that knows it inside and out, to get the job done right. I trust that he did a great job, and his wife was extremely helpful in explaining all of the other necessary details. The assistants were warm and friendly with the handling of our little guy.

He incorporates a treatment plan with the knowledge of how our teeth are interconnected with the rest of our body. Negative experience: I took an afternoon off from work and took my son for a consult. I drove almost an hour and the traffic was horrible. We were 10 minutes late and he refused to see us. Unbelievable this is how this doctor treats patients.

He correctly diagnosed and had solutions for issues with my children’s teeth, bite and jaw that no other dentist had ever even noticed and my son is 13!

Fantastic experience: Great office, excellent reception, and an incredibly knowledgeable Dentist. My 7-year-old was a teeth grinder; every other dentist said not to worry, that if she's still grinding when she has her grown-up teeth, they would fit her for a mouth guard. Dr. Kundel came up with a thoughtful plan, and within a week, she stopped grinding.

Negative experience: Awful experience for my husband. Kundel was impatient, didn't answer questions thoroughly, shrugged his shoulders more times than we could count, and left the hygenist who is sweet but inexperienced to help us. His disheveled/sweaty appearance added insult to injury and the silver caps on his teeth were unsettling. Although the hygenist gave us conflicting information vs the dentist, she tried so 1 star for that and the friendly receptionists. Also, the office smells bad for which we are ashamed-it should have been our first hint to run. Edit: So I guess they can't tell who my husband is from my review nd instead of asking, they get upset. They sent a review request and we obliged. Their response can't discredit the specifics laid out so they reply with calling my review fake instead of taking mine and other awful patient experiences into account and improving. The fake reviews that proclaim how amazing Kundel is is a farse and hold no merit. Run, don't walk, from this place.

Negative experience: My two children and I saw Dr Kundel for years. Both kids had the ALF and I worked with expansion and braces. At the end of the painful and expensive treatment on my part, I have been left with a open bite and chronic pain. Both my children are now seeing a new orthodontist because the work he did was unsuccessful. It was an expensive, painful and in my case, destructive 2 years of treatment.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Kundel was wonderful. He did my sons tongue and lip tie. My son is 2 years old and was just diagnosed with tongue and lip tie. Dr. Kundul was very to the point and made sure we understood everything that was going on and how to do the aftercare. I highly recommend him for this revision.

Fantastic experience: I found Dr Kundel when I went looking for a second opinion to fill a cavity (I was seeking out a less toxic alternative to traditional composite materials). I cannot say enough wonderful things about the “miracle” experience I received in his office! I was able to avoid a filling entirely by getting dab of silver diamine fluoride applied to my tooth! The whole process took about 10 minutes from start to finish, was entirely painless, and extremely affordable. Dr Kundel and his staff were so kind, helpful, and so efficient.
