Fantastic experience: This was my first dental visit with Mangum Family Dentistry. As far as the service is concerned, I would recommend them one hundred percent. Why? Because the staff is extremely kind, polite, respectful, and knowledge too. They definitely connect with the patient and make sure that you're comfortable as well. Fantastic experience: After years of being so fearful going to the dentist, I now go with a smile, because I’m in caring hands. While Alex is assisting Dr Mangum, she has her hand on my shoulder patting it to let me concentrate on that rather than what the Dr is doing. Dr Mangum is always aware of my breathing and any sign I make of discomfort or stress and stops. Then they do whatever I need to feel better to go on. This is so relative, as I was there yesterday for the beginning of my two implants. And I had no pain later that day or last night. It was a pleasant surprise after so much work. I’d highly recommend this group and Dr for anyone needing a new dentist

Fantastic experience: Moved to Denton in Aug 2022. Needed a new dentist and saw the practice recommended in Denton's Best. I made an appointment and was pleasantly surprised how easy it was to schedule one. Dr. Mangum and his staff are very pleasant and professional and a pleasure to interact with. Very welcoming atmosphere. 05 February 2026 Part of my tooth chipped off...easily scheduled an appointment and a filling was put in. Staff as always easy to work with...contacted insurance and explained my portion. Dr. Mangum also explains the process as well as the post process steps. Try them for yourselves! Update 17 April. Above review was my wife's. I had an appointment the next day. The above applies to me as well. Update 25 October We went for our checkup. Can now update our information online which is a benefit. Staff are friendly and accommodating. Update 12 January 2024 Went for the second of two crown replacements...easy to schedule and the staff are very welcoming...make an appointment and see it for yourselves 28 April 2024 Visited for regular cleaning...no issues, easy to work with, everyone makes you welcome and feel valued 29 October 2024 Visited for regular cleaning...all went as planned, easy to schedule future appointments...Dr. Mangum and staff are very pleasant to work with, making casual conversation in addition to the work stuff. Easy to see why they got top votes for Dentist in Denton. No one looks forward to dental appointments but they make the experience fun. Schedule an appointment and see. 06 May 2025 Wife and I went for cleaning and check up...same as before Dr. Mangum and staff are welcoming and nice to work with, answer all questions... As stated before, no one likes dentist appointments but they do make it a pleasant experience.

Fantastic experience: Jan.2026 I had to have a filling and a cleaning. Dr. Mangum is very comforting and informs you on everything he is doing. Taylor cleaned my teeth and was her awesome self as always! MAY 2025 Once again I am happy with my visit. The front desk are always welcoming! Taylor does an awesome job cleaning my teeth and we have nice conversation. Dr. Mangum popped in and told me hello. Always nice to speak with him! 5 stars once again! Feb. 2025 As always my visit was great! Taylor is always a blessing I am thankful for because I am always so nervous about my visit. She is very comforting while cleaning my awful teeth. I started going to the Dentist late in my life and I'm glad I have the team at Mangum Dentistry. Dr. Mangum is always upbeat and friendly. OCT 2024 My dentist visit was awesome from start to finish. I had to make an unplanned appointment. John was so kind and worked me in for as soon as he could. Inez, I'm sure I did not spell it correctly, the sweet girl that walked me back to the room was so sweet! Dr. Mangum looked at my problem that I thought I had and assured me it was fine. He also did not charge me for his time and I actually cried because of the kindness he showed me. Taylor cleaned my teeth just as awesome as always! Thank you John, Inez, Taylor and Dr. Mangum for making me feel so at ease in a very scary place☺️ AUG 2024 Once again I am impressed with the whole staff. The front desk help are welcoming and kind. Taylor did an awesome job cleaning my teeth. Dr.Mangum and I talked some baseball before he started my exam and I always enjoy that. April 2024 Taylor is very good at her job! She is fun to talk with but also takes her job very seriously. The sweet lady at the front desk answered lots of questions for me about my step Mother's teeth and never acted put out about doing it. Pleasant visit and I do not like going to the dentist. Jan.2024 Once again I have no complaints. Taylor does a great job cleaning my teeth. I have great fears and she is very calming and professional. Dr.Mangum is very easy to talk to and makes me feel at ease. Front desk staff are also welcoming and friendly. I live in Arkansas and still make my appts. around visiting Texas family November 2023 Taylor did an awesome job cleaning my teeth! The whole staff makes me feel very comfortable. Jan.2023 Once again my cleaning went great! The entire staff always put me at ease. Oct.24, 2022 Another wonderful visit! Bree did a great job cleaning my teeth! I met Dr. Mangum and he was very friendly and made me feel comfortable.Sarah at the front desk was outstanding as usual! July 26th, 2022. I was a little nervous knowing some of the staff retired but everything was great. Sara at the front desk is wonderful and the dental assistant( sorry can't remember her name) even checked on me and made sure I was at ease with the changes. My new dental hygienist was sweet and calming. I also was able to congratulate Dr.P on his retirement. I did shed a tear because he will be missed! Once again the staff was top notch! I was told I needed a crown. I am going through a rough time right now in my life and I was a little overwhelmed when told the price without insurance. Sara at the front desk was overly kind and made me feel so much better. I wouldn't want to go anywhere else. From the moment I walk in until the time I leave every person in there impresses me in some way! Tuesday Sept 14th at my dentist appointment Dr. Pomerance's staff were top notch as always! I feel like family and that means a lot to me. Dr. Pomerance is always very kind and pleasant. Dec. 16th 2021 I had another wonderful dentist appointment! They are all like family and I love catching up with them every 3 months! Dentist visits make me very a anxious and they always make me feel at ease. July 18th 2023 All new staff that I had to meet today. I was very nervous! They were all wonderful. The front desk help was very kind. Taylor was a delight. She cleaned my teeth better than they had been cleaned in months. The Dr. was very kind and made me feel at ease.

Fantastic experience: I lost a filling on the evening of Dec. 30th. I called Dr. Mangum's office on the 31st hoping they could do something for me and left a message. They returned my call and scheduled me to come in because they would be open 1/2 day on the 31st. I went in and they had a full number of clients but they got me in, filled the large hole in the tooth and sent me home. I'm very thankful that they were able to meet my need on a day before a holiday when most professionals have closed down.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Mangum has been my primary dentist for about a year and a half, and I can confidently say he is the best dentist I’ve ever worked with. During this time, I’ve had a wide range of treatments done including fillings, crowns, and root canals and every experience has been excellent. Dr. Mangum is extremely knowledgeable and highly skilled, and it shows in his work. He always takes the time to answer my questions and clearly explain each procedure, often walking me through what the treatment will look like so I feel fully informed and comfortable. That level of transparency and patience makes a huge difference. He is genuine, professional, and truly cares about the quality of his work and his patients’ comfort. I’ve had zero issues with my crowns or fillings, which speaks volumes about the precision and care he puts into his treatments. I don’t normally write Google reviews, but Dr. Mangum and the team at Mangum Family Dentistry absolutely deserve the recognition. I would easily and highly recommend him to anyone looking for a trustworthy, skilled, and thorough dentist.

Fantastic experience: I love my dentist’s office! When Dr Pomerance retired, I wondered if my experience would change - but it hasn’t. Dr Mangum is fantastic! They get me in quickly if I have an issue and don’t suggest more work than I actually need. Dr Mangum explains what he’s doing, step by step. He’s as gentle as possible and treats you like an individual - not just a patient. He even (personally) calls me the evening after a procedure to check on me. His staff is capable and friendly!

Recently had 2 temporary crowns put on and while I was a little sore for a few days (which is completely normal and expected) the process itself was pain free! My crown looks exactly like my other teeth!! The hygienists, Chelsea and Taylor, are both super sweet and have a genuine desire to know you and are amazing at what they do. Fantastic experience: I had a wonderful experience! Dr. Mangum was patient and friendly. He took the time to explain what he was doing during the exam. And I didn’t feel rushed when he gave me a chance to ask questions. The dental hygienist was fantastic, too!

Negative experience: I hate to leave this review, but I was a patient of Dr. Pomerance and I recently left Mangum Family Dentistry for another dentist. First, the positive: Dr. Mangum and his staff were always nice. Dr. Pomerance introduced me to Dr. Mangum several months before the switch, so I was optimistic about the transition. Next - the iffy, yet I gave the benefit of the doubt: After Dr. Pomerance retired, I was surprised to find all of his longtime staff were gone (Sarah, Alex, Amanda, etc). I thought this was strange considering how wonderful and experienced the staff were, and since Pomerance was retiring it's not like they could follow him. I decided not to jump to conclusions, and the new staff were friendly as well. Next - more iffy...am I imagining things?: Another reviewer mentioned that his teeth cleaning wasn't as thorough with Mangum's new hygienist. I had the same experience. The old hygienist Amanda always used the cool vibrating tool to break up the gunk, and then use the pick. I could always tell the difference afterward when rubbing my tongue on my teeth. In contrast, this new hygienist only used the pick, and when I asked about the other part she said it isn't always needed. Well technically, the entire cleaning isn't needed (I went ten years without it before Pomerance), so why skimp? I could tell a difference, too. Finally, the reason I switched: I had a joint appointment for my son and I, and I've done this since the Pomerance days and never missed an appointment. This time, my son developed a fever the night before and I was sick enough to miss work. I called Mangum's office to reschedule and they confirmed that they can't see my son with a fever. HOWEVER, they told me that if we BOTH miss the appointment that they can never book us for a joint appt again (said it was "policy"). Seeing how we'd never missed an appointment and were rescheduling to protect their health as well, I was taken aback. It was especially brazen seeing how they inherited us from Dr. Pomerance. Everything was cordial, but I simply cancelled both appointments and booked with another dentist who confirmed they handle such matters on a case-by-case basis. I went to the new dentist and it was great. I tried to give Mangum's office a chance, but I just can't shrug off this anti-consumer behavior. Cramped airplanes, understaffed restaurants, stores closing way too early...I'm not trying to get dunked on by my dentist, too. Sorry, we're not at that point yet.

Fantastic experience: Experienced my first visit and cleaning at Magnum Dentistry yesterday. All employees and Dr. Magnum were professional and it was a calm and relaxing atmosphere. I will continue to use them for all my dental needs.

Fantastic experience: Taylor was my daughter’s hygienist. She was super caring and explained the process to my daughter in a kid friendly way to alleviate any worries. Dr. Mangum was also kid friendly and professional. I would highly recommend them for kids or adults.

Fantastic experience: Like many people, I’ve had some bad experiences with dentists—to the point that I don’t go as often as I should. My wife found Magnum Family Dentistry and said they were good so I made an appointment. And I’m so glad I did because the level of care was top notch. The doctor explained everything well and was extremely thorough, while at the same time efficient. The hygienist, Amy, was also extremely professional and very friendly. I was so happy with my experience that I already booked a second appointment. So after a long search and some bad experiences, I’ve finally found my dentist.

Positive experience: This has 3 stars because most of my experiences have been really amazing in the past (mainly with Dr. Pomerance). I used to recommend this office to everyone who asked for a dental reference! Now I'm hesitant to give that referral. The dental hygienist was nice but was really rough during the scaling causing some bleeding and not thorough while flossing or polishing my teeth. She even skipped a few during the cleaning like she was trying to beat some personal goal on how fast she could finish the job. I've been going to this office for quite some time, but now I'm tempted to either go elsewhere or make sure I get a different hygienist the next time.

Fantastic experience: I had a really good experience! The staff were all really nice. I have issues so my teeth take a really long time to clean. The hygienist and the front desk person stayed past their time to go to lunch to finish up my appointment.

Fantastic experience: Amazing staff! Super friendly over the phone and even helped me out with the paperwork. The people who worked on my teeth were so kind and gentle, and they are very considerate and understanding. I would definitely recommend them to a friend. Not to mention, they got me in for a same day appointment! Thank y'all!

Fantastic experience: I had broken 1 of my teeth and they were able to get me in and fix it before my doctor's appointment the next day. Everyone in the office was very knowledgeable and nice! The dentist himself was excellent and very knowledgeable to my situation. He fixed me right up and even followed up with me a few hours later. I won't be going anywhere else!

Fantastic experience: Dr. Mangum and his staff treat each patient with sincere courtesy, professionalism, and kindness. Dr. Mangum is very knowledgeable in his field, making sure his patients receive the best care possible. Our family cannot speak highly enough of Mangum Family Dentistry, and would recommend them to everyone.

Fantastic experience: I've been a patient at Mangum Family Dentistry for a couple of years now and I have nothing but good things to say about this practice! The staff is all so kind and helpful. I would recommend them to anyone! They've been doing invisalign with me for almost a year now and have been very accommodating to my requests and have taken my wants into consideration during the process.

Negative experience: I’ve thought a while before leaving this review. A couple of my colleagues use Dr. Mangum. I went for a second opinion. He did a through exam like any dentist does. He pointed out some things the first dentist didn’t. He said I’d probably lose some teeth as he wasn’t sure if he could save them. His dental hygienist said I’d need two deep cleanings. They left the room to get a quote. I sat in the room for a long period of time and then decided I had been there long enough. It was two hours. I went to the front desk and everyone was standing around. I mentioned I had to get back to work. The front desk person gave me a quote and said my insurance would run out. I said that’s not right because I have two insurances. The quote was substantial. When I got back to my office I scanned and emailed the quote back and asked if they could re-quote it using both my insurances. In the meantime, they sent several texts asking me to give them a review. I never heard back from the office regarding the quote. One of my colleagues recently had work done by Dr. Mangum. He removed two of her teeth. When she got her bridge, the color didn’t match. Dentists can match colors & this is very obvious they don’t match. She even said she didn’t care. She was glad to have her smile back. I’ve had bad dentists since I was young and they are the cause of my anxiety regarding dentists. I’ve also had good dentists. I’m relieved I listened to my gut this time. I found another dentist that I feel comfortable with. This review is not meant in any ill way. It’s what I experienced and thought I’d share.

Positive experience: The space was warm and welcoming, and the staff was as well. They were so hospitable and light-hearted. They were very positive and open to answering questions, and the technology they use appears very up to date. They even had a machine that created 3D models of my teeth on the computer, in addition to X-rays, so I could see how they are health-wise with more accuracy. I did not love that they did not inform me that some treatments they wanted to do would not be covered by insurance/would cost in addition to the cleaning before doing them (specifically a fluoride treatment). It also made some of their recommendations for electric toothbrushes and even recommended procedures etc a little suspect. For example, they appear to have a partnership with Sonicare (as in they have stated they will endorse their products) based on product placement around the offices - so, their recommendation could be because the toothbrushes are actually that good or that they have a partnership. But getting a charge without being informed it would cost extra engenders me to be a little more suspicious that their recommendations might not be in my best interest but instead be financially motivated. In addition, the hygienist, while being very friendly, recommended I come back in 3 months for an additional cleaning to prevent the need for a "deep cleaning." Most insurance plans only cover cleanings every 6 months, so it would be out of pocket. I have also never heard of a "deep cleaning" as something different than normal - my dentist normally just completely cleans everything every time, because that is what I have asked them to do by coming in for a cleaning. There isn't a difference between a normal and deep cleaning. She was very insistent on scheduling another cleaning 3 months out even after I indicated it probably wasn't financially feasible. So, overall, pretty friendly and welcoming - they will answer questions as long as you know which ones to ask and ask every time. But I am not 100% sure that I trust that their advice is motivated by desiring my best interests as the patient as opposed to pursuing financial gain, which isn't a place where you want to be when you are trusting & paying medical personnel to help you be healthy.

Fantastic experience: I've recently become a patient of Dr. Mangum at my son's recommendation. Although I've always had regular checkups, I did not know how far dental care had progressed until I had my first visit here. The expertise, caring and professionalism of the entire staff is exemplary. Every doctor's office should be this good.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Mangnum and his team from front desk to assistants were excellent! Compassionate, professional, skilled and caring. I felt 100% confident of their care to my 13 year old daughter. Solid work. I highly recommend this team to take care of your dental needs.

Fantastic experience: I’m 42 years old and was looking for a new dentist for myself and for my husband. As someone with a severe dental phobia who had bad experiences as a child/teen and avoided it for years, I was so relieved to find a place I felt comfortable at. I wasn’t scolded because I was never able to afford orthodontics, and I wasn’t put down for my appearance. My hygienist Brianna went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable during my exam and cleaning. Dr. Mangum was very nice and explained everything and asked if I had any questions. Everyone was so professional and I highly recommend them!!

Fantastic experience: Can’t say enough good things about this office. Amanda was my hygienist and she was so nice, so thorough, and made me feel very comfortable after having a very poor experience somewhere else. Dr Magnum was also very nice and I appreciate that he has a more reserved approach and isn’t just recommending a bunch of things just to make more money. The whole staff I interacted with was so nice, and very helpful. Highly recommend.

Positive experience: I have had the best dental experiences of my life during three appointments at this location. Beyond exam and x-rays, I was seen by Norman & Jennifer for periodontal work which was performed amazingly well; they gave me great results with minimal discomfort. Without fail, every person at the office was professional with a kind & friendly demeanor. From start to finish, they were the epitome of excellence. I recommend them highly for anyone that is looking for a new dentist in the Denton area. ********** After my initial review (see above) at the beginning of this year, I went back this summer for a couple fillings and to have a lesion removed. The new dentist Mangum worked on me this time. He had a great attitude and did very well removing the lesion. However, I believe he made a mistake on my filling. I was in pain for several days after getting it done and made another appointment. He looked at it and told me to take ibuprofen and that it should heal after a while. He did not charge me for this second visit. It has now been another couple months, and I am still in pain and taking OTC painkillers at least twice a day. I'm in the process of setting up another appointment, but my review has changed from 5-stars to 3-stars (he did do a good job on the lesion removal & they didn't charge for looking at it the second time). Considering their past professionalism, I'm hopeful that they'll be able to fix the issue at my next visit. Edited: 9/15/2022

Fantastic experience: I am a relatively new patient of Dr. Pomerance and I am so very pleased with him and his staff. Every single member of his staff has been very friendly, professional and efficient. My teeth were in pretty bad shape and Dr. Pomerance examined them and gave me a plan to get them back in shape along with the cost involved. I really appreciated that as it helped me to plan my dental work. Dr. Pomerance is very good at what he does and he is very patient with you. I highly recommend him.

Fantastic experience: I am a new patient to Dr. Pomerance and his caring staff. My very impression was great from the first call to set up the appt, to the services that were performed during my 1st visit. I had a significant issue going on and during the initial screening they immediately accommodated me and took care of the issue to relieve the pain and discomfort. He even called to check on me that evening. Everyone is so caring and kind to help you to relax and make you feel comfortable. I highly recommend Dr. Pomerance and know he will definitely be my dentist of choice.

Fantastic experience: I've always had awful experiences with the dentist that has led to me being terrified to go. My family recommend Pomerance's office and boy am I glad that they did. They are always so friendly every time I come in, the staff remembers any issues I have in regards to my teeth, and they always check on you to see if you're okay while working on your teeth. This place is staffed with sweet, genuine, friendly, and amazing people. 10/10 recommend anyone to come here.

Fantastic experience: Recently, my husband and I were recommended Dr. Pomerance as a dentist. Neither of us had been to a dentist in our adulthood. Every person in the office greeted us with a cheerful smile. You can tell the employees are happy to work here. That's a huge sign! They made us feel comfortable and allowed us to call the shots when choosing which work we wanted to do first. We have both been several times now and we will be forever patients. Dr. Pomerance called the evening of my husband's root canal and my deep clean to check on us and make sure we were feeling okay! Outstanding patient care and environment!

Fantastic experience: The best dentist experience I’ve ever had! The staff made me feel so comfortable and important. They took their time with me- asking me questions, listening, educating me, etc. it was a great experience. I am usually in pain when I get my teeth clean but the dental hygienist was so gentle and kind. Highly recommend :)

Fantastic experience: This is the best dentist I’ve ever gone to. He’s always kind. He’s exceptional with my elderly mother. He is excellent at laying out the different options regarding treatment plans. The office staff is always sweet and compassionate. I loved on a rainy day that they brought me a blanket when i was having a root canal. All of his dental work is exceptional too. If a crown is not up to his standards, he’ll send it back. He made a temporary crown for my husband. It was so good that we weren’t sure which tooth it was. I highly recommend Dr Pomerance and his staff.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Pomerance and his office are the best dentist I have ever been to. I live far away and they are so helpful and accommodating to make sure I can still get in for appointments when I am in town. I have been squeezed in last minute for needed visits and Dr. Pomerance really is gentle and caring. I have had horrible experiences with dentists before and always feel so comfortable going to this office!
