Fantastic experience: I had an outstanding experience at The Downey Dentist. The entire team made the visit easy, professional, and surprisingly enjoyable for a dental appointment. A huge thank you to Maggie, the dental tech who performed my cleaning. She was incredibly thorough, gentle, and very attentive to detail. She made sure I was comfortable the entire time and explained each step of the process. It was easily one of the best cleanings I’ve had. The front office staff deserves recognition as well. Rayda made scheduling my appointment effortless, and Lily at the front desk was warm, welcoming, and very professional when I arrived. You can also tell the office runs smoothly because of Sonya, the office manager. Everything from check-in, to the appointment, to checkout was organized and efficient. The office itself is clean, modern, and extremely well run. If you're looking for a dental office with excellent care and an outstanding staff, I highly recommend The Downey Dentist.

Fantastic experience: For some people like me going to the dentist is hard because I had associated dentist with pain. My conception has changed dramatically since my first visit to the downey dentist 2 months ago. Very attentive people, and a very high qualified staff. They explained me very carefully all the issues of my oral health, the prices and the way I could finance my treatment. I decided to started the same day with a very deep cleaning, performed for female oral hygienist who spend 2.5 hours in the morning and another 2.5 hours in the afternoon. My teeth were very bad but in spite of that I didn’t feel any pain and she was very attentive that I would be comfortable. The best deep cleaning I have ver had with no pain. Next cession a very gentleman and kind ondodontist performed 2 root canals. I haven’t had an specialist dentist taken care of my teeth.. he was the professionalism and knowledge in their hight expression. 3 root canals in total. Next step a dentist and his assistance preparing my 3 teeth for new crowns, again always making sure that no plain be inflicted during the whole procedure. I continued in a long treatment but so far and honestly they deserve 10 stars. My excuses about my broken English.

Negative experience: The worse place I have gone NEVER WILL I RECOMMEND ANYONE COMING HERE My mom lost a tooth and they never admitted the dentist’s mistake he damaged my mom tooth and not even got our money back WORSE PLACE I HAVE 20 years experience in ortho assistant never have seen this. I am still fighting to get our $1,500 money back

Maggie is incredibly skilled—not only was the cleaning thorough, but she managed to do it with such care that I barely felt a thing. She explained each step as she went, checked in often to make sure I was comfortable, and genuinely seemed to care about my well-being. Fantastic experience: Hands down one of the best dental experiences I’ve ever had. I came in looking for a second opinion and was in serious pain, running out of time. Lili at reception was an absolute lifesaver—she got me in ASAP and made the whole process smooth and stress-free. She took the time to break down my insurance coverage and explain all my treatment options, which ended up being way more affordable than the ridiculous quote I got from my original dentist. Then comes Dr. Joseph—professional, knowledgeable, and the kind of person who earns your trust right away. He explained everything clearly, which made me feel confident moving forward with them. And shoutout to Dr. Mancini—this guy is next level. With 22 years of experience, you can tell he’s a master of his craft. He’s confident, calm, and knows exactly what he’s doing. I was actually able to relax during the procedure, which says a lot. The whole staff was on point—welcoming, attentive, and clearly working as a team. If you’re in the area and need dental work done, this is the spot. 10/10, highly recommend.

Positive experience: For a first time visit it wasn’t bad. I came here because I did not like the way my former dentist treated me. The female staff were kind and patient and very understanding! They made me feel at home and made the experience a lot less stressful. The dentist and staff answered any questions I had. However, it was my first time getting a tooth extraction and I made a slight noise when I got nervous during the procedure and I did not appreciate the dentist’s response saying “Don’t start please I haven’t even started yet”. So, that’s why I’m giving it 4 stars. But other than that it wasn’t bad. I wouldn’t mind coming again.

Negative experience: If I could give ZERO stars I would! I had a new patient appointment. Where I waited for TWO hours! Once I was in the chair, the lady was taking my X-rays where the computer crashed where it took another 15 min. To figure it out. Then after that debacle the manager came in and asked if I wanted to book a teeth cleaning, it was there protocol to come in for a consultation, X-rays then make a different appointment on a different day to get the teeth cleaned! I was and still am furious! The manager kept on saying I don't understand your frustration? Obviously this lady is disconnected with her office and does not know how to read patients needs! #1 WORST DENTAL OFFICE IN DOWNEY!

The staff in the back are amazing too, answering any questions, Denise is great, she let's me know the procedures we have scheduled for that date and answers any questions . I brought my daughter's too and they were amazing, and allowing my husband to stay with my smaller daughter too because she was scared.

Negative experience: A few years ago, I had a root canal done at this practice that has now failed. I recently returned after noticing signs of infection, and X-rays confirmed the original procedure was unsuccessful—despite my following all care instructions. Now I’m told I need a retreatment, which is even more expensive than the original. When I asked if there was any flexibility in cost, given it was their work that failed, I was coldly dismissed with zero accountability. Dental work is expensive and based on trust. When a procedure fails, a good practice should stand behind their work. This one does not. I’ll be getting care elsewhere—and you should too. Their cleanings are also rushed and not very thorough. 2 stars because their hygienists are really sweet.

Fantastic experience: It's a nice place to go to. Been going for the past 2 and a half years for ortho. Receptionists are very welcoming, the Doctor is very helpful and dentist assistances are very kind and friendly. Can be pricey and your insurance might not be able to cover the cost. But they do have good payment plans. Definitely recommend if you can afford it.

Negative experience: The dentist was cool but then they went from an over the phone bait of 1000 dollar start to a 5000 dollar switch in the end. I hate when businesses do this. It’s a waste of the customer and your time. Just be honest and upfront with us so that we know whether or not to come there.

Negative experience: I cannot stress this enough, please get a second opinion if this place tries to quote you with a high bill for a service. I came in for a first time appointment to have my frontal implant fake tooth looked at, after taking CT scans of my mouth the dentist came over and showed me that my implant was very clearly infected, and that I would need to get it out immediately. Having my implant put in and all of the prior surgeries I had to have for it, hearing this news made me scared and vulnerable. Right after explaining to me that I needed to have immediate surgery to have my implant removed, I was overloaded with paperwork and was told all together it would be $15,000, BUT that they would “do me a favor” and only charge me $10,000; with that however, in order to get that “deal” I had to sign up for a line of credit through them THAT DAY before I left. Being distraught I agreed and was told I would not be charged the full 10k until I had my surgery. After leaving I decided to get a second opinion, from a very highly recommended Periodontist in Beverly Hills…. The Beverly Hills Dentist was SHOCKED that this Downey Dentist was going to charge me $15,000, and then they quoted me $6,800 for all 3 surgeries. The Downey Dentist tried to convince me they were “giving me a deal” by only charging me 10k instead of 15k, when a BEVERLY HILLS dentist only charged me $6,800 for everything, and not to mention they were a lot more kind and gentle with me throughout the whole process. On top of that, after getting my surgeries in Beverly Hills I found out that the Downey Dentist charged my line of credit the FULL 10k, THE SAME DAY that I signed up, which is illegal and then got mad at ME for filing a complaint. PLEASE GET SECOND OPINION, these guys are scammers.

Negative experience: Cancelled my dental cleaning 30 minutes before my appointment!!! And when you come in for ur appointments they take 30–45 minutes after ur scheduled time to actually take you back In the office to do ur dental work!!

Negative experience: The wait time is always long. It's always over 30 minutes, last visit was 45 minutes to be put in a room. When I asked, they said it was still going to take even longer to be seen. I did not stay for my appointment

Fantastic experience: Going to the dentist can be a very unpleasant experience, but here are at The Downey Dentist they make it feel like you are going to visit family. From the front reception staff to the dentist everyone is very friendly and informative. Dr. Kim took his time explaining what he saw in my X-rays and we worked on the plan of care together. His dental assistant Natasha was so sweet and was able to accommodate a cleaning with the dental hygienist, Maggie. She was very gentle and careful while cleaning my teeth.
