When Panther Pediatric Dentistry transformed into Euclid's Leading Sedation Location, it was done in the spirit of increasing access to care and reducing wait times for children in need of comprehensive dental care while sedated. This commitment to access to care carries over when parents/caregivers notify us of a child's urgent and emergent dental concerns such as pain, swelling, fever, and more. Integrity is one of our pillars upon which this practice was built and we thrive on honesty and communication with families to bring about a resolution to a dental issue we can address. Given that we evaluate a number of children with complex medical histories and fragile immune systems, maintaining our mask policy has allowed us to minimize the spread of respiratory illnesses to vulnerable populations as we generate a great deal of dental aerosols in our practice. Our policies are communicated with families over the phone, via text messages, and are available on our website. Proceeds from masks for those who did not bring them, despite numerous reminders, are donated to Global Dental Relief - a non-profit organization committed to increasing access to dental care to children around the world. While we wish we can treat all children in and around Northeast Ohio, we know that is an impossible task. We rest assured knowing that other pediatric dental providers practice in the area and may have policies that are more in alignment with what families envision and are a much better fit for their comprehensive needs. We want children and families, no matter who provides their dental care, to SMILE with Panther Pride!

Our team at Panther Pediatric Dentistry encourages parents of all patients to review patient paperwork and office policies in advance of the appointment either through accessing our convenient online patient portal or downloading the patient packet from our website. Reviewing these documents in advance helps to minimize confusion and set the level of expectation of what is to come on the day of the appointment. Parental presence/absence is one of the basic behavior guidance techniques of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry that we employ here at Panther Pediatric Dentistry. Research shows that parental dental anxiety is directly proportional to a child's level of anxiety in the dental office. Therefore, many practitioners recommend that when dental visits take place, parents remain in the reception area. At the end of the visit at PPD, parents are invited into the clinical space to discuss the findings and outcomes from their child's visit. Questions are asked and answered and recommended next steps are discussed. We recognize that every dental provider operates their practices differently and that we may not be the best fit for every family in northeast Ohio. We rest assured knowing that there are qualified clinicians to help provide quality, continuous dental care to the small smiles of the Greater Cleveland area. We wish you the absolute best as you return to your child's previous dental provider.

Given the fact the aerosols are generated in the dental office, masks are absolutely required in an attempt to keep patients, caregivers, and team members safe. To set the expectation for every family that enters our practice, from the initial call to schedule through all 4 text message reminders that are sent, parents/caregivers are made well aware that masks are required. As a small business, coupled with the rising cost of providing quality oral health care, giving masks away for free is a financial burden we cannot bear. The masks we have are available to those who come unprepared for a $2 donation to a very worthy cause, the American Sickle Cell Anemia Association. While we understand that our policies may not fit the desires of all families, we are proud to provide quality and compassionate dental care to our Panther Cubs in a safe and healthy environment.

We are blessed with a fantastic partnership with a mobile anesthesia group to help us provide comprehensive dental care under general anesthesia. At least once a week, our office converts into a surgical facility where we are able to safely meet the dental needs of our Panther Cubs. We take this service, as we do all others, very seriously and do our best to prepare families for this type of treatment modality. We thank you for your trust in us.
