Fantastic experience: Absolutely love Dr. Bagai and all the associates at Smart Smile Dental! For once, my teeth are getting proper care within my budget and with the utmost gentleness and patience. I highly recommend! UPDATE: my Invisalign followup went SO well! I can now easily floss between my teeth when just two months ago, it was a painful challenge and experience. I have consulted other dentists before about Invisalign, but was always told I was never a candidate. Dr. Bagai proved that was a lie, and now my smile is already healthier because of her care. Update #2: I finished my Invisalign treatment and finally have healthy teeth for the first time in my life! Other dentists advised that I was never a candidate, but Dr. Bagai has proved that I was a perfect candidate and the results back that up just 10 months later! Go see her for Invisalign and follow instructions and you can also have much success and health!

Fantastic experience: Really good patient care and service! Everyone here made me feel reassured and had answers to every question I asked :) I personally had a little difficulty with my procedure but staff helped me through that and everything went perfectly! 10/10 am recommending

Negative experience: I don’t usually write reviews unless I feel it’s necessary to warn others. I would strongly recommend avoiding this dental office for the following reasons: 1. In my experience, they did not treat me like a patient and saw me ONLY as source of revenue. I was told they were “in-network” with my insurance, which turned out not to be accurate. I encourage anyone considering this office to verify everything directly with their insurance provider and get all cost and coverage details IN-WRITTING from this office before proceeding. Do NOT take their word for it. 2. This office is like a cockroach, doesn't matter how many times I have told them to do not contact me but they still contact you and try to pull you into their office to trick you into some service that you don't need. 4. This isn't a big deal for me but it might be for you. I showed up 15-min before my appointment time and had to wait for almost an hour and half to be seen by a dental hygienist and then the doctor. 3. Overall, the experience this office lacks ethics and felt more sales-driven than patient-focused. I would advise others to be cautious and carefully review any recommended services before agreeing to treatment. Don’t get fooled by the doctor’s sweet talk its more a sales pitch kind of felt like I am buying a car rather than genuine dental care! I hope this helps others make an informed decision.

Fantastic experience: Dr Lori Bagai is a wonderful dentist. Not only is she knowledgeable in her field, but she is the most caring and compassionate- she really cares for her patients. Highly recommend Smart Smile Dental!

Negative experience: Update Feb 2026 STILL receiving calls from this business so clearly not just a "glitch". I would block the number but they call from multiple different lines. Update April 2024. I am *still* getting emails from them. Good office and experience while we were there. But be prepared to be bombarded with phone calls and emails long after moving from the area. I've emailed them multiple times but they still send them.

Negative experience: This place deserves zero stars! Bagai is condescending rude unprofessional who talks down to you and pushes expensive services. Staff does not know what they are doing, they seem inexperienced. I wouldn't be surprised if everyone is a new employee. Aggressive marketing staff. Do NOT let them get hold of your phone number. They will never stop calling.

Negative experience: This is the worst emergency dental office I have ever been to. They told me I needed my tooth removed and replace with an implant for a quote of over $10k. I found it ridiculous, so I waited one day to see my honest dentist. She saved the tooth and put a crown on it. Done. Do yourself a favor and go to Dr. Hablani at Comfort Dental on Red Hill Avenue in Tustin.

Negative experience: Edit: Most people there are nice, however they push maximum treatment in a very salesman way. Beware unnecessary recommendations that they try to push on you with no time to think. Every procedure suddenly had a "sale that expired the very next day!" and needed immediate action because they're extending the sale just for you!!! Happened multiple times. So shady.

Negative experience: I went for 2 crowns already approved by my insurance and former dentist before I moved to Orange. After making an appointment and before the appointment date I began receiving text solicitations from this dentist regarding promotions about teeth straightening and other services. On appointment day I spent over three hours with an army of staffers claiming to be doing extensive research and evaluation regarding my case. I was then asked to schedule another appointment at their office for another opinion. Before the next appointment day I called and asked to have their out of town third opinion person to review the extensive scans and x-rays they had used for the first opinion rather than waste my time in person. I asked for them to call or email me back with the final opinion and costs. Instead of 2 crowns, they recommended an extraction and implant and crown for one tooth and a root canal and crown for the other tooth. They refused to give me the costs for their services other than to let me know it could be financed which could be discussed at another appointment date. I asked several more times for costs taking into account that my insurance would pay for part of the services. They again refused to contact my insurance and give me costs. I feel like this office and the dentist are a money first organization with a staff of slick up-sellers intent on extracting the most money from clients along with their teeth! Bottom line is another dentist is now completing the two crowns, one with a root canal and no extraction or implant and the other with just the crown saving me many thousands of dollars all covered by my insurance company. BEWARE of this firm and get another opinion. Up-sellers have no place in dentistry. Follow-up: 1-12-26 Unbelievable, this office has a marketing department that cold call you claiming you missed your appointment and want to reschedule. Since posting my review, I have received probably 6-7 calls. They must keep track of how often they recycle numbers and you never get taken off their list. I'm on the national and local DO NOT CALL LISTS... QUIT CALLING ME!!!!

Fantastic experience: I have never felt comfortable going to the dentist. Today was a whole different experience. When I walked into the office it was as if a sense of calm took over, a very clean and comfortable office. The staff greeted me and took me back to a treatment area where Dr. Bagai introduced herself to me. My nerves were at ease. We discussed the treatment plan that was prepared. I have never had a doctor so willing to work with me. I am delighted to say I am now a satisfied client of Smart Smile Dental. Dr Bagai is wonderful.

Fantastic experience: I went to Smart Smile today for the first time and met with Dr. Bagai. LOVED her! She’s very sweet, funny and yet very professional. I chose them due to all the positive reviews and comments that I read online. The staff was also very pleasant and professional.

Negative experience: We did not have a good experience in this office. My husband was seen on an emergency basis and told a treatment plan. His appt was at 8 am and at 5 pm he was sent home with incomplete treatment and no plan set on how to finish. When I asked during two calls in the day how it was going I was told “fine” when it was anything but fine. Upon calling at 8 am the next day to find out the plan (since they didn’t bother to discuss or set up ) we waited an hour and a half for a response and was told to follow up the next week. Meanwhile the patient is mid root canal and in pain. We were charged more than $500 for what amounted to no treatment and this dentist could have at minimum waived the exorbitant xray fee. I can see they pay a lot of money to show up high in web search for emergency care - but I cannot say we received satisfactory care nor a desire to make it right by them. My husband is a sweet man and didn’t push for them to do the right thing with the financial part ; but I have 15 years dental office experience and I can tell you this part and the treatment was wrong on many levels. I know the unexpected can happen in dental and it’s all about how it’s handled. This was handled poorly and unprofessionally. He suffered needlessly and once we went elsewhere was cared for completely in less than an hour. I feel sick about what happened to him in this office. Bot answers reviews with boiler plate responses ☹️

Negative experience: They won't stop calling us no matter how many times we ask them too. We block their numbers and they call from a different phone number. They disguise their high pressure sales tactics as concern "we haven't heard from you and we are concerned". Lies, lies, and more lies. Their technician had a hair on his glove and stuck in wife's mouth. He must of run his hand through his hair. They touch all their equipment with their rubber gloves on not caring that they next are sticking it in your mouth. Watch them you will see for yourself.

Fantastic experience: I am mid way through an intense bit of work and I know I’m in very good hands here. They are top notch professionals with a very easy to work financing program and inventive, cost saving dental options that are different than the sophomoric efforts of younger dentists, hot to install implants on anyone with the credit. Definitely the “second opinion” you want if you are not sure about the plan your fast talking, slick looking dentist is trying to hook you into for the next 15 years of payment. But what do I know… a lot. They are doing a TON of work on me and have been able to expedite several appointments in that I’m an out of town er. All a round Astounding and amazingly, affordable. Complete restorations, fit to your budget and worked around your life. So glad I found them, won’t go elsewhere - period. I’m trying to give 5 stars but El Googo is only allowing me 4 stars. What ever. Max stars mmm k.

Fantastic experience: I have been going to Dr. Bagai's office for almost a year now, and my smile has never looked better!! When I first went to Dr. Bagai, I knew I had many dental problems that needed attention, and I didn't have dental insurance. So, trust me, I was not a happy camper after going through my evaluation and seeing how much work I needed to get done and the cost. However, after going in a few times, I realized that she was honestly giving me the complete picture of what I needed to do to get my dental health back on track. As some of the reviews mention, she is assertive and motherly in her approach. She gives it to you straight and honest, which is sometimes not easy to hear, but I believe she does so with your best interest at heart. While I did not want to undergo the significant investment into my dental health, I am thankful she pushed me to do so. I haven't had dental insurance for a few years now, which has caused me to prioritize money over my oral health. Bouncing around through multiple dentists, I've had what I thought were excellent dentists perform work on my teeth. However, instead of guiding me to address my issues fully, they understood my monetary concerns and performed just the essential procedures to address my issues. While this was preferable to my wallet then, it cost me much more down the road than if I had just done all the work that I needed. Therefore, I am grateful for Dr. Bagai's sometimes tough motherly approach because I know she is looking out for my dental health in the long term. Thanks to Dr. Bagai, I can now say that my dental health has never been better, nor have I ever been so confident in my smile :) Many thanks to her wonderful staff, my main man Freddy, and all her exceptional specialists who have helped me along the way!

Fantastic experience: I had a filling done from another dental office that was causing me a lot of pain and discomfort. I tried going back to the original dentist but they were closed Friday-Sunday and I couldn't wait till then. So i called around to see if any office can squeeze me in and the only place that could was this location. Not only did they resolve my tooth issue they accommodated to my short notice and squeezed me in immediately. Thank you!

Negative experience: Truly a disappointing visit. I came in for a general exam, x-rays, and cleaning, which took much longer than it should have. The x-rays were very discomforting and took nearly 40 minutes. It seemed like the staff was unprofessional and not trained properly. They charged me before they did any work. The staff was friendly, but it did not feel genuine. At the end of the appointment they wanted to charge me $650 to fill one cavity, and the dentist said I had too much sugar in my diet. After I explained I do not have any sugar in my diet at all, no soda, no sweets, no energy drinks, and extremely low amount of sugar in a regular diet as I’m very conscious of what I put into my body, it felt like the doctor was debating with me and claiming that I was not telling the truth. She was condescending, to the point where she said “I know teenage boys, like my son, and they can be slobs.” I am a grown man, and she was quite disrespectful. I do not recommend ever coming to this dentistry, as it is over-priced, lacks professionalism, and lacks genuine care for their customers.

Fantastic experience: I broke my wisdom tooth and I was in horrible pain. I called the office and I got taken care of immediately with an extraction . The staff is amazing. Very helpful and caring. I felt at home.

Negative experience: Update 2024: The trust was broken. I've hesitated on doing an update. I haven't been back since. The big money maker is selling treatments that "Your Insurance does not cover". They get you into $2K debt with "Care Credit Zero Interest 6 or 12 months" the deal sounds great, right!!! What really got to me is the unethical act to charge my dental insurance (and finding out when I downloaded my dental insurance app..) meanwhile I was paying off the credit card bill for a dental treatment "My insurance did not cover"??. The gentleman who seems to be the salesman.. you'll know who it is when he talks to you. The transaction goes so fast you don't see it coming. of course, you are vulnerable and trust they are looking out for you. All I can say is have them run things by your dental insurance before starting treatment if possible. Dental offices usually sell you upgrade treatments...that is not looking out for you. No transparency is deception. UPDATE: Arianne and Christy super awesome. Love this place.it’s been about 2 years already. I Highly Recommend it. Best Dental experience ever. I highly recommend this place. Staff and Dr. Lori are super nice. I’m glad I came.

Negative experience: My experience at this dentist was extremely disappointing and I feel compelled to share my story in the hopes that others do not have to endure the same negative experience. I initially signed up for an online X-ray service for around $50, but upon arrival, I was informed that the cost would be over $200. Despite feeling misled, I proceeded with the X-ray as I was in pain and needed to understand the issue. Unfortunately, my interaction with this dentist only went downhill from there. I underwent an extraction and root canal, which I later left me with tooth trauma that hasn’t gone away 2 months later. The owner, Dr. Baggai, creates a hostile environment for her employees, constantly berating and belittling them. It was clear that the staff was fearful of her, and it was evident that they were only there out of necessity. Witnessing an employee being reprimanded for something as trivial as adjusting a pillow highlighted the toxic work atmosphere created by Dr. Baggai. Not only was the environment unsettling, but the lack of professionalism from Dr. Baggai made my experience even more distressing. She made derogatory comments about the state of my teeth, adding to my existing insecurities. I made a vow to myself to complete the services I had paid for and never return to this dental practice again. I deeply regret choosing this dentist based on a Google search, and I urge others to consider their options carefully before seeking treatment here.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Bagai is the kindest person I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting and was so patient and understanding. Definitely recommend coming here for any dental needs, even if it’s been a while and you’re nervous! The environment is warm and welcoming

Negative experience: CHECK YOUR BILL! On my first visit here I was told I had two cavities by Dr Bagai- my first cavities in 20+ years. Then she told me I had to pay for the fillings in advance. I paid and came back the next week to have them filled. A different dentist filled them but said they were so small he had difficulty even finding them, said I didn’t even need to be numbed. He said he wouldn’t have recommend any fillings if he’d known in advance. When I got the final bill from my insurance they had over charged me almost $100. I called to get my money back the lady said I was one of the only patients that noticed, she said “most patients fortunately don’t read their bill”, she didn’t even know how to reimburse me. After 3 weeks of fighting she finally put the money back on my card. Avoid this place at all costs. They are a rip off and provide bad service. Also they give you a strange religious book written by Dr Bagai at each appointment- Telling you how to be a better person, she clearly doesn’t practice what she preaches.

Fantastic experience: The Invisalign my daughter got has made a world of difference for her even more is the entire staff. Dr Lori and her team are simple amazing like family to us. While we are excited to be done with our visalign treatment soon we will miss our regular visits to the office. Came back for follow up and had some fillings and other medical issues we needed to address and I absolutely love this office and the staff and Dr’s because they are so kind and caring. They truly listen and find the best way to handle everyone involved in the process and as a mother this means the world to me. I never feel pressured into procedures and they respect how I parent and how each child responds differently to treatments. This office truly is amazing. Update: Love my Invisalign I truly appreciate the support as I agreed to take this journey and invest in my dental health. Love the people in this office so very much. 3/20/2024 update: I am a little over 10 weeks away from being done with Invisalign!! I am so excited as the results I keep having are simply amazing. The staff at SmartSmile are always warm and friendly and very helpful. Dr Bagai has been amazing every step of the way. I could not ask for a nicer place to be a patient and I am truly blessed to have found them.

Fantastic experience: Had an emergency dental issue for my mother in law. They scheduled us to come in within the hour, dentist had fantastic bedside manner, and was very ethical and cost effective. I’ve seen a lot of clinics in my life and this is one of the best.
