Fantastic experience: My daughter had an accident Thursday evening that resulted in dental trauma, so I called Tallahassee Pediatric Dentistry the minute they opened the next morning, hoping they could squeeze her in. The woman who answered was kind and genuinely helpful, and they were able to get us in that morning despite having a full schedule. When we arrived, my daughter was nervous, but the front desk was warm and welcoming, and the assistant who took her X-rays was gentle and patient enough to help her feel comfortable. Dr. Shawn Hanway was wonderful. She was compassionate, knowledgeable, steady, and reassuring, which meant so much as an anxious mom. She took her time explaining the injury, possible outcomes, and recovery in a way that was easy to understand. I left feeling informed and reassured. I cannot thank Dr. Hanway and the Tallahassee Pediatric Dentistry team enough for taking such good care of my daughter.

The office is super clean, bright, and kid-friendly there are toys, games, and a calm atmosphere that instantly put my little one at ease. The dentist was so patient, gentle, and great at explaining everything in a way my child could understand. They took their time, made sure my child wasn’t scared. I also appreciated how clearly they explained the treatment plan to me and answered all my questions without rushing.

They take the time to answer all of our questions thoroughly and always explain treatments clearly and in detail.

Everyone we have worked with has been so kind and explains things well to me as the parent and also to the kids about what to expect. The ceiling TVs are also a great sell, my oldest actually looks forward to going for a cleaning

Fantastic experience: We had a great first dental visit with my very shy 2.5 year old. The dentist and assistant were both friendly and knowledgeable. The dentist was able to look at my girl’s teeth, get them brushed, provide dental education, and answer any questions. My daughter especially liked the cup of dental goodies at the end. The office was very clean as well. Would highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: My son really enjoys coming to this dentist. All the staff have been professional and pleasurable when communicating. I really love the aspect that you can respond to their text reminders if necessary and they will respond back. The office is always very clean and bright. Its so cute to see littles come in and see their names on the welcome board. Im very glad I found this office and I would recommend to anyone looking for a place to take care their kids oral health.

Fantastic experience: We have only had positive experiences with the providers at Tallahassee Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. Shawn assisted with a tongue and lip tie release on our infant son. She and her team brought peace and reassurance to us during a very stressful season of life. They also help connect us to a fantastic Speech Therapy provider (Sunny Speech). The dental hygienists are great with all ages.

Fantastic experience: Talk about a well oiled machine. This practice is so efficient, so clean, so wonderful. Everyone is incredibly kind and patient, and you can tell it was truly designed with kids in mind (TVs on ceiling, genius.) My 6 year old is pretty sensitive to pain and they were so kind to him and when we were leaving he literally asked the receptionist “has anyone ever had a birthday party here?” They probably aren’t the cheapest clinic in town, but truly I don’t mind paying for their efficiency and expertise.

Fantastic experience: I had an amazing experience at Tallahassee Pediatric Denistry, from the appointment booking process and throughout my son's appointment. The customer service is 10/10. The office is inviting to children and my son (5 years old) wasn't scared at all during his first visit. I especially appreciated the television screen that featured his choice of anything on Netflix that he was able to enjoy during the appointment. His dental hygienist, Ms. Halley was absolutely wonderful and explained everything to him before she proceeded. I highly recommend Dr. Shawn and her staff, looking forward to many more visits.

Fantastic experience: I was nervous bringing in my brushing teeth hating toddler for his first dentist appointment… and wow! He was very clingy and upset when we walked back and they immediately took us to a private room that was quiet and I was able to hold him In my lap for the dentist to examine him. He didn’t cry at all! I am so thankful for the information and understanding of how to handle kiddos with big feelings! Highly recommend and will be back!!! Let me add, our visit was $120 with no insurance which I was pleased with.

My newborn baby had a tongue and lip tie and we had been having all sorts of issues until we found Tallahassee pediatric dentistry and had a tongue and lip tie release. Within a few days, my baby was feeding, and sleeping so much better! Both my husband and I were impressed with the office from the cleanliness to how friendly the staff is. Working with kids can be hard, but this group does a great job! I can’t say enough about Dr. Shawn and her lovely, compassionate bedside manner. As a mother to young children herself, she seems to really understand how nerve-racking these procedures can be for parents. 10/10 recommended!

Fantastic experience: We’ve been bringing my daughter here since her first tooth, and now my son has had his first visit as well. They are incredibly profession as well as wonderful with kids. Even when needing a special treatment for cavity prevention, something that could make a kid nervous, they provide everything needed to make my kid feel comfortable and get the treatment they need. I cannot recommend them enough and my kids love coming to the dentist now!

They always go above and beyond to provide the best experience possible. I love how Dr. Shawn and Dr. C take the time to explain everything and show us what we can do as parents to help our little ones. The option for IV sedation has been a game changer for our youngest son. Sherry went above and beyond to help us with a schedule conflict for my sons dental surgery and took time out of her day to call and find another parent that was able to switch appointments with us. I will be forever grateful for this. They personally know their patients and their patients families and it means the world to know that our boys are in such great hands. I also love seeing how Dr. Shawn spoils her staff and thanks them for all of their hard work. It sets the mood of the office and I love it. :)

The staff are kind and patient, my children get to pick their favorite Netflix show to watch while their procedures are being performed. The staff does a wonderful job at calling with sooner cancellations and giving options to schedule at your convenience.

The whole environment at this place is carted to kids and babies so they do not feel scared of being at the dentist office. Our baby girl had her 1st visit last month and we were very comfortable walking in knowing she is going to be in good hands. Fantastic experience: Hands down the BEST dentist office for your littles! From their friendly staff to the sweetest dentist, you are guaranteed to have a GREAT visit. My little one was hesitant and nervous so they didn’t push anything he wasn’t comfortable with. Instead, the wanted him to have a positive experience and we tried the X-rays on his next visit. After a few visits of gaining his trust, he’s now confident, goes back by himself and comes out SMILING! ❤️

Fantastic experience: Everything about Tallahassee Pediatric Dentistry is wonderful! From check-in, check-up, to check-out, the process was quick and painless. This was our son's first visit to the dentist at 20 months, and Dr. Shawn was so gentle and understanding when speaking to him and cleaning his tiny teeth. The Buzz Lightyear toothbrush she gave him was the icing on the cake. We cannot recommend this practice enough and will be back again!

The front office communicated well on what to expect during our first visit and even though my daughter was afraid, all staff were so gentle with her. I like that they are kid-centric, offering tvs with headphones during cleanings, giving prizes for jobs well done, and offer a discount for those without dental insurance who pay in cash. We have been pleased with our experience at TLH Pediatric Dentistry and look forward to continuing our children’s dental care with their practice.

Fantastic experience: The office & staff here at Tallahassee Pediatric Dentistry is amazing they make all the kiddos feel as welcome as they can and as special as they are. My daughter back in June had to have some major work done and she was very anxious going into the process however they did everything in their power to ease her anxiety and needless to say Aves isn't scared of going on a continuous basis like I was worried she'd be.

Fantastic experience: We love Tallahassee Pediatric Dentistry. All of the staff members have been very helpful, and when my son had his first visit and was extra nervous they allowed big sister to walk him back to the chair which was a huge help. My kids look forward to going to the dentist, which is a big deal. I feel very comfortable when we come in for visits, and the office has a kid friendly but calm atmosphere. In addition, our insurance claim is handled by office staff providing less of a burden for me.

Fantastic experience: Our son had another great dental checkup this morning with Tallahassee Pediatric Dentistry! He has been going to this office since he was 2, and because the staff is so gentle and kind he is always excited to go back! We talk about the 'sugar bugs' and how proud Dr. Shawn and her 'friends' will be of him when he finishes brushing, they are like celebrities in our house <3 Love love love this office!

Dr. Shawn has personally gone out of her way to support our family when my son was undergoing a transplant and she has been nothing but accommodating to his needs as he still recovers. Fantastic experience: Everyone is so kind, caring and helpful. It can be scary for both the child and the parents to have dental work done but they are great at calming everyone’s nerves. They have televisions on the ceiling for the kids to lay back and watch their favorite program. My kid likes to come here and has grown to enjoy brushing, flossing and mouthwash.

Fantastic experience: So I waited until we had our second appt to write this review, first and foremost I can feel the love and care from every professional in that building... after my first visit with my two boys I was saddened to see they would not be taking our insurance starting in 2022... the owner and her husband made sure to let me know they are working on something to make it to where my boys can still come ,(lucky for me I started a new job with insurance they still take) . They are very transparent on the pricing and I went in knowing how much my sons appt was going to cost and the what if’s that could pop up ... they were very understanding of my older sons anxiety at his first appt and were so sweet on this second appt with my youngest .. two crowns and two fillings is no easy feat on a 4 year old and in my opinion they were perfect ! The dr and her assistant didn’t even need to speak they worked so well as a team and were completely in sync .. you can see and feel the passion coming from them and the welcoming atmosphere the moment you walk in ! I can’t say enough great things about this place ... I will suggest this place to anyone with young children

Fantastic experience: We always have a great experience here! My girls only worry before visiting the dentist is what show they’ll pick to watch while in the chair. Hygienists there are great with kids & create a calm relaxed environment with lots of positive affirmation for the kids. The staff are wonderful too!!

Fantastic experience: Restorative work can be extremely traumatic for a child. I never wanted my children to grow up with a fear of the dentist. Thankfully, IV sedation is an available option at Tallahasseee Pediatric Dentistry. My 5-year old needed several fillings, so before selecting sedation the hygienist recommended trying the procedure first without and she got through it like a champ, she was so calm and relaxed. She needs to return in a week to finish the other side and she has no fear as she felt no pain!

Fantastic experience: We moved to Tallahassee 3 1/2 years ago and I read wonderful reviews about Dr. Shawn but she wasn’t in network for us. I took my boys to another dentist in town and was less than thrilled. So I switched our insurance carrier and took them to Tallahassee Pediatric Dentistry and we all loved it so much! From the cleanliness, the staff, the updated equipment and the comfort level they provided to my kids. Unfortunately, shortly after that they stopped being in network for my new insurance. So I switched carriers AGAIN just to continue bringing my kids to Dr Shawn! We will be with her until my kids are adults!

Fantastic experience: My son loves going to the dentist. The office is bright and inviting, there are fun toys available in the waiting room (pre-COVID), but his favorite part is getting to be a big boy and go back with the hygienist. He gets to watch tv in the ceiling with headphones on. Dr. Shawn and her entire staff are so friendly and helpful! They truly know how to work with small children and make everyone comfortable.

Fantastic experience: We have been patients of Tallahassee Pediatric Dentistry since moving to Tallahassee in 2019. I have been continually impressed with how organized and friendly the entire office staff is, even with the changes they have made due to Covid protocols. I like that they communicate via text and you can text back and forth - for example I was able to text a picture of our insurance card so they could get our visit pre-approved. My kids feel comfortable going to the dentist and even look forward to their appointments! Thanks!

Fantastic experience: We live and Mexico Beach FL and make the drive to see Dr. Shawn and staff when my son requires any dental procedure. Our local dentist always insists in sedating my son and I don’t feel all of that is necessary. Dr. Shawn is patient, gentle and we’ve always had our procedures done in the office without any issues. It’s been a great experience for my son and me!

Fantastic experience: They have a very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful staff. That are great with all our kids. They make going to the dentist something my kids look forward too. And we couldn't be happier with the care they receive.

Fantastic experience: The staff is doing a wonderful job with COVID procedures and made my child feel very safe! I love the texting options and so glad my 10 year olds can go into the dental office feeling safe and secure with no issues. Dr. Shawn is amazing and does a thorough examine while listening to all my concerns.

Fantastic experience: We went to Tallahassee Pediatric Dentistry when my son was 2.5 years old. I was unsure how he would react to having his teeth looked at, but they did a fantastic job of keeping him calm and making it an enjoyable experience for us both! Fantastic experience: Tallahassee Pediatric Dentistry was a referral to us shortly after we moved to Tallahassee. We absolutely love Dr. Hanway and her staff! They are knowledgeable and so friendly. We wanted our kiddo to have a great start to dental health and we feel he is in good hands here. Our son looks forward to going to the dentist because he is made to feel comfortable. Fantastic experience: We LOVE Dr. Shawn and all of her sweet staff. The office is clean and inviting, even during the pandemic. The staff has been both encouraging and patient when my kids have been nervous. They support both parent and child. Dr. Shawn is incredibly knowledgeable, kind, and gives great practical advice and keeping these baby teefies healthy! I cannot say enough great things about all of our experiences in the office over the past 4ish years!

Fantastic experience: We've had nothing but a great experience here. I would highly recommend. The parking lot is split into two sections flanking both sides of the building and they're quite small. I've never had an issue with parking though and it's never been a crowded waiting room either. My guess is they schedule really well because we've never had to wait longer than 15 minutes. I wouldn't even mind waiting though because the waiting area is well equipped with fun toys, coloring, and a movie playing (and some coffee for the parents). My kids have enjoyed it and so have I. The dental chairs are located in an open space with small tv screens on the roof (for the kiddos to watch) and equipped with headphones for them. So if your kid is a little anxious this gives them something to hold on to and distract themselves. It's happy and colorful and all the employees are great!

Fantastic experience: My son had his first visit here last month and I was surprised and delighted at how much he loved “the dentist”! Check in was smooth and quick, even with restrictions on entry and social distancing due to COVID-19. They had Finding Nemo playing on a huge tv in the waiting area and his name up on a new patient board, which he was so excited about. There was no physical paperwork as everything was completed on an iPad which was sanitized between each use. When he came back from his cleaning he was holding a cup with a new toothbrush, toothpaste, floss and even a t-shirt that said “smooth sailing”! When we got back in the car to head home he said “mommy, can we go back to the dentist on Saturday” which means you know it was a hit. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for their kids to have a fun time receiving great dental care!

Fantastic experience: We had the best experience with Tallahassee Pediatric Dentistry. My 1.5 year old daughter fell and hit her front tooth (knocked it out and her mouth was bleeding). We’d never been to the office before but I knew it was near my house so I gave them a quick call in a panic - they had us head up immediately and worked us in ASAP. We barely waited (we had to fill out paperwork) and the staff was so kind to my daughter and this stressed out mom. (Plus the office is new and clean and they have great COVID precautions in place) Actually looking forward to taking her back for her first “real” dentist visit soon.

Fantastic experience: I was looking for a pediatric dentist on Google a few months ago and this place popped up. Just the pictures alone told me this was the one! So i decided to try it out. Our first visit felt welcoming. Staff is just awesome, very polite, very patient. Always greeting you with a smile! I loved it! Second visit was today (procedure was done) and WOW!!!!! Everything went great. They did a great job with my 4 year old. She loves them. Highly recommend it!

Fantastic experience: My family loves TPD! The staff is friendly and very professional. They do all they can to make the kids (and parents) feel comfortable. I honestly don’t have one negative thing to say about this establishment. Dr. Shawn is very informative and helpful!
