Fantastic experience: I highly recommend that you see this wonderful team that Dr. Tao has here in Sun Prairie. Everything is extremely clean and organized, and the staff is very attentive. I had been looking for an evaluation and cleaning for months, and no clinic had an opening for at least six months. Thousand Oaks kept me informed whenever a new opening or cancellation came up so they could schedule me in. Thank you so much!

Fantastic experience: The entire staff was so warm and welcoming! I have some complex dental issues; Dr.Thao is very thorough and I feel very confident with her as my doctor! Hailey who did my cleaning was so sweet and incredible as well - She made sure I felt comfortable and does an excellent job talking through the process. She explained my choices regarding TMJ care, and helped me understand my options that didn’t start right away with having to spend a lot of money. Appreciated that as a broke college student. Positive experience: Service is fine. They have switched ownership quite a few times so it's always a surprise who you are going to see as your dentist. They can be slow to get you invoices or receipts though, which has been a headache.

The space was beautiful and tastefully decorated, yet private. It looked less like a sterile dental chair, and more inviting and relaxing. I will return again!

During the procedure, she frequently checked in to make sure I was comfortable. I hadn’t had any dental work done in years, and she made the entire experience feel easy, comfortable, and quick. Negative experience: If I go to the dentist and they say you need a crown or a filling etc. why do they rip you off the next time you go by not doing a filling or crowning your teeth. Instead they say, we still need to do a cleaning an x-ray blah blah blah to milk your insurance so you have nothing left to get the crown etc. Do these people have a conscious! This is all dentist not just this office but all offices. Now if you have cavity galore I can understand how you may not have anything left to use. This US system rips you off in every way. Healthcare, dentist, etc!

Fantastic experience: Excellent dentist! I had a problem with a loose implant that not even specialists wanted to touch. She offered to find out the type of implant and solve the problem, and she did! Excellent professional. She is the best dentist I ever had! She is gentle, concerned and thorough. Fantastic experience: Long story short, my daughter had some grownup teeth coming in behind very loose baby teeth, that she refused to let us pullout at home. Dr. Thao and her hygienist were so incredibly patient, supportive and kind to my daughter while she worked through her anxiety of extracting those teeth. This really should’ve been a 20 minute appointment but lasted over an hour with them remaining calm and supportive between her meltdowns. If I could give the whole team more stars I would. You have a forever client here!

Fantastic experience: Dr. Thao and staff here are wonderful! I have had quite a few visits and an implant done recently and have always had great experiences with the team there. They are friendly, professional and they take care to explain everything to you from insurance coverage to the care plan. They make sure you are comfortable and well informed. Fantastic experience: The best dentist office! Everyone is very welcoming and friendly. They did a great job explaining details about my teeth health to me so I can better understand and plan for my dental health. They also play movies on the ceiling so the visit goes by fast!

Fantastic experience: Five stars! Had my first dentist appt (after far too long) with Dr. Vivian, and her and the two hygienists there were incredibly kind, helpful, and non-judgemental. The atmosphere was incredibly relaxing, and they checked in with me throughout the entire exam/cleaning, making sure I was comfortable. Afterwards, they made sure they addressed all of my concerns, and answered any questions I had. I'm one of those people that gets anxiety from almost any kind of Doctors Appt, and I have to say that this place was amazing. I am incredibly happy to have found it. :) I highly recommend. Update: Still incredibly satisfied, going on 2 years of staying with Thousand Oaks. Update: Still with Thousand Oaks. I've been seeing Dr. Opps for the last year or so and I'm just as comfortable under his care as I was under Dr. Vivian's. The atmosphere is just as warm and welcoming as when I first started my care here. I even convinced my husband to switch to Thousand Oaks. He's had nothing but good things to say as well. 10/10 would still recommend! Update (2025): Still my preferred dental clinic! Dr. Thao is so knowledgeable, friendly and efficient, I have nothing but good things to say about her and her work. The hygienists are also all very personable and make you feel right at home! Would still recommend in a heartbeat.

Fantastic experience: The level of professionalism is exceptional at Thousand Oaks! I had not been to the dentist in an embarrassingly long time. They were kind, compassionate and understanding. I worked with Ty who took my X-Rays she explained what to expect for my first time. I was handed off to Anapaula who did my cleaning and fluoride application she as well as explaining the basics of my X-Rays. I was lastly seen by Dr. Thao who wrapped everything up and made final suggestions on moving forward. Wonderful team here and highly recommended to anyone who is worried about their dental health but scared because of judgement. They will take care of you!!

Fantastic experience: Due to my work schedule over the past several years, coupled with the pandemic, I had delayed simple 6 month cleanings and accompanying exams with my now former dentist. Recently, I received a mailing from Thousand Oaks Dentistry and decided I needed to bite the proverbial bullet and make an appointment. Needless to say, I was SO glad I did. From the ease of scheduling, confirming coverage, to filling out pre-visit forms online, followed by the exam and cleaning today, I was 110% satisfied at every step. This is a state of art dentist office with the absolute latest and best equipment from start to finish. I was expecting the worst, since it had been a few years. What I got was the very best care from the dental hygienist and dentist himself. You absolutely, positively, cannot go wrong by choosing Thousand Oaks Dentistry- the whole experience was nothing short of perfect and about as pleasant as one could expect. Looking forward to my next appointment in 6 months!! That review was about 3 plus years ago. Fast forward to today, 6-2-2025. I had another cleaning, twice a year, on average, and, because I had elevated areas of buildup at the last cleaning, they had to use a little more water pressure during the cleaning. This was explained to me today, as I had mentioned the slight discomfort. Today, the hygienist was super thorough and gentle, but, got the job done. I'm happy to be a loyal customer of Thousand Oaks and highly recommend their services to any family or individual. They are also super friendly and do a great job of communicating the entire process for any work that one needs done.

I was very relieved after communicating with staff, as well as seen their sanitation procedures. I have had dentists in the not so far distant past that proclaimed, I had over a dozen cavities. Thousand oaks dentistry was very honest with me and said They are keeping an eye on two teeth that may cause issues in the future. I like their honesty!!!

Fantastic experience: At the risk of ruining my favorite spot, I've never enjoyed going to the dentist more than I have here. They have a great waiting area without the depressing year old magazines and lots of light. Their staff are wonderful, attentive, and explain everything. They give helpful tips for brushing, dental procedures, and use refreshingly modern technologies to *show* you what you're dealing with. I've never felt a more personal level of care at any medical/dental/optometry/pharmacy in my life.

Fantastic experience: First time at the dentist in almost 10 years, I dreaded it, I knew I’m going to need some deep work done an was very nervous! But thanks to the staff an Dr.Tao, they were very nice and informative. She addressed all my worries and made sure to let me know that if there is anything out of her capabilities that she’ll refer to a specialist that can accommodate my needs.

Positive experience: I love the service that I get when I get my teeth cleaned and the staff there are very nice and knowledgeable. What made me feel uncomfortable at the end was getting the estimate for my crown. It felt more like an up charge while at McDonald's. It would have been nice to just get the estimate and let us know if this is something you want to get taken care of. Not "when is a good day for you?" Maybe being a bit picky, but just don't have the money right now to just pay for a crown.

Fantastic experience: Jenny, the Dental Assistant, is knowledgeable and professional in examining and preparing my teeth for the dentist. Seen by many dentists at my age, and Dr. Thao, by far, is an exceptional dentist and the best. She explained and reiterated the procedures she was going to take, and ensured that I was experiencing the least amount of pain as possible. In addition, the staff conducted themselves professionally. Would strongly recommend Dr. Thao and Thousand Oaks for anyone looking for a dentist.

Fantastic experience: I recently became a new patient here and I have nothing but good things to say about them. They were very thorough with my cleaning and letting me know what exactly is going on. The staff seem to really care for their patients.

Negative experience: Everyone is very friendly, but I had a negative experience otherwise. During my second visit I had several fillings done. During my third visit just a couple of months later I was told those fillings all either fell out or needed to be fixed. I was assured that I would not be charged since fillings are not suppose to fall out immediately. Having to have the same fillings done twice is not a pleasant experience. Even worse than that is being assured you will not be charged the second time around then later being sent a bill which was what happened to me. I had even explained both prior to my visit and during my visit that I was about to be a new father and could not afford out-of-pocket expenses which they knowingly did anyway after assuring me they wouldn't. I do not plan to go back. update 9/24/24: after calling me and assuring me that the charges would be dropped, I continue to get bills regularly. The most recent bill shows that Thousand Oaks was able to get the money from my insurance company - something they told me was not possible originally. So first I was told insurance would not cover, then I was told I would not be charged, then after trying to charge me for months they got insurance to pay. Scammy

Fantastic experience: Had a tooth extraction here and she made sure that I was incredibly numb during the procedure even though it's sometimes difficult for me to get numb. There's barely any pain the day after extraction as well. She was incredibly gentle when working with a crowded tooth to ensure my other teeth weren't affected.

Fantastic experience: I am so relieved to have finally found a great dentist after moving to Madison area two years ago! Dr. Thao was so kind and communicative. My hygienist was also so lovely! She looked up one of my health conditions to prepare and made sure to do a manual cleaning because of how sensitive my gums are--probably the gentlest cleaning I've had and so thorough! They really paid attention to my needs are were so kind!

The clinic is also very clean with comfortable seating. It’s also a plus that I can watch Netflix while getting work done on my teeth. Negative experience: The Staff are friendly and the place is clean. However, the previous owner was doing my invisalign treatment and sold the place mid treatment. I was never informed until I tried to make an appointment. They said they would try to handle my invisalign case, so I came in. The new dr told me that I was done and she couldn't do anything else for me, even though my bite was ruined. It's been over a year and my bite is still completely ruined. They claimed I never had it in my notes that I was unhappy with my bite during my case, which is insane. I told them every appointment. An assistant was going to contact invisalign for me, i called the office for a follow up on that and the assistant no longer works there and did not pass along this follow up. Not sure I would trust them with more than a cleaning or basic work.

Fantastic experience: Dr Malia Thao is amazing! It is so nice to have a female dentist. All of the staff are friendly and professional. Visits are scheduled easily and they always provide reminders to you don’t miss an appointment. Ty (hygienist) was incredibly sweet & compassionate today when I went in for a small procedure. The staff is friendly and always greets me with a smile. The clinic is very clean and has a nice waiting area. The kitchen set keeps my kids entertained while they wait for their appointments. Negative experience: This is not the business it was five years ago. Their billing process feels like an insurance racket (charging a ‘full amount’ before a procedure to have on your account, then taking what they need after insurance pays, then insisting to keep a ‘credit’ on your account for future visits; or, fixing a bill to reflect a higher cost for service if there is more than one insurance involved). Maybe this is just par for the course when it comes to these kind of establishments, but I would highly recommend getting a second opinion elsewhere before letting these condescending vultures in your mouth.

Fantastic experience: This dental office and staff have gone out of their way for me, including staying over an hour late to fix an issue I had. They are very warm and friendly, and most of all, very professional. Thank you for what you guts do and you have a raving fan and a patient for life!

Negative experience: Dentist was nice enought and the building Is nice but that really don't do anything at this place and have crazy prices. I had a temp filling put in place at a different dentist and ended up needing to go to this one to get the filling. When they sent me the forms to get medical stuff from my other dentist, I had filled them out but they did not put in the effort to even call the previous to get my dental scans, instead they charged me $100 for Two scans. When I had asked if they even tried to get my scans they said no but I GUESS we can try now. Turns out I need a root canal or extraction. I wanted an extraction due to the pain I am having. They refused to do it at this dentist and said they would send a referral. It'll take over a month for me to get in unless the dentist calls and tells them it's an emergency. They won't do it! They will not put a temp filling in either so I just have to sit in pain for a month to get it extracted. All in all I don't recommend. They really only do fillings and cleaning. And overcharge.

Positive experience: Thousand Oaks Dentistry in Sun Prairie is a nice and clean place. They have comfortable chairs and tvs to watch as you are getting your teeth cleaned so that makes the time go by fast. Staff is great. Excellent customer service.

I have a huge fear of going to the dentist in general and every person I talked to during my appointment today was the best. Especially my technician/hygienist who kept me calm through the entire appointment. I hope she knows how much people like me appreciate her and how kind she is. At this point I would drive out of state to go here if I ever moved.

Fantastic experience: As my 4 year old daughter cried the entire time, her hygienist talked through her feelings and what she was worried about; Explained everything she was going to do and made her feel completely comfortable. Even though she cried the entire time, when we left she was very happy with her experience and loved her Elsa toothbrush. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience for my scared little one!

These ladies helped me overcome my anxiety by sending me texts instead of calling. They allowed me to be seen even though I was several hours late. They were kind and caring really empathized with my unfortunate situation. They are all outstanding care givers mark my words you won’t find care anywhere like here. A suggestion for mothers with little ones or anyone suffering extreme dental anxiety, please do not go anywhere else. This group of girls will take special care to ensure your little one or anxious ones are comfortable and informed about everything they are doing. They even ask before hand!!! Thank you again guys for getting me seen I wish so much I could find a way to stick it out and have you provide the services for me. If anything changes , you know I’ll be in touch. Regardless it was worth the experience to meet such a caring wonderful crew.

Fantastic experience: Very nice, explained everything thoroughly, and was reasonably priced without insurance. Very cute lobby, and there was a tv on the ceiling above the dental chair! Super cool. Would go back.

Fantastic experience: I was a new patient today, nervous and unsure of expectations. I left their facility a happy man who just experienced the most polite, professional and considerate staff that I have ever encountered at a dentist. They listened and were considerate. I had the best exam and cleaning I have ever had, this is my new dental home. Thank you Haley!

Fantastic experience: I very much appreciated the care and respect I was shown by the staff. I know I'm not the best at caring for my teeth, but they were nothing but encouraging and helpful. I didn't feel a hint of shame from anyone or anything during my visit except for the portion I gave myself. Halfway through my cleaning, even my own self-consciousness drifted away! The facility was small and beautifully kept, which made the whole experience feel less like stepping into an intimidating clinical situation and more like stepping into the home of a gracious neighbor. I appreciate the opportunity to schedule my next cleaning right at the end of the appointment because I certainly would have forgotten if left to my own devices! :) Overall, a delightful surprise and I'm looking forward to my upcoming appointments. Fantastic experience: I love going to the dentist, especially this one! All the people are very nice and make the experience a fun one! The new doctor is very nice and thorough with what she was doing and explained everything. As well as the hygienist she was very knowledgeable and answered all my questions with grata detail!

Fantastic experience: For the moment I walked in the door the staff were all very professional and extremely nice. The doctor and her assistant we're patient and explained things to me in detail which is important to me because I have such an extensive dental and medical history. Would highly recommend
