Fantastic experience: I'm extremely afraid of the dentist and didn't go for over 5 years before going to Matthew Smiles. Everyone here is very kind and knowledgeable about various sedation options. Sedation dentistry is not cheap, but I think that they are very reasonably priced for what you get. I definitely recommend Matthew Smiles if fear is preventing you from getting dental treatment.

I have never been treated with more kindness respect and compassion .From the front office to the team In the the back is smooth and organized . All of the assistants are knowledgeable and very competent. Elyse, Raquel, and Alyse are amazing assistants. And Amber his Hygienist if outstanding! Dr Mathew’s is conservative . He will go to great lengths to preserve your teeth . He has saved 3 of my teeth so far that any other dentist would have recommended an implant only because of how involved things were to save the teeth - He has special techniques that not every dentist is capable of doing . He is very good at explaining the options and the process of each procedure that is offered and discussed . I am an extremely picky person when it comes to who works on my teeth , and a big baby , but his team goes to great lengths ( above and beyond to make sure you are comfortable and have the best experience possible . My only regret is that not finding him years ago . Obviously I cannot say enough good things about Dr Mathews and his dental team. They are fantastic!

Amber has over 15 years experience as dental assistant and Hygenist combined: Her skill is exceptional, guiding me by explaining the next area of cleaning, step by step with her calm assuring voice to prepare me for the sequence.. She was very gentle with all instruments and suction as she cleaned my teeth to perfection. Dr. Matthews has an exceptional memory as he remembered my #28 tooth needed attention from my last appointment 4 months ago and employs the best in class equipment to produce the best results from any needed procedures. Dr. Matthews also has the talent of discernment to know when intervention is necessary to prevent further damage. I travel to Utah from Wisconsin to have Dr. Matthews and his team evaluate and treat my teeth and oral hygiene, providing me truly the finest dental care I’ve ever had. Fantastic experience: I went here back in October for some front bottom fillings but my gums bleed very easily and we think that caused those fillings to fail. However Mathew dental was very carrying and redid my fillings for free, staff here go over the moon to give a good experience. Will be coming back for my check ups.

I have a challenging patient case, dental wise, so I have been careful about who I go to for care. They know what they are doing, are very professional, AND have excellent bedside manner. Negative experience: Would not recommend this office. I have been a patient for a few years and my family and I will not be returning. Expect long waiting times anywhere from 15 minutes to 1.5 hours sitting in the chair waiting to be seen by Dr. Matthews. He does not value your time. There is new staff every time you go to the office which alarming. A high staff turnover rate is usually reflective of how they treat people and the working environment. (Should tell you something about the office if the staff don’t want to be there anymore ) The doctor and women in the front talk poorly of patients insulting their intelligence, condition of their mouth, calling names and adding “additional fees to their account” because “they are a pain to work, have a crap mouth, have stupid amounts of money and can afford to pay more.” Money is their primary objective and patient care is secondary. They charge more than other offices do for the same services in the area. If you ever have to deal with the new office manager Lindsay, she is unprofessional and blatantly rude in person and over the phone. If you continue going to this office Dr. Ashman is an honest doctor is fair, kind, very educated and does great work. I would request to see him. The nitrous is free with any appointment (for now) The assistants are very sweet girls and take very good care and pay close detail to your needs but you will over pay with your time and money at this office. (I am a patient of record anonymously sharing my experience)

He took all the time needed and gave me his complete attention. I was quite impressed with his knowledge and expertise. I am 84 years old and have had numerous dental issues over my lifetime -- I can honestly say this experience rivals my top two or three in quality in all aspects..

Fantastic experience: Matthew was very knowledgeable, personable, and friendly. I had a root canal tooth from another dentist years ago go bad. Matthew explained all of my options to me and helped me know what to expect. He even gave me options to save the tooth which other dentists didn't do.

Fantastic experience: I just finished appointment number two of two appointments to get a crown on one of my teeth at Matthews Smiles. Dr. Matthews and his staff were excellent at working with me to give me an excellent new tooth and to make me feel comfortable in the process. I have extreme anxiety about getting my teeth worked on, so for the first appointment, Dr. Matthews worked with a very good anesthesiologist (Tony) who did a marvelous job putting me to sleep with general anesthesia, so I didn't have to experience any of the grinding and what all that had to be done to prepare my tooth for the crown. They took very good care of me. For my second appointment, I requested localized numbing shots all around the tooth that they were going to remove the temporary crown from, and then replace with the permanent crown that had been made for my tooth. Dr. Matthews and his staff were very friendly and accommodating and they did an excellent job getting my tooth extremely numb for me, just like I requested! ☺️ I had a very good experience, and I can't thank them all enough for helping me to get my tooth crowned perfectly, without me having to experience any more anxiety than I was already having about my tooth.

Fantastic experience: I LOVE this place! I keep trying to get my brother and other family members to come here because their service and expertise is the best I have ever had. Dr Ashman is amazing. They used this cool camera that showed me what my tooth looked like - especially the trouble ones. Some dentist in the past have just said “hey you have five cavities we need to fill.” This dental group is not that. They really work with me to get my input on each treatment plan for each tooth.

Here are some additional comments after a recent molar extraction and bone graft: Being totally honest: some procedures are not painless! But Dr Matthews and his staff worked quickly and encouragingly doing what needed to complete the work with minimal discomfort. The healing continues.

Fantastic experience: Always welcoming upon arrival and never a long wait for your turn. I have been coming to Mathew’s Smiles since 1993 with Dr Gary Mathews. An excellent dentist . Now I come to his son Dr Blake as do my adult children. He too is an excellent dentist. Pre Dr Gary I developed a fear of that Novocain injection . That fear is becoming less and less. Mathews Smiles gets it done painlessly. And the hygienists are specialists in administering a completely pain free injection. I had to have some very old crowns replaced and my new ones are beautiful and my bite feels perfect. I highly recommend Mathews Smiles Thank you to Dr Blake Mathews and staff!

It's a comfortable and beautiful office space with the latest in technology for you as a patient, (newer x-ray equipment, headphones with great music selection and photo slide show above the chair to name a few). Love the hygienists (shout out to Ginger!) and office staff too. From check-ups to fillings to root canals, I've been treated so well. Dr. Matthews is kind and gentle, especially with giving the shots and being aware of how you are feeling during every procedure. I highly recommend him and his office.
