Green Dental of Alexandria

Negative experience: I originally saw a dentist who worked on my teeth and took my money without completing the job correctly. After that experience, I decided to seek another dental office to ensure my dental work would finally be done properly and honestly. After doing my research, I decided to give Green Dental of Alexandria a try. I was genuinely excited and hopeful after speaking with someone from the office team. The young lady I spoke with asked what was most important to me when finding a provider. I told her honesty, quality, and making sure the work is done correctly the first time. I hung up feeling confident and optimistic about moving forward. Before scheduling my appointment, I specifically asked the office to confirm that all the work planned for that visit would be covered by my insurance. I asked them to verify everything and confirm with me beforehand. When the appointment was scheduled, the office staff confirmed that everything was covered. I felt reassured and ready to finally get this taken care of. On the day of my visit, the staff was courteous and professional. They took additional X-rays that were not covered, and I was informed at that time that I would need to pay for those. I agreed and paid for that service without hesitation. Now here is where the situation completely changed. Shortly after my appointment, I received a text stating that I had a balance of $204. I was shocked. I immediately thought, “Wait, what? I was told everything was covered.” The office had confirmed this prior to my visit. I called my insurance company, Cigna, right away. They informed me that the dental office had never contacted them before my appointment to verify coverage — they only called after my appointment had already taken place. That was extremely concerning to hear. Cigna even stated that if there had been an error on their end, they were willing to cover the balance, which honestly surprised me. I had Cigna and the dental office on a three-way call to clarify everything. Despite the insurance company being willing to take accountability if they had made a mistake, Green Dental of Alexandria was not willing to take any responsibility for failing to verify my coverage beforehand, even though they told me they had. The office later called me back and stated they were not willing to reduce the balance at all, even though this situation resulted from their lack of proper verification and miscommunication. What makes this especially disappointing is that from the very beginning, I clearly stated that honesty and quality care were most important to me. Unfortunately, my experience did not reflect that. The way this situation was handled left me feeling disheartened and unheard. The dentist’s oath represents professionalism, ethics, and patient-centered care — acting in the patient’s best interest, doing no harm, and treating patients with dignity and integrity. Sadly, this experience did not reflect those values. I truly wanted this office to be the right fit for me. Instead, I am left feeling disappointed and misled.

Fantastic experience: I am of limited means but I still want to take the best care I can of my dental health. Green Dental’s staff is always trying to help me succeed.

Fantastic experience: I love Dr. Park, her experienced technicians and team at Green Dental! Dr Park is great with children, excellent with cosmetic dentistry & provides a forward-thinking preventative approach to her practice. I enjoy having my routine check up at least every 6 months and feel completely refreshed with my teeth cleanings every 3-4 months. Conveniently, Green Dental provides an annual insurance plan! The plan provides Patients with 2 annual teeth cleanings, an initial full set of x-rays to make sure you do not have any cavities, as well as, 20% off of any fillings or route canals. 5 Star Dental Care.

Fantastic experience: Stephani did a nice job on my cleaning recently, she was professional and positive, but very down to Earth at the same time, made me feel comfortable and kindly checked with me about pain or sensitivity before each part of the procedure, which I really appreciated. Felt like I got good feedback on my teeth and helpful advice on areas for improvement. Looking forward to next time.

Fantastic experience: Dr Park, medical assistant, front of the house, and the office manager were fantastic. They were so caring, friendly, and absolutely professional. Dr Park is the first dentist that really listened, cared, and explained so much in ONE visit. I was blown away with the information she shared with the importance of oral health and how it is connected to chronic diseases that we experience. She is so dedicated in ensuring that she hears all your concerns and helping you find the root problem(s). I wish I found her sooner. I am so glad I decided to go to her practice. I am definitely going to recommend her. I left my old dentist, and I am going to continue going to her practice.

Fantastic experience: My husband and I and our two minor children go to this practice. We drive from Arlington. I love that this is not your typical dental practice. It is an integrative practice which is very different once you know more about it. I have gone to the 2 other integrative dentists in NOVA but this is the best in the area. Dr. Park is very professional and accommodating. All the staff are very friendly as well.

Fantastic experience: Listen, I am the most scared of dentist and/or their waiting rooms. I have been to Green Dental and thus far I have not felt any pain from the doctor with exception of what I experience from my mouth. What the doctor says and how it is to be performed is exactly the way the Doctor previously tells you. I am glad 100% that we found Dr. Park and her staff. She is a very conscientious doctor. She leaves no stone uncovered. Try this place, you'll be glad you did.

I have been seeing so many holistic doctors online, follow so many of them too, all knowledgeable and most importantly don’t manage symptoms but instead get to the bottom of the problem, however, I could never find one near me. This day has finally come, I found Dr Park at Green Dental of Alexandria (thank you ChatGPT). We came to get an airway assessment, we left feeling like finally found the answers that we were looking for. The doctor amazed us, she is a “walking holistic dental encyclopedia”, the wisdom that she shared with us was priceless. We can’t wait to work with her and get airways issues resolved. She also has a great team. Mary was so helpful in preparing us for the appointment, she answered all of my questions, she followed up on items we discussed and was a true pleasure to work with. Highly recommend this dental practice.

Fantastic experience: This is the best dentist I've ever had. They use a truly integrative approach to dentistry. I've always had dental issues and cavities despite regular care of my teeth. They helped me identify the systemic issues and underlying causes of the dental challenges. While going to the dentist is never "fun", I don't dread it like I used to because I feel more empowered in preventing issues that seemed like a mystery in the past.

Fantastic experience: They did a great job cleaning my teeth. My dental hygienist meticulously cleaned my choppers. This practice has tried to upsell dental procedures. Most of the time I refused to do them. They have stopped. If they recommend something, then I suggest getting an opinion.

Negative experience: My experience with Green Dental was very disappointing. At my first visit, I was verbally told I had two infected molars that needed to be pulled, plus recommendations for a sleep study, orthodontic work, and an implant — yet nothing was given to me in writing. I had to beg for days just to get my X-rays, and every time I asked for an after-appointment summary, I was ignored. At one point, I was even told the doctor needed “a few days off to review her notes” before sending me anything, even though the diagnosis was already given. They referred me to their “specialist,” who charges $300 just for a consultation and doesn’t take insurance, to go over their findings of two infected teeth. That alone felt like a red flag. I decided to get a second opinion from a trusted endodontist — and was told I had zero infections. None. Based on that, I canceled all my appointments with Green Dental. After canceling, they asked me to send my specialist’s findings for their records, even though they never provided my own written summary in the first place. Between the lack of transparency, the push toward expensive out-of-pocket treatments, and the difficulty getting my own records, I cannot recommend this office. And they keep changing your appointments! Always get a second or even third opinion. Save your teeth — there are usually other solutions before jumping straight to extractions.

Positive experience: Green Dental is relentless about scheduling. They will call and text you—not just to remind you of your upcoming appointment, but to try to move you up and see if you want to come in sooner. Even with insurance that clearly only covers cleanings every six months, I still get outreach asking if I’d like to come in ahead of schedule. On the plus side, they are definitely proactive and there is no chance you’ll ever forget you have a dental appointment. The office staff is friendly and the clinicians do a thorough job. But if you’re someone who prefers fewer reminders and less pressure to adjust your calendar, be prepared for a lot of contact. If staying on top of dental visits is a challenge, this practice has you covered—and will make sure of it. If you like a little more breathing room between communications, just know what you’re signing up for.

Fantastic experience: Routine cleaning. Got a gr8 report. My hygienist, Jasmine, a floater, was the Best I have had my entire life which spans many decades. Quick, gentle, painless, comfortable. When I indicated cold sensitivity to the water, she apologized, decreased the time between suctioning the water and added a few seconds more to suction it & for me to regroup. I hope to see her there permanently! At the end, she reviewed my history out loud and advised the next appointments & encouraged me to continue the excellent care of my teeth . As usual Dr. Park is her sweet, never Rushed exemplary DDS at the helm of a great practice . All the staff is lovely. As always smiling and engaging. Fantastic experience: Dr Park and her staff are very competent and professional, treat me kindly and are always willing to go the extra mile from scheduling to cleaning. Christa, dental hygienist is amazing. They also do the oral microbiome testing which is taking dentistry to a new level. I switched from a conventional dentist where I always had to advocate for myself and refuse fluoride at each visit- at Green dental, they use safe dental materials and there is a big focus on prevention and no chemicals, which I love.

Negative experience: I am a longtime client. While I am usually pleased with the service provided, I was disappointed with my recent visit--which was an emergency appointment for a chipped tooth. The dentist refused to repair a small chip in my tooth, stating that Invisaligns were the permanent solution. While this may be true, this came across as a money grab to have me pay for a more expensive solution instead of simply repairing my tooth.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been coming to Green Dental for 18 months now; they are still amazing! Dr Park is knowledgable, gentle and kind. She explains everything. She is serious about patient comfort. The staff is professional, smart and funny. The front desk Team, Mary and Wasma (sp), are gold! They keep that place organized and smooth. No one likes going to the dentist, but Green Dental takes a lot of the stress away.

Fantastic experience: I was looking for a good biological dentist and found Green Dental. Very nice staff, calming environment, and aesthetically pleasing. They saved me from dealing with the average nonbiological dentistries that will merely fix the symptoms instead of giving you long lasting healthy processes and education. My experience has been great and this has become my main dentistry.

Negative experience: They get one star because on the hygienist I saw did a very good job with the cleaning. Beyond that, do not come to this office!!!! They tried to get me to do Invisalign for $10k and then at my next cleaning really pushed them and quoted it at $6k. I went to see an orthodontist to get another quote and they told me that my bite and alignment is perfect and they would never recommend Invisalign to me. This place pressured me so hard. It was very uncomfortable. Don’t go here unless you want to bleed cash for unnecessary services.

Fantastic experience: The front desk staff were very friendly and knowledgable. The clinical staff were impressive as they introduced me to the latest in dental technology. My dentist was very specific about my treatment plan and used photos and X-rays to explain my current condition and the reason for the need of up-coming treatment. I felt that everyone was very confident and caring.

My initial consultation addressed concerns regarding an overbite and teeth clenching. Marlene conducted the initial assessment, including dental x-rays and a bacterial analysis, a novel approach that provided a microscopic view of my oral health. This innovative method was impressive. Subsequently, Hygienist Rochelle performed a comprehensive cleaning and reviewed the bacterial analysis results, which were satisfactory. Dr. Park then conducted a thorough examination, revealing not only jaw misalignment but also its potential impact on other bodily functions. This comprehensive assessment was insightful. The findings suggest a possible correlation between my jaw misalignment and the migraines I have experienced since the seventh grade. I am optimistic about the potential for relief.

Negative experience: What a terrible dental office. I had called as a new patient to make an appointment for a consult for veneer removals as they have the technology to remove it safely. When I spoke to the receptionist she said yes they would be able to take care of that and I made sure this was the case as I did not want to pay for a consult and then be quoted 20k + for new veneers. Well, turns out that’s exactly what they did. I went to the clinic, they seem so desperate for money that they charge you before your service. My natural teeth were in great condition, however, they told me they would only remove if I did veneers with them, only for 35k. I would never come here again, I went to another dental office and they did the job with no problem and thank heavens for them. As for this dental office, stay away. I’ve provided the pictures of my removal from the other dental office. Wish I could give it 0 stars

Fantastic experience: I've been going to Green Dental for years. Great staff results in a pleasant experience every time. It's conveniently located by King Street Metro so I can get there via public transportation which I love.

Positive experience: I think it’s time to find another dental practice. I’ve been a patient for many years but things seem to have gone downhill at this practice. From a surprise $5K bill for my husband after he was told it was covered by his insurance, to the quality of care going down, I don’t feel that wholistic health approach is a priority here anymore. At my recent checkup, I was told I needed a CT scan to evaluate potential root inflammation as cause of discomfort. It was at the end of the work day and the office manager was called to perform my scan. She seemed confused while operating the machine and setting things up, then proceeded to perform the scan twice, after which Dr.Park informed me that none of those scans were good, and that all her medical assistants left for the day so no one else can do the scan, so I should come back another day for yet another (3rd) CT scan attempt. That’s not very healthy or good for you, so this lack of care and allowing someone untrained to attempt a scan twice on me just in case it worked, is unacceptable and not in line with the wholistic health philosophy that Green Dental once promoted and got me as a long term patient before. Time to move on.

Fantastic experience: I have always had great experiences at Green Dental. Dr. Park is an excellent dentist who cares very much about her patients. I would very highly recommend her. I have always liked the technicians who work there as well. The last 2 times I've visited I've had Haley as my technician. She is both very professional and highly personable with a great sense of humor. She actually makes a visit to the dentist enjoyable.

Dr. Park and staff were knowledgeable, skilled, cordial, and explained well. Approach to planning dental therapy is science based and patient specific. Office spotless, comfortable and relaxing. Green Dental is not your grandfather’s dentist. Allow time for parking.

Fantastic experience: I’ve seen many dentist’s over the years from west coast to east coast, and in the mid-west. Dr Park is the best dentist. She cares about her patients and I know she will always ensure I’m at ease, and comfortable with any type procedure I need to have done.

Fantastic experience: I could not be more pleased with the care I’ve received from Dr. Park and her team. She is gentle, kind, and incredibly competent. After (literal) decades of patchwork fixes and temporary solutions, I decided to work with Dr. Park to solve my dental problems once and for all. The work was expensive and it took almost a full year from start to finish. However, the results of her work (in the pictures below, taken in May 2021 and September 2022) speak for themselves. At each step of the way, Dr. Park and her team were there to patiently answer all my questions in full detail. She was upfront and honest about the cost of the work (time and money) as well as the benefits (full functionality of my teeth and improved aesthetics). What’s even more important to me is that my teeth are no longer a source of anticipatory stress. Given the patchwork nature of my previous work, if any one component failed then it would create an emergency situation. I would have to pay to have the other components repaired around the failure (another set of temporary solutions). I could potentially be without functional teeth while the repairs were underway--which might take months. This meant I had to be very careful with what I ate and how I ate it. But now I can eat carrots and crunchy bread as aggressively as I want! =) I am so glad I trusted Dr. Park with my dental health and cannot recommend her highly enough. In the last two years I’ve been in her office for (seriously) more than 30 appointments and the level of care I’ve received from everyone has always been excellent. Marlena, the dental assistant is incredibly warm and always put me at ease in the chair. Haley, the dental hygienist, is a delight and makes teeth cleanings fun. The women at the front desk (Amiah and another whose name I don’t know—forgive me!) are welcoming and always happy to answer questions related to appointments or billing.

Fantastic experience: I started going to Dr. Park soon after she opened her doors. Over the years, she's provided excellent care for me, encouraging me to be proactive with my oral health and fix the root of problems. It was Dr. Park who first identified my airway as the cause of symptoms I wouldn't have normally associated with my mouth. I underwent an airway evaluation and received an oral appliance, which improved my sleep, stopped my nighttime teeth grinding, and reduced my jaw and neck tension. I feel like the office is always advancing and offering new services and the latest innovations in dental care and technology. The technicians are always friendly and gentle. Dr. Park has superior technique when it comes to typical dental procedures like fillings and onlays. All the work she's done on my teeth have been perfect and never failed. She's the best!

Positive experience: We took advantage of a summer special for new patients and got a very thorough exam which was combined with a cleaning. The facility is state-of-the-art and coveniently located. Fantastic experience: This is the best dental clinic I have ever been to. The administrative staff, hygienists, and the doctor are all wonderful. The Doctor has the best bedside manner. Everyone is so pleasant and courteous. Traveling from Fredericksburg to Alexandria to receive dental care from Green Dental is worth it.

Fantastic experience: Dr Park is great. I have been under Dr Park care for a year and the service has been outstanding. She has been helping me with TMJ, sleep apnea, braces, and other issues. I am extremely satisfied with her care. The staff is caring, cordial, and professional. I love that they font use toxics in the practice.

Positive experience: What makes a good dentist and the dentist's staff? They are confident and also very friendly. If you've been there on a second visit you are greeted by your name. This dentist and staff, calm your nerves as well

Fantastic experience: Dr Park and her team always take good care of their patients and offer a wide variety of services to help you understand your health and practices. I’ve appreciated the advice on changes I could make (e.g. different mouthwash to try) and punctuality of the office.

Negative experience: This was not a good experience at all. Staff were rushing through my entire appointment which was only an exam btw. Told me I had to pay over $1000 in order to get serviced. I would not recommend unless you have time to waste and money to spend.

Fantastic experience: I needed a crown to be put back in and Dr Park and her staff did a great job . I’m a chemotherapy patient and I was impressed that Dr Park called my oncologist to check my lab reports and blood counts . She gave me an antibiotic before she did the work . She also used my perfectly good old crown and did not try to talk me into a new one . I’ll be going back. Marlene on her staff was great .

Fantastic experience: I recently moved here so I don't have an established dentist yet.. I broke my tooth at work and stopped by Green Dental and they were able to see me immediately to help fix my tooth! I was in and out quickly, they didn't even have to numb me. Amazing service - thank you!

Positive experience: Don’t take google reviews lightly and want to start with the positive: Absolutely love Dr. Park and the rest of the medical team - they are kind and knowledgeable, and I’ve never had the impression they were trying to get me to undertake dental treatment I didn’t genuinely need. That said, their billing department is a nightmare. As long as Mary was there they were expensive (2-3 x more than most other local providers depending on the procedure) but at least they were fair and claimed it was because of the insurance.. I’m not sure if she’s moved on or there’s just a secondary new person, but the past year and a half or so they’ve been even worse than usual - again don’t know that this is coming from Dr. Park but I’m about to have to pay to replace a crown that failed in less than two years which is contrary to what basically any other dentist’s office would do. The worst part was the attitude of the billing rep - she acted like it was my fault the defective crown failed, that people should be paying $1K+ every few months month for their teeth, and that she was doing me a favor running it through my insurance. Really pretty horrid. The worst part is this is the second time this has happened (with a different crown) in a two year time span. Previously, when Mary handled everything if Dr. Park said it was free of charge it was free of charge.

Positive experience: Everyone that I interacted with at Green Dental of Alexandria were nice and thoughtful, I have not had any work done yet but every step going forward was well explained.

Fantastic experience: Admittedly, I arrived for the first appointment flustered and confused as to procedure. Mary and the other two receptionists were understanding and helpful. Dr. Park was kind enough to give me a generous amount of time in which she explained about biologic dentistry and specifically how and why she would proceed with treatment. I was impressed by and appreciative of their compassionate attitude. I think that it is quite likely that when my in-house insurance with my present dentist is up I will pursue treatment at Green Dental.

Fantastic experience: Came in for a cleaning. Seamless treatment by Raquel who is new to the practice having been lured from another practice. Of course the facility is lovely, clean and airy. Dr. Park always checks her patients at the end of their treatments and never rushes. The only distasteful issue was the person at the front desk who tried to hard sell me to pay that day for other treatments and had quickly looked up my Care Credit to announce that I have $3000 available to use!) She doesn't know my present financial condition and whether I could or wanted to take on more debt! I guess she was doing her job. Just be less pushy please

Negative experience: This dentist is a money grab. I went to see her for tooth pain and non surprisingly I needed a root canal and crown. In addition she developed a full treatment plan as she claimed to have found multiple things wrong with my teeth and gums that need fixing cavities all over the place, new and replacing crowns, gum treatments, deep cleaning and a bunch and upsold a bunch of unnecessary procedures she made to seem urgent. It totaled around 12000$ with insurance. I told her for now I could only afford the one that I was seeking care for in the first place which was infected and painful and will resume the other treatment when I switch to better insurance. Well it turns out she put a crown on the tooth next to the one that was hurting/infected and naturally this cause the infection to flare. I looked like a chipmunk (2 weeks before my wedding day). So I had to go back urgently and to get a root canal and crown on the correct tooth. I’m guessing she knew what she was doing and did that so I would have to come back and pay for a second crown. Also she said I needed a deep cleaning which I did understand but it was very expensive and was not covered by my insurance and I needed to save for the other thousands of dollars on “high priority dental work”. When I asked if I could just have the routine cleaning insurance does pay for. I was told they can’t do that because I need that thousand dollar deep cleaning instead. So wasn’t even able to get a simple cleaning. I ended up seeing 2 others dentists for second opinions and they agreed I did not need multiple fillings and crowns and certainly. It 12000$ worth of urgent dental work!. My dentist said she was very interested to see the treatment plan Dr. Park wrote for me. Oh and when she did do my root canal she doesn’t use enough lidocaine which is terrifying. Even when I said I usually need extra doses because it wears of and is less potent for me. Her website advertises oral sedation but her asst said it would be 1000$ when I asked and when I asked Dr. Park later she said she doesn’t do that. So it is not really real sedation dentistry like she advertises. (They also delete bad reviews so saving in a word document and reposted if it ends up deleted)

Fantastic experience: I believe Anthony was who helped me and he was so sweet. Also honestly, that was the best cleaning I’ve had it was very thorough and I felt my teeth were still smooth after which sometimes I don’t feel.

Negative experience: Please be aware of this dentist’s office. They are a scam. They will mislead you regarding services and once that pay isn’t paid they will send your account to collections. They are so full of it. They signed me up for the oral appliance when I never gave my permission to the doctor but they claimed since they already ordered it I had to do the service that was not fully covered by my insurance. They will not be getting a cent from me and I will be fighting that collection charge.

Fantastic experience: I haven't been to a dentist in a while, so I was nervous about what to expect about this place but seeing the reviews, I decided to give Green Dental a chance. I'm glad I did. I had to do a bit of scheduling beforehand to get things lined up but I managed to get an exam and cleaning scheduled in the same day. It's a good thing as well since I needed to discuss some work and a referral to an outside service. The staff were all very professional and kind; I didn't feel rushed and I felt like I had all my questions answered in a reasonable amount of time. Dr. Park was also very knowledgeable and I feel confident in her care and the rest of the staff's going forward.

Positive experience: I was expecting a better service. I spent over two hours at the Green Dental Office and Doctor Park saw me for only two minutes. I am not sure about that. I was given some gum disease medication without letting me know what all the items in the paper bag were. I ended up paying over $120.00 just for these products. BTW, they are disgusting.... I am still confused really. It was not the best welcoming for a new patient really. I am very disappointed.

Fantastic experience: I had the best experience ever. I'm always very nervous but for the first time I felt comfortable in a dental appointment. The people were great. The experience was pleasant from beginning with the front desk to the end. I'm very satisfied. Thank you Green Dental.

Positive experience: Really lovely staff. Very detailed and thorough. Only complaint is about not being transparent about cost of recommended treatment. The dental hygienist told me she was going to recommend a certain mouthwash for me, and later handed me a bag with a bottle in it. I assumed it was a sample as she did not mention any price. However, at checkout, I was charged $35 for it. Had I known it was that much, I would have declined or asked for an alternative recommendation. Please be considerate of patients’ financial sensitivities and be up front about the cost of any add ins and be prepared to offer lower cost alternatives.

Fantastic experience: Everyone is so kind and gentle. I have issues in the past with dentists, I let them know my experiences in the past and they made me feel so comfortable. Definitely recommend them!

Positive experience: On a scale of 1 (worst) - 10 (best): 1. Ease of making an appointment and filling out paperwork: 8 2. Facilities: 8 3. Staff: 9 4. Hygienist: 10 5. Cleaning: 8 6. Dental Exam: 5 - My biggest disappointment. Dentist came in and looked only at my x-ray and photos. Made a few comments and was ready to bolt the room. I had to keep her there and ask questions. Not one time did she look in my mouth. For the amount of an examination and overall what I will pay for future work, I would have expected at least 1 minute exam from her.

Fantastic experience: I absolutely LOVE this dentist. I live in Stafford but drive the 50min to Alexandria just to go here. The environment and customer service is top notch! All the staff and especially the dental hygienist are so friendly and down to earth. This was my second time going in (for my 6month cleaning) and the dental hygienist remembered what we talked about last time (6 months prior) and asked about those things. If you come to this dentist office, you are not just another money maker to them-they definitely make you feel welcomed and cared for, they take their time, answer all questions, etc. Beyond the outstanding customer service, I love the fact that they have the most advanced dental technology and eco friendly products that don’t harm/aren’t toxic to our body. I’ve been learning a lot about non-toxic living, and how to live to support our bodies and finding the root cause of problems vs a band-aid fix. This dental company seems to align with that as well which is another reason why I love them so much. I Cannot recommend them enough!!!!
