Fantastic experience: It was my 1st appointment and everyone was absolutely amazing from the greeting as I walked in…to the assistant and the dentist. I felt very comfortable and am looking forward to having them care for my teeth.

My daughter now enjoys going to the dentist and sits in the chair by herself (4yo). She’s been so patient teaching my girl good oral hygiene. The ladies at the front desk are always nice and polite.

Fantastic experience: Time waiting, great! Procedure wasn’t long less than an hour which is wonderful. Most of all the staff super professional and courteous. The doctor did what he had to do, kept checking in to see if I was okay as far as the pain. I recommend this practice to everyone.

Fantastic experience: I have been going to Carol Gordon for over 25 years. She is amazing—simple as that. I would never switch to another hygienist.

Negative experience: I’ve not had a good experience here as my first adult dentist. Among one of my first visits, the dentist recommended knocking out my front teeth and replacing with implants (I am only 20 years old). I’m not ignorant and I am not getting scammed out of 5-10k. On my recent visit to fill cavaties, I was seen by a different dentist. This dentist looked at me puzzled when I said that implants were the previous recommendation, as if he did not even read my chart. Seems like a difference in standards of care in the same practice? Similarly, my filling work was done with only 1 hygienist present, and her work was not checked by another staff member before I left. The filling is partially complete, there are black spots behind my tooth that weren’t there before and my bite is completely off. I am breaking floss and unable to floss in areas that used to be a breeze, and my gums are an atrocity. They are grey and dying around where the filling took place and I was told that this was normal but I have never had this kind of pain nor sloghing off of gum tissue either. And my tooth anatomy? Not nearly the same as before.

Negative experience: Worse dentist EVER!!! I left in so much pain after 2 fillings and the staff didn’t even care!

Negative experience: I was a long time patient of this office for years, over andecade. I had a lot of work done here and had to be referred out for a couple root canals. I asked the front desk to send me all of my paper work a couple years ago when I decided to leave the office due to some not great encounters with a couple of the dentists as well as a botched root canal that was attempted by one of the Hires dentists. I have spent nearly 40k at this dental office. Yes, you read that right, no that was not a typo. And Every. Single. Time. I left the office I asked if I had paid off all of my balance. I paid with care credit/out of pocket because I do not have dental insurance. I stressed that I did not want to receive a letter in the mail about an outstanding balance, and I would pay every dollar I owe before leaving the building. Every single time they assured me I had paid off my balance and did not owe the office anything. Surprise surprise, when I decide to leave this office and receive treatment elsewhere, I receive a bill for $327 in the mail. At first I attempted to call and ask about this bill during the open hours they have listed online but when I called, I was unable to talk to anyone. The office was closed. At noon on a Friday (when their website said they were open). I work 3 jobs so I tried to call twice more at different times and still, the office was closed. I did not have time to wait around for an opportunity to speak to someone if they weren’t going to be open when their website said they would be. So I gave up. Today, I received a bill basically saying “we don’t want to impact your credit score, but we need payment! Pay or this is being sent to collections”. Over a year since my last appointment where again, I asked multiple times if I paid off everything and was ensured I didn’t owe them anything. I was told over and over again I didn’t owe them anything but yet, here we are. I want to stress every single EFDA and DA I encountered was kind and helpful. They once had a replacement dentist who was poking around in my mouth without a mask on and talking to me while less than a couple inches from my face. Another dentist had made me cry with their lack of professionalism. And apparently their billing department doesn’t know what they’re doing. I recommend not going here. But, I should’ve known that on my very first appointment when I was about 12 years old and the dentist asked if I did hard drugs because of how bad my teeth were. Ever heard of genetics/depression? And maybe… not asking a child if they do heroin because their teeth aren’t great? Do better. Your patients are people, not endless money streams.

Fantastic experience: I went to Hires dental today for my first appointment and I must say it was really great. The young lady that took care of me “ Lacy “ was very professional and listened to me about my issues. She did an excellent job with me and Dr. Kahn was also very professional new exactly what I needed to fix my dental issues. The entire staff is very professional and kind . I for sure will be a long repeat customer. I highly recommend them for anyone looking for a great experience with very high professionalism.

Negative experience: Went here a few years ago with a terrible tooth ache. After 4 visits all the dentist here did was nothing except to run my insurance out on too many Xrays. She literally left me in agonizing pain only to continue to schedule appointments where the only thing she would do is order more Xrays. Finally, she sent me home with Rx toothpaste that did nothing to ease my pain. Found a different dentist who was able to identify the problem and fix it on the first visit. Would not recommend using Hires. All they care about is money. Awful service, deplorable Dentist. Go to Towers, they take care of you! Fixed my issue immediately.

Negative experience: The cleaning was good I prefer the person that did it she does a great job but I did NOT see the dentist! To see the dentist I would have had to wait over an hour and a half due to there only being one dentist there that day and there were people before me. I appreciate the dental hygienist for being honest and telling me. I still got billed for a dental exam even though I never saw or spoke a single word with the dentist.

Dr. Li examined my chipped tooth and thankfully determined that no filling was necessary; he simply smoothed the surface to prevent food buildup. Not to mention the Dentist told me I needed way more work than I actually did and Tried to overcharge me. I'm soooo glad I switched. Fantastic experience: I’ve been driving from out of state to go to Hires, for several years now. I love that they can do most things in house, I don’t have to see a different provider for every procedure. The entire staff is great. From the time you walk in the door, you are greeted with smiles and friendliness. I love seeing Carol for my cleanings. I previously saw Dr Yaya and loved her. and thought it was the end of the world when she left. But lately I’ve seen Dr Khalid and she is awesome! I told her from the beginning that I have anxiety with dental procedures and she has taken every step to make sure I feel comfortable and know I’m in great hands. She explains things before doing them. She makes great recommendations for what needs to be done next. I highly recommend Hires Dental Office! I’ve sent many people there who have loved it as much as I do. Dr.Khalid is an excellent dentist! The office is also kept very clean, which I appreciate.

Negative experience: Scam artists, I wish I was warned about this establishment beforehand. The positive reviews are in exchange for a chance to get discounts. Every visit I had new staff, I asked them why they had such high turnover, and they were not sure. Dr Yaya drilled into my tooth without anesthetic, as well as ended up damaging two other teeth, before suggesting I reschedule and see another dentist in the practice. She does not need to be working on anyone's teeth. After trying on numerous occassions to reschedule the service to correct the damage Dr Yaya did as well as to get the original crown done I gave up trying. Imagine my suprise when I received a bill for the service Dr Yaya attempted but could not complete (while also damaging two other teeth). They fraudulently charged my insurance for services not rendered, and I did not find out until I was informed by the new dental office I go to currently.

Negative experience: Horrible horrible horrible! I’ve been to a lot of dentists and this place I can say has been the worst! They destroyed 3 of my teeth and said there is nothing they can do but pull them. I opted against that thank God because I found a dentist that was able to fix them!! Dr Yaya is not knowledgeable to be grinding peoples teeth down to the gums, then to say there is not enough tooth left for a crown! Hey yaya I now have two crowns that you said couldn’t be done, imagine that! Also the billing department there has a bunch of thief’s working- at my last appointment they said I had a $800 credit since I couldn’t do the crown. I have since called looking to get my $800 refunded and they said they need to review my account. When I call to check on it I’m still getting the same answer it’s under review!!!!!! I am thankful to have found a GREAT dentist office in Perrysburg called Dental Innovations and I highly recommend this office for all your dental needs! They are VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE on dentistry and can fix anything, their office staff is GREAT too!!

Fantastic experience: this was my first time going to this location. i highly recommend this place. i was treated with respect and kindness. they were very understanding as well that i arrived late to my appointment, and still got me in and did all they could within the time frame. everyone was very inviting and the woman who worked on me was very gentle and kind.

Negative experience: I have been a patient with Dr. Hires care for over 30 years and was always extremely happy with my care. However since Dr. Hires and dental hygienist, Karen have retired, the organization has, in my opinion, been very unprofessional and uncaring. Since Karen’s retirement, approximately 3 years ago, when I arrive for my 6 month cleaning, the previous hygienist that I scheduled with after my last cleaning is no longer working there. So I am always starting with someone new. These experiences caused me to wonder why they kept leaving. Then the last straw was today when I was scheduled for a crown for which I reorganized my schedule and took time off work and when I arrived they told me they could not do the procedure today, which they reportedly knew could not be performed today and yet when I scheduled it, was told be it would not be a problem. And then they acted like they were doing me a favor by being honest that they could not do it. And were not the least bit apologetic for my wasted time. I will be looking for another provider.

Negative experience: Had to go back to get a filling redone. Filling still is not that great. Still sensitivity in the tooth. I didn’t like the office set up. I shouldn’t look over and see someone else getting a cleaning, work done or a an xray. No privacy!!! Never been to a dental office where the hygienist do the filling. All but the drilling i guess. Im from Michigan though maybe this is how its done in ohio. Either way Im finding a new dentist!

However for the past four years, Hires Dental Care has treated my family like family, and my children absolutely love coming to the dentist. Carol went above and beyond to thoroughly clean my teeth, make suggestions of target areas that need extra care, and showed me the condition of my tooth that needs a new crown. . She is an expert and definitely has years of experience. Very pleasant conversationalist. The staff was also excellent, from day, and efficient.

Negative experience: I always loved Dr. Hires but since he retired this dental office has not provided quality care. In the past two years, I’ve had here new dentists. I had two bridges completed in the past two years. Both bridges broke over the past year and the new dentist I saw wanted me to pay for a new bridge as it wasn’t her work. A good dentist/company stands behind the quality of their work. Insurance doesn’t cover repairs in the first two years because it rarely happens.

Positive experience: Maddy is the best dental hygienist--she provides stellar customer service as well as the highest quality dental care. Dr. YaYa had left for the day so Dr. Mike did my dental evaluation. I prefer not to have Dr. Mike in the future as I am not comfortable with his delivery/interaction (he kept touching my shoulder which made me very uncomfortable) and evaluation of my dental health. I had him two years ago and every little thing seems to be something that needs to be addressed (Dr. YaYa doesn't usually agree). In addition, he makes analogies to tires/windshields on a car. I'm a very educated and intelligent person so I don't need it compared to something else. I feel like when I take my car in for an oil change and they want to replace every filter, fluids, rotate tires, etc. This is not the type of dental care that I want. Thanks, Geoff Humphrys

Negative experience: I've been going to Hires for approximately 8 years - My objective was for gentle dental care - I received 5 star service and care and recommended Hires to SO many people (they used to reward you for referrals). About 3 years ago, something changed and I would have rated Hires as 4 star - I later realized Dr Hires retired and the practice had a turnover in dentists and all of a sudden we saw a different dentist each time. No problem - still good care. 6 months ago, dental cleaning happens and no Dr available for my exam, unusual but it was explained that as long as I get an exam once a year it was ok. Now 6 months later it's time for my clean and I show up and the dentist is gone for the day. I'm already in the 'chair' and told there is a "sub"! From where? Not sure? Cleveland I think! Ummm okayyyy it's not like I have a choice - remember when I said I went to Hires for gentle dentistry? The sub dentist grabbed my mouth, pulled my lip here and there, rattled around in my mouth and left. Didn't check x-rays and basically left me wondering if I had a split lip. Did he check my history? Nope. Did I frankly feel a little violated? Yup. It is sadly no longer the dentist facility that I and my family have loved for 8 years. It saddens me to give Hires a 2 star and now I must seek a new practice that will give me and my family gentle and consistent care. Its what we value most.

Fantastic experience: In all of my 59yrs of life, I can say it was a nice experience. Serita, Jess, and Hygienist Deja, was awesome. Dr. YaYa was so nice and thorough. I have finally found a Dentist I can trust. In spite of past experiences.

Fantastic experience: I had procrastinated visiting a dentist for too long. I made an appointment with Hires Dental and have only great things to say about my experience there. There was no pain, no suffering, no agony at all. They went out of their way to be sure I was comfortable every step of the way. I can't thank them enough for making it such a pain free experience. Thank you to the team at Hires Dental.

Fantastic experience: I would just like to say that my hygienist is the best!! I hate the dentist, and I needed a deep cleaning. I have seen Dasia ( I'm sorry if I spelled that wrong) twice now and I love her. I even went home yesterday and bragged to my husband about how great she is. She makes sure you are comfortable, she is gentle and her patient care is top notch!

Negative experience: This used to be a nice practice but it has gone way down hill. The office staff completely ghosted me. They refuse to let me make an appointment after paying off my debt with them. I've been calling for over a month now. Everyone I've spoken to has lied about calling me back to make an appointment. The staff isn't to be trusted and I wouldn't recommend. It's too bad because the actual dentists and hygienists do good work.
